In episode 2, when an elevator with people is about to fall, Gordon screams "No!" as it does so. I think he has a crush on that blonde girl judging from the sighting in episode 1.
I love how human he is. He was just some scientist a moment before, now he is in literally hell where his friends are getting killed one by one by creatures he has no idea existed before and horrors one cannot imagine
I love how you made Gordon look beat up, tired, scared and soaked in dirt from head to toe. That was exactly how I imagined he would look after all the shit he went through! This series is an absolute dream come true as a long time Half Life fan 🙏🏻
I am very pleased with how you decided to have Gordon pause to hesitate and/or think before every action he took. This made things more tense. Every move he made seemed more methodical and deliberate as a result of this.
literally the only criticism i have of this is the voice acting for the guard but then the voice acting for freeman was flawless and made up for it. amazing work as usual

Holy shit this was really good. People often forget that Gordon's not some action hero, he's a physicist in a hazard suit surviving through almost impossible odds. The subtle way he started walking quicker towards the doors after hopping over the first exposed wiring, the jump scare in the vents, hell even the very brief one-liner of his name are all super in-character. Excellent job!
In Zen there were others in HEV suits that got wasted. The suit recognizes weapons and tracks ammunition. They knew about the creatures on the other side and some surely were battle trained.
Favourite bit was him deactivating the gun turret. I really got a sense of how nerve-wracking that’d be. The original sound effects, like the clanging of the crowbar, are blended in nicely as well. Great job.
Very nice! I like how bulky the suit looks and how that's reflected in Gordon's movement. It's realistic. The slender skin-tightness of how the HEV is usually portrayed really doesn't lend itself well to the reality of armor.
Oh cool. I thought it's an in-game reference. I was quite disappointed cause I thought I forgot something in-game, because I LOVE this game. It's an iconic game!
I have always wanted a live action or animated Half-Life. This fills that wish and I hope one day it will get to Roll FIN? at the end. I would love to see the events as seen through Adrian's experiences as well.
I only recently went through the HL games for the first time (finished Episode 2, 2 nights ago now). I found the longer I inhabited the HEV suit, the more and more amazed I became at the world I found myself in. As a lifelong diehard Halo fan, I can say that Half-Life is now easily tied for my favorite sci-fi universe. I've never played a game quite like HL1 in such that it let me PERFECTLY put myself in Gordon's shoes - or, like I said earlier - inhabit the HEV suit. I was Gordon, and Gordon was me, there was no distinction. I'm really not sure how to round this one out, but for as little time as I've spent with this 26 year old franchise - I love Half-Life and you're an absolute legend for allowing us to re-experience Gordon's journey in such a cool way. I absolutely can't wait to see this finished. Keep up the amazing work my friend! 🔥🧡
After watching this animation, in this style, i could totally imagine a fully fledged movie, where you hear Gordons thoughts in most of the settings, when he is not interacting with other allies.
Like in Sherlock Holmes Gordon calculates everything in milliseconds foreseeing all the consequences of every action based on deep knowledge in physics and then turns into a cold killing machine eliminating every threat. He is completely silent because he is doing it all the time in his mind and emotional relations enfeeble his intellectual potential.
Freeman's Mind pretty much fits that description. Not a movie, of course, just a machinima. But probably the next best thing...assuming you don't mind the narrative of Gordon's mind being more of a dark action/comedy rather than a tense thriller, as was portrayed here. I'd love to see an actual Half-Life feature film, but I'd also be nervous as hell that it would turn out to be shit! 😅
It's just unbelievable that this insane amount of work was done by just one man. It feels like this was done by a studio or something. Truly impressive! Looking forward to the next episode. Good luck man.
Run. Think. Shoot. Live. It’s as though each scene encompasses the core gameplay of the original Half-Life. The quality has been increasing and I’m excited to see more.
This is really fantastic, Gordon feels so much more human. And also from the third person knowing what is coming but not being able to do anything makes the jump scares worse 😂
I can see the Creator was having fun playing lethal company while making this animation, I could hear two or three sound effects right from it Please keep these up they are beyond fantastic
I feel when gordon gets to the we got hoatiles chapter and meets the US Marines. Their probably be evident conflict among the marines who believe they have to follow their orders to kill everyone accept Gordon, and the ones who believe this is wrong.
i like how this video reminds that gordon is a human being just like everyone else. He struggles, fumbles, gets panic, and all he ever wanted is to survive.

