I like how Reality Punch is pretty much Superboy-Prime’s signature technique. Like Kamehameha or Rasengan. Also, Rob. It’s the Batman Who Sells. He won’t die here. It was all a part of his plan. Because he. Cannot. Die. No matter how much we want him to.
I was really hoping that they would redeem his character because he was indeed the coolest Superman out of them all and I really hope that they do include him and team him up with Wonder Woman to take down the Batman who laughs that will be like the best way to conclude his Redemption Arc.
What are you talking about? He's pretty redeemed. He was willing to throw it all away to stop the Darkest Knight. Laurie, his parents, his world...he gave up seeing them again to stop the bad guy. If that isn't hero material, I don't know what is.

Character Explanation: Death's Head. Dude's crossed over between Doctor Who, Transformers and the main Marvel universe. I'mma talk about the end of the video now so don't click expand unless you want spoilers. I think that Batman Who Laughs made that world for Superboy Prime because Superboy Prime *could* kill him. He proved it with that big shattery punch and with his personal resolve, so Batman Who Laughs made a facsimile of Superboy Prime's home to keep him out of the rest of the story, as he's strong enough to kill the Batman Who Laughs.
I think that this whole fight was to tease superboy prime. Like The Batman Who Laughs thought it was funny that Superboy Prime thought he could beat him. So he construed a vision in Superboys mind where he beats him, because I don’t think there is anyway that Superboy Prime could beat The Batman Who Laughs l.
i think thats why he was different. every superman he's comprimised holds onto hope, that's his M O. thats superman, the embodiment of hope, who will never let go, or give up. superboy is anchored in our world, our universe. where letting go is a necessity, and a sign of strength, ascension. the other supermen could all be manipulated by their inability to let go. superboy was the cure for this formula the batman who laughs has employed. he now may need to switch up his tactics after going dark for a few. i do believe that world was made for superboy, and i do believe his story is not over. he'll jump in when they start weaving this stuff together with more detail. but this was his badly needed character arc. a bit obnoxious of a character before, but see what a little development can do? wonders. i enjoyed this story, for sure

He's referring to the fact that, despite all appearance, he's still Superboy. He isn't Clark Kent without powers. He's finally getting the chance to be what he was supposed to be. The lone super hero in a world without them. He thought the story of Superboy Prime was over. He thought wrong.
Lets stop with the always a dream or illusion card when it comes to endings like this. This event has only one more issue, half of it will be prologues, action wise nothing more can happen than WW finishing him off.

You left out a big part of why he's so powerful. He's still stronger than most of current DC's characters because while the multiverse was wiped out and remade, and all the characters were "nerfed", him being in his pocket universe kept him from recieving this "nerf" along with the fact that he's not subject to the writer's mercy as he is a real person who knows that everybody around him doesn't really exist, they're merely characters. Meaning he was still more powerful than silver Age supes. I'd say this is more important than the lack of kryptonite in his world.
pre-crisis earth prime people, when in places like earth 1, had reality warping powers. when the old authors inserted, they could make things just by thinking about it.
He's also stronger due to his different kryptonian traits. Where normal superman requires and hr or 2 to get back up to par after nighttime, Superboy Prime needs literal seconds of sunlight to get back to full power.

I honestly this is the End for both Superboy and BWL honestly. It's a perfect ending for Superboy bc he finally Grew up and became the hero wanted to be after that Character Assassination that happened to him in that Second Crisis up until now. It's a perfect ending for The Batman Who Laughs bc he's been so overexposed he makes Charlotte Flair look like a Jobber,he's honestly not that important so dying in a Tie-in is Perfect!!

