After the Oscars, it wasn’t surprising that people naturally compared it to the incident of 2009.
The VMA's in 2009 is an event that none of us will ever forget. Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift is an event that we still hear about over a decade later. This narrative quite literally was set out to ruin Kanye. It was his first real, deep, hatred that he’d be buried in, throughout his entire career.
In reality, Kanye had two choices, to give up or carry on with his career. As this was the rise of social media, Kanye began getting deat h threats and an influx of torment that wasn’t possible before twitter. He became the most hated man in America from one single moment.

I think it's way more likely that Kanye was contemplating su1c1de rather than retirement in 2010. Note the ending of MBTF's Power, where he literally talks about "jumping out the window, letting everything go". Never See Me Again is read by many as a suicide note. I'm endlessly grateful that Kanye overcame his depression and suicidal ideation.
I'd place MBDTF 3rd or 4th in Ye's discography.
I don't think Kanye contemplated retirement due to his obsession for music and creating it, you can just see his passion from his previous work ethic with prior albums, producing for other artists, & when he was younger. MBDTF is #4 out of his discography.
Great video & editing as always, love to see the work you put into these videos!
I don' think he contemplated retirement but he sang in Ghost town that he will take a break on Sunday just like God did. I think he's not planning it soon but he will finally retire and take full care of his family. In my opinion MBDTF is #3 because how good it is and how it was made with Mike Dean's guitar outros. It's definitely one of the best albums of all time.
This is so well done. I wish coodie was able to record this moment but him and Ye was not talking at this time
Kanye becoming the most hated person on earth to releasing one of the greatest album of all time is easily one of the best things I ever seen.
You chose the perfect time to release this. The Will Smith event has now passed and people are making the comparisons. (Side note, clearly assaulting someone is more socially acceptable than interrupting their speech). I truly think this period was ye’s hardest, after a domino effect of tragic life events. I’m glad we still have him around
crazy to think somewhere in another reality kanye no longer exists and mbdtf would never come to be
The editing of this video was amazing. And for the questions yes, he might've considered retirement and it's number 3 in his discography, behind Graduation, and College dropout.
My dark twisted fantasy is what finally made me want to break free and be creative with myself and never give up
I remember learning about this story recently. Amazing breakdown of a tragic real life what-if story. I honestly don’t think he would retire because people musicians, designers, artists with that level of endless creativity are never not inspired by something. Even so, Kanye has inspired countless ppl with his music and I’m glad he’s here with us. Really hoping this most recent drama gets resolved and we can expect more great music
I’m loving this channel. I hope it gets more recognition soon
amazing video dude
I just your channel and have watched alot of the vids. Keep up the great work. I think he would have moved away form being a public figure and try to move to a artist who no one knows the identity off. And ranking kanyes discography always changes for me but it is constantly always top 5 for me
I dont think ye contemplated retirement but rather suicide. Many people, including myself consider "Never see me again" a suicide and are happy it never came out. Everybody hated him, and i feel sorry for him. Losing someone like a parent is very hard to get over, trust me, and he was drunk when he came on stage so im not saying what he did wasnt wrong but i am saying that people treated him too harshly.
I would rank Twisted Fantasy at no 2 after Graduation, Graduation is one of my favorite albums of all time. Every song on that album is perfect and something in my mind just clicks when im listening to that album. MBDTF is also great and i hate the thought that it coulve been Kanye's lat album or couldve not even come out.
Great video man the editing is amazing and I’m glad your seeing from Kanye’s side
Incredible editing!
Nice video 🔥
This video is so good!! I should just unlist my own Kanye West video, cause yours covers it so much better lol, 10/10 bro
Amazing work as always man! Keep it up! I also just uploaded a video where I explain why I love Kanye so much
I forgot to say that it’s on my second channel, Alex’s other show
I've been watching you for some time and it saddens me to see how few views this has. You uploaded a very professionally made and entertaining piece here, and given time, you will get proper recognition. I value what you do
Hey! Thank you for for those kind words. Comments like these keep the channel going. As long as I know that I have some core people enjoying the videos, I’m happy to make them.
I know that as long as I keep making these, the recognition eventually has to come!
I do think he contemplated retirement. No way he put that much hours and labor into making mbdtf just for it to flop and him not retire. He took a calculated risk and came out on top
I don’t get why people got so offended by Kanye doing that, he was clearly throwing shit at the awards show not Taylor Swift
Literally was listening to Never See Me Again today
I KNOW YOU SEE ME NOW RIGHT NOW
I still go back to never see me again sometimes
Can u make a video explaining pink floyd dark side of the moon
Kayne said on gone on Late Registration that he thought about leaving it all behind
I do believe that he was contemplating retirement, or suicide, but after releasing never see me again, he would probably make a comeback a couple years later. Also, I would rank mbdtf at number 3 in his discography, with tcd at number 2 and late reg at number 1.
Never See Me Again is just a weird mumble demo, I have no idea how the song started the kanye suicide theory. The only thing that supports it is the sample and I'd say it barely counts,
the lyrics don't really help the theory either, it's just 9 minutes of autotuned mumble.
#2 for me
No mbdtf 2 bc Pablo
Praying for Will Smith’s mental health 🙏
We lost him in 2022
