  • I am going to give you my 5 Reasons You SHOULD buy the Simmons SD600 Drum Set. e-Drums get a bad rap from many drummers but if you've got a home studio you might want to consider them over setting up an acoustic set. Are they the best for the money?

    Just bought and set this up tonight after months of thinking, shopping around and then last week going to a store and trying out a few sets. Thank you for your review, the setup video.

    I've watched several of your reviews on the e-sets and it's really helped in gaining knowledge about these kits. I've been playing acoustic for 20 plus years and my wife said she needed quiet. Hopefully we'll wind up with something that pleases both of us!

      Wow…. Why does she “need” quiet!!! It’s drums not guitar. Lol 😂 if it was I’d understand needing quiet but drum as so soothing! It’s like sleeping to the sound of a waterfall except it’s cooler! 😂😂😂

    Well guess what! I subscribed just now! Been looking at comparisons with the SD600 and Alesis Command Mesh. Both seem to be great kits

    I am liking my hybrid set of acoustic cymbals and electronic drums. I am looking into some electronic kits for late night options, but I really enjoy having the best of both worlds.

      I thought about doing that for live sessions.

      I actually just ordered the SD 600 before you commented. I'm excited for the late night practice option.

    I’m in a pickle boss!!
    I’ve been looking at the Simmons SD600 and so far loving it but have heard that the Alesis nitro mesh is a good kit and for half the price.
    Any tips?

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад

      Get the SD600…😐
      If price is an issue then go with the Alesis but… I truly believe that SIMMONS makes a superior product. I think the Nitro Mesh is about to be discontinued and replaced with a newer product. That means you can get a good deal but it also means you could be buying an obsolete product.
      The SIMMONS will give you way more options with its Bluetooth connectivity and the available app that will make practice and other things a lot easier.

    I'm thinking about either getting sd600 or alesis command mesh kit. They seem pretty similar, do you have thoughts on that? Thanks and great channel!

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад +2

      Thanks…. At that price point they’re almost identical. The thing that sets the Simmons ahead is the app capabilities. If you have iPhone or iPad the simmons is the way to go. No question!!!!

    Just bought the sd600. It's won't take the place of the real deal but it has its place. I played gigs and at 2:30 in morning is major problem breaking down your kit. Cymbals, cases and just tired. Not looking to go back out but wanting play and not wake up the neighbors.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  3 года назад +1

      Exactly!!! I’m trying to get used to it too. Since mine stays out it’s even more perfect!

    Are drum pads like the roland pdx 8 compatible with the Simmons sd600 module?

  • @tylerwood300

    How do you get the different sounds? Just wondering 💭

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  3 года назад

      What do you mean? Are you asking if you can add sounds to the module? The way I use mine I actually don’t use the module sounds. I use the wound in Logic Pro X. Of course that means any sounds that are native or that I’ve downloaded all can be played.

    Hi ace, can you tell me if you can and how to hook up a second identical simmons kickpad/pedal assembly to replace the hi hat pedal since I don't use hi hats. Just wanted the same feel on both pads and didn't want to use the hi hat pedal reassigned. Thanks very much.

    • @KeithronPowell

      Buy a soluble bass pedal.

      @@KeithronPowell I'm 67 KP. Thanks. Not trying to be a pain and I know your suggestion will work but I have 2 compete identical pad/ beater/pedals and want to go that route. That's pretty small head to have 2 beaters hit it. Shouldn't I be able to reassign the hi hat sound to a bass drum sound using the kit edit system when I connect the module to the pedal and pad assembly using the existing cord? Thanks Maestro!

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  Год назад +1

      @@jaybrowne702 it’s designed for 2 but if you have to you can plug the cable in and change the sound in the module or with the app.

      That’s a big jump from “I can’t decide between” to a completely different brand that wasn’t on the list. 😂😂😂 I walked away from Roland over price. I’ve used the SD600s on multiple studio recording and the projects are out. For the money and in the studio I thought the SD600s were the better buy.
      I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Roland’s though.
