How Donda Saved Kanye West

- I titled this video how Donda saved Kanye west, because Donda is more than just an album title, it's a representation of Kanye as a whole, coping with his past, present and future.
Throughout the video I dive into the true meaning of Kanye's tenth studio album, Donda. From the three listening parties to the 27 tracks, we find ourselves taking a journey of spiritual enlightenment in this album.
I strongly believe that Kanye has really found his present day voice with DONDA, being able to create secular music, but not in an over instated way. It’s truly an album that all audiences can listen to and appreciate.

You got me with that title. I was thinking Kanye didn't need the ALBUM to save him in any way. It's clear how much of an impact his mother Donda had on shaping him and how she encouraged his creativity and boldness to speak on what he believes is right even if it's not popular.
Does anyone know or have a theory for why he went with “no” album cover?
Moms are everything brother appreciate everything your mother has done for you cus you never know when’s the last time you see her so always make sure you say I love you mom hung and kiss
@@jacesears3874 i think the simplest answer could be that black is the color of grieving, as is it is heavily used in the listening parties with the aesthetic they were already going for.
@@jacesears3874 i saw something that said it represents the emptiness ye felt after losing his mom but not sure how accurate that is
@@jacesears3874 grieving.. or nothing was good enough.
I wish more people would take the time to actually understand why Kanye does what he does rather than just judging or giving a surface level opinion
Most people lack consciousness of their own self, how can you expect them understand someone else?
THIS
@@MASTER.SON. good point. Just like Donda said about kanye, I feel like I came out of the womb aware of my own self and everybody else's too, so it feels so hard to imagine that other people aren't. Of course in society's language, they call it "ADHD" or "autism", or even "bipolar" in Kanye's case. That's all very well and good but at the end of the day people are just people and it feels like those of us who are awake/aware on a certain level are up against so much misunderstanding
Are they surface level opinions, or are they rational arguments
He’s basically living the Truman show. Most celebrities do, but they are bots lol jk
This is why parenting is so impactful on a persons entire existence, if done right.
And harmful, if done wrong.
This is truly a phenomenal analysis of DONDA and Kanye’s current state in the world of music. Even being a diehard Ye fan, I couldn’t think of the places you take this video. You single handily changed my view on tell the vision. Fucking brilliant. Overall have goosebumps all over and super pumped to see what you release in the future.
Definitely felt goosebumps
I totally agree tell the vision is exactly that…. It was perfect and 24 is my favorite on the album right now and I didn’t even like gospel b4 now I can appreciate it a lot more
"Even through the lowest lows, you can climb back to the top... you can always be saved."
Trueeee
This is the closed analysis I've so far of depicting the actual meaning of the album and understanding the thought process of Kanye. It was very well done at that. You did a fantastic job.
I’m from Louisville and the city was saddened by Jonah’s passing away. For ye to include a song dedicated to him on his album was so special and meaningful
It occurred to me while watching this that making the album artwork a black square has pretty much the same effect as Maison Margiela making his models wear masks. It focuses you on the music/clothes, sure, but it has an aesthetic of its own. There’s something dark and slightly creepy about it to me. A lack of artwork is still a kind of artwork that makes you feel something, ultimately.
There is no difference between something and nothing as in the end nothing is something.
Short Story:
She didn't abort him even when the father didn't want the child.
She raised him as a single mother.
That's how this single mother saved her child.
This is genius, i can relate this , when he says “I am Free” I just let go of the worries and put my trust in HIM. No child of God will be left behind.Facts.
omg yessssss
Facts (Charlie Heat Version)
I think the album Donda is unique, beautiful, intentionally messy with chopped music that reflects the feelings he feel about his mom, connecting with God and his own family. It’s creative, artistic and epic. I’ll always be grateful that I saw him present his art in Chicago. It reminds me why I am his biggest fan and why he’s my inspiration of all time. Because of his 808 & heartbreak album I decided to pursue my life’s purpose. (i.e. to be an engineer and got my degree). So yeah.. thanks Kanye West and God Bless.
As a lifelong Kanye fan, I found myself confused and hurt by the statements he was making and ideas he was representing in the last few years. Donda did exactly what you say it did; it proved to me that a person can always repent. I listened to the album with tears in my eyes the whole time, and I forgave him. I think the album did a fantastic job of communicating all of his thoughts and feelings to his fans who wanted and needed an explanation for why their idol was doing the things he was doing.
Funnily enough it reminded me of the episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia where Mac comes out to his dad through a dance routine. While the routine didn’t reach his dad, it reached Frank. Throughout the episode Frank had been saying that he didn’t get Mac, but after the performance you could see him with tears in his eyes saying “I get it”. I, and other fans, were Frank in that moment.
Kanye, I Get it.
I felt the opposite as a lifelong Kanye fan. The things he has been doing the past two years is the same kanye you knew 10-15 years ago. Maybe its you who has changed?
@@KnockOut101inc yeah his whole comment is very self centered. Kanye needs to repent for speaking dangerously and having conservative views? Who is he repenting to? You? Glad this album helped you forgive him but may I suggest a shift in your perspective especially when it comes to celebrity. Love.
Youre the only person i've heard make sense of the Pop Smoke record
One of the best video essays on an album I've ever watched. Perfectly broken down and edited, keep up the amazing work brother.
this is such a iconic video, phenomenal writing!
Its my favorite album from Kanye and I have loved all of his work so far. This album has the transparency and honesty of Ye but the production quality and attention to detail as MBDTF. Its raw but polished and beautiful at the same time, with a lot of thought-provoking themes
amen.
donda feels like a posthumous album to me in relation to dondas death
Man this is the greatest break down to a album ever 💯💯💯
I wonder if Kanye sees these types of videos and agrees with their theories. I even wonder if his ideas truly get understood by the people he presents it to...
I hope the algorithm will bless this video man. Thank you for the analysis, I was feeling low and this video inspired me to get back up.
HOW HAVE U NOT BLOWN UP , THESE VIDEOS ARE GOLD
The theory, production and voice on this are top quality, holy Lord. Can't wait to go through the rest of your videos.
Incredible video and beautiful breakdown of the album!

