My heart feels down when I see people need to try this. But I know it’s true. I just sent my gtx1080ti to a friend I play Diablo with In Macedonia. I’m in the uk. The strange thing is we have probably comparable rolls. I’m a freelance artist & he is the manager of a large casino. Yet our lives are not comparable in material terms. I think it’s down to currency or something like that. Keep up the good work 🫶🏻
It's crazy, i was going to buy a 4070 system to play this, decided to wait and actually see how it would play on launch and my damn gtx 970 lets me play at ultra/high settings at 1080p 30 fps capped. it goes above 30 ofc but i keep it at 30 to not get stutters... i could go for medium/high settings and get 60 fps but since the game doesn't really have "action" more fps is not needed, i didn't even notice. i5 4690 gtx 970 16gig 1333mhz ram (4x4) generic sata ssd
@@pxpqBut not in 60-75 FPS , for me , seeing a smooth fps is better than just graphics. I have 1060 6 GB and adjusted game for not bad graphics +60-75fps and now fun to play.(But i know if you have very bad pc , you are very happy even on low graphics 30fps)
Thanks, i think it will become the core of my channel because of that. Upcoming, more old GPU on old CPU. I cannot do every CPU/GPU combination, but it gave some kind of ideas how they fare.
My friend, you are awesome. Making the difference for the community of gamers on a budget. Based on your findings, I'll probably be able to play on my R7 1700 GTX 750 16GB and SSD. Tks very much
I'm playing at 1080p medium with no FSR on a Ryzen 3750H laptop with a GTX1650. Sometimes there's dips to 30 FPS, it's usually in the 50-60 range. I'm more than happy with that.
Lets make it simpler, you need 4 cores 8 threads, 8+gb ram, Card is Maxwell or above, 3+GB VRAM. Thats for low settings with drops in fps For High settings 60+fps you just double those numbers.
You need to get a cooling pad or check to replace the thermal paste. I'm on laptop also and it's the AMD 4800h and a 1660ti, temps are in the 70 but I do have a cooling pad.
very well put together and fairly extensive, i would have preferred act 3, that being said the most important thing for this game is having an ssd, the hdd is fine if you click the "old hdd / slow disk" option until act 3" you have to do this Every Time you play". i5 7400 gtx 1060
Thanks, very much appreciated 🙏 but did you check my other videos? I did multiple testing in Act3 and also HDD slow mode. I'll gladly test your setup but i don't have an i5-7400. But looking to get multiple 7th Gen CPUs for the future... don't forget to check my other videos of BG3.
I play in 4K 30 fps - models max, other settings mid or low. Its not the smoothest experience, but the fact I can run it in 4K with this setup is crazy. Ah and I also record videos. AMD Radeon RX 6600 - I bought used part for like 200$ AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 8GB RAM
It will be playable, but if you already have a PS5, for sure the game will be optimized for the console, it will play better than your system. If you can manage to wait for it 😁 which i wasn't.
Nice vid! What do you think about my setup though, is it quite suitable for playing? Ryzen 5 2600 GTX 1650 4gb 16GB ram Will it be smooth on medium settings? I plan on installing on SSD
Completely agree, but now it's really improving in act3, I've seen it going more smoothly, I'm yet to try again with older hardware, but it's already better.
This is a really helpful video, since my i7 4785T and GTX 970 barely clear the minimum requirements. Here I've been tearing my hair out trying to find an RX 6500+ tier GPU that isn't US$200-$300 to ensure smooth performance, and I don't even need to upgrade. And judging by ProtonDB, I probably won't have many issues. The early (lowest-end) results have to be tossed out from the comparison with later hardware if one wants rigor, tho,, because the tests switched from Vulkan to D3D11 -- these are not directly comparable, as Vulkan to D3D12 might've been.
02:00 RAM is the easiest thing to upgrade, going from 8 to 16 only costs you half as much as the game itself (or less). That the game can do well on an i5+GTX960 with 16 GB is pretty good.
It will be a good setup, the RX590 is a bit better than the Minimum Requirement of GTX970 + you have 16G memory instead of 8G. You can play in the mrdium-high settings easily.
Maybe you could try for 1080p? Also I think its worth testing in Act 3 as the game becomes much harder to run. I have an i5-2500k and 980 and had zero issues in Act 1 and 2 but Act 3 is really struggling
@@RespawnPC I had a 2500 for years and it not having hyper threads makes it useless today, I upgraded to a 2600 and was able to get 60fps in rdr2 pretty much everywhere
Interesting idea. I thought about it also, but even if I have a lot of hardware, I'm lacking on more recent one. Most of my parts is Intel gen 4th and lower with only one gen6th. Completely lacking AMD side of things, for GPU I have GTX 1030 3g and lower and again lacking in AMD side, will be hard to do 1080p video unless it's like Sonic Superstar which requires a potato to run at 1080p 😂. I'm slowly gearing up with more recent hardware and missing the AMD one, so probably in the future.
Thanks man, really helpful! I am considering buying, I only have a AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics card with 2gb ram, but my iMac has 32 GB ram and an i5 core. I don`t have the competence to judge if I`ll be fine based on this video, unfortunately...
