U. The levels need skill that apparently u lack off... And that being your job says alot.
just commenting on the most recent video that mojoplays put out and giving ideas for videos ok
Playing on the highest difficulty, apart from that? GoW series is an amazing game that you can keep playing forever, and never master. This game is kinda like MGS, low skills floor, high skills ceiling.
The beginning of Judges of the Underworld 2 level. Those goats are a pain in the ass/butt. I was forced to accept the Easy mode play. Now the rest of the game is in Easy Mode.
I say the very first game had the hardest puzzle: Pandora's Temple. The whole temple was like a huge puzzle altogether.
That game took me 8 hours to beat my first try. It was rough
We all got stuck on the spikes in the floor while kicking that crate to the cliff
@@wisdomwolf1651 that was easy only noobs couldn't pass that segment of the game
@@eddieescobedo9975 that's true
Took me about 3 days to figure that part out
I literally cry of the frustration on the path of Hades on the rotating blade
OMFG I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY ME 🤦♂️
The freaking spiked floor puzzle in the first game where you have to push the block across the floor before the spikes insta kill you. It took me thirty attempts during my first playthrough, and is not an experience I wish to repeat
That is legit worse than the spike pillars at the end of the game
I would take it over the hades one though the one i dislike a bunch is the spike floor in the Labrinth
I had to cal my brother to do it for me I could not make that shit as a kid
@@NorthernVirus0 hades level in first god of war didn't bother me much till get to last part with long and mean long blade shaft at the end, that part can kiss my ass!!!!!
@@viewtifuljoe66 I got ptsd from that part and the rest was just kind of annoying for me the three worst things in god of war was the pillar climb the rotating spike floor in the Labrinth and the normal spike floor in number 1
I hated the part in God of War 2 where there is an elevator going down, you have to use a crank to move it down while the ceiling is collapsing on you, and damn skeletons keep attacking you. I think it was right before the phoenix chamber or something
You can skip this puzzle using a glitch. Jump on the chest, and using L1+X to reach the top and using might of the king using barbarian hammer. They are invisible wall, you can fly through it to the next door
FACTS YES, I REMEMBER!!! GOD AWFUL
This is the worst one
For real, I swear every attempt of beating that part ended with a failure on the last possible occasion. Frustrating as fuck. I still love this game tho.
Fr lol
Alternative title: God of war levels that need skill
Yea fr lol
I agree
Ooooo sorry Mr amazing🤣
@@jackearlam2963 Uhm what do you mean with that ? Because they have some trouble at first it does not mean they are bad. I am playing these games for years and I have not died in these levels since the first time I played them
@@jimbodt28 Your comment comes across like most of the levels have no skill factor and that your "not skilled" enough to do these levels. So what your also saying is that you can safely say that you can complete the whole god of war games in one play through without dying?
In God of War 2, there is a "puzzle" where you have to prevent a man from killing himself by jumping off a ledge. Before he leaps he says "You'll never reach the sisters of fate!". You have to slow down time with your abilities and then continuously roll to him in order to stop him. It sounds easy enough but I had to do it several times. I was tearing my hair out!
lol yeah but i was able to do it in 3-4 attempts. he releases phoenix after that.
I think it's a very easy puzzle
It's not that bad m8,gow 2 had challenging puzzles but they were all fun unlike gow 1 when you reach Pandora's temple that's when everything turns to shit
It's easy it only took me 2 try
@@coldwater9540fr fuck pandoras temple
bro the whole god of war 1 temple of pandora shit was a nightmare
The climbing part was such a damn pain and I’m even more mad they made it a trophy
A trophy that pops up even if you fail lol
@@undergroundvagos8481 they mean do it without taking damage 😐
@@hiagain1 Yes, I know. But I've done it with damage and still got the trophy lol
@@undergroundvagos8481 lies cause if that was the case I wouldn’t make the statement
Somehow I have that trophy if you guys mean God of War 1. I’m not even good at the game and struggled to beat it on hard (very hard was impossible), but I guess I’m better at the platforming than the fighting?
I would take all of these in exchange for Poseidon's little water section in the original God of War where you had to quickly swim into a gap so you don't get pushed to your death be a moving wall. I died more times on that than any other. Complete pita.
Hate that level
That part and the Hades part with rotating spikes nearly made me give up and stop playing, pure soul destroying, 😂😂
noob
That was easy
The Helheim ship level operates about as well as a survival challenge.
Sorry, I didn’t play any god of war except 2018, so I don’t understand this comment… could you explain?
@@rc-pb6bp He refers to the ship in the 2018 game. He means you just have to survive, the Key is to keep the flames going
@@rc-pb6bp dude you’re missing out you need to play the others
I loved GOW 1 for the nostalgia and story, but you have no idea how much I raged on most of the levels
That one level in the first game with hanging on a rope while enemies shoot you, that was the absolute worst.
