In a lot of the GOW games the bosses aren't the hardest challenges in the game, there are usually a part in the game where before you face the final boss(es) you have to fight waves upon waves of enemies, I call these sections of the game the "final gambit" GOW3 has two of these segments (one where you are trying to exit Pandora's labyrinth & the other is when you're trying to break the three Judges' chain where you have to fight the Cerberus & Satyrs
Breaking the three judges chains in the hardest difficulty was the worst part of the game for me.
@@andresfajardo6838 I agree with you, that one was a pain, usually the "final gambits" as I like to call them, are usually the worst part, I think the worst one in the entire series might be either from GOW3 or Ascension

Sigrun is such a well contradicted Super Boss and it’s sooooo satisfying to beat her. She has the combined move set of every Valkyrie before her, stacking them upon themselves in the most difficult to anticipate attack patterns. It’s a real satisfying feeling when you figure her out and finally take her down.
I remember Charon, had a hard time with him.
I think that Sigrun will never stop giving gamer's a hard time.

I've never seen Kratos madder than that segment. Why exactly he got so attached to a character he literally had just met is why the plot in 3 is a lot weaker than 1 and 2, but man, that final boss battle was epic as hell.

@@Jizzzmani I tried to beat sigrun for over a week and I gave up. I killed the king on my second or third try and best the knew valkyrie queen in 4 tries . It took me more attempts to kill nidhogg than it took to kill every other boss in GOWR
I dont recall if I had more difficulty fighting the scorpion or zeus in 3 hard mode, but i clearly remember me being upset with Zeus

@@starwhale3070 Yes, I spent forever on the first phase of Zeus. The Gaia one was really tough, but I was so happy to beat it! I can't imagine playing on Chaos mode. I remember I tried the first God of War on the unlockable very hard mode (God mode I think it's called?) just to see what it was like. Lord, I got my ass kicked so fast. I doubt I could beat Poseidon on Chaos mode.
To be honest the queen isn't too bad. The other valkyries perfectly train you for this moment

Having beaten all the games on the highest difficulty except betrayal ( never played it ) , my list for the highest difficulty in each game would go like this :
God of War 1 - Ares - No debate to be had here , that p2 is a nightmare , even with checkpoints after every phase it took me like 2 hours to beat this boss , if there were no checkpoints this fight would be hell .
God of War 2 - Theseus - His p2 is very hard with him spamming magic from his spear and creating ice spikes on the floor which will one shot you and you still have to fight waves of minotaurs , even tho p1 is pretty easy not having a checkpoint makes it annoying having to do it again and again after you die in p2 .
Barbarian King would easily be the hardest boss if he didn't have a checkpoint but since he does he isn't solely for that reason .
Zeus would be the third hardest mostly because of his annoying last phase .
God of War 3 - Cerberus Breeder - awful boss on the highest difficulty , especially the satyrs , took me 2 hours to beat this mutt .
Second would be Skorpius
Zeus would be my third toughest boss ( not that difficult with the nemesis whip for the clones )
God of War Chains of Olympus - Persephone - More difficult than Charon imo but not that bad once you get the hang of it .
Charon would be my second toughest boss .
God of War Ghost of Sparta - Thanatos - definitely the hardest boss in the game but not that bad really .
God of War Ascension - Aegaeon - he hits very hard and on some sections you have to kill him fast like when he attacks you with his mouth with all the minions on the ground , the bosses in this game are not really that hard overall tbh .
God of War 2018 - Sigrun for sure , hard until you learn the fight but once you do she really isn't all that bad on ng or ng + .
The hardest ,, main boss ,, would be the final boss fight with Baldur , not hard per say but can kill you very fast if you make a mistake .
God of War Betrayal - Never played it so can't comment on it .
Nah man, all of these are easier once you learn their patterns the problem with Sigrun is how man of her moves mimick something else so you have to remember 2 of each set up. With Zeus and ares you just have to wait for an opening. Sigrun you can bully her but too much have to go right. On top of 2 to 3 hits to kill you with her as opposed to 4 or 5 for the other two gods.
@@Jburneyjr Zeus isn't the hardest boss and I never wrote he was , it really is about counter attacking . Ares I was mostly referring to the second phase with the clones , not that much about where you fight him personally .
Sigrun is a fight that becomes pretty easy when you learn her moves but it takes a while for that to happen , once you learn how she moves and how you should move and counter she really is not that bad at all .
Generally if she moves to the left you block , if she moves to the right or in the middle you move and dodge to the right .
I have beaten her as a lvl 1 hitless on both ng and ng+ . Sigrun is the best boss in the GOW series and that is why I enjoyed fighting her so much . Zeus in 2 or 3 was never the best or the hardest boss for me but he can be annoying but it didn't take me long to beat him even on the highest difficulty .
Baldur can kill you? Maybe if you let go gamepad, Sigrun on the other hand can kill you with 2 moves, I dont remember seeing than in any game.
@@ridersclub6470 I never said Baldur was ,, hard ,, but he is the hardest main story boss on the highest difficulty imo , especially in the last phase when he switches between fire and ice a mistimed parry and he can easily remove half your hp and the fight takes a while so yeah you can die , also I wasn't that well upgraded going into it since I did more optional content later .
Sigrun can kill you in 2 moves , hell she can kill you in 1 move with some attacks but I played and practiced Sigrun for hours , tens of hours , while on Baldur I died a handful of times . Now Sigrun for me is a piece of cake since I know her moveset like the back of my hand but it takes a long while to learn her moves for sure .
@@saula8948 Agree with you in all the ones that I played. I would also mention Euryale from gow2 on Titan difficulty. She was the second hardest for me after Theseus ._.
I personally found Persephone to be tougher than Charon...I hated seeing the cutscene before her fight over and over.
I also found Aegeon to be a joke.
Agreed, playing the game on hard charon only took 2 tries he was easy to counter but Persephone is just a cesspool of demotivation with her cutscene and how the fight can end in a flash

