rooney can come across as awkward in some interviews but u can tell here she's very poised and composed, very intelligent, just introverted. a real thinker.
I like the way Rooney talks, she doesn't rush in to fill the silence with words. She takes time to think about her answers. Sure, the conversation doesn't flow as well, but what she has to say feels honest and stripped of the usual showbiz BS.
She expresses the absolute feminine essence. Something which moves people of all ages and genders. In other words she is more then an actress. Such a person knows they are different in a positive way. They cannot be changed. The less they do, the less they say, the more magnetic they are. It is a genuine mystery of human existence.
Beautiful, well-spoken, reserved, understated, very intelligent, with a great sense of integrity and decency, her answers are always insightful and well-thought-out. A pleasure to listen to...
D'Ascoyne meeeeh. not really impressed at all with vikander from what I've seen of her. Also fuck the oscars. The better actor/filmmaker have always been continually snubbed. Sometimes not even nominated.
Filthy Bot I totally agree. The film Carol is acting at it's finest. It was raw, very decent and heartfelt. Who cares if it didn't get an Oscar nod? People liked it, and that's why they made it in the first place.
An introvert yet extraordinary. I just saw the movie and I absolutely loved it! Cate Blanchett has always been my favorite actor and she was mesmerizing in Carol. Actually, so was Rooney in a different way!
Considering how much I love 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', I hope that David Fincher collaborate with Rooney Mara again someday. Rooney Mara's cast type perfectly fits David Fincher's directing style.
There are so many equally great actresses out there that never get the chance or opportunities Patria and her sister got because of coming from wealthy families but they have taken the opportunities gifted them and blossomed . I tend to watch movies with lesser known artists that may not have had all the investment in them but are just as talented and need our support . Hollywood is full of the privileged and or those involved in the underbelly of corruption. I would like to believe Rooney is an exception with all the other much more important work she is involved in outside of the entertainment industry
I’m I really amazed by her. Not only is she an excellent actress but definitely not snobbish. She tells the truth of how she feels. That face and her eyes are beautiful. She’s exotic, exquisite. At times she reminds me of a Greek goddess. She’s as beautiful as Cate. They just have a different kind of beauty. I just wish more people would concentrate on her.
Thanks for this interview , I like Rooney ( I'm fan) , she never gets to speak much of her personal stuff , and yet she was laughing . Thanks for that .
“Work begets work.” Very humble, practical, and wise words. She may possibly be the most low-key fascinating and intelligent actor I’ve ever fallen in love with. There’s something about her that I can’t even pretend to begin to describe...
I don't know Rooney as an actress that much. I remember seeing her in "Lion" and in "Her" but I'm not familiar with her acting apart from both of these films. I watched this interview some months ago, by sheer coincidence. Since then, I have watched this interview a couple of times. I just love the way she comes across in this interview. Calm, smart, poised, down-to-earth, elegant and yet quite relatable. There's also something intriguing and captivating about her. I don''t know what it is exactly but she has something in her that made me pay full attention to her words, not being able to look away from her face. Her beauty is mesmerizing as well. Her eyes are beautiful. Getting to know her better through this interview was a pleasure to me.
If you read Oscar Wilde, especially his love letters to Lord Alfred Douglas, it will enhance your insight into the nature of loving someone like Rooney Mara. The sort of crazy love in which you give yourself up to the mystery and are prepared to throw everything else away.
Finally saw "Dragon Tattoo".....Wow, what a performance.....Great watching her personality evolve..........should have been more than just an award nomination.......
I think David should have his own version of the acting studio or something of that nature. He's such a great interviewer. One of the best in the industry right now hands down.
Rooney has the most beautiful way of emitting subtle emotion. She could make an entire movie without words. Her face in Ghost Story with Casey Affleck speaks a million words.
That scene in A Ghost Story of Rooney Mara's character driving away from the house, consisting of nothing but her face and Daniel Hart's score, is one of my favorite movie scenes of recent times. It becomes like a modern silent film for a few minutes. All the emotion, history, the weight of good and bad memories are carried by her expression and the music. (And it's the most beautiful cue that Hart wrote for the film.)
She's an incredible actress and seems like such a cool and calm girl. You'd never know her family on both sides is incredibly rich and basically created the NFL.
Wow Rooney is extremely in touch with her abilities as an actor. You can tell she's very educated and worthy of all the accolades that come with acting. It still bums me out that she wasn't cast for 'the girl in the spiders web'. Needless to say I didn't even bother watching the movie until recently. If I had one word to some up 'the girl in the spiders web' it would be "FORCED". It felt like a sequel more so than a saga. Having a new director, a new writer, and a different cast drastically reduced the the latest installment of this series. I understand why casting new actors is needed while creating a series but there is very little semblance between 'the girl with the dragon tattoo' and 'the girl in the spiders web'. I hope the producers and the writers get there stuff together and cast Rooney for the next installment.
I loved the moment of 20:50. Very funny. David, thanks a lot! I follow your work since video number 1. And I like when you ask them about the movies that they've seen lately or which performances they enjoyed, please keep doing that, it's great. Will you catch Charlize again? for Mad Max: Fury Road?
I agree with you 100%..... 'The girl in the spiders web'' was garbage in comparison! You kinda knew that "the girl with the dragon tattoo" wasn't going to be topped by the sequel(s) that followed. I can't imagine what Star Wars would've been like if Christopher Walken was cast as Han Solo in 'The Empire Strikes Back'......It would've been asinine just like 'the girl in the spiders web' was!!
It's funny how different is respect to her sister Kate, who is more outgoing and vocal. Which one I would prefer? Kate for some funny moments, Rooney for a lifetime relation. Love when there is some mistery on women, when not anything is very visible
She is a serious woman. She looked like Audrey Hepburn as Therese but she doesn' t really look like her. She must be shy and reserved, enjoy a few friends but not large crowds and noise.
rooney can come across as awkward in some interviews but u can tell here she's very poised and composed, very intelligent, just introverted. a real thinker.
People seem to praise extroverts more than introverts... But I like that mysterious, fascinating and observant vibes about Rooney
Xena Warrior Princess Introverts are bomb
Yes because you will find she is beavering away under the waters involved in many great things to bring about positive change to all on this Planet 🌎
extroverts can drive you insane quickly especially when they get in your face