Okay I haven't bought a laptop in more than a decade. I'm totally lost with the graphic cards and specs......I don't know the market. But I've established BG3 is my gaming minimum......I want to play that game and older games than BG3 (meaning, more recent games past this point I'm ok with not being able to play). What is the cheapest laptop you recoomend to do this, please? It's sooo hard knowing what to do without understanding the market and being tech saavy. Thank you!
I haven't shop for a laptop in 5 years lol but I can tell you, my current laptop is a Lenovo Legion, took the base model at the time. Mean a AMD 4800H -16g of memory and a GTX 1660ti. I think you can find those for around 500-600$ usd, used or maybe new if still sold. I got about 45 FPS in act3 at high settings at 1080p. So I think it's a good base spec. You can check other brands with similar specs also. Like Acer or HP, I think MSI also has nice price entry level laptops.
@@RespawnPC With Nvidia, the number at the end (1660) is a good indicator of how fast they are right? If it's above that, it means it's even better? But what about RTX vx GTX? Thank you.
You asked me for the lower end. So gtx1660 will be cheaper, but depends on your budget also, if you can afford the RTX series in a laptop, definitely go for it.
Unfortunately, I play on GTX 1050ti + i5-8300h and I played 83h in 1 and 2 act in 1600x900 and low graphics without problems, stable 30-50FPS but when I came to act 3....... even in window, 4:3, 1280x768 I have still like 5-15 FPS :c. I'm broken now it's unplayable, I don't know what to do bcs I play on laptop and I can't exchange nothing.... Propably I must wait for optimalization patch or downlad some reducing graphics mods, I don't have more ideas. Do u have any solutions? Pls help
Patch 2 should bring performance on the table, if you do a quick Google search, that's what's coming. The same is going on for me. And Larian said the latch 2 is around the corner. I expect around the release on the ps5.
I really do hope so, because otherwise, even their minimum requirements can't sustain that unplayablility in act3. I was going to make a video about it, but I want to wait after that "patch #2" to not make my video irrelevant after a week or 2.
What a great video! Congratulations. And yeah, unfortunately I'll have to play on GeForce now or wait till I buy a better gpu. It's unplayable on the Gtx 950
This is actually a very stable and optimised game, expected running 30-45 frames on low with Acer Aspire 7 (8gb ram version) but nope, 720p upscaled, medium settings and stable 60 fps at least for first 2 hours, then heat bottlenecks procesor so laptop needs a 10 minute break.
I'd be interested to see these specifications ran in the cities in act 3, I don't honestly think any of these spec configs would handle it well, if at all.
Haha, AMD Phenom II/Athlon II with AM3 socket can rock on this game, because has popcnt instructions unlike intel core 2 quad on 775 socket 😄 I'm so happy about this. And in addition FSR 2.2. Thanks, it's time to overclocking!
@@RespawnPC Lmao I try it! I try it and it's near 30-45 fps at medium settings on overclocked Athlon II X4 610e + GTX 1650 on oldest AM2 mainboard with DDR2-800 memory 8Gb Ram, and it's just only 3040 mgz frequency because of mainboard limit ahaha 😂 So you can get even more! People with their new modern "gaming" laptops of 2022 year on i3-1115G4 with super 11th Gen Intel(R) graphics have a big problems with 15 fps, and must buy new again, but we still can! 🤣I bought my used card for less than 100$ in Ukraine. This is so lmao
Can a i5-1145G7, Intel(r) Iris(r) Xe, 16gb ram run baldurs gate even on the lowest settings. Ive only played on console so far so I dont know much about pc specs
Unfortunately I have no idea, I don't own any laptop with Iris Ce graphics. So I don't know and can't even estimate how it will fare in any game, and I cannot test either, I don't have any. Sorry 😔
BG 3 vids got me finally playing Divinity Original Sin 2, even though ive owned it since Feb 2018. It runs perfectly on Ultra settings 1680x1050 with my GTX 750ti and i3 4370. So i dont know, i thinkni shpuld be xine if i buy BG3 but if i have to turn everything all the down ill be a little annoyed. I'll at least wait till it goes on sale and juat play DOS2 for now
At 1080p medium, lock fps at 40 ish, play with some settings to lower if not stable enough, or lock the fps at 30 otherwise. You can also drop the resolution to 720p. Try without having fps lock and see if you have too much stutter, otherwise i recommend to lock your fps for more stability.
I'd recommend locking the game to 30fps, I played a few top-down turn-based crpg titles before and 30fps does feel very smooth in these types of games compared to First Person Shooters or standard RPG games for example, and at least you won't get that many frame drops with the fps lock. Also, I have the exact same rig as you, so please do report how it runs in case you get the game!
I upgraded my ram from 8 to 16 as i had an unoccupied slot, and the performance sky rocketed, as it doesnt stutter anymore, so i can get a constant framerate. So even though 8gb may be playable, this is the first game that made me get more ram in the last 5 years of gaming on this setup.
