One of the best game ever where both the completely casual and the more hardcore competitive player can play at the same table and both have fun. Favorites are DrF, Pete, Hades, Hook
We just recently picked up Despicable Plots, but lady Lady Tremaine is already a really pleasant surprise from that one. We love Gaston as a character, but he seems really tricky.
"Lady Tremaine just wants the best for the majority of her three daughters!" That's clever, stealing that :) Pete is my favorite to play, followed by Mother Gothel and Prince John. Madam Mim from the newest expansion is tons of fun!
Good review thanks! I actually play solo! I take whichever Villain, then I take out one hero card (as though someone else had taken a Hero cloud action against me) but only do so each 2 turns. You take 2 turns, then before you start your 3rd one, you play a hero card. Messes up your plans the same way a real person. I own the original and Evil Comes Prepared and was able to adapt this to all 9 characters. I stop drawing heroes each 2 turn if there are more than 4 out. Once 2 of those 4 have been taken care of, then I resume playing hero cards as usual. Placement for hero cards is always 'the best move they can make' which is usually not hard to know where you really don't want them to appear. So I think it's a low-maintenance solo way to play :D Oh and for powers that only activate when other players do something, I wait till the second card from that specific power is drawn into my deck to use it. So I discard the first, then wait to get the second (there are always 2 of each). I apply its effect when I get the second card and play it.
Interesting! But how do you determine if you've won? Do you just play until you're done, or do you set yourself a time by which you must have reached your objective in order to win?
Shere Khan would be number one. But we would also love a more modern pack with Goob (Meet The Robinsons - a personal fave), Yokai (Big Hero 6), and the King of Candy (Wreck It Ralph).
The next expansion has been announced for release March 2022. Bigger & Badder featuring Syndrome(Incredibles), Losto(Toy Story 3) and Madame Mim(Sword in the Stone)
Hey! We actually just talked about this game today in today’s videos. I got the Marvel version and rebought the base game for Black Friday (Alex took my copy). Excited to get the expansions. My favorite so far is Prince John because his objective is so straightforward, trying to get as much money as possible

Your two-played focused review was exactly the type of video I was looking for, and I’m so glad it helped me discover your channel. I’m also not sure if you’ve done a video like this yet, but I would really love to hear your recommendations for “starter” board games for getting adults interested in gaming. Not just in terms of what are the best games in terms of gameplay, but what games you think would have a good “hook” to get people interested. Part of the appeal of Disney Villainous is that it appeals to Disney fans, and so it’s easier to get them to try it. But what good games would best appeal to Marvel, Star Wars, or Harry Potter fans? Maybe even a recommendation of what to play next would be nice. Thanks again for your great videos!
Thanks! And thanks for the idea, Jess had been thinking about something similar in terms of games to bring people into the hobby, but we hadn't thought about the theme hook specifically. We are huge Star Wars and HP fans, so we'll mull it over.
I think my fav would be Hades. While he isn't that strong I have a lot of fun yoinking out my big boys and moving on my chariot from Olymp to the underworld and back

What Villains would you like to see in the next expansion? I'd give anything to see Frollo, Shan Yu, and Shere Khan

I (Shawn) love Hades too! He is tough to win with, but I have a ton of fun with him. Not quite my number one, but definitely up there.