If you mean the rope I’m thinking of you can go kill those enemies first from a side passage
@@bd4315 True, but if you have low to zero energy, you’re doomed.
@@michaeldanielli7212 just kill them first. They are easy enemies.
You forgot to add one more, which was in God of War 1......that underwater puzzle not too late in the game, if you know which constantly tries to crush you 🤣
niflheim in "give me a balanced experience difficulty" is actually fantastic, i hated it on the harder difficulties though.
The Trial of Archemedes was absolute hell. It should've been on here instead many of these choices.
Still remember that level. Painfull
trial of hades was my worst avoiding those buzz saws then you had to jump them in god of war 1
@@matthewboreham205 I don’t know man. Trial of Archimedes was so bad it had to be nerfed with a patch that gave you green health orbs.
@@IronGold-vz6fvremember i played it before the patch, took me HOURS to beat it. can’t explain the immense satisfaction afterwards
Man that spinning tower of blades in god of war one pissed me off so much it made me mad from seeing it 😂
On some i agree, but i have to say i actually loved River of the forgotten, the Path of Hades and the Architect's tomb and i kinda liked Euryale's defeat too
Ascension trial of Archimedes on the hardest difficulty is seizure-inducing.
Wave after wave of enemies that you have to kill in specific ways or risk being killed with a few hits.
For me it was the entire temple of Poseidon in god of war 1 that underwater moving spikes still give me ptsd
I loved Poseidon Temple it Was so chilled to dive there
Hades got me the most frustrated I have ever been in a video game with the vertical columns with the spinning blades. I eventually realized you had to develop your timing with each set of blades in order to get to the top. Start in a gap and advance, then if you fell do it different the next time until you figure out how to get it done. Keep your successes and change where you fail
It pissed me off so much
Damn i've saved that part, and i'm gonna play it tomorrow, i'm already enraged !
For those that have only ever played from 2018 the old games are worth checking out. GOW3 is a fantastic game and still looks great
ALL the GoW games are fantastic. Even Ascension had it's moments
I’m in the minority, but ima say skip gow1 and 2. Call me short tempered but those two had me screaming at the tv. I fucking sucked at them too, so those mixed made them poor experiences.
@@nolanc9432 gow 2 is great tho
i agree that gow 1 may not be the best but 2 is just goated
@@nolanc9432 i finished 2 for the first time recently and I must say I much preferred it to three but that’s mainly because of the story which i felt was far better
Ahhh yes, Gears of war 3, was in fact, a masterpiece 😂
I’m a simple man…
I see god of war
I watch
The Archimedes trial in GoW Ascension is by far the most annoying level ever in the series, surprised that didn't make the list
Yeah man imagine playing that in Hard Mode
How do you not include the trial of Archimedies from GOW Ascension. That level literally made me quit the game for a year. It's recognised as the hardest level in the game and they even released a patch to make it easier!
I recently played Ascension for the first time and holy shit, I’ve never hated a level more
I vividly remember that level my lady thought I was having a mental breakdown when she found me talking to myself about that level
I’m still stuck on that part, it’s been a year since I played it lol
When was the patch released?
I remember playing through that on standard difficulty without too much grief.
All these levels are fine compared to the spike room in God Of War 1 where you have to push that rock around a corner to jump on a ledge before the timer runs out and the spikes kill you.
i had drift on my controller doing that one😢
Would love to see a top 10 best god of war levels, please do it
1:49 River of the Forgotten mojo is really just selects it as one of the worst levels because of their inability and lack of skill to take out some enemies
Trials of archimedes and niflheim are the only stages in a god of war game that had me frustrated.
The Helheim ship level is fun af cause it has so many waves that I enjoy killing them all with style
protecting kratos' family from his clones in god of war 1 on god difficutly is hard. still haven't beaten it :/
I had to use a GameShark on PS2 to finally beat that part on God difficulty.
Its easy. Use infinite magic when activated rage of the gods. And refuel it by holding O to hug your family. But you must let them hurt your family
@@marcelhuntyupwalukow5005 yeah I already knew that but this shit is still hard.
I always love those puzzle levels. They show that Kratos does not only fight with his muscles. That's where I feel the 2 latest GoW games missed their opportunities. With his son, Kratos now should be able to solve more complex puzzles and they could be put in optional quests. Father and son, having some fun time together.
Still, I understand the point of this video. The difference between 'delicate' and 'frustrating' puzzles are never too far.
Huh, how about the puzzle with the riddle where Kratos is in imminent death threat? Or those saws in Tyr's vault and under the temple?
The trial of fucking Archimedes is the absolute worst bs level in Gow history. Of my several play throughs of the saga, this is the level that accounts for half of the deaths.
Yes.