Definetly not a good place to do testing. Wait until you get to Act 3... it will easily almost double the use of CPU in there. So 90% usage in the Druid Grove is a very bad sign.
I'm thinking about buying the game, but I'm unsure about my laptop running it. It has Intel I5 13540H, RTX 2050, 8gb DDR5, 512gb SDD. Considering 720p, do you think I can run the game at a stable rate of 60fps in medium/high quality?
Run the game, yes, stable FPS, yes, 60 FPS...in act 1 and probably 2 you'll probably be close to 60 FPS, act3...still playable, but not at 60. You have a bottleneck, your 8g of memory.
The issue is across all act. 1 and 2 yes, even at medium and maybe some high. Act3 at medium, I'll say in the 40fps, at 720p... I'll say mid40. Act3 is really heavy, and you only have 8g memory
THANK YOU so much! Do you think I can get it to run okay with an Intel Core i5-10400F, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, and 16GB RAM? Im a PC newb and bought this system a few years ago so not sure it'll be any use but this game looks incredible! :))
Totally playable, I'm playing on a Ryzen 7 4800H, your CPU is about 15% better speed, i also have 16G memory and a GTX 1660ti. I'm in act 3 and still playing smoothly. Some dip in FPS here and there, but nothing to break the game or make it unpleasant.
Do you think it would be playable on a gtx 780ti? Like 1080p with medium settings? Is the performance going to drop a lot when you will enter the big city?
You can't, latest driver for the GTX 780ti is 474.44, the game won't even launch, need driver 516.59 minimum. The only GTX 700 series that have drivers update are the GTX 750ti, GTX 750 and GTX 745 which isn't that great to play the game.
@@RespawnPC I am sorry to bother you again, but do you think I'll be able to run the game on the laptop's hard disk? Its SSD card only has 117 Gb and most of it is occupied by my OS. Thank you in advance!
Hmmm...are you playing 1080p? If yes, hopefully at medium/low. Also check if there's any app running in the background. If it's a pre-built like HP, Acer, Dell, etc make sure to remove the pre-installed bloatwares.
Yes definitely, if you watch my previous video, I've tested the proposed minimum requirement which is highly similar to your setup. But you have 16g which is better and the GPU is a little lower than the GTX 970. So again yes, without issues.
I'm using a Lenovo Legion laptop with a GTX 1660ti all at high settings. (Some fps drop when you reach act3) Highly playable, laptop is now discontinued but the new model with rtx3050 if still available will be good. Unless you search for used.
@@RespawnPC I have a lenovo too but it's an older model from a few years ago. I can only play on 720p and low settings though I keep textures on high. But there are frame rate drops and act III is nearly unplayable though it's better now after the patches.
Oh, you can maybe drop the texture to medium when you're walking around outside in act3, put it higher when you go in a dungeon or building. I know it's a bit of a hassle, but it works. May I ask what the specs of your laptop are?
Oh, Radeon graphics like iGPU? Integrated graphics. No wonder you struggle in Act3. Make sure you have the Radeon graphic driver from AMD website instead of the original one that comes with the laptop. It should help a lot if you didn't. Just type AMD driver in Google and choose the auto detect, follow instructions. Won't do any harm, if you already have the driver's it might update it, if you don't then that's a big upgrade.
I did just get a ps5 (not for baldur's gate 3) and am not sure what to get BG3 on. It doesn't seem like a console game but the "can I run it?" said I meet the minimum but not the recommended requirements so I wasn't sure how well it'd play. I have 8GB of Ram and a Nvidia GTX 1650. AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor. So it sounds like it should run just fine on my PC?
It should run fine. But also how good will it be optimized for PS5. I don't know, not out yet. And yes, not sure I'll play with a controller. Moving the map with a mouse seems more intuitive.
I have some doubts about it. Let me try and come back to you. I do have multiple requests for different setups. I'll test with what I have in inventory, and surely I do have something with UHD620, maybe I'll do another video of Real Minimum Requirement or just a video of Viewers PC Specs.
@@RespawnPC It is not so old: Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6650 XT Gaming OC 8G, 8192 MB GDDR6 But I guess, they want me to use the newest drivers, but as long I have no problems -- and I did not have any in the beginning and I have none now -- I just don't want to update. I have other things to do instead of updating drivers all the time. What I wanted to say: This popup -- at least in my case -- was just a warning. I closed it and I am ignoring it. The game runs after closing the popup as it ran before. It comes up every time I start, and I ignore it every time.
I have a 980ti, 16GB of ram, and an i7-4790K. I've been playing it on PS5 on quality mode, and that's been good enough, but I want to pick it up up on pc at some point bc I know kb/m will be much better. I'm curious how my rig will stand up with the 4790K.
