Incredible long-term use review. We shared this video around the office. Great feedback and pointers for others. We appreciate the support!
Thanks for checking out the video QuickJack; feel free to use my video on your webiste. You guys know, you have a great product so I am looking forward to seeing what's next.
Savin up to buy mine too.
Someone on this post (see comments) is struggling with their QJ. Maybe QJ support could reach out and assist?
Aren’t the labels supposed to be towards the front of the car and the pump hose should
Gave towards the back ? That’s what my instructions show ?
Keep up the great work buddy.. and you sold me on a set as soon as I saw them! You were right, now I dont know how I lived without them!
Completely worthy investment!
Very nice review sir. I've been thinking about getting these for a little while now and your video sold me. Will be ordering tonight! Wife says just do it, can't argue with that 😉
I appreciate you watching and the kind words. Trust me, you will not be disappointed, neither will the wife!
Money well spent is always the best and an extended review is always helpful.
Thanks for watching this review!
Thanks for the review! I've been considering getting a set for myself.
Dr Cars, you will not regret the decision!
Excellent review. Thanks!
Hope this video was helpful to you. Thanks for watching and the support.
Awesome video! I want to buy one now.
Do it!
Thanks for the great review. I bought mine not too long ago
Thanks for watching and the support. Enjoy your QuickJack!
Awesome review, I learned from your content.
Thank you for watching and the support!
I use QJ regularly on my 981 Boxster S and absolutely love it! I’m 63, retired and really enjoy maintenance work and QJ makes it so much more fun. Best tool I’ve bought for a long time, I would highly recommend. Downside? I need the extension rails for my SUV but they hard to locate in Canada and shipping from the US is really expensive.
Great to see a fellow Porsche owner. I have had all my Porsches on the QuickJack. My 911 presents the biggest issues though because it's so low.
Essential on Porsches given the servicing access we need from the underside. I use 4 Jack stands as well for extra safety. We need to take care of our ‘P’s 😊
Thank you for the information. I just got one and it has not been used yet.
Enjoy the QJ. It's a good automotive tool. Just make sure you are 199% safe when underneath.
I left my antique car up on my quick jack for 4 months during the winter, no problems. The car weighs 3900 lbs. the only issue I had was the rubber block squished about a half inch, but bounced right back after the weight was removed.
Your input reaffirms the quality and safety of this system. Thanks for the input!
I got my quickjack system last month. I was choosing between the 5000TL and the 7000TL. I was happy to spent a bit more money and took the 7000TL at the end. I bought the SUV adapter extra with the set and a other set of rubber blocks on Ebay which are bigger and higher of the size. For the Test with an BMW the included blocks were ok but for my both own cars not so good.
The hight is very good of the 7000TL for common works on and under the car. The car stands stable and save on it. The time to lift up and down I have checked are round about 1:10 min.. To prepare the quickjack under the car including the hydraulik pump are round about 5 min to 10 min..
Benjamin, if my cars were not so low, I would have bought a 7000TL as well. Having the extra capacity gives one a great piece of mine.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic my both cars are low, too. There I want to look for some plates for the floor where I can with the wheels on it to have enough space between the frame and the body car to lift up. I saw a lot of your american guy's where bought quickjack and have an low car with body parts installed there get in contact with the frames.
@@benjaminwiener9942 if you're lowered and having trouble getting the QJ underneath, consider picking up a pair of low riser ramps. I have the following and it works perfect!
www.rallysportdirect.com/part/cus-a517-sl99-cusco-jack-assist-ramps?gclid=Cj0KCQjww4-hBhCtARIsAC9gR3ahyo4g9Jb7Upsu7908-7jC4Pjlf9BUgVZKdziFhtn2MXouDd019WcaAmHjEALw_wcB
Good stuff Peter! I'd like to hear how it's handled on a lowered car like your 911.
This is a great question ZatVunDoot. The QuickJack 5000 has a minimal height of 3.5" and if the sides of your car is lower, no way will the QJ fit underneath. What I do in the case of the 911, is drive up on boards I've made ( which raise the rear end up 2"). This gives me enough clearance to get the QJ and lifting blocks underneath to properly raise the car.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic It fits under my NC Miata just fine, even if I lower it, will still fit.
Another great video Peter. I have been considering a "quickjack" type system as I do not have quite enough room (height) in my garage. BTW I have been following you for a good while now (previously under my other RUclips subscriber name Turbosilversurfer). Switch all my followed accounts to this one, my main account.
Keep up the great work, I always look forward ti watching your video when I get that notification.
I hope you are enjoying the Porsche "I am pretty sure you are". Wife still loves her S3 , I still love my RS3 but, am seriously contemplating the new GT4 with the PDK as a replacement for the RS3 (after Porsche redesigning and permanent fix to the catastrophic failures of the 4.0 in them).
Hey James, as always, I appreicate your support and all the input you've given me over my YT career.
