If your Toshiba laptop computer is not turning on or if its freezing or shutting down during start-up, use this video to start troubleshooting. Ill help you perform a Static Discharge and then test your Battery & Adapter / Charger to see if they are the issue. If not, then we will move on to a BIOS Reset using the video link below. If all those steps do not fix the issue, then your most likely looking at needing a motherboard replacement as seen here; • Video . Check out the FAQ's and Related Video Links below !!

1. One viewer said that they held down the 'D' key while trying to turn on with the power key and it worked! I have not tired that personally but please let me know if you have seen that :)

This helped me massively. Had no idea why my laptop would start up but then just turn off. Turns out I definitely new a new battery. Laptop comes on when battery is removed but charger is plugged in. Big thank you to the uploader 😎👍

Currently working on a very important university project when suddenly my laptop turned off and wouldn’t turn on again. Thanks buddy. My Toshiba Dynabook Tecra A50-K-12E just will not power on after a Windows 10 update. So followed the advice to press on the power-button for 60 seconds and it WORKED even though I did not remove the battery (built-in internally). I only disconnected the charger when long-pressing the power button.

Totally Worked! I had NO idea that this was even a thing! Laptop led up to freezing up to 20 times a day! MADDENING! Then I saw this solution. What what whaaaaaat? Totally solved, and on the first try. Static? Really. Amazing solution. Thank you Obi-Wan Kenobi, you were my only hope.

@@nurunnahar515 1. Are there any signs of life at all when you try to turn it on? Lights? Fan, Motherboard, or Hard Drive sounds? Anything seen on the screen?

I am using TOSHIBA Satellite L50-A1001 and it have internal battery. It charge when the charger is plugged but won't turn on when I press the open button. I was gonna click the link for the internal battery but have seen your additional info. I've decided to try it and really thank God that I did because it worked! I press the open button together with the 'D' key and it opened! I am so delighted. Thank youu. May God bless you moree. Yey!

Hi! To inform everyone, the solution is only temporary. It comes back. Maybe the laptop with internal battery should be opened.

Hi, thanks for the videos.
My Toshiba sometimes won't start at all (the yellow LED indicator at the edge is off). I just hear the fan/dvd player turn on and off seconds later. If I leave it for a while, I find it working again. If I shut it down and turn it on it fails again. Other times I just hear the motherboard clicking but screen still black. I am currently using a charger only since my battery spoilt.
If your computer is not turning on at all, you are on the correct first troubleshooting video. Have you tried the steps here yet?
If your computer wont turn on at all and this video did not identify the issue, then you would need to troubleshoot deeper into the computer. Start with the BIOS Reset as shown here; ruclips.net/video/VO5BhbiItCM/видео.html
This is the perfect solution, I am doing this daily, Toshiba online service person told me this technique.

However, you shouldnt be having to do this daily. If so, there is prob an issue you need to resolve.

@@thinkbig5936 Are you using your computer with a surge protector? You may need to upgrade it. Also, it could be that the battery or power adapter is starting to go bad. Try using the computer without the battery and just the power adapter for a day or two. Does the problem continue?

I will try your advice but my Toshiba Laptop has an internal battery. I sure hope it works even without the battery. My laptop doesn't have a fan or look like any of the Toshiba laptops I've seen online. I can't see the ram nor the hard drive unless it's under the battery. It has a power port for the screen as well as the main body. The battery light is flashing which is located on the side of the screen. I hope it doesn't have a battery inside the screen too 😠

@@PC_Monkey On the bottom panel of the Toshiba Laptop it has part no. PT15BU-00401D. I was able to find one with a detachable screen which could be used as a tablet and it was a Toshiba Portege Z20A. I still can't find any reliant video's of it's internal components. It appears the major the hard drive, ram and a second battery are located in back of the screen. I haven't attempted to dismantle the screen as of yet. The battery light is flashing away on the side of the screen. There is no fan in the base as well or the screen. If you are able to determine which model it is I'd really appreciate it. Also on the front of the screen it has a sticker that say's Intel Inside Core m Vpro.