Ouch, i know this GPU is 3 years younger than the minimum requirement, but, unfortunately I have to tell you no it won't. The GTX 950, which is almost 190% more powerful than the MX130. I might be mistaken, i cannot test that card and i was actually able to play it on integrated graphics Intel UHD630. The mx130 is about 70% better than the uhd630, but 70% of 12fps isn't really much more, if you calculate it that way. The driver is still updated from Nvidia, the game will launch, but will it be enjoyable...not really, unless you really want to play regardless lol. So the short answer is no, sorry.
I have the same specs, and I got it to run. You have to close down everything you do not absolutely need and that may use RAM. For that, also clear your autostart. An SSD with a lot of space also helps (got a Seagate 2 TB external which is twice as fast as my internal 512 GB SSD). Turn off Steam Overlay and all that. Start the game with the dx11.exe file rather than via the Steam client (should be similar for GOG). Save often, because to get the achievements you will have to start Steam manually. Doesn't slow down the game that much, but it runs better when you start it right after booting your computer without anything else running. If you want to take a screenshot or even do a recording, you will experience lag. It is doable, but not recommended during combat. I am playing on medium quality, and as long as nothing else is running, it is playable. At least for now. I am not far into the game yet, but I hope I will remain playable for some time.
@@RespawnPC I am progressing so slow that a lot can happen until then. I have to explore everything, re-read and re-watch some dialogs and so on. Just thought I share my experience here.
That's very appreciated. Since I don't have every possible hardware on hand to test, it's nice to have the community answering some hardware information and experience. Thanks again 👍
So, I have 1050ti, i5 4690k and 16gb RAM 1600mhz, I'm contemplating on buying the game but I'm not sure if it will run 1080p, I don't care how it looks so FSR of course will be on
It will run, but 1080p all at low, maybe not need FSR. But when you reach act3 you are highly going to need FSR, hopefully FSR 2 or higher will be implemented soon. I just redo the test with a GTX960 and 970 with the i5-4690 in act 3, and it runs surprisingly smoothly. Will be the next video which i schedule for next week.
My configs: rx 570 4gb + ryzen 5 1600 af + 16 ram... I was playing smoothly in full HD on low at 30 fps, however, the moment I arrived in the city, it became impossible to play due to a lot of stutter. Unfortunately I stopped playing, it was ruining the experience.😔
so you have 8gb or 16gb? In any case, your laptop is similar to my laptop specs, AMD r7 4800h, 16gb and a GTX 1660ti, I'm currently playing at 1080P at high, with your specs, also 1080p at high settings.
fun video, but little bit too chaotic, changing three components "at once" i just wish we stayed @16gb and see what cpu+gpu first run stable and then downgrade RAM
guys sorry but im really bad at pc making and understanding. I have a ryzen 5 and 1050 ti nvdia. can i run it ? sorry for really not understanding the video i juat want to be sure
I don't know if you will see this comment but do you think I can run BG3 smoothly with these equipment ? I want to be sure at 100% before spending 60€ on this game lmao NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core processor 15,92GB of RAM
Yes you definitely can run the game. Act 1 & 2 a mix of medium and high, when you reach act3 you might need to tweak the settings in medium and low. While playing at 1080p.
You're pretty much all set, CPU a bit old, but it shouldn't be that much of a bother. Maybe act3 in the city you may see some drops in FPS because it's hard on the CPU, but nothing to stop you playing.
I’m new to pc specs so I’m unsure what numbers are good/bad but I was wondering if this setup would run it smooth: Intel® Core™ i7 13700F NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti - 12GB
I recently had to downgrade to a $200 Wal-Mart computer since my old computer started crapping out so it's nice to see that this PC can actually run BG3, albeit, on super low settings. It's got a GT 1030 with an Intel Core i5 3470 for CPU.. so yeah, not great for a PC.
@@RespawnPC Yeah, my partner and I both got the same PC since $400 was all we could spare and our old PCs died (My old PC was 14-16 years old, and his was 10 years old)
Need some help, tempted to buy the game but i need 30fps Got an I5 4460 Gtx 960 2gb vram 16gb Ram Is it possible? Im guessing i need to graphics card upgrade to 4gb vram
Actually you're good to go, I was getting good results with a GTX 950 2gb with an 1st Gen Intel and 8gb memory. You'll probably have to lock your FPS to 30 for smooth and stable gameplay, but you should be able to play.
I have i5 4590, GTX 1070 and 16GB RAM and feels kinda bad I think because of the CPU. Haven't tried to cap my framerate at 30, but when playing multiplayer it was horrible like almost unplayable at certain points. Single player is playable but not really great.
Those specs should allow you to play really smoothly...let's try to figure out what is going on. First, which resolution are you playing? How many monitors have you connected to your card? Did you check your temps? Maybe there's heat bottlenecks making you throttle the performance. How many apps/bloatwares are running in the background? Maybe time for a fresh Windows install. Are your drivers and Windows up to date? It can be a lot of things, but for those specs, you shouldn't have trouble like you have.