I see an explanation to how SBP is so powerful. He is from the only place that is real. Everything else is just a shadow of it. It's why it can't kill him nor is he vulnerable to kryptonite from anywhere. Further, I don't think his universe was destroyed. It's just outside the lesser realms and inaccessible. TBWL is just powerful enough to either, 1. duplicate it in a lesser form or 2. actually kick him outside the DC universe back to the real world. If that the case, then TBWL would want a piece of Earth Prime.
@@justifano7046 No, he does not have any weakness to kryptonite. The 2 supermen flew him through a red sun, which is basically his only weakness. SBP has no weakness to kryptonite, is immune to magic, immune to reality warping, and is fast enough to overcome the Speed Force.
I hope all the "minor" characters learn that Superboy Prime fought a big battle (compared to them) and don't think he just ran off, his recognition is due. Superboy Prime is a very compelling character because he is a very classic character, he has an empathetical/relatable story, his unknown power scaling (which matters and above god-killer level), and his amazing resolve. Also, I hope he is not permanently killed off in continuity (even if it was honorable or a well-written death) by The Batman Who Laughs because he is probably the overall best and is my favorite Superman.
@@Bluesit32 and other readers, I know this was a light-hearted and short comment (unlike mines), sorry, I wrote a long response because of course Superboy Prime is one of my favorite characters and (TL;DR) I think it would be wrong not for him to be recognized by the other characters. My main reason is in the last sentence of this comment. Like Rob and others were theorizing, Superboy Prime might actually be in a world created by the Batman Who Laughs (showing how much powerful he has), so the Batman Who Laughs can get him off the battlefield (probably knowing he somehow simply can't kill Superboy Prime). The other characters don't even know where he is and what he did. He might resolve out of this possible pocket universe (or shatter punch it) and be killed in another bang. Even if he isn't killed, he'll come back to the heroes and everyone would think and say he is a traitor or a coward (and he willingly let go of his original goals in his fight), I would hate if no one learns the truth. Us, the readers knowing that Superboy Prime did good wouldn't be enough for me.

I don't think he's dead. As Dr. Manhattan said, pulling himself back together was the first trick he learned. I don't doubt Prime managed to shatter him. The boy breaks reality itself. He did it once. But when he did, reality repaired itself...just slightly wrong (ie replacing Jason Todd's corpse with the Jason Todd that survived the explosion and beating the Joker gave him). No reason the Darkest Knight can't do it too.
Yeah, I think he killed and temporarily destabilized TBWL (As his pulling back together likely would be delayed/weakened due to getting reality-shatter punched). But he likely would eventually restore himself. My best guess is we will see the JL/Earth Characters' perspective of this issue and see the conclusion of "The Worlds are dissapearing" dialouge line in the next main Death Metal issue, with a large number of the worlds returning to "Normal' or being destroyed but before all of them are gone TBWL reconstitutes, pissed off, and weakened even further for his battle against Golden Wonder Woman.

Sadly he does not understand the ending of this issue. The final page says "The Secret Origin". The whole ending is the 2 writers deciding to give Super Prime his new secret origin. The Classic Superman origin from Action Comics issue 1. The conversation with Laurie states that Clark never had his powers activated by the comic that night on the beach. He did not fly up into the sky. This issue is the writers making Superboy Prime back into The Superboy from Earth-Prime once more. A chance to rest him, so if new writers want to write him as a good guy they can.

