Such a shame that they made Storm so weak in the movies. I think they forgot the fact that she’s an omega level mutant and literally a godlike by possessing the ability to control the fucking weather.
They didn't forget, they just realized that OP characters wouldn't make a very long or interesting movie. There would be no stakes. Hell, Storm isn't even always this powerful in comics, it depends on the writer and what purpose she needs to serve in the story. All characters are like this.

Storm in movies: summons and shoots lightning and summon a tornado storm.
Storm in comics: can manipulate weather on other planets and can control solar WINDS.
Darwin in movies: survives fire and gets killed by Shaw.
Darwin in comics: can take on blows from the HULK IN SPACE and by every blow the hulk throws at him he only gets stronger and more resilient.
These are the MOST nerfed mutants in the X-men universe both shown in film and in comics.

Ok, but the reason for all of these mutants getting watered down is because overpowered characters tend to not make for as interesting of a story. Otherwise you end up having one hell of a power creep that needs to be addressed everytime a new movie comes out
CrownofMischief I’m not just saying that they always have to be overpowered, I’m also saying that we never get to see more of their abilities in the movies. Especially what got me was Darwin, the mutant that can survive everything and they immediately kill them as though he wasn’t going to be an interesting mutant that he is able to use more of his abilities AND one of the cooler mutants in the x-men universe.
Tbh op characters is kind of not interesting or boring to watch atleast for the majority of viewers who only watch movies but dont read comics

When you realize David Charles Haller (The Legion) actually has the power to create whatever mutation he thinks of inside himself. He has like a shit ton of omega level mutations inside him. Downside is that he is insane and cos of his dissociative personality disorder, his mind creates new personalities to govern each mutation so he can't use all of them without calling on that personality. But his personality 005 which is actually the one called "The Legion" is referred to as a God-Omega level mutant and this personality can control all of the thousands of his omega level powers at the same time. When this personality is in control he probably is the strongest character in marvel excluding one above all or atleast in the top 5 strongest.

Scarlet witch, can take away her powers but she is not an Omega level mutant. That suck. Black Bolt can destroy, storm, ice man, and magneto, with just saying boo, but he is not listed as Omega level mutant.
I suggest you look up what omega means. Stripping the atmosphere or burning a hole through the ozone layer would kill all humans and mutants. Storm can manipulate multiple forms of energy.
Thea, I suggest you really look up what omega level mutant mean. Storm, can do all of that, but Black Bolt, only has to whisper, he yell or scream, and he destroys the planet, faster than storm can make it rain. Black Bolt, is Omega level, and so should the Scarlet, witch. Storm, is powerful, but they do not let her really cut loose. We have seen Black Bolt cut loose, fighting his brother. All I am saying is Storm can control the weather she has one power, Mr fantastic, n sue Richards son is rated Omega level, but has multiple powers.

@@deepayanbindhani7073 at full power his ability to charge the kinetic energy in objects evolves to the point where he can not only do it without touching the object and he can now do the same thing to living organisms. His alternate self actual destroyed his plant accidentally when he first awakened his full power. He also has absolute kinetic control, he can stop objects in motion and cause objects to move.

What ive always loved about Mutants is the scientific evolution of their powers. Like Bobby who in most stories would just be a ice man but can manipulate tempratures. Or instead of Controlling Fire the power is controlling the vibration of atoms which creates fire and then they can evolve it further.

That's true, Storm could only dampen the effects of climate change not stop it; however, get one of those reality warpers to take some CH4 (methane) out of the atmosphere would be able to delay it... Or send us into a cold dip.

I remember getting into X-Men comics in elementary school. I read 2 issues from the Dark Phoenix Saga in 1st grade and was instantly hooked. I read all kinds of series: Uncanny X-Men, X-Men. Vol. 2 with Jim Lee’s art, etc. I remember reading X-Men First Class and liking Bobby Drake a lot but never really giving his powers much merit and now he’s one of the most overpower mutants in Marvel. I felt ashamed for overlooking him so much.
They missed Professor X, there’s no way in hell he’s not an omega level Telepath, Jean most of the time has a hard time catching up to Charles and the dude can pretty much mind wipe entire towns of people.
I thought this too! He can basically connect to any human or mutant as well cerebros! I'm sure he could probably kill tons of people across the world with his mind. 😅👍🏻

Legion's mutant abilities can easily be summed up as "Yes".
Franklin Richards is not a mutant he used his reality warping powers to make itself appear to be a mutant.
The Ultimate Storm was part of a storyline which connected her ability to the Butterfly effect- she's the only mutant with the ability to manipulate huge complicated systems into precise outcomes, and linked her with Domino, Longshot, and other Probability Manipulators. There's a scene where she creates a cumulus cloud in the palm of her hand, with pin prick lightening. She's Omega because there's potentially no upper limit to the size of the complex system (Stellar Weather- Star to Nova or Singularity) or lower limit (the "weather" of brain activity)- her terrestrial weather focus being the result of the claustophobia and her technically religious fundamentalist (You Are A Weather Goddess) upbringing.
Please where is the butter fly effect issue I am looking for it.
How does her claustrophobia tie in with her powers?