Ok so I have a bit of a weird setup. I usually use Linux but dual boot into Windows for games like this. So the Windows install should be really fresh as it is on its own partition and I barely touch it. I have made sure to keep all my drivers up to date. I have an ultrawide 2560:1080 display, but because I had problems I tried running the game at 1920:1080 as well. Tried lowering the overall rendering quality. In single player the video settings don't seem to impact the performance that much. CPU seems to be capped out at 100%, but GPU is maybe at like 80% if I put 1080p, most things high and ultra quality upscaling. It seems to run at 60fps mostly, but with occasional very noticeable dips. When I look at GPU utilization graphs, it didn't spike in those moments, so I'm pretty sure it's all because of the CPU. It is playable though, and I probably wouldn't really notice big dips if I were to lock it to 30-50fps. However, I did a multiplayer session today and it was absolutely horrible. Maybe the multiplayer aspect became too much or maybe the added Discord voice call. I'm pretty sure it's the CPU, so I guess I finally bit the bullet and decided to upgrade it to something from this decade.@@RespawnPC
It seems the added Discord adds to your stutter and fps dips, since you were already CPU pegged at 100% before discord. The minimum specs are really with having nothing running in the background.
Hey, I don’t have a confident understanding of specs but I have a Surface Book 2, Windows 11. 16 GB ram, Intel Core i7 8650k, Intel UHD graphics 620, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050, 64-bit operating system and a x64-based processor. Do you think it would run?
System requirements are always so arbitrary. But I'm sure that devs are leaving lots of forgiveness for people who have suboptimal conditions of their OS and PC. I.E 1066 high latency DDR3, HDD, lots of background apps, and so on.
Yes, and now you even have FSR 2.2 available, you can put it at ultra quality FSR2.2 you'll be able to play at 1080p low/medium. When you reach act3, you might need to down the resolution to 720p.
Can it still work?? Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit. Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) Memory: 6\7 GB RAM. Graphics: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics Direct X: Version 12. Storage: 452 GB disponivel (at the moment)
I know, but it's not a requirement to be able to play. And not everyone can afford even the most recent budget friendly GPU. I have viewer who still playing on a i5-2400 or similar and a GTX 750 or AMD variants. I consider first person shooters actually need 60fps because it's normally high pace gaming
I don't know for Vega card sorry. But there's this website I use that gives you a little idea www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri keep in mind it's not a perfect check up. And based off the studio minimum requirement.
Hi! Do you think the game could run with intel core i5 1035g1? It's what I have on my laptop, and this is the first time ever I'm checking this thoroughly to play games. I'm planning to get an external SSD (as my laptop doesn't have enough storage, and I'm planning to get other games too)
ruclips.net/user/shorts4mFL_-WgsgE?feature=share Here, I made a short YT video with Intel UHD, and I have bad news for you unfortunately, UHD launched the game, but playing is horrible.
It will run quite decently, the RTX 2050 mobile is about 20%-30% better than the proposed minimum requirement GTX 970. But run GDDR6 compared to the GDDR5 of the GTX. My guess will be around the 55-66FPS on medium-high. You can lock the FPS also if you want to make the game more stable.
Good question. Here I've tried the Intel integrated GPU. ruclips.net/user/shorts4mFL_-WgsgE?feature=share But I didn't try any AMD APU. A video I'm willing to make to see by myself.
I have a i5 10500t . Rx 580 and 32gb ram . I get like 60-80 fps on 1080p ultra settings . But in act 3 I’m getting like 10-20 fps and the fps stays at 10-20 even when I lower it
Oooooo. I have some doubts, the GTX 950 was already limited in performance, now the 940mx it's a mobile GPU lower than the 950 desktop. Even if the driver is still kept up to date and could launch the game. It's really underpowered. I'll say you cannot, you can try, but I have high doubts. If you already intend to get a new PC in future and just want to test your laptop.
I just purchased a new laptop (ASUS K3605VC-N1059W, Intel Core i7-13700H, 16 GB DDR4, 512 GB SSD,Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050) for schoolwork but wanted to take a little advantage of it to also get myself Baldurs gate, I have never installed a huge game before and am worried it won't run or it will slow down my laptop completely because of it's size, Can a laptop slow down if I install Baldurs Gate, I still have to use adobe programs for school, I have no knowledge of tech so it would be awesome it you could help me out :)
You have plenty of space on it to install BG3 and your Adobe suite. It won't slow down your laptop as long as you don't dual monitor and have BG3 and Adobe running at the same time.
Thank you for your commitment! It will definitely be very useful for a lot of people
I hope so!
It definitely did

