If you die waiting HL3 is because you are a bad fan. True Fans like me we have healthy lifes, exercices to have a good heart, diet food, no alcohol, no cigarrettes, yoga, meditation, prostate exams and never go out home to prevent accidents. When the saga ends I will have enough time to get a normal careless life and die, never before!
. Kirenja Of course, we already have graphics options in video games that are not present in real life, like bloom, motion blur (which is bad imo) or chromatic aberration...
Wow.. just wow. Such an emotional video expression of the Freeman over a decade later. And not a word was spoken. Does Gabe know what he has done to the world?
Source 2 is on the works. Once it gets released, the first games that will use it will be Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 (not that probably) and Dota 2 (very probably).
I'm guessing they are building the engine that the retail version of Black Mesa will work on. They BM team specifically said they are building it on a new source engine (just not source 2). I honestly doubt that HL3 will ever be released.
This was just amazing. Very well made, edited, filmed, hell, the actor was amazing as Gordon Freeman. The only other thing I can say is that this was a pure masterpiece.
On August 24th 2017 which will forever be known as the biggest upheaval in videogame history otherwise known as "Black Thursday" by some, at precisely 11:48 PM Gordon Freeman, passed peacefully away in his sleep, he was announced DOA. He left behind Dog, a beloved machine companion, his fiancée Alyx, His colleges, Dr. Kleiner and Magnusson, Adrian the marine with the courage of a lion, Barney Calhoun, the security guard that never stopped trying, the old guard who left valve and last but not least his employer G-Man. At his funeral it was decided it would be a closed casket. Freeman was a MIT Grad, a lover, a friend and a hero. Out of decency, Gabe Newell was barred from the ceremony, with Marc Laidlaw finishing his sermons, Mr.Freeman was finally laid to rest.
Fantastic work. I've seen this a few years ago, and for some reason, I was unable to forget this sketch. I think it has something to do with the way you've portrayed Gordon along with the music - Makes it feel like it's been too long and Half-Life became sluggish and lost its edge, just like Gordon in this video... Yet, despite all of that, you can still his crowbar. He remembers how to handle the Gravity Gun to an extent, and you can see a glimpse of the glow of the Lambda sign on the HEV suit when he opens the closet to take another what I assume to be Breen's Private water reserves... Maybe to forget about everything to take away the pain... Everything perfectly sets up to tell us the story of a shadow of what used to be a great franchise, and how it has everything it needs to be great again... "...Come on Gordon, we've got work to do."
Imagine Valve's joking? And one day you log in your Steam account, and randomly see Half-Life 3 NOW AVAILABLE on Steam's frontpage. No announcements, no trailers, no teasers... Just the finished game made with Source 2... Wouldn't it be historical?
The saddest part of this for me is the fact that I've stopped thinking 'when' thoughts for Half-Life 3, and begun to move on to 'If'. I mean, let's look at the facts...we've heard nothing, seen nothing, and gotten no actual indication that they care about, or ever plan to make the game. If you viewed the Valve website and nothing else from 2007 on, you might not even be able to tell that there ever WAS a Half-Life. That's how intent Valve is on forgetting, and making us forget. Every year, we move farther away. Fifth anniversary of Half-Life 2, fifth of Episode 2, next the twentieth of Half-Life...all the while, Valve moves on to new series, new projects, new plans, all to take us all farther away in our eternal voyage from the next game than ever. Maybe this isn't an apoapsis, maybe this is an escape-trajectory. Maybe the passing years aren't catalysts to bring us a new inevitability, a new game -- but instead to make us forget. To stop us from caring. To break us. We're all so depressed that we've had to wait so long for Half-Life 3, but maybe, all along, it hasn't been a wait -- it was the process of moving on. We're all moving on, and one day, Half-Life will be forgotten. By Valve, by fans, by all of us. And that day of reckoning is close at hand. Don't drink the water. Valve is making us forget. :
We'll be getting to this level of graphic realism until the game gets released.. Valve is kinda dumb to not make the game because the longer it takes to release the bigger the expectations. Take a look at 2K with Borderlands 2,they stated that Borderlands 3 will not be made anytime soon, yet they announced the 3rd game so I believe they knew that waiting creates huge expectations, take Duke Nukem Forever as a example of fail, the game itself is not that bad but after over 10 years you would expect something much better.
I disagree, I think the longer they wait the less interested people will become until when (or rather 'IF') an announcement does come people will just be like 'pffffffff this will probably be triple A garbage not like the originals' or worse 'what's half life? A new IP?' XD
Dom Dal it's valve were talking about here. They are relevant and well known for great games. The followup for Half-Life 2 has become a cult classic. There are memes and it's even compared to eternity through jokes.
Noooo! Gordon! Why?! The can! I can hear the guard's voice "pick up the can". I remember throwing it in his face, then running away from him chasing me... I remember the man sitting next to a crying woman, comforting her... I remember Father Grigori who died for our... fun. I remember my squad of loyal ant-lions. I remember the blind dragon I had to crawl around to activate fuel and oxygen flow. I remember the scientist hanging from the lift-car. I remember activating the alarm and being scolded for that... I still remember, Gordon. I still remember it was a sci-fi puzzle game, not a COD clone. Yeah... Now I remember why I don't wait for HL3. I'm afraid it will be a Crysis+BF4+Dead Space with 0 fun puzzles, no science jokes and null black humor. No... I still hope they'll make it right.
The moment he threw the Can at the Trash and that i saw it on the Floor, i immediately thought of the "Pick up that Can!" moment of the beginning of HL2... God damnit this memories... Now we need the Third one and Life will be completed.
This vid just makes the reality of Half-Life 3's nonexistence even more depressing than it already was. For extra depression points, think about all the fans that have passed away since 2004 that will never be able to see Half-Life 3. The feels.
so sad to see gorden freemen like this,he used to be an hero, gravity gun used to help him kill zombies and headcrabs, and now all he can do is siting on a old chair, drinking beer, and use gravity gun to throw the cans in to trash cans
I was expecting him to shoot himself cus fucking valve is so fucking slow at making this game while other games like assassins creed is being pumped out twice a year. Whats taking so slow? its been 10-11 years now, I know making a game takes time but it doesn't take a decade to make a fucking game. This better be the best game in the world if it takes that long with state of the art groundbreaking graphics, perfect story line, and everything. So please finish it already, I already waited since 2004.
Gabe said in the interview, that before they want to work on HL3 itself they want to figure out how an engine can transition animation and idle state without locking the player/NPC (like in Battlefield or Call of Duty) but also natural..
I think that they're working on a new engine. There are some leaked photos of an L4D2 map remade with better graphics, and some other leaked stuff about it. But I could be wrong.
Honestly. If they released HL3 someone would bitch that it's another basic fps or something along those line. Maybe HL3 is best left dead. Or maybe release it anyways (if ever made) and tell those types to shove it.

