      The bearings only work when the lift is flat. Once it starts to raise, the bearings on longer make contact with the floor and raise with the lift. Therefore, it's 100% stable.

    Hello there Peter. 1st time that I bumped into your channel. Thank you for the hack on the QuickJack. Quite useful and simple to do. I'm starting to do my homework on them, since I'm looking to get one, (like the 5000 series, being that i also have an older car from the 70s). I like that they don't take a lot of space, since my garage space is limited and though they lift the car up too-too much, it's better than me crawling on the floor with floor jacks, stands etc. I'm not a kid anymore.... (Actually in my middle 60s 😁). One question that i have for you is, i was thinking of using it in my driveway sometimes where I'll have more room width wise...Could i use a decent duty extension cord to make the cord longer, also what amperage-wise, receptacle would i need to safely run this. Thank you for your time and stay well...

    • @TheAutomotiveFanatic
      @TheAutomotiveFanatic 6 дней назад

      Thank you for stopping by and checking out my video! I have used the QJ in my driveway using an extension without issues. However, 2 things...you need to make sure your driveway is level and two, I use would at least a 12/3 rated at 15amps.

      @@TheAutomotiveFanatic thank you Peter for the quick reply. That sounds as I thought. The driveway is quite flat with possibly a very small pitch towards the street but nothing that would make the raised car go out to it. Thank you again. The bearings raise the entire QJ roughly 1/2". The main issue you're going to run into though, from a close to horizontal position, the QJ will not lift your C5. The hydraulic pump is not strong enough. You need to drive your C5 up ramp risers so that the QJ can lift it once it has some vertical lift.

    I've used my bros many times at his place (we help each other often) and consider them quite handy for home gamers with smaller vehicles. Their portability is very nice if you need that, for example if you currently rent your home. I don't own one because I've a Bend Pak-style pantograph lift (much harder to move but not hard to weld on scaffolding caster tube which I'll do before moving it again) but the only reason I have that is it was in new condition for 500 bucks from a shop that never used it and wanted the space for a two-post lift. If you rent either is very nice. If you own, get a two or four post lift possible because they do so much more.

    Is there any fast charger or adapter for tires pumps that can be safely connected to the home outlets ? I’m not comfortable running the car to charge the pump through the cigarette lighter. if so, which ones do you recommend, I’m in the blind here. Thank you.

      I would not waste my money on tires with acoustic insulation. Do they work?marginally. A recent report I read stated that in road testing, acoustic insulation reduced road noise by 1db. If you think the extra cost is worth the price of admission, more power to you. What they are really designed to do, is to absorb road frequencies between 175-220hz.

    I just installed these and your instructions here were helpful. Yes, I noticed that the fit between the two rears was a little different. I checked the fit and the clearance (using a flashlight) to ensure nothing was coming near the rotor and that the two parts that hug the caliper fit snugly. I also wiggled the caliper covers to ensure everything was nice and tight and tightened all the bolts a little at a time to keep things even. The stickers did NOT come installed. I was very annoyed by this because just peeling the stickers was not easy and the lettering kept sticking to the wrong side so I had to fiddle with it. But I did that part in an air conditioned and comfortable place before doing the installation. It took a good 1/2 hour and I really with they'd just put the stickers on for us (but I'm sure there are worse things that can go wrong 🙂so I'm over it). Also, I'm wondering how those stickers will hold up esp. when doing a wash (probably want to avoid a power washer). I still like the look and I'm happy you made the video so thanks!

      @@TheAutomotiveFanatic I figured out that the issue was that the custom settings on the buttons on the bottom of the screen were erased.