My friend, you are awesome. Making the difference for the community of gamers on a budget. Based on your findings, I'll probably be able to play on my R7 1700 GTX 750 16GB and SSD. Tks very much

Hello friend, came back to tell you I've traded the GTX 750 for a RX 580 and been playing BG3 on excellent conditions.
I'm playing at 1080p medium with no FSR on a Ryzen 3750H laptop with a GTX1650. Sometimes there's dips to 30 FPS, it's usually in the 50-60 range. I'm more than happy with that.
Sounds great, you'll get more dips further you get in game. Like act3, but still playable.
Wait, yes! Thanks for the info. My laptop is the similar setup
I didn't think I could get the game and be happy with how it'd look on my system until I saw this! Thank you so much for your time and dedication!
You're very welcome. Can you tell me what the specs of your PC are for reference? Did you get the game?
Lets make it simpler, you need 4 cores 8 threads, 8+gb ram, Card is Maxwell or above, 3+GB VRAM. Thats for low settings with drops in fps
For High settings 60+fps you just double those numbers.
That is a nice resume of it yes lol
I know, I'm gonna hope Larian does optimization of act3. Hopefully in any upcoming patches.
Thank u appreciate your videos
Got an i5 6300

is it running well on 8gb ram?
Will try it and upload it this week. If he didn't try it yet.
As someone who requires a completely stable FPS or else I get a headache I just want to thank you for all your hard work!
Thank you very much. I'm preparing another test with the same or similar hardware for act3 which is renowned for being harder on the FPS.
Now, that is a test! Congrats for the video!
Thanks
I have laptop with AMD 4800h and RTX 2060 and it’s runs nice… but CPU temps +90 celcius on mid/low settings
AMD Radeon RX 6600 - I bought used part for like 200$
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