Man your visual skills with telling stories are amazing! Keep up man! You got this 🔥👍
Too many people don’t realise that Donda (album) will forever be a staple in the forever changing genre of hip hop
I really enjoyed the breakdown of the rollout and the track list. Thank you!
This is probably one of the best Video-essays ive seen ever
Such an amazing video, had to watch it twice
Awesome thoughts! You put into words perfectly what I've been feeling about Donda but haven't been able to define so clearly.
I don’t know why man but this video just made me break down into tears. Thank you for this, great work here.
this is great stuff man! amazing album, amazing analysis! 🔥
I was @ the Soldier Field listening party. We got there at 6pm. Didn't leave til 2am. It was all worth it though.
I watched the entire video and not once did he ask me to subscribe. Great video I appreciate this album even more now. Keep up the great work!
You did a fantastic job on the dissecting the album I must say. I believe some people were quick to cast judgment on his project without truly trying to understand the meaning behind each track and you did just that. Been a Ye fan for the longest and now I’m a fan of yours!!
You went Above and Beyond with this video man, THANK YOU.
Absolutely insightful and well-edited video, top-shelve man!
Beautiful video man🙏🏿

Well, this aged horribly. Still a great video tho
Great video man. Great breakdown
Background music had me on a 20 minute detour listening to only one and crying several times in the process
I got that the listening party and unfinished And raw nature was intentional and represented ego death but wow your analysis is spot on! Literally amazing work and so well edited. Subscription earned lol
Fantastic analysis! 👏🏾👏🏾
I like this video and am glad it was in my recommended. You have a good way with words, I did notice some errors in talking about Kanye songs such as “Hey ma” --> ‘Hey Mama’. But other than that good stuff!
I say the room represents him feeling the loneliness but at the same time embracing it
nice content , thank you
I love this #Donda album and I sincerely enjoyed and learned something from your well thought out analogy.👍👍💥💥❤❤
In the song jail represents how his mental and his thoughts break out cuz he feel like he's locked up he's contained he can't express itself the way he want to
bro ur vid just clicked, amazing
Thanks algorithm for showing me this great video and channel
Amazing analysis! Makes a great album even better.
Nice work man
You did a great job!!!
Good breakdown bro! Very good
Great work bro
This is an amazing analysis! So glad I have it in my recommendation
Beautiful analysis of the album, man. If you're reading this and you can, go hug your Mom.
Beautiful analysis video, this is Kanye’s greatest work ever
This was awesome!!!
you never miss🤝
This is Top Tier Content 🖤
Great video
Amazing visuals as well
Great video!
I completely agree with your final statement. As I'm growing older myself, navigating through adult life, I feel this album will always have something for me to fall back on. The personas of Yeezus and MBDTF are amazing, great art. But not that relatable. TLOP is Kanyes first rollercoaster ride into becoming a father and husband, and Donda encapsulates everything about Kanyes life, also musically. I hear every single Kanye album in these songs. Might become my favourite album by him
Broke down the Album Perfectly
God tier editing
this vid is insane!
This IS GREAT!!!
Your editing 😤
album is gonna slap diff now
Kanye is one of the greatest artists. I don't know why kanye is being compared to Drake. Kanye is on another level 🔥🐐
This video is amazing.
Classic it’s becoming my favorite ye album becuase I can relate to it at this age just like I related to college dropout when I was in high school
And 808 when I broke up with my girlfriend at the time
DONDA equals MASTERPIECE
Great visuals.
Been a diehard kanye fan since college dropout and the more Iisten to Donda, the more it moves close to my favorite Ye album. It’s so emotional and not concerned with being anything to anyone, it’s the most Kanye Kanye album in every way.
Dang this is amazing
fuck, I’m crying I love Kanye
I always knew there was some form of narrative on this album but now it is very apparent, the tell the vision part I believe is just an interlude for the last few tracks to stand out more.
All I gotta say thank you
Thank you
So good
Good Video Amen
you are so underrated
I really feel like this album goes to show music is a form of therapy. For Kanye to be able to fight his demons, find himself and then his way, but also for all of his listeners to be able to relate to some of the things he's going through. Losing loved ones, losing faith, having to fight one's ego. The way Kanye shows his listeners a part of himself this pure... it's special - the album is special
well said!