Prime has always been an interesting character. Its like fanfiction in a way, where you get sent into a comic/anime universe and get to live amongst fictional characters. But the ending of his fight with Batman Who Laughs was phenomenal. Like imagine right now you had the chance to go into the fictional world of DC and have anything you can dream of, but turning it down because you dont want to give up your family and those you loved. Thats what he did in the end and knew denying that future meant his death. Oh also one of the reasons I think he was strong enough to fight of the BWL is because his universe he comes from is 'kind of' outside the comic book universe in a way so he probably has somke 4thwall/medium powers/protection, like the weakest version of Gwenpools ability. For example no matter how powerful these comic book characters are, they could never actually harm me because im real and they are just fictional characters... right?
I thought this was explained as him being from the silver age. Thus when he was sent to the paradise dimension, time kept moving and heroes changed but he essentially remained the same with the hax silverage powers...Thats what i have always thought anyway.
Basically Superboy Prime is based off of aspects of silver/golden age superman. When they did the retcon for majority of characters he was in a paradise dimension so he was unaffected by the retcon. Even being like you described up above, basically a fan made character. Prime is basically an anomaly in D.C. comics. He's strong enough to defeat basically multiple supermen and pretty much every superhero out there with very few exceptions. The reason being is that his kryptonian physique is different from the other multiverse supermen. He only needs mere seconds of yellow sunlight to recharge to 100% where other supermen need more time. Closer to an hr or 2.
He has immunity against artificial red sunlight, reality manipulation and warping, atomic vaporization, magic, retconing and etc., because it doesn't exist in our (his) universe
Did you ever read Doomsday Clock? In Doomsday Clock Doctor Manhattan stated that he could not defeat Superman for some reason and when he thought that Superman had every reason to kill him Superman instead defended him and used to talk ful to convince him to reset the Multiverse back to normal so that life to go on like it's supposed to. he even suggested that in doing so Doctor Manhattan may die because it may take all that he's got an order to save everyone in both doctor Manhattan's world and Superman's world. That pacifist or normal Superman who only fights when he has to. proving that he has a strong reality-anchor the ability to resist and inflict reality altering damage on higher dimensional beings. Superboy Prime is like a version of him that's more aggressive and angry more likely to use his fists then his head but still has a similar heart wanting to help people. so when up against a Dark Twisted version of someone who has the same Powers as Doctor Manhattan he can go toe-to-toe with them just like Superman should have been able to go toe-to-toe with dr. Manhattan if that type of battle wasn't the kind of thing that Superman doesn't particularly care for as in an unnecessary battle
there is a issue where superboy prime did show a weakness to kryptonite. Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds element lad made kryptonite that affected him.

@@DenverEight interesting, and I think the ink would stick and the wounds would stic for a while, but I don't think the muramasa effect is indefinite. If any woulds it makes stay forever, then sure it would work but otherwise it would slow, not stop the healing in the long term.
I love this story, and I've always loved this character. It's so great to see him have a happy ending, even if it is a never ending dream. He was flawed, like us all. He made mistakes. He never asked to be what he was. But he did his best to do what was right. It's great to see this all end like it did.
I'm telling ya, this isn't his doing. If it was, the Darkest Knight would give up, realizing that he can't win. It's impossible for the bad guy to ever win. If he knew that he was just a fad character, he'd break down laughing. His existence is a joke. Because a Batman Who Laughs can NEVER win. They just fail more spectacularly than others.

@@kevgamer12 Perpetua is not the strongest DC God, she is beneath the Source and its wall (which is what was used to kill her by BWL's in the first place), The Presence, and most definitely beneath the Over Monitor which spawned her in the first place. I'll probably go out on a limb and say she is also weaker than CA superman, Mandrakk, Lucifer, Michael also since they're all outerversal and reside outside the entirety of creation in the greater omniverse on the Over void. Also this is Superboy Prime not Superman Prime One Million. SBP is stronger than 1 millon based on his feats prior while 1 million has no feats yet.

I feel like they should do a limited series run of Superboy Prime in his world becoming the first superhero and using his whole story arc of being a hero and a villain to lead the world into a better direction. It gives him his dreams and gives us closure. Maybe even have a scene where he reconciles Conner Kent.

I think Bat Who Laughs did this to contain Superboy at the very least. If everything we saw prior with him fighting BWL was real then he probably wants to keep him where he can keep an eye on him. If Superboy can punch through reality then I’m sure he stands some measure of a threat against BWL.

Superboy Prime, one of the most under rated characters. One of the most unique, since he is a hold over from the original Mutiverse, before it collapsed and was reformed. I'm surprised someone hasn't used him to devise a plan to create the original Multiverse. I'm surprised He hasn't found a mentor to anchor him and show him his potential, which is far greater than the other heroes. Lots of potential with this character.
During the moment where the Superboy Prime hunches the Batman who laughs you can see a shadow or an imprint of the Batman's cowl on the rock behind him
He wasn't even close to being at full power in that comic. He literally only escaped the Monster lands after being under a Red sun for over a decade so it's clear he was weakened. Adam and Billy still struggled

I was really hoping that they would redeem his character because he was indeed the coolest Superman out of them all and I really hope that they do include him and team him up with Wonder Woman to take down the Batman who laughs that will be like the best way to conclude his Redemption Arc.

I think that Batman Who Laughs made that world for Superboy Prime because Superboy Prime *could* kill him. He proved it with that big shattery punch and with his personal resolve, so Batman Who Laughs made a facsimile of Superboy Prime's home to keep him out of the rest of the story, as he's strong enough to kill the Batman Who Laughs.

