Interesting test. However, this motherboard has, like any other motherboard, USB 2.0 case connectors. So having only 5 usb 3 rear panel connectors shouldn't be a problem. This motherboard is great and cheap.

I was considering it aswell for an upcoming raptor lake build, and honestly, I would say a resounding yes. Worst case scenario you just return it right?
all z690 will be fine with a K-SKU CPU its just comes down to the ports/storage/ and how much performance you can get out of your CPU while overclocking. Like you would probably be able to overclock decently more on the Extreme than the Pro RS but the Pro RS will still hit those out of the box target speeds no problem.
Yep, finding a good a motherboard is difficult. I need 8 sata connectors since I can't bring over (from my X299 rig) my 8xPCIE SATA H310 card due to lack of PCIE lanes of these current CPU's. 8 SATA ports and backplate filled with USB's. Sadly Assrock is the only mfg with 8 SATA ports.
Your exactly right, I too need a motherboard with 8 Sata ports. Luckily I still have my old Z370 Formula. Now where can I get a New used Intel Core I9 9900K.
My first board was a Gigabyte. Then Asus then Another Asus. Then I bought the Auros z490 . I can't stand it. Nothing but trouble/bugs. They trying to be Asus but they NOT . But it takes time. It's like a name game trickery. Maybe I thought I was buying an Asus. (AORUS) 10 gen cpu is good . Frack 11gen. And 12th Gen not so easy to step to being w the 10 gen from my prior It's still ddr4. So going 12 gen too expensive. 10 gen will be great for years . I910900 and a 3090 will hold up for a decade for gaming at least. Can't always keep up w the latest. If I was a company and needed latest and faster then it works. But for home and gaming even creators are good to go.

Is the ASrock z690 Pro RS worth it in anyone's opinion? For $100 less it seems pretty good. Will be run with an RTX 3060 and an i7-12700k.
