I have seen videos on b660 tomahawk wifi and it keeps very low temperature. MSI PRO Z690-A and b660 tomahawk are same price in my country. Which one do you think would keep lower temperatures on a 12600kf chip. I dont care about overclocking I just want the lowest temperatures I could get.

I have the board and my Ethernet cable isn’t working even though it’s functioning the system doesn’t recognize it. Do I need to install the drivers a s a fix?
I have read that the proper driver for the ethernet is on the disk that came with the board. I have not installed this board yet, so not 100% sure, but give it a try. Luckily I did buy an external optical drive years ago when pc stopped using them. If you have a SATA to USB cable you can use an old internal optical drive if you saved one.
I just built my next computer with this board and an i5 12400F. Its not a gaming computer so this combo will to all the work I need it to do. Also note that one of the usb ports on the left side is the for M-Flash and the manual states it as such.
I got this board a while back and so far it's been great. I ended up updating the BIOS and when I reset to factory defaults after messing around with my XMP profiles, the settings were different than what was default during a prior bios version for my 12700k. Safe to say that is expected - newer bios versions have different 'default' settings? I reverted everything to what I had been using rather than what was default, but outside of XMP I didn't change anything on the BIOS..so it was default vs default settings but it was different after a bios update.

so gigabyte have better cooling but less pcie x1, optical spdif, i don't really think it's important. Unless you care about network cards sound cards which i think is a waste of money if you have DACs, mixers, taking the sound away from the case. Considering USB, HDMI play better sound, wider bandwidth than spdif optical, which only has the plus of lowering noise. I would say those are not important

Love your channel thanks for all the reviews. I have a quick question I bought a 12700k and want to buy a ddr4 board that has thunderbolt headers in case I need tb in the future. Looks like the msi doesn’t have a tb card yet but looks like gigabyte and asus do. Would we most likely see a tb card for msi ? What is another board that is on par with this msi (ddr4) that i should look at? Only will be for audio recording and mixing. I have an external Antelope card that works in usb or thunderbolt
MSI has been experimenting with bundling expansion cards, like a PCIe storage card is some of their most high-end boards. This is still a really good board and if Thunderbolt is all you need, I'd just say go with this one and buy a Thunberbolt card elsewhere.
It has, like all motherboards, an ethernet port, but it doesn't support WiFi without an external USB dongle. If you connected it up to your router via Ethernet and still doesn't work, install the network drivers from the included CD.
I am trying to build my first PC so I was wondering if any of you guys know if the MSI Pro Z690 A-Wifi DD4 is compatible with Cooler Master MasterAir MA624 Stealth? Hey mate, mind if i ask a random question, my asus b660m is showing 15.8gb ram not 16gb in windows. I dont see an igpu setting since the cpu is 12600kf. Any thoughts why? Cheap buggy board maybe, shotty bios? Pretty sure it's saving ram for intel gfx which dont exist bc my other i5 8500 asus 300 series board shows 15.8gb with default intel gfx enabled. Any thoughts or guesses?
You will never get the full amount of RAM that is advertised, similar how you don't get all 1TB of usable storage on a 1TB drive. For example I have 32GB of ram and it always shows up as 31.9 instead.
@@avrona That's not true, ram is accurate because there is no file system. About PC should show 32GB , mine does in my i5 8500 when intel gfx are disabled. You also have a buggy mobo or the setting isnt or your intel GPU is enabled somehow. Check your bios...let me repost what i said to someone else...Thanks for the reply, I'm using windows 10/11, this issue arises in both. I'm leaning towards just a cruddy biod rev. on F chips that dont have IGPUs. But not sure. I bought an i7 12700F now and MSI z690 mobo so we will see. Since the I paid almost the same with the $285 12600KF vs $318 12700F (comes with cooler too). It was a no brainer. I always but stock since it cost so much more buying a cooler, you might as well buy a more expensive CPU instead than fiddling with OCing. Just dumb. Pretty sure a bios update would fix this since my i5 8500 shows 15.9 if I enable the Intel GFX, then goes back to 16GB when it's disabled. The B660 with 12600KF doesnt have integrated GFX settings, so I'm thinking some bozo left it out in the coding and is defaulting to 128mb or something.

Can we put i9 13900k on this one and RTX 4090???? I heard this board doesn't support Intel 13th gen. Do we have to update bios?? How can we update bios without installing CPU first??
I was really disappointed with this board. Out of the box, no functional RJ46 Ethernet. A known problem, suggestions included downloading the Intel drivers for the Ethernet chipset. I had to then find a Bluetooth dongle and driver to tether to my iPhone. Even after installing the requisite drivers, no joy. After hours of struggle, I returned the MSI and purchased an ASUS Prime mono. 20 minutes later, I was up and running. MSI is dead to me.
