It's refreshing to see a villain that is actually evil. She don't have any sob stories that forces the audience to feel sorry for her,she's a very dangerous person to deal with. The actress portraying her did an incredible job and to be honest, I hope to see more of her in the future.
She was a real show stealer with her acting. the way she said things, the cocky way she held herself, her delivery of absolutely horrifying death sentences… I almost forgot she was just a mini boss. And then she hijacked everything!!

It also explain that Xavier is also the biggest hypocrite to his teaching. Which then makes some of the insane action he made in the comic book not so crazy, like lusting for Jean Grey and making her forget things by putting a psychic block in her brain.

He also limited Jean Grey's powers because it was driving her mad as a child. No excuse on the other one but it was a single thought bubble line in the third issue of the 60's run, before they even decided he was an older guy. 60's mustache twirling Magneto lasted a lot longer than that.
It's funny because he's actually done significantly fucked up stuff but they come up less than the misinformation.
speaking of the heroes all wearing magneto helmets to block Cassandra's telepathy, I wish they would write a magneto story where he learns to use a magnetic field to jam/disrupt telepathic attacks without the helmet. like the early days of magneto where he already had a natural resistance to telepathy and his helmet was not required.

I could see it being done as a second phase of a boss battle, helmet cracks/breaks and they think they got him but then he says its magneto time and magnetos all over the place but as a permanent thing the helmet is too iconic to scrap
Who is Magneto without his iconic helmet? He’ll be just another mutant with very strong power that doesn’t look menacing.
@@mrdude88 Magneto was never scary due to his appearance, to make a quote he looks like a "...Trojan warrior who's REAAALY into Madonna." What made Magneto scary was his influence, his demeanor, his dialogues, and finally his actions. Appearance was never a part of it.

I was thinking, at least looks-wise, Tilda being cast for this would have been awesome… if only she weren’t already the Ancient One (and I think that worked out perfectly so, no loss there).
Cassandra Nova worked PERFECTLY for the plot of Deadpool and Wolverine. her evil wasn't corny, it was raw. i hope they use her in future Marvel films and maybe even TV shows.

I dunno. She was so terrifying as a villain I feel like she was somewhat undercut by the film having two villains. I think she would’ve been better as an obvious and singular big bad in a film, rather than splitting villain duties between her and Paradox.
@@JLandmasterI think the difference that worked was that Paradox was the corporate kind of evil where he’s doing awful things like literally playing with universe ending tools in order to try and prove that he’s worthy of a bigger office.
Meanwhile, Cassandra is the consequence of his meddling. Her actions outside the void are a response to his meddling in her affairs.

Emma corrin crushed it as Cassandra nova hope we get to see her again
She was fantastic. I went in with low expectations thinking it the villain role was just meant to he overshadowed by the team up of Deadpool and Wolverine but she is among one of the better villains I've seen in a comic book movie.
I hope it's not too soon though. Cassandra works because she doesn't appear as often as other villains like random groups building Sentinels again which seems to always happen. When she appears, you know you're in for a ride of a story. At least how it's used to be with her.

That one was insane. He already killed She-Fenris and then got the purple man to reprogram her brother to be the new Swordsman. Then, to ensure Andreas could use his powers, he got the sword hilt wrapped in Andrea’s skin.
Truly… this was demented. Especially when Andreas got the clone of Andrea commissioned.
I only know her from the movies, but I know I watched her reshape reality to undo mortal wounds with ease. She got zapped good, that's for sure but... if she were to reform herself, or we found out that her mind had escaped her physical destruction and was plotting, I wouldn't be shocked. She's a villain it would be easy to believe had escaped her apparent demise.

Its a short fucking list of X-Men characters who have done more damage than Cassandra Nova did in a single page. And she didn't beat the X-Men in their own home, she styled on them, clowned on them hard, utter domination.
It also shows how dangerous Xavier could be as a villain. I think deep down the X-men are grateful they have Magneto as leader of the Brotherhood and not Charles.
As evil as she is why haven’t most of us heard about her in regards to X-men villains? Her actions are news to me. This is insane for a character to accomplish without some sorta of history rewrite. Hard to believe Marvel allowed it to happen. In DC if this much murder and irreversible damage occurs I know flash is about to rewrite history soon. How did Marvel comics even bounce back from this?

@@zenmaster8826 American comics are interesting in that way. Fans care more about non canon (cartoons/movies) than they care about canon events. Japanese comics have somehow avoided that phenomenon. I’m acknowledging that the normies you mentioned are outnumbered by the fans who prefer seeing these characters in other mediums.
@@ritzkola2302Well, most of the deceased were in the country of Genosha and, to be honest, the Shi’ar empire is always in a start of uprising.
The Genoshan genocide was a motivator for characters on both sides. Indeed, when Iron man asked Emma Frost to have the Xmen join in for civil war, she brought up how, despite the Xmen always helping out, no one did the same with Genosha.
Polaris, being one of the few survivors, was pretty messed up after it with PTSD aggravating her bipolar disorder.
Indeed, the impact of the deaths have lasted until literally a month ago where, in the White hot room, the new Krakoan society managed to resurrect all 16 million in the span of a decade. Most either stayed in the white hot room or went back to Earth.