Actually, the modded versions of the classics ran on the Quake engine, but the source remakes ran on the Source Engine, and later on Valve used Source Engine 2 for Half Life 2, L4D1 and 2, TF2, Portal, and such.
Valve. You owe us a story, you promised it to us. You told us you were going to finish it. You have not delivered. How many years has it been? Do you not care about things as you used to? Does it even matter to you anymore? Does it matter if you think about the fans who have died waiting to see the conclusion of this story? How many actually hoped to see this come to conclusion before they did? What about the people just discovering it to find out all of a sudden, boom, Valve doesn't care anymore. They have to have the means to do this, they have the resources sitting at their finger tips and just will not make good on that promise they gave us all those years ago. I just want a story. A grand story, to enjoy, to care about the characters in it, and to see that story we all started so long ago get the finish it deserves, not this limbo hell it has been sitting in, stagnating. Give us that story Valve.
Ever since I was a child I dreamed of a Sci-Fi themed story that has a impacting, realistic, and compelling storyline. Half-Life finally started that story, with creativity, action, and a storyline. Something that wasn't in any other video game at the time. It was almost perfect. Half-Life 2 and it's episodes was more sensible. With it's interactable mechanics, and characters that talk to me as my actions do that made me feel like I was in the actual experience. Something unique that wasn't in any other game. Then all of a sudden Valve doesn't care anymore leaving Half-Life in a hole, unfinished. Now we wait for what will finish the story of Half-Life, Half-Life 3. It's coming soon, I can feel it.
Valve actually doesn't owe you anything. Also, the developers themselves choose the projects they want to work on. Roll around on their chairs, with their desks.
I really need to ask this and please don't kil me, why do people love this game so much? I've never played it but I've seen that this game has a gigantic fanbase.
A lot of it has to do with the time that the first game came out. I remember being awestruck by the unique atmosphere, story, puzzles, and encounters. But for me, and many others, the appeal is the story questions it raised. For example, google or youtube search for "half-life g man". He's an interesting character, most likely alien, that is never explained, and at the end of the first game he offers you a job. In the second they embellish more, but that game introduced a lot of characters that people came to love the game for on its own. So there are a lot of things for different people. I'd recommend trying both games just in case there is something you like as much in it.
Despite involving a lot of really generic elements it retains a sense of identity, although it could be argued that HL is part of the reason those elements are now considered generic in the first place. A large part of the reason people still talk about HL3 is because the last installment ended on a cliffhanger, but it also helps that the games were good enough to make people want to see a conclusion in the first place. They pull off linear shooters in a way that most games today can't seem to get right. You should probably check them out if that sounds at all appealing to you. Hell, buy the orange box even if it doesn't, it's one of the best deals in gaming.
Yeah man, i have the same thought, like, even if they are gonna release HL3 i think it will 60% suck cuz you know, they won't be putting much effort in it and they have NO fucking fantasy. They'll be like: Fans: WE WANT HL3!!! Valve: Ok fine!! Here, catch *Throws discs of HL3* *And then the storyline is like destroy the borealis ka boom bom blooey bam badam- THE END*