That's really good. Nicely! I will consider adding another 8gb for a total of 16gb, that will smoothen your experience.
I cant wait to play BG3 , considering now to buy it for ps5 since im not prety sure that game is playable on my i3 7100 + 16gb ram + RX 570....
It will be playable, but if you already have a PS5, for sure the game will be optimized for the console, it will play better than your system. If you can manage to wait for it 😁 which i wasn't.
Nice vid! What do you think about my setup though, is it quite suitable for playing?
Ryzen 5 2600

Will it be smooth on medium settings? I plan on installing on SSD
You guessed it right, medium on 1080p should be smooth.
This is super helpful! Thanks for taking the time and sharing your insight.
Glad it was helpful!
the real test is act 3 when the map is constantly filled with 20+ NPCs, performance check in act 1 doesn't mean much.
Happy to hear and help
02:00 RAM is the easiest thing to upgrade, going from 8 to 16 only costs you half as much as the game itself (or less). That the game can do well on an i5+GTX960 with 16 GB is pretty good.
It is indeed impressive
A really big thank you, sir!
You're welcome 😁
Ryzen 5 3600
Nitro+ RX 590

That's what I'm running. How should that fare?
It will be a good setup, the RX590 is a bit better than the Minimum Requirement of GTX970 + you have 16G memory instead of 8G. You can play in the mrdium-high settings easily.
Maybe you could try for 1080p? Also I think its worth testing in Act 3 as the game becomes much harder to run. I have an i5-2500k and 980 and had zero issues in Act 1 and 2 but Act 3 is really struggling
Definitely some more test coming when reach act 3
BUY A 2600 THEY ARE LIKE 30 BUCKS AND YOULL GET DOUBLE THE FPS IN MOST GAMES AND THROW THAT 2500K IN THE TRASH

i am amazed at the amount of hardware that you have, hope you do a second part to find perfect 1080

@@RespawnPC I hope so, but you think it will be so big optimalization? It's not small drops, it's rly unplayable. Idk if that will help
I really do hope so, because otherwise, even their minimum requirements can't sustain that unplayablility in act3. I was going to make a video about it, but I want to wait after that "patch #2" to not make my video irrelevant after a week or 2.
@@RespawnPC That's fact. Thanks, you give me hope. I'm waiting for your video too :D

What a great video! Congratulations.
And yeah, unfortunately I'll have to play on GeForce now or wait till I buy a better gpu.
It's unplayable on the Gtx 950
And get worse further you go in game. They optimize it with the last patch, but not to the point of being at ease with low budget cards.
It's time to shop for a laptop cooling pad, I got myself one, it helped a lot
I'd be interested to see these specifications ran in the cities in act 3, I don't honestly think any of these spec configs would handle it well, if at all.
It is coming, I've been asked by multiple viewers to do the same test in act3, and it is coming.
Haha, AMD Phenom II/Athlon II with AM3 socket can rock on this game, because has popcnt instructions unlike intel core 2 quad on 775 socket 😄 I'm so happy about this. And in addition FSR 2.2. Thanks, it's time to overclocking!
Hahahahah. Maybe i should do a BG3 video with an overclock AM3 CPU 😆

Nice video!
Got an i5 7300

Do you think I can play on medium settings without fps drop?
Thanks for the heads up and thanks to help the communities, sharing your experience with those specs, I'm sure you help out a lot of ppl.
Really nice to know, thanks for the update
Definetly not a good place to do testing. Wait until you get to Act 3... it will easily almost double the use of CPU in there. So 90% usage in the Druid Grove is a very bad sign.
Good to know, when I reach BG I'll re-run my test
I'm thinking about buying the game, but I'm unsure about my laptop running it. It has Intel I5 13540H, RTX 2050, 8gb DDR5, 512gb SDD. Considering 720p, do you think I can run the game at a stable rate of 60fps in medium/high quality?
Run the game, yes, stable FPS, yes, 60 FPS...in act 1 and probably 2 you'll probably be close to 60 FPS, act3...still playable, but not at 60. You have a bottleneck, your 8g of memory.
At minimum quality, can I get an average of 60fps across all acts?
The issue is across all act. 1 and 2 yes, even at medium and maybe some high. Act3 at medium, I'll say in the 40fps, at 720p... I'll say mid40. Act3 is really heavy, and you only have 8g memory
I have i5 11th gen, 12 gb ram, and a geforce mx350. Can my laptop handle it ?
Yes it can, but reaching act3 it might struggle a bit. You might need to readjust GPU settings in act3. But totally playable.
I ran the game on AMD R9 380x 4Gb with custom drivers (Amernime Zone) and got around 30 FPS in 1080p with Medium-Low settings.
That's nice, thanks for the info

