1) don’t drive over your hydraulic lines, you’ll damage them 2) you have the jacks on the wrong sides, the safety bars should be on the outside so you don’t reach through the frame of the jack Be safe
@@LowBoostFilms dude, I watched you drive over the hoses twice in the video and reach your foot thru it to kick the support bar. Just trying to keep you safe and from damaging your stuff
@@mtbikerinme83 oh I thought you meant drive over the ramps. It specifically said in the instructions you can drive over the hoses. And yea I did kick it in the video, it was hard holding the camera.
I thought the same thing never drive over any pressurized hoses. You'll increase the pressure in the lines to the point of fail sometimes and you don't wanna be under the car if they burst.
Something I did was cut some narrow strips of carpet tile.(about an inch or so wide) and glued them to the underside frame of the quickjack. Makes the easier to slide around and less damage to floor paint and surfaces etc. The strips act like felt furniture/floor protectors
Late to the conversation, but there are reasons why you can't use jack stands. Electric cars have very specific jack points. I have a Tesla and 2 Mustang Mach-e(s). I bought the QuickJacks because you can't rotate tires using jack stands because there's not enough room for a jack AND a stand to take its place. Yeah, I know they sell the stand that straddles a jack (RennStand), but by the time you have a set, you might as well just have purchased the QuickJack. I got the 7000 because the Mustang weighs in right at 5000 pounds (very heavy car). The QuickJack makes it very easy to do rotations on the electric cars as well as detailing work, deep cleaning wheel wells after the winter, and maintenance on my ICE car.
You should not drive over the hydraulic hoses, they warn you not to in the manual to avoid damaging the hoses. You also have your lifts on the wrong sides, the locks should be on the out side so you do not have to reach through the lift to unlock them. So in summary you have the right lift on the left side and the left lift on the right side.
This is old so you probably won't even see it but when you take the oil plug drain, i find if you put your index on the head of the drain bolt apply a small amount of pressure and use your middle and thumb to spin the bolt, back it out till no more threads left, the pressure will keep the oil from leaking out and you can just pull the bolt away cleanly and without dropping the bolt into the oil or getting your hand covered in oil Thanks for the video im stil waiting on my quickjacks for my Mazda rx8, which i assume is a similar hight
That’s a good tip, removing the oil plug bolt is really an art. I will try that next time. Thanks for watching, you will really like these quick jacks!
Good tip. I was going to suggest it as well. Just put pressure on the bolt as your unscrewing it, feel the last thread and then pull away, fast. Great video and nice rides.
Better to place thick paper on the floor to avoid oil on the floor if something not goes well. Better to raise the oil catch with a wide stand to avoid oil splash at the beginning. Thank you the video, we always learn.
Two things I would like to comment on. One they offer height extensions so you could have raised the car higher. Two I would install a Fumoto Valve it makes changing the oil so much easier, I have them on all of my vehicles. Thank you for taking the time to post the video, EXCELLENT VIDEO.
That’s a good idea with the valve! I actually can get the regular blocks under the car so the extensions wouldn’t work either. I used 2 hockey pucks that works well.
Jack it up lower it on 4 rhino ramps install 6” suv adapters and raise car off ramps boom you just gained that much height. Used this method to lift my t/a off my subframe and pull my engine the easy way
If you want more lift use the quickjack raise it up and lower it on some concrete blocks. Lower QJ and put the suv/truck tall mushroom type pads up and raise it up again.
Be advised. Purchased a Quickjack March 2023. The date code tag on the lift says manufactured April 2021. Quickjack said this is normal. I’m not happy purchasing near two year old stock for near full retail. Keep this in mind.
I think I'd put rhino ramps under the tires after lifting if not removing the wheels for added safety in a worst case scenario . But I've been considering buying one of these for my C4 Corvette or a drive on lift with the scissor jacks
@@LowBoostFilms I've done it a few times myself when using jackstands under the frame alone as a just in case thing , I've used the ramps for wheel chocks as well .
Just as a heads up, I believe you're not supposed to drive over the hydraulic hoses. The instruction manual should point that out, but I've seen a lot of other videos where people specifically mention not driving over the hoses.
Thanks for the excellent explanation, but l saw you driving your car over the hoses, is that correct? Because on the quickjack web site they don’t recommend that. So, it doesn’t cause any damage to the hoses.

I really am impressed with these as my 2 car garage needs one as it’s a 10’ ceiling
Yea there are 2 different locking points. The blocks are great, I also use hockey pucks or specially designed jack points for my corvette and bmws. They help as well. They won’t bend the unibody.
