    Since replacement pumps are delayed - I wonder if it's possible to remove the pump and disassemble and put and extra layer of circuitboard waterproof coating on it?
    I saw somewhere that a software reset was also necessary for this recall/repair - but maybe that's only if the pump actually failed and it went into 'limp mode'...

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, there is a specific way to waterproof the PCB. I plan to do a video on this. BTW, nothing in the recall technical service bulletin talks about software. It's strictly a hardware replacement.

    Thanks! Could you please share a link to the coolant used? Is it Prestone AF850 Dexcool ?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  3 месяца назад +1

      I don't have anything more specific than 50-50 premix Dexcool. Sadly, the service manual did not see it fit to tell us. Hopefully we can get more info.

    So appreciate your help. Let me know if you can do an HVAC video many have AC problems where it does not get cold. Can you do a video on checking AC pressure to see if low state of charge from factory? I have a FOO hot air blowing from vents never gets cold. Tried bringing to two service stations so far to check but mechanics refused to look at vehicle.

      @MTNRanger  2 месяца назад

      Sorry, I'm not experienced with HVAC to make a video like that.

    AWESOME Video Matt... If you hear any updates on our replacement water pumps and how we are suppose have it done please let us all know. ALSO, if Fisker does follow through in replacing the Water Pump do you know if it's all 4 Water Pumps or just one?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  3 месяца назад

      FOA is looking at the recall pumps and working with Fisker. I'm pretty sure the recall is just the one pump. I hope to disassemble the four pumps and see if there is any difference inside. Hopefully it's just the one part number that has the incorrect conformal coating.

      @@MTNRanger Matt as a Fisker Ocean owner like myself what are your thoughts about the FOA using a Attorney to arbitrate with CHASE, are you going to sign up with them even though they will take 30%. If you do how will that work for example if I owe $40k would they take 30% of what I owe leaving me to still be short / upside down but free of the loan with CHASE

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  Месяц назад

      @@271830066 I didn't use Chase, so it doesn't apply to me. I have no idea how a settlement work end up working. Especially since it could be anything from nothing to a few thousand to the remainder of the loan - who knows? But you are still probably better off than not doing anything.

      I could not find specifics for the Ocean, but most EV manufacturers list anywhere from 5 to 10 years or 100k-150k miles before replacement.

    Great video!
    FYI, the orientation of the outlet of a pump relative to the mounting is called "clocking."
    It looks like the pumps are identical, just with different mounting equipment.
    Some have also simply been sealing the outside of the cover of the pump with silicon (where the metal top meets the plastic body/housing). Not sure if this will be successful, depending on where the water is coming from.

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  3 месяца назад

      Thank you for that information! I have a follow-up video in about a week that will show how to fix the issue. Sealing the outside would be a temporary fix.

    $15,500 for a crashed FOO is bullish sign to me.
