Give me a break. The karaoke singer SUCKS compared to Dennis. Shame on Tommy Shaw for booting out the leader of Styx and turning it into a karaoke act!!
To hell with the dislikes... this song ROCKS and is VERY reminiscent of old Styx. HELL YES guys... keep it up... i've got this new LP on pre-order and can't wait to get my grubby little Styx ears on it!!!
I saw them last night and this is what they opened the show with. I was blown away at how great it is live!! Perfect song to get the evening rocking. Lawrence Gowan is a great front man, so animated and wild. Lol
Folks, to this day these guys continue to be one of the strongest live rock bands to witness from back in the day - when they played in their basements in the 60's and early 70's. Both Dennis and Lawrence are bad asses at their craft. Great players, great voices and great writers,,, WOW, how can anyone dispute that. I too was a skeptic when Lawrence first joined the band in the mid 90's but I'm here to say, THEY'RE AS STRONG AS THEY EVER HAVE BEEN on stage...!! Many thanks to Styx....
Finally, someone willing to just state the obvious without crying DDY makes Styx what they are. Gowan has been fantastic since replacing DDY. In every aspect. Doesn't take away anything DDY did. He was equally fantastic. Both guys have been there about the same time. They both make Styx. JY, Chuck and Tommy are still the core. And Todd has filled some pretty big shoes effortlessly! Styx is as good today at they were in 1974, 1978, 1991, 1996, 2003 and live ever since they started playing gigs at graduations and weddings in the 60's!!!
This is awesome! I love the sound! STYX has gone back to their rock and roll roots! This is the sound I grew to love in the 70's and 80's. WELL DONE!!!
I saw Styx on the Pieces of Eight Tour in 1978 at the Montreal Expo (Trooper opened). Seeing them live only cemented my love of the band. I had my doubts when I got it, but this record is a very pleasant surprise.
These so called Rock n Roll bands that are out today really need to listen to what TRUE ROCK AND ROLL is. And you hear it right here with STYX. This song is Classic and Current at the same time. TRUE masters of music.
Phenomenal tune!! Love It!! Another STYX classic is born! Can not wait to hear the rest of the album. Hoping they tour SW Ontario in support of this album!! :)
Styx needs to do more videos like this one off their new album The Mission. I saw them last month and they were awesome and so are these new songs..✌️❤️🎶
One Greatest album can't wait get cd. Truly love song. And video Fanatic Styx always Rocks. A plus. Always Styx Fan since high school back 1980s. Still Greatest Rock Band.
Oh sure definitely. I knew it and wanted to make sure you correct about Oberheims. I had to think about it a bit. Obies were that Paradise theater sound. I think Cornerstone era was still using Hammonds but layering Fender Rhodes on like a synth.
Gary Liozzo and Barry Mraz were their engineers for those Chicago studio days. Hammonds and Fenders Rhodes with mono synths...Deyoung gear was light. Not a Rick Wakeman but not quite an Eno!
Glad the lead off single on this is a Gowan song. Love his stuff! Also the vocal harmonies on "Feel the pressure, break through the atmosphere!" are nice callbacks to the harmonies of yore. Also happy to see JY dust the rust off and break out a new guitar solo.
After reading the comments, I just have this to say... You Gowan, JY, Tommy haters can go off into your own little corners, and plot for a reunion that will never happen, while us Styx fans relish them, their music and this gift of an album that they've given us. Don't forget your lotion on the way out.
Saw these guys in Watertown Ny they brought the house down ...what a jammin concert! The longevity of these guys is amazing to behold! Now i need to attend more concerts in the future ...they are so damn fun!
Listen closely all that have grown up wit this band this is Styx on fire. This is truly an exciting tune and he’ll yea I want more. Thanks fellas for keeping it alive and well.
without notice I was at this show in Milwaukee. They did 2 takes. Started the show and one after show which we were allowed to stay. Plus I am very proud to own the first setlist with this song. We sat first row and he walked right to me and gave it to me. Must have been my dancing lil
These guys put out a great solid effort and some of you haters sit and pick and complain. I say get your ass out of the basement and make music yourself and see just what goes into it. I have seen this line up and they are Rockin. Many props to the band. Keep Rockin...
I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I play Bass and have been in MANY bands. I just recently decided to quit the band biz and focus on more productive music ventures as a solo artist. I just got TIRED of the BullShit with having to put up with something that will in-evitably IMPLODE after 6 to 8 months of hard work and perseverance. How all these bands stayed together is amazing. If all these people want to BITCH about it, they are MORE than welcome to do it themselves. Let them LEARN what it's really about. Oh yes ---- NO AUTO TUNE. REAL Musicians do NOT use Auto Tune as a CRUTCH.
Though theres talent with the line up it simply AINT STYX! And never will be without the nucleus. Its just a shame that they just write Deyoung off and cant get along to write and perform great music...Taking him off the website was pretty low
Have you heard the rest of the CD yet? It's superb! My single complaint is JY only does vocals on one song. Otherwise, wow! It has that original progressive Styx sound, before Dennis started filling the albums/CD's up with ballads and show tunes. A great trippy vibe to it...
Ive only listened to it a few times but what Ive heard is pretty darn good!...And should be considering Shaw and Young are behind this...But as you said and is my main complaint, why Didnt JY contribute more vocally to this album?...I mean he was the main vocalist back in early STYX and I love what he did! I have JY's 3 solo albums and love them as well!
Jamison Dean ~ I know he use to do other non-musical things outside of Styx dealing with solar energy. But that was years ago. He also has an engineering degree. I believe I read a while back, that he helps with the engineering aspect of Styx's recordings. Other then that, I couldn't say. But, I do love the CD, and so I'll just be happy with it...😉🎶💜🎤
This is amazing! Great job guys!! Sounds just sooooo styx, a new song but familiar sound.. cant wait to rock out to this live in due time. People, if you've never seen styx live, you're missing out. I have 8 times. Id choose them over the stones even. Most underrated band in rock history. Also larry you are a great fit! If yall wanna see dennis he's still out there doin his thing too! Im going to see him this summer. I love all of you !
This song reminds me of the energy and quality that Styx was famous for in the late 70's.
Ya the Wooden Nickel Years….👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Yes! Love it. Tight sound. Reminds me of Equinox.
Give me a break. The karaoke singer SUCKS compared to Dennis. Shame on Tommy Shaw for booting out the leader of Styx and turning it into a karaoke act!!