She's captivating. Her talking pace, how she takes time to choose the right words really shows how intelligent she is.
i dunno if its just me but her face, her beauty is captivating.
Its not just you I actually can't stop watching her
Shes so beautiful her and cate

She’s so angelic and mysterious. Love her
I want to get to know her, she's so intriguing and absolutely mesmerising and she's not even aware of it
just saw Carol, shes AMAZING. the way she emotes and the subtle expressions ....
Beautiful, well-spoken, reserved, understated, very intelligent, with a great sense of integrity and decency, her answers are always insightful and well-thought-out. A pleasure to listen to...
Still a loser in the Oscars. A well deserved win for the much better actress Alicia Vikander.

I'm a big fan of Rooney. She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn...especially in Carol. She looks a lot like Lily Collins too.
and also she looks a lot like Troian Bellisario!
Funny enough, her ex-boyfriend is dating Lily Collins now
@@krislove1167 and to connect that to cate troian and cate work togetherin a film.

I wish Cate Blanchett and Rooney Màra will have another movie for Carol Part 2. They're both great actors.
the last few lovely minutes of her happy made me think she should like you said - do a happy role
incredibly alluring
She's so mysterious!

She's so elegant and beautiful. Wow😍😍
Omg her hair!!!
She seems really reserved and somber.

+Kate Genwunner Wow, hateful.

She's simply an introvert.

I’d love to see Rooney play Audrey Hepburn in a biopic. Does anyone else see the resemblance, or is it just me?

Another great batch of interviews this week, thanks Dave!
great interview, im having similar feelings wanting to get into the business but at 25 I feel like im too old
i dont suppose anybody is too old to be an actor maybe think of it as a job or passion
Her greatest achievements are outside of the entertainment industry and have much more significance in the grand scale of things for all life here
The first 4 seconds of this video...wow
I love her movies. Ain't those Bodies Saints was a great movie.
I loved the moment of 20:50. Very funny.

oh man how does this guy get these class actors and do such bad interviews?
+uphillracer What? He consistently does great interviews. He always gets intelligent, interesting responses.

super late but, it was Pariah (2011)