I think that this whole fight was to tease superboy prime. Like The Batman Who Laughs thought it was funny that Superboy Prime thought he could beat him. So he construed a vision in Superboys mind where he beats him, because I don’t think there is anyway that Superboy Prime could beat The Batman Who Laughs l.
i think thats why he was different. every superman he's comprimised holds onto hope, that's his M O. thats superman, the embodiment of hope, who will never let go, or give up. superboy is anchored in our world, our universe. where letting go is a necessity, and a sign of strength, ascension. the other supermen could all be manipulated by their inability to let go. superboy was the cure for this formula the batman who laughs has employed. he now may need to switch up his tactics after going dark for a few. i do believe that world was made for superboy, and i do believe his story is not over. he'll jump in when they start weaving this stuff together with more detail. but this was his badly needed character arc. a bit obnoxious of a character before, but see what a little development can do? wonders. i enjoyed this story, for sure

You left out a big part of why he's so powerful. He's still stronger than most of current DC's characters because while the multiverse was wiped out and remade, and all the characters were "nerfed", him being in his pocket universe kept him from recieving this "nerf" along with the fact that he's not subject to the writer's mercy as he is a real person who knows that everybody around him doesn't really exist, they're merely characters. Meaning he was still more powerful than silver Age supes. I'd say this is more important than the lack of kryptonite in his world.
pre-crisis earth prime people, when in places like earth 1, had reality warping powers. when the old authors inserted, they could make things just by thinking about it.
He's also stronger due to his different kryptonian traits. Where normal superman requires and hr or 2 to get back up to par after nighttime, Superboy Prime needs literal seconds of sunlight to get back to full power.

It's a perfect ending for Superboy bc he finally Grew up and became the hero wanted to be after that Character Assassination that happened to him in that Second Crisis up until now. It's a perfect ending for The Batman Who Laughs bc he's been so overexposed he makes Charlotte Flair look like a Jobber,he's honestly not that important so dying in a Tie-in is Perfect!!

I see an explanation to how SBP is so powerful. He is from the only place that is real. Everything else is just a shadow of it. It's why it can't kill him nor is he vulnerable to kryptonite from anywhere. Further, I don't think his universe was destroyed. It's just outside the lesser realms and inaccessible. TBWL is just powerful enough to either, 1. duplicate it in a lesser form or 2. actually kick him outside the DC universe back to the real world. If that the case, then TBWL would want a piece of Earth Prime.
He isnt from the real universe though. He is still from inside the dc multiverse, just from a universe that mimics our own.
He does have a kryptonite weakness though.

I hope all the "minor" characters learn that Superboy Prime fought a big battle (compared to them) and don't think he just ran off, his recognition is due. Superboy Prime is a very compelling character because he is a very classic character, he has an empathetical/relatable story, his unknown power scaling (which matters and above god-killer level), and his amazing resolve. Also, I hope he is not permanently killed off in continuity (even if it was honorable or a well-written death) by The Batman Who Laughs because he is probably the overall best and is my favorite Superman.
He doesn't need recognition. He's home. He couldn't ask for anything better.

My main reason is in the last sentence of this comment.
Like Rob and others were theorizing, Superboy Prime might actually be in a world created by the Batman Who Laughs (showing how much powerful he has), so the Batman Who Laughs can get him off the battlefield (probably knowing he somehow simply can't kill Superboy Prime). The other characters don't even know where he is and what he did. He might resolve out of this possible pocket universe (or shatter punch it) and be killed in another bang. Even if he isn't killed, he'll come back to the heroes and everyone would think and say he is a traitor or a coward (and he willingly let go of his original goals in his fight), I would hate if no one learns the truth. Us, the readers knowing that Superboy Prime did good wouldn't be enough for me.