Literally the only level I could never get through. Couldn’t beat the game because of it
Weird, I never struggled with the guitar hero harp on any of my playthroughs
If you play on the hardest difficulty the top of the list has got to be protect the translator in god of war 2. On the hardest mode the throw damage is so high and any little touch of the translator will kill him. Not to mention the 2 waves before he even gets to the book that you almost have to hide behind the gate and spam the hammer before even coming out. If the checkpoint was right at the book it would be a lot better. The scorpion boss on god of war 3 has got to be up there too with the camera issues.
The translator was hell for me
@@sceplicur8817 Tell me about it. I can’t pass it on Titan difficulty.
@@rubensalcido9464 use the Cronus rage to protect the translator and use your titan rage to main the goat dudes because the basic enemies will infinitely spawn until you kill them
@@rubensalcido9464 wait till you get to the loom chamber fight 💀
Omg the spike column in god of war 1 was so frustrating, i spend a half of an hour to complete it
I hated watching the fights on the Helheim ship. I watched Jacksepticeye's playthrough and at one point of watching him do that part, I thought "When will it end?"
What about protecting the translator in GoW 2? That section on Titan difficult is pure hell. Never had any problem with the harp in GoW 3. It's pretty damn simple.
The spinning pillar with blades that you have to climb almost made me throw my controller and convulse
The good part about failing it repeatedly is that all the spikes follow the same pattern every time so you eventually remember when to jump or move to the side
That musical puzzle Giant harp is pain in the ass
You forgot that goddamn Archimedes trial. Tha part literally almost had me crushing my controller in frustration at 4am
God Of War 1 could just occupy all The places of this list
I just played through the original god of war games and let me tell you... those rotating pillars out of hades can go straight to hell..
wait..
I HATED going up that goddamn bladed pillar!
Archimedes’s trials deserves number 1 by a long shot
It was a pain
I love the first game, but my god that hades section infuriated me purely because of that puller you had to climb with the blades spinning.
Not to mention after you complete the jumps with spikey death saws and shifting platforms you have to fight an absurd amount of Giants with little to no chest around.
Hera’s garden is my most hated puzzle in god of war
On some these I can agree (especially the block puzzle with spikes and the spinning logs in hades those two made me wanna rip my hair out) but I found niflheim really fun actually. So fun that I stayed in that realm for HOURS without noticing. It made my combat a lot quicker when I was done leveling up all the armor in there
Seriously, it was a good level just to pass time after completing the game
You forgot about god of war 2 in the phoenix chamber where you push the statue to block the phoenix
This really helped with my itch to replay gow 2, so glad.
I remember feeling nauseous while playing the labyrinth. Those were fun times.
Im on that lever right now haha
Level*
I LITERALLY JUST FINISHED THE RIVER OF THE FORGOTTEN WITH NO MISTAKES wdym it's annoying????????
same its not that bad
Though a sub-area of a level, I absolutely hated defending Kratos’ family from himself during the Aries fight. Not only was it frustrating, but once you finally complete it, the following scene is so unsatisfying
The god damn spike room in GoW 1 or 2 I don’t remember which one. That one pissed me off to a point it took me 3 days to beat that part because I kept ragging lol
I love how WatchMojo always misses with their top 10 rankings
I really smile when i see this video. It reminds me of the suffering i had not just to complete the game but also have to record it. Have to do it again and again. Record it again and again. People who had played it will know the frustration 😂
My least favorite level is the wooden plank with spinning blades before the giant minotaur inside the Pandora Temple in GoW 1
God I hate that part. I had to "cheat" by using save state on my emulator. If not for Hades, it might've been the worst part of GoW for me.
Pandora’s Temple in the first GOW could be considered one giant puzzle…
This video makes me realize that the GoW collection on the Switch would work nicely.
I've never felt bored of those levels... It's not bad right it's challenging
That spinning tower with the swords sticking out of it was the reason I never finished the original GoW. I didn't even play another one until 2018.
The room full of spikes that come flying back out after you pull a lever in God of war 1 was the worst
That goddam climbing section in hell with the blades almost made me throw my controller against the tv, lol.
Had zero issues with the Helheim ship on hard first time through. It drags on a bit but I don't see the difficulty.
God of war 2 on the way to Clotho, especially on Titan mode is an absolute pain.
Number 1 : God of war ascension : The Trial of Archimedes
the climbing with the blades in GOW1 was horrific…when you thought it was just one but there was another made me almost not wanna complete the game lol
I give you 10/10 for this list MojoPlays! I loathed the Hades level pillars and blades
I enjoyed playing all the God of War games from the beginning to the end. Yes, I even played God of War Betrayal when I had a Nokia phone, but it was the only one I didn't finish.
