      LOL funny. We do offer many ways to build your aquarium. This is the high-end way. But we've built a local aquascaping community for example where people can swap, trade things and buy second-hand stuff which is still great. There are so many ways to enjoy this hobby. Not every time an option to buy brand new things from off the shelf. Especially not the branded ones. Maybe you have the skill to DIY most of the stuff and there 300 bucks is pretty good 😃 👍 Thanks for watching. The advice was 295$ so you have 5$ left to spend on anything 😁 Just kidding 😋

      It’s possible to do. When you get into super high end aquariums and such price goes up fast. It’s kind of you get what you pay for though. The glass in these aquariums alone is stunning. Cameras do not do the justice haha. Here in the US waterbox is as close as you will get to ADA or Green Aqua tank quality. Beauty is with them they have a payment plan!

    This is a good content. I spent around £400 setting up my tank and wasted around £250 for trying things out. Water treatments, anti algae, filter, decors, plants, etc. and mostly purchased things in ebay as they are quite cheap, well some things worked but most don't.
    Bottomline, invest in a very good filter an do your research first before planting and getting livestocks. Also, see to it if your tap water is good enough do or you need to get a RO water because the water here in uk causes crazy bloom of diatoms.

      @@GreenAquaShop i know what you mean , perhaps i put it the wrong way , of course we all do this first for the love of the hobby ! But when i mean "customers" i mean like in your case and also in my case some years back , people who are not in the hobby and want something beautiful like an Aquarium . they should also understand and be educated what it means to invest and take care of the living ecosystem in their home\office. Cheers and keep educating because people must know why a skimmer or RO water system is important or a good filter or a good light , in this way they will also understand the costs.

    Really like this video. I think a lot of people don’t realize the cost going in to do it properly. I plant and budget before starting a scape. My recent 60cm tank was almost identical to this high tech set up. I came in around $2000 USD as I didn’t have to buy tools, water change equipment, or RO setup. I went a little cheaper on filter with the Biomaster thermo 250 over the 350. I think a lot go in only thinking to spend a couple of hundred dollars. They end up with a nice tank then don’t have many plants and little to no hardscape. Great video!!!

      Thanks so much for your feedback. Agree plan is key here. And even if we do not like to talk about costs, planning, and budgeting, as well as continuous up-keeping, is necessary. And like with many configurations you can use less or more, different brands, equipment, save here and there etc. Hopefully, a good starting point to understand the high-end systems. We always list the equipment in our video description but this is the first time when we matched this up with a cost. Thanks for watching 🙏

      Appreciate your feedback. Yup sometimes you pay the price twice because of the bad things. I started with an aquarium kit and from that only the glass left, filter was weak. CO2 was not good so had to replace that. And so many other stories. It is good in general if you can consult with a retail or a friend before you place an order to make sure the system is working well together for a long time. 👍

    Hello guys...and ladies from Hungary... found this channel few days ago, looking to find some aquascaping content to "really begin" in aquatic scaping. I've been doing some aquaristic for 15 years, with long pauses in between. My last tanks were really low budget... and it was quite a challenge to maintain plants and scape in such conditions. I've been watching almost all your videos for days now... Really impressive and great job. This one is really interesting, cause I placed my orders to acquire a 75P tank today. Your budgets are really high, but as you say, it's a non compromise version. Living in switzerland, were everything is 2 or 3 time more expensive than in the rest of the world (really Oo), I assume a perfect balance between your non compromise version and my possibilities. The difference between today and 10 years ago, is that i understood what kind of scape I really want and what such a long terme investment it implies. In fact, buying so much "at the begining material" seems prohibitive, but you know that all material will last for years... I really wanted to thank you, all of you guys, for your tutos, masterclasses and real investment on learning, teaching and advising... hope we'lll find such shops in Switzerland...In fact, none of swiss shops had standards OptiWhite Aquas at that time...so I placed an ordrer by you :-)
    Thank you so much for the motivation and your deep truly loving of MTHFCKN Nature (was looking for such a TeeShirt, but you was out of stock XD)

    My jaw dropped after seeing the total cost of a high end setup. It's easy to buy everything high end but much more satisfying to buy stuff on a low budget and yet achieve the same results as a high end setup.
    BTW i wanna bring to your attention the Aquael Ultramax line of filters which you may want to consider carrying in your shop. They have got good reviews online. They're rated for larger tanks, comes with a pre-filter for easy mechanical filter cleaning just like the Oase and the best part is they're cheaper than the Oase. The only downside is the filters doesn't allow you to have a built-in heater.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  4 года назад

      Everyone needs to figure out how much willing to spend on the hobby. It does not make sense to spend all the money since you can upgrade many thing later. Money will not makes you happy in the hobby, neither will give you a better scape. You will do that. There are so many ways for the success and success mean different for most of us.
      We do not stock aquael gears as the rest is more reliable i would say. Aquael is similar like Atman which we have for the lower budget. Then Tetra, JBL a bit above. Oase, Eheim is the quality range and ADA is the upper-class premium. A tons of options oh and i forget Seachem Tidals and the rest which we still have :)
      Thanks for watching 😃

    Your passion for this hobby is inspiring. Even when putting together such an aspirational setup it’s possible to go further. How about an anti-algae electrolysis reactor? You have them in many of your showroom tanks at Greenaqua.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  4 года назад +1

      Thanks so much for your words. These anti-algae reactors are not a must have things to grow plants. Sometimes this is helpful but in general adds only a few percent to the overall success. There are much more important stuff to go after before you consider one.

