    Thanks for this video! I have been looking for an electronic set for my kids. I have a Tama acoustic set, but I need something they can practice quietly on. The titan 50 looks nice especially with the expansion set that gives an extra tom on cymbal, but based on this video I think I'm going to go with the Titan 50 with expansion set.

    I thought sd600 had less machine gun than Titan 50. All reviews I saw from SD600 especially the tons sounds so natural but I never ever had a Simmons drums. I’m seriously thinking about to try Simmons drums. I had Roland, yamaha, Alesis strike and now I have a hybrid kit with Alesis strike module, 2box Drumit 3 module and Roland pads. I love your RUclips channel. Thanks!

      I have them both. The 600 was reworked to cut out on machine gunning buy so too is the Titan 50. I really do like the sounds on the 600 but I think they upped their game on the Titan 50. I’ve gotten early access to a Titan Pack and it sounds really good! I think they’ve made a really nice move with the Titan 50.

      I wouldn't switch to Simmons drums, considering you've already had Roland and Yamaha drums. I think it would be a let down. I have a Simmons SD600 and honestly, it's a HUGE disappointment!! As you mentioned, the tom sounds are excellent, and the mesh heads are a fine feature too. But that's about it for the positive aspects. The triggers are missing too many hits (especially hi-hat, cymbals and bass drum), the module sounds for cymbals and snare all suck, the overall volume is way too low, the cymbals are too sturdy,... I didn't expect a high end kit for 500$, but still...
      Wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I won't consider bying another model from Simmons. Roland or Yamaha will be my next kit for sure!! Just my two cents.

    not sure if you will get back to this comment as its been 3 months since you posted this video but, i sat down at an Alesis Nitro display kit as it was the only e-kit on display. i went to check out the Titan 50. Guitar center folks were a bit busy and i never got a chance to talk with anybody. anyway since i made a short story long (sorry) the Alesis kit seemed very low to me and im only 5'5", was wondering if the titan frame allowed for a little bit higher set up? also wanted to say i enjoy and appreciate your insightful videos. thank you.

      Unfortunately, your GC experience is common. Either nothing is on display except Alesis and Roland or when they Simmons brands are they’re set up improperly or hooked up to blown out amplifiers. However, the Titan 50 isn’t really taller. I had to let my seat down to feel comfortable in front of it. It only took a minute for me to adjust to that height. Also, thanks for watching my videos.

      I haven’t played on the Donner but of course I know of them. It looks like a mixture of Roland and Alesis. At $300 it’s a steal! It’s $613 on their website. I do like the cross stick that it can do. I know the Titan has new tricks for practice and even recording that no one is doing. If the budget is the issue I’d stay with the Donner but if you want the latest and greatest… get the Titan.

      It’s where the drum plays the same sound over and over when playing or hitting multiple times… a natural or acoustic drum will have changes in sound because it’s impossible to strike it exactly the same every time. Many e-drums struggle to capture that natural nuance. Truth is, in my opinion, too many people make too big a deal of it. The average listener won’t even notice.

      @ddsllc4290 Год назад

      @@KeithronPowell I would like to incorporate more left foot action into my practice sessions and find that I am only able to produce a closed hi hat sound by stepping on the pedal while striking the hi hat and an open sound by releasing the pedal while striking the hi hat. Since, physically the Titan 50 only has one hi hat cymbal, compared to an acoustic where there is a top and bottom, the two can come together when stepping on the pedal to produce a sound (without striking the cymbal). Can this sound be produced electronically (via some setting) by the Titan 50 by simply stepping and releasing on the hi hat pedal without striking the hi hat? If this is not possible with the Titan 50 do have any work around suggestions without the need to purchase an acoustic hi hat pedal system? Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  Год назад +3

      That’s my next video…. Let me say this… my studio where I make my music has the 1250 connected and I have no intension of disconnecting it. I think the Titan is amazing but it has limitations that the 1250 doesn’t. At the same time the Titan has abilities the 1250 doesn’t. The thing is the 1250 is more like an acoustic set in feel and ability and that, to me, makes it better overall.