It's funny that you bring up the GT4. I actually JUST...offered up my allocation on a GT4 due to the SB Porsche placed on them. My build would have started June, but who knows when they will rectify all the issues. Also after sitting with the GM and spec-ing out my GT4, $140k OTD was a hard pill to swallow. So, for the time being, I may hold on to the 997 since values are appreciating nicely. Cheers man, always nice to see your comments.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic I would absolutely say holding onto your 997 for now is definitely the right move. With the appreciation you could see in waiting on Porsche to rectify the GT4 debacle that $140k pill may become just a little easier to swallow 😂
Honestly I was torn between 17-19 R8 V10 Performance or new GT4. Once they announced the PDK in the GT4 I was quickly swayed to go GT4 PDK, not only because it is an amazing car but, also because it will appreciate in value (especially with such few miles I would put on it annually "we have 5 cars, are both retired and do not drive a whole lot") as to where the R8 would continue to depreciate the longer I owned it.
Cheers man, always great chatting with you 👍
@@jamesblade911able We must be brothers from another mother because I too, have contemplated the R8 V10. In fact, I have an appointment to see one this Sunday.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic I am with you there "fam" lol. Do not get me wrong, if you or I bought an R8 V10 Performance, I do not think either one of us would regret it, lol
My heaviest vehicle is a 2012 Expedition, so I'd probably need the 7000tlx. Just for a precaution, I'd place jack stands underneath the vehicle.
I strongly agree with your use of the 7000TLX. It's built with a thicker frame so you should be good to go. Definitely also use jack stands underneath to be safe.
Great review. I just purchased a 5000SLX and am excited about getting it. I'm curious which QJ you used to lift all of these vehicles?
Ryan, I used the same one your purchased.
When you talked about the coupler, I wish you would’ve showed what you were talking about. I’m thinking about getting a 5000 pound lift.
Hello Adam, thanks for the suggestion. You're correct, I could have shown more of the coupler instead of just including a photo @ 3:45.
He sounds like a quick jack salesman
I did mention that I was a fan of the QuickJack setup. If you have a better one, I am all ears.
Dear Peter, I've had my QJ for Three Years. Took it apart, but can't connect back together. I can't connect it to the pump. It seems theirs air in the pump that's causing the hose to connect the fitting . I try to release the pressure from the fitting ,but it's to hard release the pressure. should I release the fitting?
Hello Rodney, would you mind telling me, what did you take apart? Are you referring to the hoses that connect the lift to the hydraulic unit? Have you tried to push the down button while you're connecting the pieces together?
Peter, how often are you changing the fluid? And have you had to put more air in the cylinders?
Hello ea0529, great question. I will be the first to admit that in the 5 years that I used the old 5000SLX, I never once changed the fluids. Does that have an impact on performance? I 'm not sure. I have though, bleed the cylinders and added air back in.
I like it but the max height is 24 inches. I decided to buy two harbor freight "long reach" 3 ton floor jacks with 24-1/4 inch max lift height. I also use two 6 ton jack stands. I can only lift one end of my car which is all I need and my system cost less. For safety, I use the two hydraulic jacks for the initial lift and then place the jack stands and lower the car but I keep my floor jacks in place for four points of support. I suggest potential buyers should compare both systems before deciding.
Hey Victor, your solution sounds like a decent alternative for people who want to work on their vehicles but do not want to spend the funds for a QuickJack. For my purpose, 80% of the time, I need all four corners off the ground so having the QuickJack makes more sense. I greatly appreciate your input and suggestions for other viewers.
I've had my 5000#'r for almost 3 years. Ramps are about 75# each, and I have the DC version so I can take it anywhere. Use an Antigravity Micro Start XP-10HD for power, no issues. My main "complaint" is setting up the pinch rail adapters, they can take a few tries to set right and make the lift. I would like to put jacking rails on all of my cars, that would eliminate my only complaint with my Quickjacks. You can usually find a good price at autoshows or races, when they come back to life again.
I completely agree with pinch rails. One item I should have mentioned as a "downside" is the time it takes to properly set up the QuickJack. In some cases, it takes me 10-15mins. However, I'd rather be 100% safe than sorry.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic no doubt! I know the SUV adapters can give you more height too, but I haven't needed more than the 5000 already has. Really a great product. I'll keep an eye on my hoses for expansion issues. Did you get new ones from QJ, or just have a local shop fab some up?
@@mcleach71 I ordered new ones which were only $50/pair. Not bad at all. $50 spent over 5yrs.
Hi, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a QJ 7000SLX to raise my BMW X5 or my wife's Audi Q5. One thing that concerns me in some way is, my garage is not perfectly level, it has a 1% slope or incline, so if I wash my car, water will run out, do you think that's a safety issue to be addressed? Keep the good videos coming, I'm located in Costa Rica
Bernie, double check your X5’s lifting point spread. The last x5 I had in my garage, the 5000TL did not fit because it’s too short. Verify the 7000TL’s lifting spread to make sure it’s long enough for your X5. You may need the TLX.
Regarding the slope, a 1 degree slant isn’t going to be a lifting hazard.
Thank you. Can I raise up my redeye in a quick jack any issue?
David, if you use the 5000lbs QuickJack, you'll have no issues lifting your Redeye.
Hi Peter, regarding the ATF Synthetic or Regular for the Quickjack?
Top Gun, no need to yse synthetic, regular is fine.