This is depressing.... too many fans have died waiting for HL3.
Their blood is on Gabe's hands

i want more about the story :D
I cry :´( ... Please Gaben... PLEASE.
Despite the fact that this was clearly a parody, it was actually really touching :(
Shit. This is really sad. Gabe what are you doing? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!
if this was REALLY half life 2, that can would have bounced around the garage at 500 meters/second until it decapitated him!
The gun rusted over time lol.
Wow.. just wow.
Such an emotional video expression of the Freeman over a decade later.
And not a word was spoken.
Does Gabe know what he has done to the world?
If this doesn't make Valve cry then nothing will.
Gordon will one day put that suit back on (Not obese), and will go on more adventures. Only thing is, that day is close, really close.
How do u know? Will it be realised?!?!?!?! C´mon TELL ME
***** Yes.
Source 2 is on the works. Once it gets released, the first games that will use it will be Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 (not that probably) and Dota 2 (very probably).

Valve need to hire you guys to do the announcement trailer! That was great
Nearly 4 more years have passed and we still live in the same sea of silence, it seems we are all consigned to oblivion.
Помню был малым, лет 6 - 7, гамал в HL 1 и в HL 2, прошло 10 лет, теперь уже взрослый, а третей части все еще нет. Ролик до слез.
I am sad now...
I WANT TO BELIEVE!! I CAN WAIT FOREVER!!
It had be awesome that Gordon would received a call from Valve at the end of the video :')
Момент когда фримен глянул на костюм...аж в дрожь бросает. Большой Лайк от меня, надеюсь Габен посмотрит.

Adam Denny unless the game sucks.
***** At this point in time Valve must be scared shitless to release anything related to a HL2 sequel because of the expectations people's have.
Dom Dal im sorry it cant happend, obama banned it. It would destroy the internet as we know.
Gordon Fatman is coming...
straight in the feels :( (great work!)
2022 fellas.
Noooo! Gordon! Why?! The can! I can hear the guard's voice "pick up the can". I remember throwing it in his face, then running away from him chasing me... I remember the man sitting next to a crying woman, comforting her... I remember Father Grigori who died for our... fun. I remember my squad of loyal ant-lions. *I'm gonna fucking cry*

This is literally how every fan feels after all those online "announcements" and rumors over the years. I am one of them, and it's a sad feeling.
"Forget About Freeman!"
Opposing Force reference.
If this is the shape Gordon's in after 10 long years... imagine what Alyx must look like. ._.
Make it Valve!
wait for source 2 to be finished and steam machine
the music is beautiful!! :) good video
you can listen to the track on the composers page here facebook.com/laurenkingnz :)
So sad.Gordon,we still waiting too.
Valve
Wat R U doing?
Valve
Stahp!
The moment he threw the Can at the Trash and that i saw it on the Floor, i immediately thought of the "Pick up that Can!" moment of the beginning of HL2... God damnit this memories... Now we need the Third one and Life will be completed.
While some gaemz are being milked to death....othes....others are just forgotten in the shadows of nowhere....
Now you should prepare and montage video in accordance with close perspective for Half Life 3!
And so Gordon Freeman died waiting to be written a storyline...
Masterpiece
Still waiting for Half-Life 3.
Never giving up!
me 2 brota gligori is w8 too
We miss you Gordon Freeman :(
Prayers for Valve to notice this vid
I couldn't hold back my tears..
This vid just makes the reality of Half-Life 3's nonexistence even more depressing than it already was. For extra depression points, think about all the fans that have passed away since 2004 that will never be able to see Half-Life 3. The feels.
Fantastic - so well made and great concept.
Poor Gordon.
Video is 5 minutes long, 5 x 3 = 15, the year is 2015, Half Life 3 confirmed
Great work!
Much feelz were had...
Poor Gordon...
Я блять ждал Half-life3 целых 8 сука лет!!!

