    Finally got around to watching it. And well worth the watch! Loved your breakdown on each character - enjoyed thoughts in fixes. Especially the Gaston one. And so pleased to see your fav is HK. Great video. Thanks for the quality entertainment. And keep it up!

    The most frustrating thing that happened to me: I played Hook with 4 other players and the Neverland Map was at the very bottom and when I finally got that card, another player had me replace ALL my hand cards. Long story short: when I finally got that card again, every other player won

      Tick Tock isn't forced though, you can avoid his location. I guess if it was your only fate spot and your opponent would win next turn then you're kind of screwed there.

    Which 3 villains would you like to see in the next expansion pack?

    • @werothegreat
      @werothegreat  3 года назад +1

      Honestly, all of my must-haves have been fulfilled already - Horned King was the big one - anyone else would be garnish at this point. Of the remaining, probably Madam Mim and King Candy, and I'm not too fussed about the third (as long as it's not Governor Ratcliffe).

    Definitely didn't know you disliked Lion King so much as a movie. For me, everything from the songs to Scar is great

    • @werothegreat
      @werothegreat  Год назад

      Scar is great, the songs I great, the weird pro-hierarchy/pro-monarchy message is bad, and Simba is boring

    • @thehobbyist7275
      @thehobbyist7275 Год назад

      @werothegreat I can accept the Simba critique, but the hierarchy message? They're literally Lions, lol. Lion prides have hierarchies like a lot of animals who live in groups. So do most dog species that have packs, and the animal kingdom naturally has its females attracted to the Alpha, whether it's colorfully and boastful in the world of birds or a test of strength. Especially with the OG Lion King, as I've rewatched it several times, and I feel it isn't that deep. We often hear the phrase that Lions are "King of the Jungle," so it makes sense why a hierarchy and monarchy would exist even if you see things differently from me.
      Edit: You could even make the case that this applies to humans, too. While there are obviously exceptions and a greater spectrum of preferences, men have fought each other over females before, much like the animal kingdom. Our "alphas" are the strong men who have a lot of confidence in themselves, and most advice people get or receive when trying to ask someone else out is to get the courage and to come off as confident. A lot of beliefs in the ideal man are one who is strong, confident, and can provide. Not to be too political, but this essentially is the same in a lot of animals, too

      @@thehobbyist7275 People are not wild animals, monarchy is bad, and there's no such thing as an "alpha" human. This movie is insidiously conservative.

    • @thehobbyist7275
      @thehobbyist7275 Год назад

      @werothegreat For a kid's movie??? It's really not that deep. I was merely using the "alpha" mentality thing as a comparison and contrast thing more than a legitimate or a literal claim of what I believe in. If you're talking about the live action, there could be a case, but I think you're looking for something that doesn't exist, or you haven't made a case for why it's more intrinsically conservative/political. Monarchy can be bad, but depending on where you're from, it could be totally normal. I know people who've argued that the power of the U.S. president is getting closer to that to a monarch with the ability to veto laws and be the COC of the entire U.S. military, to name just a few examples. I know that couldn't be further from the truth, but it's a perspective I've experienced.
      I'm merely debating and hoping to discuss to pick your brain a bit. It's out of curiosity rather than malicious intent or to tear you down. I want to see why you think that the plot point of Lions being in a monarchy is being too political or that it's conservative. Is the director conservative? If so, is that what's skewing your opinions to be against the movie if you enjoyed the music and Scar? If you're not a fan of monarchy in a movie, do you also dislike Lord of the Rings, Mulan, Frozen, Tangled, Snow White, Cinderella, or literally a majority of the fairy tales that have a king, queen, princess, or any form of royalty if most of it is merely just a plot point than a political message? I'm genuinely asking to know
