surely if you have a very low car like a Porsche Cayman with very low ground clearance it will not then fit under the car? or am I wrong
You're 100% correct. With this hack, you will have trouble placing the QJ underneath the vehicle. What you will need to do, is to have riser ramps to give the vehicle a little lift.
If that fluid is that bad it should be changed again right away Mine was starting to slip and I changed it several times and saved it and it had another 100k when I sold it No tranny issues and was told it was shot .
I agree, the tranny fluid does need to be changed.
I like the way you showed installation of this rim protector. Thanks it help me installing my rim protector. kudos to your vlog!!!
Thank you for watching and glad you found the video helpful.
I currently have blackvue 750x LTE Plus hard wired, does anyone know if I upgrade to 970x Plus LTE, can I use to the existing wiring for both rear to front camera and power cable? I have the battery pack installed and not really looking forward to strip the interior to rewire!
This is a great question. In reviewing the cable setups on BlackVue's site, there is no clear answer as the 970x LTE is not listed.
Can you show me a 2016 Buick casada transmission change
I'm sorry, I do not have access to a 2016 Buick Casada.
Useless redundant battery drainer lol
Thanks for your input.
Love it buddy, keep up the good work!
always appreciate your support!
No front facing camera needed as a benefit
It's nice to have, but not completely necessary.
I have the version 2 in the steering wheel in MYP works great, ordered this for my other model Y. Is it activated just like the version 2 where you double tap the right scroll wheel to activate? And it’s off unless you double tap?
I believe by default, it's set to be ON.
Thnak you Peter for this awesome video. I did the installation in my Mk3 Audi TT and it worked perfectly!!!
That's great to hear you were successful in installing your puddle lights!
Are the new replacements EV rated Michelin?
No, the new Michelins are not EV rated.
Not bad but I'm more interested in the front wheels that come with the quick jack. They are like button size and one of my quick jacks the wheels are worn flat. So hard to push going from my shed to the driveway . I like to get bigger wheels for them witch I saw on another version like the quick jack. As far as your idea ya it's not bad but I don't have a garage so I'm more interested in getting it from my shed to the driveway. I might still take your idea up but tight now I prefer to replace the wheels on the jack before I go to yours.
Hello TopGun...in your situation, changing the back rolling wheels would be better.
Thanks for the video, figured out that our R56 transmission issue was low on fluid. Did 7 spill and fills but the transmission was still "flaring" higher revs to get going. Added a Rislone Transmission Stop Slip 500ml bottle along with another 500ml of JWS3309 fluid on the last spill and fill. Pumped it all in, started the car, shifted through the gears while on front ramps only. and put the plug in without letting any drain out. Car now will start and shift better than ever, and even start normally on an incline. I'm impressed with the Rislone additive for fixing our issue. Hope to get many more miles out of this car. Acquired it at 117k, lifetime fluid never changed and was baked/burnt. Torque converter happy, transmission happy, family happy. Cheers
Thank you for your key feedback and expertise! I think your addition was idea and am glad it worked out well for you.
I have a 2012 mini Cooper S automatic at what mileage should I change my fluid at I’m at 75,000. I’m not sure if it has been been done yet. I don’t think so.
Just put the Falken Azeris on my MYP…night and day ride quality, way less harsh.
Awesome, great to hear! Did you stick to the same tire size?
Yes…about $1200 total.
@@MC-bm3cy That's not too bad.
My due next and thanks for tires info
@@MR-jt2rh good luck! It will offer some relief from the harsh ride.
What you showed the setup of in this video is not the Tesloid Gen2 that you link to. I like that most of the setup of the tent is inside, which would be great for setting up in the rain. Can you please provide the proper link to this tent, the one that comes in a circular bag? Also, can you share a video on the breakdown process please? Thank you!
Hello Joyce, thanks for watching and the feedback. I believe that Tesloid updated this version to the Gen2 and no longer sell the Gen1.
where is this? when was this posted?
This was posted over a year ago.
Great video. Thanks for sharing What adjustment needs to be made to the caliper bracket so the caliper can sit that much further out to accommodate the larger diameter rotor?
Thanks for watching...in order to move the caliper out further, you need custom bracket adapters. On Rennlist, there is a member named FLewis763 who offered these up for sale. You can reach out to him as he might still make and sell this adapters.

@@TheAutomotiveFanatic Hello, I have already sent you an email. Have you received it? I am Linda from Globaltech
Would your phone's bluetooth be paired to the T9 and your Tesla at the same time? If so, when you receive a call would it direct the call through Android Auto or Tesla? It would effectively be the same but I'm wondering how it will decide.