Maybe later... But not at first. You think he's experienced for that sort of thing at the beginning of his life? It was pretty intense situation back there. Being alone for so much time and trying to figure out all by yourself... makes you a bit of edge, don't you think?
I love two things especially about it a) how Gordon runs away before he's able to learn that the military is coming b) how terrifying you made the vents to be Really solid job. The things I'm not sold on are the character models and voice acting for security guards, but I think it's still cool!
This is so amazing, seeing Gordon from an outside perspective, rather than “being him” really makes you feel how alone he is and how difficult it was to survive
please, never stop until the end of HL1 at the very least. it's clear you have a passion with every episode of this retelling and it shows in how you portray gordon as a mostly silent protagonist. only one line from this scared, scarred scientist trying to survive. and it's to a random co-worker we can bet he's never met until this moment forced them to cross paths in this hellish moment of Half Life history no thanks to how huge Black Mesa is. it's not even cheesy, it's simply stating the facts, as if using the question the guard asks him about his name, to reassure himself he's still Gordon Freeman. we all know how the story ends. but Gordon isn't *the one Free Man* yet. and it shows in the voicework.
Listen, Animux. Your Half-life serial project is, like, the only one that is so... Beautiful. You need to continue it, because, I think, all of your effort worth the result. We will continue to believe in you and... We will support you. Always. Also, Hi from Russian fans of Half-life. Keep it on!
Another incredibly well made chapter. I'm really enjoying the facial expressiveness of Gordon, especially the headcrab at 3:08. Just adds another dimension
Your cinematography on this is astounding, great use of your angles and framing. Love how you've managed to make use of the lighting to convey such suspense and uneasiness. Gordons behavior in this is spot on with someone whose capable but scared, confused and just trying to get from point A to B
I especially appreciated the facial expression on Gordon. A combination of fear, alertness, and focus. Combine with the sweat and blood it really made you feel like this was a man that had survived a true disaster and was only getting warmed up.

This is incredible, dude. The atmosphere, the face animation is so well done (which most animations/SFMs miss), the way he behaves... I could praise it all day. Well fucking done.
I'm always delighted to see you're still working on stuff. You have a very unique way of portraying the series as very grounded and human, letting Gordon be an actual person going through this shit.
This is downright incredible. Makes me wish for the whole game to get adapted like this. The camera work and subtle acting from Gordon is just amazing. It all works so damn well and I'm super glad this was recommended to me!
Love this thank you very much it was absolutely fun and entertaining and exciting to relive it in this way I really wish the whole thing was captured this way but I do understand the mammoth amount of work that would take maybe one day
Absolute love it. Keep it going Every time you upload a new one I'll rewatch it from the top I love that Gordon can only carry one weapon in each hand, can't wait to see how you figure out he carrying the crowbar and a the Mp5
God damn man, this made me extremely nostalgic. Half Life, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift were a HUGE part of my childhood. I could never play it enough, even using console commands on Opposing Force to go through the original half life as Adrian Shepherd just to role play. While also having /notarget on and using /impulse_76 in the console commands to spawn HECU Marines and use them to clear the facility. Fuck this was awesome. I want to see more please "FORGET ABOUT FREEMAN, WE ARE PULLING OUT" Edit: I legit just found this channel today and I have been watching everything else, all great work.
This is insanely good! Never knew this existed until today. I love the atmosphere, Gordons characterization and the attention to detail, like him always carrying both weapons like the revolver and crowbar at the same time since there's no space on the suit to store them. That always bugged me a bit when playing the games. 🤓 Amazing work!
Love how Gordon was only willing to say his name. Its crazy how well the voice fits

This is incredible, dude. The atmosphere, the face animation is so well done (which most animations/SFMs miss), the way he behaves... I could praise it all day. Well fucking done.
Thank you so much ❤
the balls you have to add Gordon a voice. And it's a voice that really works for him. It's amazing. This is a fantastic work
I'm always delighted to see you're still working on stuff.
You have a very unique way of portraying the series as very grounded and human, letting Gordon be an actual person going through this shit.
thank you so much
Your movies are amasing. Can't believe this is done all by yourself. Nice work !
This is downright incredible. Makes me wish for the whole game to get adapted like this. The camera work and subtle acting from Gordon is just amazing. It all works so damn well and I'm super glad this was recommended to me!
Thank you
Love this thank you very much it was absolutely fun and entertaining and exciting to relive it in this way I really wish the whole thing was captured this way but I do understand the mammoth amount of work that would take maybe one day
I've beaten HL1 so many times that I immediately remembered the electrified water room from this area. Great work capturing the game likeness.
From the thumbnail I legit thought this was a live action film
This was great! I'm glad the voice works with Gordon, feels fitting that he only said his name.
That part with the headcrab in the vent jumpscare got me good. I think you nailed on the horror aesthetic right there.
Absolute love it. Keep it going
Every time you upload a new one I'll rewatch it from the top
I love that Gordon can only carry one weapon in each hand, can't wait to see how you figure out he carrying the crowbar and a the Mp5
thank you so much
i didnt know this is a one man project this is beautiful. keep up with the great work my friend this is amazing
I want to see more please
"FORGET ABOUT FREEMAN, WE ARE PULLING OUT"
Edit: I legit just found this channel today and I have been watching everything else, all great work.
Absolutely phenomenal work. I love the use of handheld cam and the fluidity of the action.
Thank you very much!
It just keeps getting better and better, this is beautiful. What an amazing start to the new year!
Thank you so much!
