Owlman is the prime example of a lost Batman image. Guy was so methodical, cunning, excessively(probably even better than Bats) skilled, nihilist and more. He truly never cared for anyone. Used Superwoman as he wanted, beat Bruce multiple times and literally almost blew the entire freaking existence into nothing.
The Batman Who Laughs truly is a nightmare and shows why villains are terrified of Batman, even without super powers and essentially just all his restraint gone he literally killed everyone in his universe.
Laughs only got as far as he did because he lives in a multiverse where "whatever is the worst case scenario is what happens". He's not a realistic interpretation of what Batman going rogue would be, he's Bruce's literal nightmare made flesh. I'd argue Lex Luthor is a good version of what evil Batman in the main universe would be like; a charismatic and resourceful genius who uses that to fight heroes with god-like powers. Did he ever take over the world? No? Yeah, that should tell you how far Laughs would get if he belonged to the Light Multiverse

If the multiverse is truly infinite, then infinite versions of him have gotten to the beginning of it all, and all it wouls take is one to accomplish his plan. If it's not infinite, he was wrong from the beginning, and it would not have accomplished anything anyway. "It doesn't matter" indeed.

The Batman who laughs is an interesting arc. I think it was genius to show Bruce struggle with it during the third Arkham game and show in his head what the fight looked like at the end or what chaos the joker batman would cause.

Honestly, the "future versuons jf characters are dictators" trope is actually sad. With how many times they're used and the pure amount of characters that fall into it consistently... It means that no matter what they do, eventually, they WILL become that. They WILL become the bad guys, because eventually, superheroes see where they are wrong (leaving villains alive) and do it, then fall into a rabbit hole which thwy can't get out of until an alternate version of themselves stop them.

The Grim Knight in my opinion is the best evil Batman. He’s the same Bruce Wayne, backstory and all, but the twist is he kills his parents’ killer, gets revenge, but then trains to become a killer himself.
