I picked this board up. It's a real sleeper hit and pretty great. The bios update made it run great and immediately out of the box with 5600mhz ram.

I was able to pick this board up for $70 at Microcenter with buying a 12600k CPU, so the total came out to $303 for the motherboard and CPU

Be aware! This MB can be a nightmare!
It has now been on the market for almost 1 year. Still, it seems to work with 2 rams at most. All compatible rams are listed on the official ASUS page for this motherboard, but only with a maximum of two slots. I tried everything to make it work with 4x 16gb but ended up with blue screens again and again. I have now taken out 2x 16gb and everything works fine...but I need 64gb!!!
This is a disaster: not only that I have now bought 2x 16gb for nothing. In addition, the space for the first ram slot was so tight that I had to remove the heatsink to even have enough space next to the CPU fan.
It is also incomprehensible that only the last bios update in July made it possible for my 6000mhz RAMs to be recognized as such. So that's a whopping 9 months since the motherboard was released.
What kind of idiots built this motherboard? For me, this was definitely the last ASUS product I bought! Horrible!!!

Hows the outlook for this board now in 2023? Have they updated the bios and fixed these issues?

Dude, you copy paste this in the other channel as well. It almost make you look like you arent being genuine with what you are saying.

bro which m.2 preferred for the windows boot drive. the CPU vs the chipset m.2 slots.
Actually, I will buy a corsair mp600 pro lpx that comes with a heat sink.
going to use on prime z690-A.
And wish to install the M.2 SLOT without a heat sink on the board. can u advise which slot is better or both are equal?

Both are pretty similar, just depends what features you really need. In my two videos on these boards I ran down the main differences, then it's just up to what you personally need from a motherboard.

I messed up my first build with a Gigabyte Aorus Elite DDR4 board but luckily got all my money back. I wanted to use this ASUS Prime Z690-A board and DDR5 but I need a low DDR5 (physically) as I will use an NH15 air cooler. I also need the fastest DDR5 cards (I am a scientist and want the fastest speed to RAM even at some small deterioration of latency). Finally, I need a guide so I cannot go wrong. I do not want to mess up this build. I need for example to understand exactly what power cables to use, do I need CORSAIR for example power unit of about 850 W or something, should it say "ATX power supply"? I am worried I may mess up this build. I will use the video on the chip (i9 12th gen K) and/or a small graphics card I have. I am not gaming but only driving a 4k screen no gaming. Do you have any advice for me.

Could you PLEASE let me know what the BEST z690 ddr4 is that has minimum 3 M.2 and good looks/rgb? I don't care how much it is as long as it's $500 or under. I'm so brain fogged from so many reviews and could REALLY use ur expertise 🙏🙏❤ Thank u!

Something like the MSI PRO Z690-A which I also covered on this channel should be fine. Or if you want something even more extreme, something like an Z690 Elite or Pro from Aorus would also be a good choice.

But this board dont have wifi.
So how can we solve that.

    • @avrona
      @avrona  2 года назад

You can just get a WiFi USB dongle if you want to stick with this board, or go with a board that has built-in WiFi.