The pinprick lightning/thunderstorm in your pawn required her to focus or "cloister" her power, which she had an aversion too due to her Don't Fence Me In Nature.

@@wyattlilly9495 I respectfully disagree. Apocalypse was fundamentally altered by the celestials and imbued with cosmic powers he did not have before. His natural mutant power is not omega level. In fact, it is similar to Ms. Marvel's powers, though with more depth of application.
A good analogy would be when Psylocke was imbued with the power of the Crimson Dawn. She gained shadow powers. They were not her mutant powers, but an external, extra-dimensional addition to hers with no mutant origin whatsoever.

He sought out "Ship" which was a celestial construct and then enslaved that tech, began communicating with it... ifso facto, one of the celestials. He hacked a celestial ship bro...
He was so powerful in fact that many mutants time traveled and either attempted to or did kill before world domination (FantomX) when he was a child. I also don't know why they left Dr. Doom off of this omega list...

I think there's a misunderstanding of what an omega-level mutant is here, in some of the explanations. It's not about the actual power, it's about that individual having the potential to use that power to a much higher level than any other mutant. Eg Hope Summers' powers don't make her an omega mutant because she can copy an omega mutant's power, Rogue could do the same, but because her power-borrowing is superior to any other mutant who has the same power.

Both Storm & Magneto can influence stars as well, not just that of the Earth itself with their powers. Storm can create & influence solar storms in the Sun, while Magneto can use & reshape the magnetic fields within the Sun for whatever he wants to use it for.

Technically, Gambit should be on this list. His powers aren't just about making cards explode. His powers have to do with manipulating kinetic energy, which the universe is full of. If he wanted to, he could detonate an entire planet and wipe it out of existence kind of like how Alderaan was wiped out by a Death Star in Star Wars.
I use to talk with my friends on which team would win in a fight, X-Men or Avengers. I use to say X-Men because of Charles and Jean. After seeing this, it's still Charles, but mostly now because of Jean, Storm, Ice-Man and (I read in the comments) Gambit! Avengers don't stand a chance!

I wish Jean omega level power wasn't telepathy but psychic energy manipulation, the power her younger version unlocked by combining her telekinesis and telepathy together. Jean was always set up to be the strongest psychic so that is why I would have given her that power as omega level as it would put her above other psychics.

Another thing to mention about Iceman is that he's also functionally immortal due to the fact his body is made of liquid ice and can reshape it however he wants imckusing turning into water vapor etc. He can also regenerate himself almost infinitely by just using the moisture in the air. Hes not even the most powerful cold/ice related Hero in Marvel though.

7:40 It seems everyone can do this. Foley can do this too, if you can manipulate quantum particles you can manipulate electrons. If you can manipulate electrons you can manipulate all matter and energy. Need to heat something up? Just add energy to the electrons and cause them to start moving around super fast. Need to make sound? Move the electrons in a wavelike pattern to carry the atoms in the air to make sound waves. If you can manipulate the forces of nature like the previous guy just go the same thing with electrons.

Darwin would fit into this category because the extent of what he can do is undefinable. The fact that he can't use them manually and rather automatically reacts to his environment doesn't exempt him from the guidelines.
Darwin's powers can do simple things like giving him gills or making him weightless and incredibly powerfull things like spontaneously becoming a god of death. And there is nothing to suggest that that is as far as his powers can go.

Watching this something came in my mind, call it a theory or whatever.
Every mutant power is deeper than we think or deeper than they have revealed. For example in the early stages of magneto as a character it was shown that he could control metal like a magnet, but later on it was discovered that he actually controls the magnetic field of all sorts of stuff, there is a story when he changes the magnetic field of Earth itslef.
Or let's say iceman, we thought he can create ice and that's just it, well... apparently not, he can manipulate the thermal power of all sorts of stuff.
Now imagine, probably all the mutants have some amazing powers that haven't been revealed yet, or powers that maybe need to be seen as something bigger as something more general and not so specific.
The power itself is general but the way they know how to use it is specific.
If you know what onepiece is than you'll understand this analogy

Secondly, maybe there are mutants to whom doesn't apply the things that I said or maybe and that's what I believe it to be, maybe we don't have enough imagination to know what the limits of his powers would be and maybe no writer in comics has something in mind YET.

So now with a little more Control over the Area of Effect of Rogues new power makes her a possible great Replacement for Hope in the Event of her death....kind of like a Backup, Backup >

Logan, Professor Xavier and a handful of others are what I would call Alpha+++, or just short of Omega level, and Alex and Scott Sommers are both capable of each absorbing the power of the other for a rebound shot at increased level, so they will bounce their energy off each other until they achieve the level of power they require. Then they will release it at the target. Does anyone think they are not capable of the same energy manipulation of their third brother as well, their Omega level brother?
