Thanks for the comment and for watching 👀 😀. How do you find watching videos about daf from a merc technician perspective? Do you want me to do some more mercs?
@TRUCKTECHUK started my apprenticeship at merc wen I was 18. 26 now and been on service 24 for 3 years. I've probably watched 97% of ur content and most faults are similar especially with wiring !! Would be great pal. Mercs have gotta be the most complex out all !
always like watching your vids .and like you said these diagnostic tablets will never have the same information as the dealer ones but then again they probably don't cost as much which makes it better for smaller garages to carry out basic diagnostics and repairs 👍
Hi Steve, thanks for the comment and for watching the content buddy 😎👌. Your Bob on buddy. Dealer tools are specific to the manufacturer and cost 13k (davie-4) and a subscription of 5k a year. The more work a diagnostic tool manufacturer can put into an aftermarket tool the more I'd be likely to recommend it or give a glowing review. I don't believe you can beat jaltest for diagrams and functionality everything down from that is missing something in someway unfortunately 😕
Very good to see the topdon and how clear it is. Beware Texa very unclear guidance and caused ecas ecu to stop responding had to send to dealer .(some issue around calibration /validation and no proper guidance in the texa not like topdon Very much like your no frills and concise approach I wish I had half your knowledge
Sorry, I've just seen this! Topdon is a good tablet but not as comprehensive as jaltest BUT when the price comes into the equation you get what you pay for 👀
Spring eye Bush also is the " the right tool " ad well. . Need to ask. What special socket do you use on a pm sensor on an xf. Being 24mm no one does a nox sensor socket 24mm......
Ha ha ha Ben I will try that next time. 😉 I made my pm sensor socket so I've now given the pattern to an engineering company to make and will be selling pm sensor sockets just like the crankshaft tools I've got on trucktechuk.com/collection/all if your after one
I have designed a tool for doing the compressor head gaskets. Just off set socket and the broch the 3/8th for ratchet one end and the torx size the other
Tidy buddy you should get them on eBay or Amazon. The only specs I have of that tool are the ones Daf supplied everyone, you think they would have made it a special tool by now 😅
Hey, thanks for the comment. If i had to pick it would be jaltest uk.....not only are you getting the functionality of a dealer tool without the programming but the support you will receive from Eclipse in the UK is second to none. If you're looking to purchase jaltest in the UK mention truck tech uk.........all will become clear in the next few weeks on why this is advantageous 😀
Hello Dear friend, I am very sorry that I do not understand your language. Playing the clip, I understand very few points. I wish I knew your language and used your clips. with regards
Nothing to do with suspension.... but why has daf changed the style of brake pads and sensors on the 22.5 set up for 2022 models. Now have inner and outer pads. Different bar to hold them in.. why change what's not broken...
Hey, Ben hope you are well buddy. I'd of replied yesterday but been crazy busy. Now from what I understand not all of the trucks have changed pads and calipers. You have come across what I'd say is an option on new generation Daf where the brake callipers have an active release to prevent friction losses when the brakes are not applied. They pull the pads away from the brake disc which presents friction loss and as such decreases fuel consumption.
@TRUCKTECHUK I have now changed 7-8 sets of pads all been on the rear of 2 axle ridgids. Down to 4-6mm and only done 50-60,000 km. They are wearing out so quick.
@benforbes1415 lots of factors to take into account to identify an issue here such as work done such as short or motorway miles, driver abuse, and period loaded. If you're seeing this over different companies you could raise a concern with daf as they won't be able to identify and investigate issues if people don't tell them about it
I'm a merc truck main dealer tech. Enjoy ur videos. Great stuff pal. Keep it up.

Je ne comprends pas sous-developper pour les camions
It's not very good for diagnostics 👍
OK mais vous pouvez me conseiller le quel une bonne valise diagnostic pour daf euro 6
If it's UST Daf Euro-6 and JUST fault codes, not fuel system diagnostics this will be fine but it's 2500 to buy and 500 every 2 years for a license.
