    I'd like to see if the Simmons dual zone ride works with the titan. If that's the case, it'd be a perfect kit for midi recording, which is all I really want. That's the one thing that drives me up the wall with cheaper e-kits, but if the dual zone ride will work, I'd be willing to give up the fourth tom and have a dual zone ride instead. Or there's the possibility of splitting one of the tom cables in order to keep it.

    Great channel! I enjoy all your content.
    I was considering either an Alesis kit, or the Simmons Titan 50. After watching your comparisons, I bought the Simmons Titan 50.
    I live in Canada, so there are no retailers for this product, and had to be bought through a U.S Guitar Center (or subsidiary).
    I wonder what the after market, and parts support will be for this drum kit over time as compared to Alesis? Mesh head replacements? parts and hardware? If the module breaks after 3 years, will Simmons have replacements available? Etc.
    Keep making all the great content!

    Glad I subscribed to your channel awhile back. When I want to find a good review on anything Simmons, its this channel. Keithron, Quick ? I have a Simmons 1200, is the 1250 worth upgrading too ? And can I use my 1200 expansion pack (Tom/Cymbal) with the 1250 ? PS:The 1250's on sale at GC/MF for like $849 right now 😀

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад +2

      First off thanks for the compliment. I needed to hear that. Now, that’s hard to say. The major difference between the two is 1) the 1250 has the expansion kit as part of the set. This means you can’t use the 1200 expansion. 2) the snare is redesigned on the 1250 giving you a better response. 3) color . 4) I think the cymbals are about the same.
      If you’re just looking for something new get it but If you’re trying to get a major upgrade… hmm… thanks for the sub

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад +1

      Here’s what I know as of right now. 1) the packs are likely compatible with computers. This will be a module or iPad, iPhone based product. I’m sure the packs will be available on their site for non iPhone users. 2) no other company even has it it’s really a uniquely Simmons idea. 3) the packs are prepackaged. I don’t know about creating your own. I’m of the opinion that they’ll likely be preset packs but I could be wrong. If they allow you to create your own packs at the start of this…. All of the other companies can forget it. They may as well close shop.
      I know that Simmons ain’t totally taking my suggestions. 😂😂😂 But I can tell them.

    I should be going to the 1250.. but the wife won’t go with me on that much dinero outlay.. right now… so having been out of drums (I’m 66) for the last six years I’m going to go with the 50.. I was going to go right to the 600 because it just feels a bit more sturdy to me..and I like being able to tighten up the heads(did you say you can tighten the 50 heads up too?) and I really like the mesh kick.. but… I’m real rusty and I need to fulfill a serious Jones to get back quietly in the basement.. and that’s why I’m going 50 expanded because if BT Audio.. it just makes sense.. if I get better in the next couple years I’ll move up to the 1250 which is where I’d really like to be( actually I deserve a quality set of Roland’s but.. yea ain’t happening.. great review. Thank you for helping me make my decision.. ordering the 50 expanded tomorrow..

    Hey Keithron, nice video, but you made an error here. You can't record module sounds into your laptop over Bluetooth midi. Bluetooth MIDI only transmits MIDI data, not audio. Also, you need a BT MIDI capable device, such as an iPad using Garageband sounds for BT MIDI. For example, you can use it on an iPad in Garageband or the Melodics learning app. Also, the app came out yesterday, but it's still basic at the moment, but has some nice editing features.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад +4

      To me there is no choice you go with the 1250. Size of pads, dual zone everything. Triple zone ride cymbal. The feel. The size difference. Height. I sat and played the Titan 50 and I like it but the 1250 is still more natural feeling. Not that the Titan isn’t, it’s just better. Please remember I’m not someone that’s just getting into drums. I own an acoustic set and have for years. When I record my next project the 1250 will be the drum. It is not in my drum room. It resides in the studio connected to my main computer. Now, the color screen does play a factor and so does the app. If the Titan packs were part of the 1250…. 😳OMG!