looking back except of Valkyrie’s, that are obvious, I remember Theseus on hard difficulty in GoW 2 was the biggest challenge for me.
The valkyrie in the poison mist realm was the most annoying and frustrating one. You are literally on a time limit
Sigrun was hard, but at least I didn't have worry about running out of time. I could try and take it slow.
Though the time limit wasn't as hard if 1-you had at least one piece of equipment against it, and 2-if you focused on getting to the fight, not battling enemies, and getting a chest or another in the middle roads to replenish some air.
Because really, that Valkyrie outside of the smoke is pretty easy. Her unique attack just needs a shield and a dodge. Meanwhile Sigrun has that and then follows up immediately with something else.
To be honest that was the only valkyrie I beat on my first try. The others not so much though except for the first one and especially sigrun lol

Fighting Hildr (the name of the Valkyrja you’ve mentioned) _does_ seem more difficult when you’re on a time limit…
(PS: Valkyrja is the Old Norse version of the word Valkyrie, for those who’re wondering.)
Honestly as long as your armor and health slow down the mist effects, She has the lowest heath bar to deal with as the mist is to slow you down. also ressurection stones are a must for valkryie fights.
The hardest boss in GOW 3 was by far the labyrinth scorpion! That thing was soo annoying to beat on God mode
YES dude i remember wondering why i had to suddenly fight this strong as shit crystal scorpion. It was much harder than ANY other boss in the game for me on god mode, dozens of tries, but satisfying to finally beat it
Zeus, Hades, and the cerberus fight with the exploding dogs were harder imo but ice scorpion was the 4th most difficult for me. You can counter dodge his attacks pretty easily and even if you don't think you can counter in time you can use magic

It took me 2 days to fight and kill Sigrun the Valkyrie Queen. I died countless times the first day, but on the second day, it only took me two times to fight her. So in a way, it was 2 for the Price of 1 going 2 ways: 2 Days and 2 Tries on Day 2
I find that whenever I take a 5-10 min break, I’ll beat the Valkyrie in a few tries. I think that’s the secret for me lol
On week one you one shot her with a pebble 💀
Besides the valkyries, I haven't had problems with any GOW bosses. In this series bosses are an expperience, not so much a gut wrenching challenge.
The berserkers are ridiculously hard
@@anthonyj6092 which berserkers did you have the most trouble with? I hated fighting the two that where together in svartalfheim, they seemed to be a lot harder than every other boss in the game, even the king, Gna and the three berserkers together
@@brandonbrown5023 the 3 in Alfheim took me forever to beat and the one in Niflheim with the bifrost is still giving me trouble
@@anthonyj6092 oh I forgot about the one in Niflheim, his bifrost attacks where super annoying. It is honestly trial and error with him. I tried to beat him a few times and lost so I just came back the next day and listened to music while I tried to beat him

So as someone who beat all games on the highest difficulty i find zeus (gow3), ares, the furies at the gauntlet of apollo, Persephone and of course sigrun the hardest. I found it interessting that you found thanatos so challenging, gow gos was in my opinion the esiest
i am replaying every gow before ragnarok and for me its ares, sisters of fate, sigrun and this stupid giant scorpion thing from gow 3. Bosses like hercules and this crab are the hardest for me because of these minions. if youre playing on hardest difficulty then small hit can take like 1/4 of your hp. you have to focus on both minions and boss because if boss hits you then youre dead. I had problems with hercules because the minions (i forgot their name) were disabling me what made an opportunity for hercules to one hit me.

I beg to differ for the original god of war. Ares was child's play for the last part in the underworld. Those moving spikes and platform you have to climb was a living hell
Yeah, idk. I haven't died to that climb in hades for many a playthrough. Ares on higher difficulties however i haven't defeated 1st try even a single time. The 2nd phase with the Kratos clones is just too ridiculous.