Great question Dennis. Yes, your phone is paired to both systems. However, when you receive a call, it is picked up by the Tesla system and you're able to answer it.
Why not look at the monitor instead of the mirrors?
Not every one can break old habits of reviewing the mirrors.
I have a late-2023 (HW4.0) MY LR AWD. I swapped out the 19" Gemini's for Model 3 20" Sport Performance rims, which are 6 pounds lighter, and swapped out the stock tires for Hankook ION EV SUV AS 255/40/R20. The stock tires were 255/45/R19. The Hankook's have the foam inserts. The 20" tires look a lot better, and the ride seems to me to be about the same with the new setup - also, the tires are lighter, as well. No range change. Though, I actually would / should have gotten the Hankook ION EV SUV AS 255/45/R20's. I didn't think of it. Kicking myself for it. I feel pretty certain this would have not only made the car look better, but ride even better than the 19" Gemini's and the Hankook's I put on. And no issue with rubbing, either - and would have filled up the wheel well even better. Argh. Next time.
Greatly appreciate you input. So many owners are looking to soften the ride up and this info definitely helps!
Thank you for the easy video on how to install. I’m going to install these this weekend 👍🏾
Glad to hear that the video helped you!
Good video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and the support!
The weight capacity of these is 132 lb.
Thanks for that info. These bearings are not meant to carry the load. Once you have the QJ in place and start lifting, the bearings no longer make contact with the ground. It's then, that the QJ frames take over.
Some people say the display wobbles when driving and using the magnetic holder. Did you find this?
Yes, the screen does move around. It's due to the way the clips fit into the air vent. If you fast forward to 2:58 I discuss this and how to remedy the issue
Is the screen the same resolution as the T8
Thank you for asking. In all honesty, I cannot find the specs on each screen as far as resolution. I have though, seen both and they look identical.
The front of the screen looks nice but the mount makes it look like an after-thought. The seller's sight doesn't have any photos of what it looks like from behind which seems like it might have been omitted on purpose.
Thank you for the comment. That's one item I did not show, is the very back of the screen. There is really nothing to the back except the base that it is attached to.
3m tape and zip ties 😲. You do realize once dirt and rust gets inside those rollers they'll be useless. And let's be realistic here those jacks aren't heavy unless your a complete weakling.
If dirt gets inside or the bearings rust, replace them! It's $10 and 15mins of your time. We can be real here...the 5000TL weighs in at 80lbs per lift. Not every owner is a young buck and WANTS to pick these up all the time. If you need to pick up these lifts and store them, it can be a chore. Leaving them on the floor and rolling them around beats picking them up. Thanks for your input.
This seems pretty complicated set up, DIY won’t be possible for many of us due to needing to adjust ride height after installation measuring each wheel, & then drive it then adjust it again,
Thank you for watching and the comment. Is this DIY for everyone? No, it's not as it can become more complicated like you mentioned. It is though, doable as long as you have the right tools and time.
Great video, Pete. I came looking for answers about that extra connector in the original mirror, and you didn't disappoint.
Thank you for watching and the comment; glad I could help out.
yawn
Yeah, I know I can talk a lot.
Is there any way to update the software on a 2013 japan lexus ct to a newer one, a european one?
Sorry, it's been a while since I did this install. I reckon you would need to replace the entire unit.
GREAT VIDEO
Thanks for watching; glad it was useful to you.
How do you check the trans fluid level in a 2012 countryman?
It's an in-depth process. I talk about it starting at 14:50
👍🙏🤙
Lol - Owners want to put back what Musk takes out to boost his profits.
Thanks for the follow-up video. I just got my quick jacks and set them up according to the QJ video instructions provided by QJ. I have not lifted a vehicle yet because one quick jack seems to lock in place faster (1 second) before the other one. Is this common or have you had this issue? I bleed the system and will bleed it one more time in the morning. I’m wondering if it is because there is no weight on them and going back to your theory in another video of yours where the quick jack dropped on one side of your Audi. Seems yours did not lift evenly in that video where one side locked and the other did not. Did you bleed them again?
Congrats on picking up a set of QJs! QJ actually recommends that you bled the system without any weight on them so you did do it correctly. It's also common when first starting out that the lifts do not engage at the same time. I would go through the entire process one more time for good measures. I also recommend using jack stands underneath you vehicle just to be safe.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic I got them so they are working perfect. I even added the rollers. Thanks
@@jeffreybrown4751 that's outstanding! Sometimes you do have to play around with it.