I love the DDY area, but this album is true STYX. Gowan sounds great on Dennis's songs.
I saw them last night and this is what they opened the show with. I was blown away at how great it is live!! Perfect song to get the evening rocking. Lawrence Gowan is a great front man, so animated and wild. Lol
Gone Gone Gone is an awesome album opener! Very reminiscent of the beginning of a Deep Purple album
I'm not even a big STYX fan but this entire album kicks ass!
@@justbattythe karaoke singer Gowan SUCKS on this song. Are you deaf???
Thank God Styx isn't done yet. I love all their music and this new song is just like all that I love.

Holy STYX !!!!!!!!!! Awesome song!! Makes me so mad modern American radio will not play this.
They won't play the song because it sucks. Blame that on Tommy replacing the leader of Styx with a karaoke singer.
My new favourite Styx song! My favourite older song by them is Castle Walls from The Grand Illusion
Still love me some Styx
This is awesome! I love the sound! STYX has gone back to their rock and roll roots! This is the sound I grew to love in the 70's and 80's. WELL DONE!!!
James Aaron Lindsey it isn't the same without Dennis deyoung I don't like this new guy
Yaw...I think this is the new song by STICK
Well he ain't coming back so deal with it.
I can live without Dennis!
not only is deyoung not wanna come back, styx does not want him back!
Gowan rocks that hat
I saw Styx on the Pieces of Eight Tour in 1978 at the Montreal Expo (Trooper opened). Seeing them live only cemented my love of the band. I had my doubts when I got it, but this record is a very pleasant surprise.
Smokin'! And the rest of the new CD delivers, too!
Somebody must have put these guys into a time machine, 'cause they're timeless!
Surprised and impressed. Looking forward to more.
This song was awesome in concert! It was so much fun watching them preform.
These so called