GoW 1 - Yup, Ares is technically the only challenge in this game aside from Hades stage.
GoW 2 - Hell nah, Zeus was easy. It's Theseus that's a pain in the ass. Probably spent more time against him than I did to all the other bosses combined.
GoWCoO - Yup, Charon takes the cake.
GoWGoS - Probably the easiest game in the franchise. I was gonna argue about Thanatos being the hardest but remembered every other boss was piss easy.
GoW 3 - Again, not Zeus. Round 1's the most challenging of the fight and that says a lot, Round 2 is just a filler, Round 3 isn't even a challenge anymore because of the aerial grab exploit. What's hard? The damn scorpion. Not because it is HARD hard but because the respawn point takes you back to the very beginning of the fight so if you screw up then back you go. In harder difficulties this was the biggest pain. Hades was a close second.

Since Kratos has done the impossible, I did too. I completed all 6 Ps3 and Psp God of War games in all October but 1 day of November
Beating sigrun in give me god of war is my most satisfying achievement in my life and nobody can make me think differently

In Gow ragnarok for me the hardest was the king berseker. It took me nearly an hour of trial and error
There only 2 I stances in the whole god of war series that was hard. 1st was on god of war 1. On god mode when you fight ares in the final battle and you have to protect your family from your doppelgängers. 2nd is the Final Valkyrie in god of war 4. Screw that B. It was so satisfying when I destroyed her.

I finally beat Sigrun. Never thought I would now she's easy af. Equip the right armor set. Max it out & use the right relics. You seriously pretty much can relic spam through her.
The hardest think about gow is solving the puzzle and walk through every obstacle, that's so frustrating
I don’t know many bosses but the hardest one I’ve beaten was Rota, Hildr, or Eir
Rota drove me nuts. Every time I hear the word "Valhalla" I have flashbacks. Hildr wasn't too bad but getting to her? Omg.

GOW - Ares (especially the clones on God Mode)
GOW 2 - I'd probably go with Theseus since it's so early in the game and Kratos isn't leveled up much by then
Chains of Olympus - Persephone (especially on God Mode) but once you get her attack patterns down she's still not that hard
GOW 3 - labyrinth scorpion (just due to the poor hit detection on this boss)
Ghost of Sparta - the keres wraiths with the cyclops were harder than any boss in that game

WRONG! The hardest boss in GoW3 is the scorpion.
Chaos mode:
-Like 12 minions
-Everyone can kill you, especially the scorpion in one or two strikes.
-you barely heal from killing the minions.
-breaking its legs is tedius and more difficult than what you expect.
-The final section requires you to dodge every single projectile it trows at you, horrible.
if you wear full valkyrie armor, sigrun literally does no demage and turns into one of the easiest boss fight in the game

I did the math for when I faced Sigrun in New Game+ and I figure each attempt took me an average of 30 seconds. 6 hours of attempts puts me at a total of about 720 attempts. I almost cried when I beat her

I replayed god of war 2018 and got the best armor and I fully maxed everything out and it still took me 5 times to kill sirgun

I already had my doubts that you actually truly played those games when you said Charon was a harder boss than Persephone in God of War Chains of Olympus. But to call anyone hardest besides the Cerberus breeder in GoW III which is universally considered to be the by far hardest boss in the game just proves it.

Playing this game on very hard mode needs sharp skills God of war 1 and 2 I've played in very hard mode took me 3 months especially the clones part

Most hardest for me was Pollux and Castor...Too bad they were not on this list
Normal size Zeus in GOW 2 was easy for me bc I'd go into Titan Rage which gives stronger and faster attacks as well as infinite magic. I'd just spam the electricity AOE attack (I forget the name now) and swing the Blade of Olympus while he takes chip damage. Normally gets me through the fighting phase until he takes the blade and the cycle restarts
God of War 4, literally any enemy that got possessed by the nightmares early on in game.

You forgot to put a skorpius queen from god of war 3, i played on chaos mode, that was stressfull as hell

Putting the current gen GOW aside, the hardest parts of GOW were always the later level combination of minions. i.e. fighting the harpes and archers in GOW 1 before finding Pandora’s box.
God of war 3 Zeus was so easy bro but idk why I can’t defeat Heracles for the 10th time

God of war- Ares. The bosses were piss easy.
God of War2- Theseus.
God of War3- the Scorpion.
God of War- Ascension. None of them.
God of War Chains of olympus. Persephone.
Ghost of Sparta- Thanatos
God of Four- Sigrun
God of Five- King Hrolf

God of war 1:hardest boss Ares (not disagreeing)
God of War 2:Fates(Especially Clotho) Zeus is a push over
God of War 3:Kronos. Zeus is again very punishable if thought out
Ascension:Pain in the ass would be the fury sisters. Aegeon is very punishable and easy to hit.