For me, it was the Trial of Archamedes
I was hoping that would be on here. Easily number 1 imo. Couldn’t even beat ascension because of it
The hardest and ONLY hardest thing in all the God Of Wars I've played was gow2. When you had throw the dead Spartans(?) body in the river go to the other side where the gate didn't go all the way down and intersect the body get it out the little indoor river and drop it on the floor button. It took me I think 1 week before I figured it out.
Edit: I've learned its called the Waterway Puzzle.
Yeah the turning spike thing kicked my ass
Nothing is worst than the spinning Labryinth section in God of War 3. It was nearly impossible on Chaos mode.
It really says something about this series that, aside from the Hades level in the first game (which was so frustrating and poorly controlled that it makes me hesitant to replay the first game, even though I love replaying all the others), all of these levels are still fairly enjoyable in some way and don't ruin the games. There are quite a few games I've played where one specific part is just so completely awful that it leads me to never want to play the game again just so I don't ever have to go through it again, but with God of War, aside from Hades in 1, I never experienced that.
Sure, some of them range from slightly annoying to mildly frustrating, but it really says something that out of this now eight game series, they're all great fun and the only one that isn't totally worth it to me is the first one, which I can forgive because, well... it's the first one. And even then, the rest of the first game aside from that really ain't that bad (bar a few little moments here and there, such as the Hades part of Pandora's temple that features, you guessed it, MORE completely awful spike platforming).
I found Muspelheim in GoW 2018 to be very repetitive. Not so bad on the first climb up the volcano, but some of the requirements to pass the challenges are just frustrating beyond belief (it took me well over a week of attempts to pass the don't-get-hit-by-an-enemy challenge near the end). On subsequent climbs, I typically skip both the don't-get-hit challenge and the kill-enemies-when-they're-in-glowing-rings challenges, which were hard enough the first time around, and I just don't have the skill or patience for them afterward.
I found it helped to alternate my grinding between Muspelheim and Niflheim - travel to the other realm whenever I started to get bored or frustrated with whatever realm I was in at the time. Really slows the pace of the game, but worth it to get the fully-upgraded Ivaldi armor set in preparation for the fight against Sigrun.
Hræsvelgr: *stares*
Atreus: "Mimir, what can you tell us about that bird?"
Mimir: "Well..."
Draugr and Revenants: *arrives*
Mimir: "That story will have to wait."
We will see in Ragnarök
God of War 2, Titan Mode difficulty. The level before you enter the last temple of the Sister of Fate, when you have to fight those never ending beasts. That level still gives me nightmares.
The level with harpees and archers before getting pandora box was obnoxious as hell on hard mode
And they say Kratos is just strength. This puzzles required a lot of intelligence and persistence
The harp is one of my favourite parts of the game lmao. Never once had a problem with it
Im surprised you didn’t add the final boss in the first god of war. Now that was hell
The architects tomb made me a fan. I thought it was brilliant! I loved following his tragedy
Niflheim is a great optional dungeon, seriously
How did the Trial of Archimedes from Ascension not make this list?
I hope they remaster/remake the original God of War games someday for PS5. Would love to see those with today's graphics.
A great video and some truly frustrating moments😠 Hades takes it for me. Nearly drove me insane getting out of there. Completely sadistic.
SAME
That level in gow 1 where you had to climb the pillars of spikes I literally wanted to throw my control at the wall
Believe it or not, I was able to go through that number one spot on my first try.
The worst part of GoW 2018 was definitely that timed elevator part. What were they thinking putting a revenant when you got like 15 seconds left???
I think the god of war 1 just outside athens to the left where you need to place centaur on a button to open the door, was stuck there for like months
I would say that block with insta kill spikes is harder that euryale's defeat it was so frustrating specially if you're not that good with the kicks
The challenge of hades especially the tightrope section is super frustrating
The blades of hades in gow 1 was the most frustrating level for me. I'm surprised it's not on the list
No trial of archimedes from ascension? That part took me a lil while to beat
Niflheim really isn't that hard, once you figure out the mechanism of the maze so you can travel to the best rooms and back quickly, it's just a case of farming the area. I ended up really enjoying it.
On higher difficulties once you get past the tedious part of getting a mist armor it becomes much more enjoyable.
Nothing will ever match the infamous spiked columns, that’s why they have a gold trophy about jumping up with no damage taken 😂
Boy this reminded me of some long days and hot play stations.
All of this and not even one mention of the Ascension level and boss encounter that was so unfairly hard that it literally had to be patched.
Niffelheim isn't obligatory so I wouldn't really include, but for me GoW I and II would take up the entire list. Some of those levels were torture, I hated the ending too, where you had to push through a room of fire and enemies only some pillarts defendig you (if I remember correctly). The fist 2 GoW games were punishing even on lower difficulties. The 2018 game however wasn't really that unfair even at its hardest points.