I don't think he's dead. As Dr. Manhattan said, pulling himself back together was the first trick he learned. I don't doubt Prime managed to shatter him. The boy breaks reality itself. He did it once. But when he did, reality repaired itself...just slightly wrong (ie replacing Jason Todd's corpse with the Jason Todd that survived the explosion and beating the Joker gave him). No reason the Darkest Knight can't do it too.
Yeah, I think he killed and temporarily destabilized TBWL (As his pulling back together likely would be delayed/weakened due to getting reality-shatter punched). But he likely would eventually restore himself.
My best guess is we will see the JL/Earth Characters' perspective of this issue and see the conclusion of "The Worlds are dissapearing" dialouge line in the next main Death Metal issue, with a large number of the worlds returning to "Normal' or being destroyed but before all of them are gone TBWL reconstitutes, pissed off, and weakened even further for his battle against Golden Wonder Woman.
I mean superboys punches were strong enough to break a reality (correct me if I'm wrong) so I can see his hits being able to reach the batman who laughs

Sadly he does not understand the ending of this issue. The final page says "The Secret Origin". The whole ending is the 2 writers deciding to give Super Prime his new secret origin. The Classic Superman origin from Action Comics issue 1. The conversation with Laurie states that Clark never had his powers activated by the comic that night on the beach. He did not fly up into the sky. This issue is the writers making Superboy Prime back into The Superboy from Earth-Prime once more. A chance to rest him, so if new writers want to write him as a good guy they can.

Prime has always been an interesting character. Its like fanfiction in a way, where you get sent into a comic/anime universe and get to live amongst fictional characters.
But the ending of his fight with Batman Who Laughs was phenomenal. Like imagine right now you had the chance to go into the fictional world of DC and have anything you can dream of, but turning it down because you dont want to give up your family and those you loved. Thats what he did in the end and knew denying that future meant his death.
Oh also one of the reasons I think he was strong enough to fight of the BWL is because his universe he comes from is 'kind of' outside the comic book universe in a way so he probably has somke 4thwall/medium powers/protection, like the weakest version of Gwenpools ability.

I thought this was explained as him being from the silver age. Thus when he was sent to the paradise dimension, time kept moving and heroes changed but he essentially remained the same with the hax silverage powers...Thats what i have always thought anyway.
Basically Superboy Prime is based off of aspects of silver/golden age superman. When they did the retcon for majority of characters he was in a paradise dimension so he was unaffected by the retcon. Even being like you described up above, basically a fan made character.
Prime is basically an anomaly in D.C. comics. He's strong enough to defeat basically multiple supermen and pretty much every superhero out there with very few exceptions. The reason being is that his kryptonian physique is different from the other multiverse supermen. He only needs mere seconds of yellow sunlight to recharge to 100% where other supermen need more time. Closer to an hr or 2.
He has immunity against artificial red sunlight, reality manipulation and warping, atomic vaporization, magic, retconing and etc., because it doesn't exist in our (his) universe

Did you ever read Doomsday Clock? In Doomsday Clock Doctor Manhattan stated that he could not defeat Superman for some reason and when he thought that Superman had every reason to kill him Superman instead defended him and used to talk ful to convince him to reset the Multiverse back to normal so that life to go on like it's supposed to. he even suggested that in doing so Doctor Manhattan may die because it may take all that he's got an order to save everyone in both doctor Manhattan's world and Superman's world. That pacifist or normal Superman who only fights when he has to. proving that he has a strong reality-anchor the ability to resist and inflict reality altering damage on higher dimensional beings. Superboy Prime is like a version of him that's more aggressive and angry more likely to use his fists then his head but still has a similar heart wanting to help people. so when up against a Dark Twisted version of someone who has the same Powers as Doctor Manhattan he can go toe-to-toe with them just like Superman should have been able to go toe-to-toe with dr. Manhattan if that type of battle wasn't the kind of thing that Superman doesn't particularly care for as in an unnecessary battle

Hey Rob i have a question With Wolverines healing ability is it still possible for him to get a tattoo and keep the tattoo? I should never smoke and watched x men movies
I think the answer is no, the body would reject the damage. the ink might stay for a time but it would be removed eventually.
But what if it was a tattoo using a needle made out of the Muramasa blade?
@@DenverEight interesting, and I think the ink would stick and the wounds would stic for a while, but I don't think the muramasa effect is indefinite. If any woulds it makes stay forever, then sure it would work but otherwise it would slow, not stop the healing in the long term.

