- Kratos has delivered some brutal kills over his tenure as the God of War. For this list, we’ll be looking at the antagonists that Kratos took down in his quests over the years. These are primarily based on the set up before the fights and the impact that killing off these characters have on Kratos and players of the series. Our countdown includes Perseus from "God of War II" (2007), Ares from "God of War" (2005), Cronos from "God of War III" (2010), and more! We know that the game has a PLACEHOLDER of 9/30/2022 & that Santa Monica Studio IS enjoying TORTURING us by not dropping the pre-order's.
I wanna be able to pre-order the game HL, Hogwart's Legacy, when the time come's but since I'm committed to getting the best GOWR pre-order that I can then I might miss out of pre-ordering HL.
I want both game's but GOWR is my priority.
The Sigrun boss fight is next level, when I finally beat her after trying for a couple days, it was nothing but pure joy. Amazing boss fight and game overall.
One of the most satisfying for me was Hermes. He makes you chase him for a bit and then the fight itself against him where he runs and attacks was so annoying. I enjoyed when Kratos cut off his legs. Zeus was definitely satisfying too since he put Kratos through so much.
Pretty sure we all did it, but I stayed mashing the circle button when bashing his head in.

The fact that the gods, who were supposed to be immortal, can be killed in this game is mind blowing.

Since it was a curse that Greek pantheon should die in the hands of a marked warrior
U can already notice this as Even in GOW 2 end Kratos stabbed Zeus with multiple times and made big a$$$ cuts in his body
Even then he just casually recoverd from it within seconds
Kratos only killed Zeus with his hands
It's all taking place according to the curse
We all know that the most satisfactory boss fight was against Aphrodite

Funny, when I beat Sigrun to get the Platinum, all I felt was 'relief' that I didn't have to put up with the likes of that again...

Waaaay back before it came out on PS2, I played a demo for God of War. I felt a rush like no other game during the Hydra fight. It was then that I knew I was getting that game whenever it came out no matter what. To me, that was one of the most memorable GoW kills.
I found Sigrun to be not so hard when you’ve been memorizing her attacks from the prior Valkyries and build a setup around realm shifts. Zeus on the other hand, you need to maximize your play style throughout the *whole game* to max out your arsenal

I went through the ordeal of Sigrun not too long ago, my god was that worth all that effort…
You forgot to mention that Hercules was voiced by Kevin Sorbo a.k.a. T.V.'s live-action Hercules.
Took me over 30 attempts to beat sigrun. What a fucker that was. Great to finally win in the end though.
It took me an hour and 30 minutes to finally beat sigrun and i got so close to rage quitting EVERY TIME i died so killing her was the biggest possible relief ever

Not saying i don't love the Norse saga,but this are the most enjoyable to me
It's notable that killing Baldur happens in a cutscene, while in previous God of Wars, the action must be done by the player. I just think the older games were a lot better when it came to bosses (both in gameplay and in emotional connection) so this is something I hope the new one can improve upon.
Anyway, the most satisfying for me was Hermes
It took me a couple of times to defeat sigrun, once I defeated her I felt so relieved
I beat Sigrun without the time slow thing. Beat her the same way Kratos instructed Atreus. Powerful weapons and DISCIPLINE. Patience and focus were my friends. Block her blockable scythe swing. Never dodge it as she tracks you too hard. Block? Block break. Feather darts? Block. Wait them out and dodge her inevitable unblockable shot. Spin up for ground slam and blind? Bail out fast. Everything has a point-counter-point to it.

I beat all the God of Wars on the Hardest modes. Beating Sigrun on give me God of War mode is my greatest gaming achievement.
Sigrun had me sweating bro, I drank a whole gallon of water after defeating her
When Kratos killed Baldur after his invincibility was taken away via the Mistletoe Arrow he actually thought he was doing the right thing as Baldur thanks to his insanity was so far gone going so far as to kill all 3 of them himself, Atreus, and his own mother Freya/Frigg that Kratos felt he had no choice but to step in. Again I understand why Freya/Frigg wants to kill Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok/God of War 5 she wants to avenge her son's death but this time Kratos willingly killed a god for the right reasons that being he saw that Baldur due to his insanity was going to try and kill all 3 of them so he felt in order to protect Atreus, and Freya/Frigg from what could've been the Norse version of him but worse that he had to fight with intent to kill. Hence why before killing him Kratos states "The cycle ends here, we must be better then this."
I want to throw my little story about Helios death. Because it was in the Demo and I had NO IDEA that was about to happen and it made me absolutely terrified of Kratos for years.
You poor soul, I can't imagine the trauma of your first experience with the game being so brutal and vile. Did you get better at handling it?
Yo hermes should also been on here his death was one of the most satisfying because the amount of times he taunted you about his speed and how Kratos was nothing to him. So seeing and interacting with his death was satisfying. And it was slow so you can feel Kratos's rage towards him.
Apollo was a dope visual... but I found Hermes more satisfying. Shutting up Perseus felt good. And Sigrun has to be the #1.
Zeus's kill was Hella satisfying
In Greek mythology, the Titan Cronos feared one day that his children would overthrow him, thus he chose to devour his children.

I don't know how, but I managed to beat Sigrun TWICE, you can't imagine how powerful I feel.

A mention should go to the Cerberus breeder in GOW3. Specifically the one you fight that’s backed by sayters. On chaos mode it’s one of the hardest
What about Hades? Not that you can get personally angry on him, he is more depressed than the orher characters. But this slow build up by multiple underworld trips, the many statues and hints by gifts you get on him are enough of a build up for sucking out his soul and making the king of everything terrifying a part of yourself.
Most of these enemies would have survived if they simply got out of Kratos's way. But stubborn is as stubborn does, a character flaw as old as time.
i like when Kratos kills Cronos and also when Kratos and BALDUR go at it i like that fight it was insane
Even after playing several times, I still have to turn away from the screen during the bit where Kratos rips Cronos's stomach open and the intestines pop out. 🤢
As an aside though. The 12 Trials of Hercules is crying out for a game rendition. God of War meets Shadow of the Colossus

I tried to beat Sigrun for at least 2 hours of losing over and over on the most difficult level, i had to learn every move that she makes and how to respond it amost instantly, damn i was proud when i finnaly beat her

Fun fact Perseus in God of war 2 was voiced by Harry Hamlin, he played Perseus in the 1981 version of Clash of the Titans
And Hercules was voiced by Kevin Sorbo, of "Hercules: the Legendary Journeys" fame.

Is really sigrun that difficult after beating all the other valkyries? I mean her atacks are just the other vlakyrie's atacks combined so if you know how dodge and deal with all of them it's pretty easy, she still has a lot of health and does a lot of damage so I can understand why people find her hard, obviously she is supposed to be the final boss and the hardest of the game.