Bro chill man
Fellas! OH EM GEE It's SO STYX TO ME! Dig the harmonies! Gone Gone Gone it can't go wrong! SHARING!✌️💕🤘🎶🤓
Great Great song.......One of the best live bands around.
I saw their concert, in Chicago omg. it was AMAZING. They played their new album . JUST no words.
This album is truly magical. The return of Styx
what a rocking song!! great to see them back blazing away!
Wow, wow, wow, love the guitars, let's hope the album is in the same vein.Cant wait.
Fabulous!! Love this!! Can't wait for the new CD to arrive! Thanks guys! See you soon. 💕
Styx rocked the house last week! I caught my 24 y.o. son playing their songs several times this week!!
Phenomenal tune!! Love It!! Another STYX classic is born! Can not wait to hear the rest of the album. Hoping they tour SW Ontario in support of this album!! :)
Styx hitted in the nail again! Very setentesque vibe... can't wait to hear the whole album (On CD)
Wonderful album in my collection, greetings from Italy!
Great harmonies. Sounds of the late 70's Styx.
Styx is back.
Will be in front April 8th. Love these Guys!
The new album is a fantastic piece of music! Saw them live with Kansas ten years ago. It was amazing! A dream come true.....
Styx needs to do more videos like this one off their new album The Mission. I saw them last month and they were awesome and so are these new songs..✌️❤️🎶
What a great song. Definitely deserves another 3 minutes or so.
"Light it up, let's get this show on the road!" Right after that was sung, I immediately said "STYX is BACK! And with a VENGEANCE!"
Nice job Lawrence and as always great picking by JY!
That sounds like a Styx song! Excited for the new album in June
Great Styx stuff , been listening to them for years. Cornerstone best album hands down.
I get to see STYX next Friday!!!! The new album has already been pre-ordered.
Vintage Styx, Love It!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
IMHO this is the best song to come from any non-Dennis lineup of Styx.
Guessing this is gonna be part of a new record. I like it already
Lawrence Gowan was so amazing to see live! I couldn't take my eyes off him the whole show because he was so entertaining!
Air Supply guy stinks
I was blown away when I first heard this!
It sounds so much like old school Styx!
I like it! I like it a lot! Go Styx!!!
Love this performance.. and the album is very solid...excellent stuff indeed ...way to go STYX
New Styx? that was was pretty sweet song
Kick ass! Back on form methinks - can't wait to hear the complete album! :)
This is awesome!!! The energy is great, and Lawrence Gowan is an amazing artist who brings a lot of talent and energy to Styx, not to mention hot!
One Greatest album can't wait get cd. Truly love song. And video Fanatic Styx always Rocks. A plus. Always Styx Fan since high school back 1980s. Still Greatest Rock Band.
Wish this had more moog and synth. They always had such interesting bridges in their songs. I love the keyboard aspect of Styx.
Max Reichert i agree. it sounds really close to ye olde Styx it just needs that little extra to make it sounds right.
I agree also, completely. Best Styx songs had killer analog synth breaks... Hope they put some on the new LP.
JIF882 well not early on but definitely by the early 80s to get that Paradise Theater sound. I would think Moogs or ARPs originally dontcha think?
Oh sure definitely. I knew it and wanted to make sure you correct about Oberheims. I had to think about it a bit. Obies were that Paradise theater sound. I think Cornerstone era was still using Hammonds but layering Fender Rhodes on like a synth.

Sounds like the perfect opener for Sunday Night Football.
Better then ever!
Saw STYX in October.
Great show.
They had a blast and so did the audience!
This is really good!
excellent! thanks keeping it alive.
Awesome. That's all that can describe this. Just, Awesome.
This is badass! It's about time for some new music from Styx and there's more from The Mission which comes out in June. I can't wait.
This album is the best thing to happen to Styx fans since Tommy joined!!
If there was no Dennis, there would be no Styx.
@@James-ko3gwDDY is "Gone, Gone, Gone.........rockin' for years to crowds crowds crowds.

You must have been born in 1996
Elliot Hass 1990 😂
Gold. Got that classic Styx sound. Love it!
Hutch214 Classic Styx sound? I must have missed the part where Dennis Deyoung popped thru the floor and started playing and singing something good.

Styx has a new album! This song is sung by Lawrence Gowan, the replacement for Dennis DeYoung. It sounds like a musical trip to the 70's.
Love the fresh sound of this one.....keep on rockin boys.

I see Freddy, Lemmi and Prince sitting on a cloud around the heavenly tourntable and listening happily to the new styx vinyl.
So I do.
Going to be an anthem for many bands to come....

Love it! Styx guitars and vocal harmonies!!! YES!!! Great song. Can't wait for the album to drop...
Todd is a monster behind the drum kit - JP would be proud of how he's carried on his legacy!