I love this story, and I've always loved this character. It's so great to see him have a happy ending, even if it is a never ending dream. He was flawed, like us all. He made mistakes. He never asked to be what he was. But he did his best to do what was right. It's great to see this all end like it did.
Clark picking up the car at the end was also a nice homage to the cover of Action Comics #1.
That means the bat who laugh is aware of his own existences if he can conjure a world where prime read about himself
I'm telling ya, this isn't his doing. If it was, the Darkest Knight would give up, realizing that he can't win. It's impossible for the bad guy to ever win. If he knew that he was just a fad character, he'd break down laughing. His existence is a joke. Because a Batman Who Laughs can NEVER win. They just fail more spectacularly than others.
@@Bluesit32 that just sounded ignorant. TBWL literally was kicking everyones ass up until this point and even so I still think that the batman who laughs is still alive. If you didn't care to notice he stated "we are both equally capable of destroying each other" which means their both about equally powered based on that statement but equal in power doesn't mean that batman who laughs isn't smarter, cause I'm pretty sure he is. The dude has a plan for everything that can't be possibly expected before it even occurs before he gets his omnipotent power. Not only that why would superboy be able to pumble a batman who laughs who doesn't seem to be fighting back? He was more like trying to talk to superboy. I think this is reality being broken by the batman who laughs. I think he has superboy imprisoned. Remember superboy also died from the battle with the batman who laughs. Then he just wakes up as if it were just a dream. That just doesn't add up.

@@eftultima still doesn't add up. Why was superman prime one million able to one shot a character who basically beat the strongest DC god? It doesn't make sense. I think the batman who laughs is still alive and planned the entire thing like he usually does
@@kevgamer12 Perpetua is not the strongest DC God, she is beneath the Source and its wall (which is what was used to kill her by BWL's in the first place), The Presence, and most definitely beneath the Over Monitor which spawned her in the first place. I'll probably go out on a limb and say she is also weaker than CA superman, Mandrakk, Lucifer, Michael also since they're all outerversal and reside outside the entirety of creation in the greater omniverse on the Over void. Also this is Superboy Prime not Superman Prime One Million. SBP is stronger than 1 millon based on his feats prior while 1 million has no feats yet.

Im glad that SBprime got some character development. I hope that he is just trapped at the moment. Then he can get a full Redemption arc later. It needs to be in a real crisis event or at least a Superman title
I feel like they should do a limited series run of Superboy Prime in his world becoming the first superhero and using his whole story arc of being a hero and a villain to lead the world into a better direction. It gives him his dreams and gives us closure. Maybe even have a scene where he reconciles Conner Kent.

@@75_86 lol no he's not superboy prime is literally him without weaknesses plus his origin story is meta asf it leaves it up to you to believe the story or not same goes for the Batman who laughs... these are characters that are so deep is literally up to you to believe if they're real or not in the mesh of intertwined storylines...that gives their storyline a really good feel of mystery and leaves you scratching your head since their storylines are not really meant to be linear

Superman however, his writing just resonates with me in a whole different way that I feel it’s not even fair to compare these characters with him. If you don’t think Superman’s stories can’t do what you just described, then you’re inept. He’s been around for almost a century with many different tones of writing, so pick up a comic book. Superman is the goat. Period.

I think Bat Who Laughs did this to contain Superboy at the very least. If everything we saw prior with him fighting BWL was real then he probably wants to keep him where he can keep an eye on him. If Superboy can punch through reality then I’m sure he stands some measure of a threat against BWL.

Superboy Prime, one of the most under rated characters. One of the most unique, since he is a hold over from the original Mutiverse, before it collapsed and was reformed. I'm surprised someone hasn't used him to devise a plan to create the original Multiverse. I'm surprised He hasn't found a mentor to anchor him and show him his potential, which is far greater than the other heroes. Lots of potential with this character.
During the moment where the Superboy Prime hunches the Batman who laughs you can see a shadow or an imprint of the Batman's cowl on the rock behind him
I mean the Batman who laughs did say “I can’t destroy you just as you can’t destroy me”.

And the last one is the true superboy prime, which is the one who seems to be stays in real world, reading stories in his room