    As a kid, in the early 90s, I had an aquarium and totally botched it. My most expensive piece of equipment was a heater (you actually had to use a screwdriver to adjust the temperature). Fish died, didn't think of the hobby for almost 20yrs.
    4yrs ago, someone abandoned 2 small goldfish in a tiny container near my apartment. I took them in and bought the basics. Unfortunately the only lived for about a year (probably ammonia poisoning as I'd never heard of the nitrogen cycle). After the goldfish, I decided to get some tetras... 3yrs on, I'm sitting with a low-tech betta tank, a high-tech 60p, with a Twinstar 600s and trying to maintain an Iwagumi

    Thankyou for this video. I thought I was well prepared when entering the world of aquascaping, unfortunately not so... I just have to make due with my Rio180 tank and put more thought into tweaking the internal filter...I already filled it up to the rim with Eheim substrate (and on top some sponges).
    Or, ditch the internal filter and go for a bio master 350 (or the 600). I totally love aquascaping but with a low budget it’s hard work (and not as I’ve heard you say, 1,5hours per week) those 1,5 hours is correct, but that is without all the hours spend on soaking up information you need in order to spend just 1,5 hours each week on maintenance...

    Thanks for this. I was just thinking about emailing you to see if you could put together a suggested shopping list. My wife bought a basic 60cm tank at the end of last year and we worked together to plant it out in a jungle style. She had apparently seen aquascape aquariums on Pinterest. In trying to figure out how to deal with algae issues I came across your channel and now I've watched dozens of videos and am excited to move to the next level but still trying to understand what I would need to budget for to get a 'proper' aquascape tank going, now I know. Expensive, yes, but so are many other hobbies. An idea, probably not new to you guys - super clean long-form screensaver type videos that could be purchased (so no ads), great for waiting rooms etc.

    It's so funny to see a guy, who prefers to overpay to get highest quality equipment for his tank, but still buys Oase instead of ADA/EHEIM. I know, I know, you are sponsored by Oase.... Anyway, in my opinion, it's a very good video, at least because it helps you to understand what you really will need to be able to keep/maintain a tank. And also I think buying more plants (6 pots instead of 5) is always a good idea for beginner. Because if you are just entering this hobby you want to see results as fast as possible.
    Thank you for another great video!

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  4 года назад

      Thanks so much for your feedback. 👍I do not agree with the brand comparison here. Oase and Eheim is on the same level on build / material quality. Accessories, service is up on the same level too. But the 2 filtration using a different approach - Biomaster and Prof 4-5. The smaller filtrosmart is more in comparison with classics.
      ADA is a different league because of the material mainly, but very much double triple the price. We do have many in the showroom but not recommended here. You still can add up many branded stuff to blow up the budget. But for a general high-end it's a good starting point.

    • @edwardoid
      @edwardoid 4 года назад

       @Green Aqua I don't have a bunch of aquariums, so I can compare brands by feedbacks only. So as I see, there are very less problems with Eheim comparing with any other filter manufactor. And unfortunately it is not possible to compare 10-15-20yr old filters by Eheim with same age filters Oase filters. Eheim is really better in quality, more expensive in comparison with Oase. But with Oase you still can find nice filter with thermocontrol and save some additional 100eur for better light.
      Anyway. It's always a good idea to talk about money when you promote aquascaping as a hobby. Because you have know what is mandatory, and what is optional. You can save money on glass and use regular glass instead of optiwhite, but you can't use shitty EHEIM led instead of nice ADA RGB/Twinstar/etc...
      Once again, thanks!

      Dear Trevor, do not take this video as a must have list. Balazs pulled together some ingredients based on his experience. But this does not mean you need to follow every steps. These are the systems we're using at home and in the showroom as well. Works for us, but if the budget is limited we would go after something else or would find another way. 2nd hand, forums, swap things, diy solutions, cheaper alternatives. Or a smaller system.
      ideal small tank size? in between 45cm and 60cm. If this is mainly for shrimp the 45cm is fine but with the 60 you have more flexibility on the live stocks.

Next I want to rework the filter, so new pump, tubing, and biomedia. I have a 3d printer so I can relocate the light at the front, the hardscape I'll build with slate stone that I already own, so with those I intend to make a removable filter section containing all of the parts to clean, and I can even make this part a skimmer! And if I can make it, fit a C02 diffuser in the hardscape, our of view. For the livestock I think shrimp and guppy from local breeder so I can get them not too expensive . And for the plant, dwarf hair grass, some medium size plants for the background and some moss. The C02 system I'll try to built it using a reactor, with sugar, yeast, and agar agar to make the C02 solution last longer, and tubing to connect the output to a solenoid valve connected to the timer of the lamp.
    My budget is 250€, let's see in the future if I succeed!

      Yes, I agree with you completely! The tank is important, nothing else.

    If you are willing to buy second hand, you can still build a nice looking high end tank with about half the price (especially things like co2 and lighting which plenty are available), but better buy a tank brand new tho since you do not want any scratch
