They just release an expansion kit for the SD600. You can buy it at Guitar Center. Extra Tom and extra Cymbal including the cables and mounts. Its worth it IMO for only $99.
Hi, thanks for the great insight into this kit! I really like the acoustic sounds. Just wondering what dimensions are the rack. They never seem to supply this information with the kit specs and it's so important for those with tiny spaces!
I know Im randomly asking but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Marshall Turner Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hi just got my new sd600 like 3 days ago and love it. Found you here and appreciate this demo very much. However I’m baffled as to the Bluetooth connection what dose it? Should I be able to hear the music from my iTunes library? Do you have or know of a tutorial for it? Would you be will to teach me? I would pay you. Thanks in advance Richie
Cool thing I just learned about edrums is that you can add sounds through software by using programs like Superior Drummer 3 and make them sound realistic and whatever you want them to sound like. That software cost 400$ though.. Worth it I think.
I have Alesis sample pad And a Simmons SD 600 drum set my question is for you how do you connect the Alesis sample pad To the Simmons SD 600 drum set is it possible and what do i need to get
Was just browsing Guitar Center for cheap e-kits and saw this. Pretty exciting to see. Was thinking of getting the 550 but this definitely looks nicer. Only thing that sucks is I use android so the app isn't really an option for me.
@@gregkocis yeah. Good price for a full size kit with mesh heads. That's why I was looking at the 550, but that uses an integrated kick pedal, which I hate, so it's cool to see this features a kick pad tower. The Bluetooth MIDI is probably helpful as well, although I usually don't use any software beyond the built-in module.
@@gregkocis oh, one last thing; do you know if the hi hat controller can do a "foot splash" sound? From what I remember most of the cheaper simmons don't do this, but I think the SD2000 might.
Definitely sounds good for the price of the kit. I own an always dm10, so not quite as good of sounds specifically in the cymbals but good nonetheless. One of the better electronic kits I’ve heard for its price range
Hey, in the review you mention that you can use the Simmons pads with other modules. How is that possible if the Simmons SD600 pads terminate in the multi-pin style harness instead of normal quarter inch jacks? Thinking about grabbing this kit and using it to expand an existing one, and yours is the only video that's mentioned it. I don't get it!
Might be a dumb question, but I got this as my first ever e-kit and I would like to add a second crash to it. Would an SD-1200 expansion be compatible with this kit?
@@Codcutter0526 At the left end of the part where everything plugs in, there are jacks for an extra tom and crash. I haven't bought an SD-1200 crash and experimented with it, though.
Hello, does anyone knows if when recording midi to a daw, if the midi information about velocity, release/sustain also are recorded? Thanks in advance. Other question is if, can we create own kits and add more sounds from a sample library? Thank you guys :)
Can you switch the ride to a 3 zone? Can you enable cross stick and rim shot at the same time? Is the bass tower double pedal compatible? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I really like the Simmons kit. It’s a great bang for the buck. And it was much much better than I expected for this price range. Go to your local guitar center and check it out
Maxwell Lassel I just set this up lay night, so far it sounds really good, I feel I need an additional crash cymbal, and I wish the whole set was a few inches higher which can be modified if needed to be, but so far I’m happy with it
@@gregkocis Thanks for the fast response. I have bought one for practicing at home and I really like it. But the snare hase some trouble while playing grooves. Is it normal for an edrum in this price range that I can't hear every hit on the snare while playing groove's or did I bought a broken one. Sorry for the question it's my first edrum.
Realistically with the set and throne I'd say a 6' × 6' area. In fact I've got this set in the corner of a small room, along with several guitars and and a couple of amp in an adjacent corner. And my Son has the opposite side of the room for his 3-D printers and supplies, and it's been working out well for the past month or so.
Great review! I have some questions. Can you customize your dual-zone toms and snare independently so you can have two different sounds besides the sound already established? For example, can I put a wind chams effect on the rim and keep the tom 2 sound at the same time? How good the additional percussion effects are?
Is It Just Me Or Am I Doing Something wrong with previewing the 295 Different sounds . It seems like there isn't 295 sounds only a Dozen or so and they're not Numbered either please help
Thank you for showing all the settings and sounds this kit has. I've been looking up videos for days and no one ever goes through even 4 settings.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this. About to close a deal on a gently used SD600 kit today. Your review was the deciding factor.
How do you like them? I'm thinking about purchasing those.
I love the use of the cajon as a drum throne. Such a great idea.
thanks
Brief but effective. Great job. Much appreciated!

Nice work with the demo. Does the additional cymbal connection support a ride pad with multiple zones?
Best drum sound I ever heard to my taste. I’ll go see the price of it... did you mixed it or it is raw preset ?

Would you rather recommend the alesis nitro mesh or the simmons sd600?
Sd600

the Bluetooth is for the iOS app and from wireless midi control.
How is the rim shot? Is there a rim shot?....it's needed for reggae music
Terrific review
I have sd350. Im thinking about sd600 but put sd600 pads, module, cymbal pads onto sd350 rack cuz i need tiny footprint. Will that work?
I’m not sure if that would work. You might have to contact Simmons
Great review! Random question. Can the kick pad accommodate double bass pedal?
yes
Is there a rim sound on the snare drums? How does it sound? Is it realistic?

Good day, as a first time E Kit buyer, is this comparable to an Alesis Surge? Better?

ture but even without the ios app it's a good deal fro a drum set at this price

The pads themselves have normal 1/4 inputs that work with other drum modules.
Can the SD600 (and expanded) be set up for left-handed drummers (opposite sides for the rack)?
Hi Greg. Can you tell me if these pads work on a Roland TD-11? is the input on the pad a P-10 cable? thanks
I think they do but i no longer have either of those kits
Hey can add a second mesh kick pad and pedal to this set?
I don’t think so, unless you find a sliper for the kick cable . A Double pedal works well though

Double pedal will work you cannot use rezone on the On the ride - The snare pad is only two zones so no.
nice Demo.. thanks . Love from India :)
how strong is the mesh and cymbals?
if mesh get damage , does these mesh is available separately?
you can replace the heads and they are durable
Greg Kocis thanks.. want to ask one more two questions, does it sound naturally like acoustic drum kit and Wat about cymbals and it's durability?
It is durable. I will not play heavy-metal on it though.
Any idea if they good for

I like the Simmons for this price point. Rolands are better overall on the higher end of things.