Sometimes this artwork is impressive, other times it's absolute garbage. Cyclops head is hilarious. Wolverine looks like his name should be Stavros.
That’s Why I could never get into New X-Men
after the implosion of the "Brat Pack" in the early 90's, it felt like Marvel and DC were just hiring anybody. I read "No Man's Land" not too long ago and I really hated the artwork in general. Fuck, Batman Adventures, a kid's comic, had better art than some mainline stuff.

That's what I get for pretty much ending my involvement with Marvel comics in the late 90s. A whole lot of stuff has happened that I either know nothing about (I thought Cassandra was a VotW created for the movie) or I know scant little about.
This is also what I get for frequenting Rob's channel. I get a nice Reader's Digest version of enough to get me up to speed with various characters and franchises.
When she moved Wolverines Claws the VERY first time....I thought she was Polaris, Magnetos Daughter.
I mean Wolverine got all the Xmen and possibly all Mutants killed. Magneto could have been one of them.
She was also in the Wastlands when Xavier found her in another Series.

Man, it's easy to forget just how much of the wackier modern X-Men stories came directly from Grant Morrison. They really had a much bigger impact on X-Men continuity than people remember, I think.
And the wackiest DC stories as well. His comic writing is closer to stream of consciousness writing than anyone in the industry today. Sorry Alan Moore. But his writing is sooo good.

We haven't had a great Villain in so long, I was happily shocked when she came on screen and her presence really commanded your attention and I loved her every time she was on screen. Great actress, I got to look out for her now.

This is a great vid, and I'm glad to see it since she's one of my favorite characters! I really love how '97 adapted the Genoshan genocide, but it's really cool to just see how deep her history goes--I noticed you didn't acknowledge Cassandra's role in Here Comes Tomorrow during New X-Men, and I think it's also pretty cool that her inclusion with the Marauders in Here Comes Yesterday mirrors it, since the whole arc once again deals with Sublime!

A VARIANT OF (CASSANDRA NOVA) I IMAGINE COULD EXIST SOMEWHERE IN THE MULTIVERSE WHO ISN’T EVIL:
I imagine in one realm, there is a variant of Cassandra, who is not an evil person, but just a wicked person, who’s emotionally unstable.
I imagine in this realm, she goes through a set of stages in her life, before she finally comes to a realization.
That realization is, that Charles Xavier isn’t her true enemy, but instead she is her own worst enemy.
Due to her own jadedness, close mindedness, ego, pride, and due to the secret envy she felt about her brother sometimes.
That is what was responsible, for her being a very wicked person, for many years, before she had experience a sudden realization.
Once Cassandra Nova, had her sudden realization, she then went on a journey, and during that journey she discovered a hidden undiscovered island.
It took her a while, for her to figure out, a safe way to make it to the island, and I imagine once there, she had decided to make it her home.
A place that is far away, from things that would upset her, and to be far away from people who would upset her.
I imagine within four years, Cassandra Nova, had developed tranquility, discovered she has unknown talents, for doing non violent skills.
After she had developed tranquility, she was able to grow hair from her head, and develop new type of mental abilities, that is able to heal any place that is dying due to dangerous substances.
Plus to add save any type of wildlife from dying, that was exposed to dangerous substances.
But then on one day, she suddenly felt something awful, that some unknown evil entity, is on its way, and had a vision it would change her brother (Charles Xavier).
From being a good person mutant, who’s a hopeful, kind, considerate, forgiving guy, and who dreams of a better future.
To becoming cruel, vicious, a bit crazy, cold minded, and more violent than what she ever was in her past.
After she had her vision, she thought about it for a few hours, then she made the decision to leave, and try to visit her brother, while hoping she doesn’t scare anyone in the process.
She feared if she didn’t try to, stop the events from happening, she might need to work with enemies of her brother, in order to kill him, once he does become evil.
So… Ernst
She was an interesting villain in the movie her evil was pure i loved how ruthless she was

Man you didn't touch on 'Here Comes Tomorrow' that was the beat version of her and spun right out of New X-men where she was trapped in thr Shi'ar shape-shifting body.

@mikescorpio13 so you didn't see it but you critique it. The movie was as good as the one prior. If you don't like Deadpool movies, don't see it. It is a typical Deadpool movie. A cameo is a one time small part appearance,ie; Stan Lee. I wouldn't say there were as many cameos as you think.

I believe Carl Jung coined the term, Shadow Selft, to represent this idea. But its less about morality like good and evil and more about just the aspects of ourselves that we keep hidden from everyone, including ourselves at times.