Had mine for 3 years now and they have been working fine with hundreds of lifts. I had ONE mishap (my fault) when I first got them, I didn't seal the quick connects correctly with thread sealer and I had a leak on one side and my care did this very same thing. One side of my car lowered and that same side had a hydraulic fluid on the floor. Since I fixed my error back then these things have been rock solid.
Great to see another using who has had good lifting experience with the QJ. I sold mine last year and went with a better lift for my needs.
The ride is rough even on the 19" Geminis on the long range model. I'm running 255/45/19s and I have the UP Luxury Suspension kit, still a rough ride.
Changing out the OEM shocks and springs provide the best option.
What's the best place to get the ball bearing casters?
If you're by a Harbor Freight Tools, they have them.
I just bought them at harbor freight last week. Under $6 for all of them.
@@jeffreybrown4751 really? That's cheap!
Thank you so much for taking the time to walk us through this hack. Works like a charm!
I am glad to see that you found this video useful. Thank you for the support!
Hi Peter, I wanna do this on my Porsche997.1 but I’m a bit confused on the oicture that u attached. The ine on the left shows a black/grey diode but on the one with your hand in it shows a blue retifier. So which one exactly did you used. Tq.
Sorry for the confusion. The photo I used was from the original creator so I used it as reference. In my video, I actually used the blue device.
Oh u didn’t used the diode but opted for the rectifier, any reason. Another thing, how did u managed to pushed through the rectifier legs into those pins(red/yellow & yellow/white) the space is very tight..
@@huggysr in all honesty, it was all I had at the time and proved to work ok. As far as pushing the pins down, I was able to manage, just push them in.
That’s a nice accessory if you have a yoke steering… not if you dont
There is some truth to your comment. Having a yoke wheel does allow the screen to be more visible.
@@TheAutomotiveFanatic there’s higher percentage of people who don’t want to drive the Batmobile and want that conventional steering wheel which will obscure that screen unless it’s moved to the perfect position and height.
@@XX-166 You are correct. Having the standard wheel does present more of a challenge.
Thanks for the video. I just purchase a refurbed 5000TL lift direct off their website. I have not yet ran it because: It arrived missing one of the long hoses (as well as the quick release fittings for each end of that), as well as only gave me 2 short blocks (not 4). I have a Porsche Cayman S so I'm almost sure I need those short blocks. The hoses I did receive all had the quick-release ends already attached, I believe the liquid thread sealer was used. So far emailed and sent pics to the company, nothing back yet but it's the first day of a workweek... I saved a little on my lift but hope it will eventually be okay. Any other tips you have would be much appreciated!! Thanks, Madison in Littleton CO. -m
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my video. The 5000TL will have no issues with the Cayman. I would though, recommend that you use riser ramps to get the Cayman up higher. This will allow the QJ to have better lifting power. From a complete horizontal position, the QJ is weak and may have trouble lifting. Make sure you also have all the required parts!
Does this unit also upgrade the Bluetooth connectivity for newer phones
Unfortunately not. It uses the same BT protocol.
Calm down, in was user error. You didn't let it click in correctly, you can hear it in the video.
There is no way the closed loop system would allow itself to lower unless it was losing fluid. Same thing happened to me, I had a puddle by the pump from one of the hoses which I didn't place the thread sealer on correctly. Since that day I fixed the leak and have had this jack for over 3 year with hundred of lifts with ZERO problem.
Saw your video just before setting up my 7000TL. Thank YOU. Those jacks are HEAVY. I also have them hanging on a wall, but this idea had me running to HarborFreight to pick up these Ball bearings. Truly a genius hack, thank you!
I've picked up the 7KTL before and you're right, they are not easy to pick up. Glad this hack helped you!
Hello Peter, Question about using the rubber blocks on pinch welds: do you have any problems with cracking, general durability or safety precautions? Thanks for the information.
I have a set of rubber blocks with the cut out for pinch welds. 6 yrs later, they're still functioning well.
Silly question but does anyone have the approximate dimensions needed for the small 5/8" wood block for the 1" caster mount? And if so, do you think Home Depot or Lowe's would have scrap 5/8" plywood lying around? Curious where people have sourced theirs, since I am not at all a woodworker and don't have a table saw, etc. just to cut these small little pieces. Just need to get the rear 1" ball mounted!!
I believe you could get away with a small 5/8" 4x2 block. Check out Home Depot's scrap section. They also have saws on blocks that you can use.