This is sad. We love you, Gordon. Please come back.
so sad to see gorden freemen like this,he used to be an hero, gravity gun used to help him kill zombies and headcrabs, and now all he can do is siting on a old chair, drinking beer, and use gravity gun to throw the cans in to trash cans
i love how they included the "pick up that can"moment :D
Почему мне захотелось плакать ?:'(

Steam is just the distributing platform of Valve. Valve is the developer of the Half Life games.
And I don't think they have spend the past 11 years on making HL3. That would be hilarious.
Gabe said in the interview, that before they want to work on HL3 itself they want to figure out how an engine can transition animation and idle state without locking the player/NPC (like in Battlefield or Call of Duty) but also natural..
Valve developers work on the games they want to, not what the community wants.
And they did not fail with that.
I think that they're working on a new engine. There are some leaked photos of an L4D2 map remade with better graphics, and some other leaked stuff about it. But I could be wrong.
Half life 3 is 5 minutes closer to being released thank you.
Excuse me while I rave. This is utter perfection. Great work guys, it was worth the wait and better than I expected!
Now its true aactually
The music is really great and touch my heart!
Guys... there is hope again... #alyx
i miss u gordon, i want to see u ONE LAST TIME...... I want to see u FOREVER
u are my HERO!
Honestly.
If they released HL3 someone would bitch that it's another basic fps or something along those line. Maybe HL3 is best left dead.

Им надо было еще добавить промежуточные вставки Dota2 и CS:GO по телику.
Ссылаясь на то, что из-за этих игр они забывают о Гордоне. :/
Great work, great storytelling.
Totally made my imagination run wild at how it would play out if H3 started with this.
Pensar que morire y no jugare HL3
This is wonderful. Very emotional, actually.
don't worry source engine 2 announced XD
***** source 2, why 3?
***** no, lfd and lfd2 have same engine, both have source engine

Actually, the modded versions of the classics ran on the Quake engine, but the source remakes ran on the Source Engine, and later on Valve used Source Engine 2 for Half Life 2, L4D1 and 2, TF2, Portal, and such.
TheDozer Studios Its Source version 2, an incremental update. Now they announced Source 2, a whole new engine. Bad naming, I know.
We will always waiting for you, Gordon... See you in HF3... Semper Fi, brother.

why do you ask, not play?
A lot of it has to do with the time that the first game came out. I remember being awestruck by the unique atmosphere, story, puzzles, and encounters. But for me, and many others, the appeal is the story questions it raised. For example, google or youtube search for "half-life g man". He's an interesting character, most likely alien, that is never explained, and at the end of the first game he offers you a job. In the second they embellish more, but that game introduced a lot of characters that people came to love the game for on its own. So there are a lot of things for different people. I'd recommend trying both games just in case there is something you like as much in it.
It ends with lot of questions about the characters, mostly G-man
Despite involving a lot of really generic elements it retains a sense of identity, although it could be argued that HL is part of the reason those elements are now considered generic in the first place.
Random Man That's a great answer friend, I'll sure check it out when I get the money. Thanks.
Ya saldrá The Last Guardián... Ya saldrá Fallout 4... Ya saldrá Shenmue 3... Ya veo venir Half Life 3
This is the saddest video ever, period.
I don't know. I want to play HL3 but I don't want to play HL3. I mean... what if it will suck? It could be a bigger fail than Duke Nukem Forever.
I wouldn't care if it would suck, I would still by it
Yeah man, i have the same thought, like, even if they are gonna release HL3 i think it will 60% suck cuz you know, they won't be putting much effort in it and they have NO fucking fantasy.
They'll be like:
Fans: WE WANT HL3!!!
Valve: Ok fine!! Here, catch *Throws discs of HL3*
*And then the storyline is like destroy the borealis ka boom bom blooey bam badam- THE END*
19/03/2015 R.I.P Half-Life 3 :(
"Don't drink the water! They put something in it... to make you forget. I don't even remember how I got here"
So that's what's happened =\
Isn't water , it's tears... Our tears...

Not with a number 3, but at least there's still hope with Alyx