Got my 7000TL yesterday. Pissed it doesn't come with pinch weld blocks standard and had to waste $170 more on them. Never seen a vehicle without pinch weld jack points....blew my mind these aren't standard for a $2000 piece of equipment
Congrats on the purchase! It's a great lift. Like you though, I had to purchase pinch weld blocks with my new setup. They should include them, but it's another way to make revenue.
Thanks for the video I want to get one but their 1 year warranty scares me. If I buy a tool that expensive it needs to last at least 5+ years, but good to know it still works and looks like you can get repalcement parts anyways online if something is to happen. They are much more expensive now but F it I'm going to get one.
For what the QJ is, it's a decent automotive tool. When I owned it, I used it over 500 times. Unfortunately with as many different vehicles that I do service on, I had to move on to a more expensive and flexible lifting system.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Ah ok do you have a loft now? If I could I'd get a lift for sure.
@@JackRR15 I use a completely different lift now.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic What is it?
@@JackRR15 I use the EZCarLift. If you Google their site, try not to laugh at the old school looking page. It's a great system and hand built individually; made in the USA.
Just got my QJ. Do you do anything for maintenance/up keep?
With my old QJ setup, all I ever did was rebled the system every year and inspected for leaks.
Did you buy a replacement house from Quickjack for the one that split and caused the aneurysm? If so, how was the cost and time for replacement?
Yes, I purchased replacement hoses from QJ for roughly $50. They ended up shipping the item to me within 3-5 business days.
what model Quick Jack do you have. I'm interested in the 5000
I own the 5000TLX.
Which one will work on the 2008 Sienna?
The Wishmaster, you need at a minimum, the 5000TLX.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic .. If I get the 7000 version will it work on both the Corolla and the Sienna minivan?
@@thewishmastur you probably want to pick up the 7000TLX. Lift point spread of this setup is 43-66". Just make sure your Sienna is not further apart than 66".
I've had mine for 2 years... I have not been able to get it to raise or lower equally since I got it.... I've bled and bled and bled... It's driving me crazy... I've started to use floor jacks and stands again.... I followed the instructions over and over again.... I wish mine worked as well as yours....
Mark, when you raise the QJ, are you saying that it raises unevenly? That's strange because load should be balanced between both lifts. What does QJ have to say?
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Thanks for the reply!.... I agree.. is SHOULD be balanced... but it's not... I've bled & bled & bled the system... QJ urged me to follow the instructions... Yet nothing I've done has been effective.... I'll have to escalate my calls to them... There must be a solution.. but to date (2years) I have not been able to solve it...
@@markprzekurat can you post a video of this?
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic I've been thinking about creating one to send to QJ.... So yes... I can... I'll get someone to film for me... and I'll run through the bleed procedure again.. and then document how it works after that... I've done it several times with no change in function.... so.. yes..
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Yes.. it raises and lowers unevenly.... and one of the frames always seems to want to rotate, or skid on the floor... they do not stay still.... I've owned them for 2+ years.. and have only used them about 5 times because it's soooo stressful.... I've been wrenching for 40 years... something's not right... and I'm sensitive as to how far I can push it... so far I haven't lost the car.. but Im getting ready to bleed the system again, air up the return tanks.. and give it another go....
Do you miss the s3 at all?
Billy, it's funny that you ask me. A local client brought over an A3 E-Tron to show me. Although it's not a S3, it's the same 8V chassis so I started reminisce on how much fun I had working on the S3. So yes, I do miss it!
the uggs in the backround 🤣
Hydraulic cable or hose?
Hose
the instructions state that the instruction sign end of the jacks must be at the heavy (engine) end , if you do a video of it lifting both ways it will be glaringly obvious wich way is much safer , READ the instructions people . this is massively more important on a mini where the engine trans and diff are all over the front
Thank you for bring that bit of info to light. Let me make a correction to your statement. It's not a REQUIREMENT...it's just a "tip" from QuickJack. How do I know, I actually read the manual; page 40, thank you.
I think you're lifting in the wrong direction.
Danny, QuickJack does not specify a lifting direction so either front/back is perfectly fine with the caveat: The safety arms MUST be on the outside of the vehicle and on cars which closely max out the lift rating, the heavier end should be placed toward the front of the QuickJack.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic
Thanks for the clarification.
f all that id never trust my life with ANYTHING that uses air. one small leak and BAM ur life is done son. thats a lot of weight coming down in an instant and due to suspension it would nearly bottom out and crush you and kill you instantly. the issue i see with these is no jack stands go high enough to support the car as a precaution. for me, im gonna be moulding cement drive up platform on both sides. cant get safer than that. no jacks no stands needed. pure safety
I get what your saying and completely understand. Being under any lift is a risk. However, I mitigated some of the risk by placing adjustable ,load stands underneath. Yes, there is such a product.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic good to know man yea never ever trust anything thats simply rubber and air under 2 tons of pressure lol. definitely take precautions. good on you!!!
A.....it's not air, it's hydraulic, little different than air! Plus it's resting on locks, it's not being held up by air or hydro.....
@@MrLeecromwell Thanks for your input.