Thanks and you're very welcome
Do you think it would be playable on a gtx 780ti? Like 1080p with medium settings? Is the performance going to drop a lot when you will enter the big city?
You can't, latest driver for the GTX 780ti is 474.44, the game won't even launch, need driver 516.59 minimum. The only GTX 700 series that have drivers update are the GTX 750ti, GTX 750 and GTX 745 which isn't that great to play the game.

Unfortunately the mx150 is quite a weak card. I didn't try it because I don't have one, but I highly doubt it 😔 sorry
do you think my i5-4590 + gtx9604gb 16G could run this?
Yes definitely, if you watch my previous video, I've tested the proposed minimum requirement which is highly similar to your setup. But you have 16g which is better and the GPU is a little lower than the GTX 970. So again yes, without issues.
What's a good budget laptop to be able to have 60fps consistently and smoothly and play on med-high graphics?
@@RespawnPC It's a Lenovo Ideapad 3. Radeon graphics, Ryzen 5000 series.

Which card are you using? Just curious 🧐
@@RespawnPC It is not so old:

What I wanted to say: This popup -- at least in my case -- was just a warning. I closed it and I am ignoring it. The game runs after closing the popup as it ran before. It comes up every time I start, and I ignore it every time.

I have a 980ti, 16GB of ram, and an i7-4790K. I've been playing it on PS5 on quality mode, and that's been good enough, but I want to pick it up up on pc at some point bc I know kb/m will be much better. I'm curious how my rig will stand up with the 4790K.
It will be enough and enjoyable at 1080p high
my spec is:
i7-7500
ram 8gb
geforce MX130
any chance of running the game?
WOW, thanks for the update on those specs. keep in mind, when you reach high density area or Act3, that's where the real struggle is.
@@RespawnPC I am progressing so slow that a lot can happen until then. I have to explore everything, re-read and re-watch some dialogs and so on. Just thought I share my experience here.

Hiii, did you think that a I5 9th, a gtx 1050ti, 8gb ram and in hd will run?
If your 1050ti is 2gb, only at 720p, if it's the 4gb then yes 1080p, but all in HD... probably some settings at medium.
guys sorry but im really bad at pc making and understanding. I have a ryzen 5 and 1050 ti nvdia. can i run it ? sorry for really not understanding the video i juat want to be sure
Yes it would run
@RespawnPC thank you very much you are a life saver!!!
Hahahaha, you're welcome 🤗
I don't know if you will see this comment but do you think I can run BG3 smoothly with these equipment ? I want to be sure at 100% before spending 60€ on this game lmao
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core processor
15,92GB of RAM
Yes you definitely can run the game. Act 1 & 2 a mix of medium and high, when you reach act3 you might need to tweak the settings in medium and low. While playing at 1080p.
@@RespawnPC OMG thank you so much, you're a legend 🙏🏻
You're very welcome 🤗😁
so what r u saying that I can play baldurs gate 3 with i5 9300h and gtx1050 3gb mobile 8gig of system ram at 720p low between 20-30 fps?
Yes, I recommend upgrading your Ram but yes. DDR 4 is now quite cheaper.
Just upgraded PC from GTX960 to RTX2060
Now got: 4690K, RTX2060, 16 GB RAM, SSD
Should improve something to get high(ultra) set on 1080p?
You're pretty much all set, CPU a bit old, but it shouldn't be that much of a bother. Maybe act3 in the city you may see some drops in FPS because it's hard on the CPU, but nothing to stop you playing.
I’m new to pc specs so I’m unsure what numbers are good/bad
but I was wondering if this setup would run it smooth:
Intel® Core™ i7 13700F
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ti - 12GB
That will run super smoothly
@@RespawnPC ok sweet yay thank you for reply!
You're welcome 🤗
@@RespawnPC back again! Would an i5 13500 and a Rtx 4070 12gb run smooth?
Will run super duper smooth 💪
I am still installing it
I have 1050 2GB 12 GB ram I3 4th gen,hopefully it works well on low.
Tell us how it plays, i3 4th Gen is only 2 cores.
@@RespawnPC I'll sub and comeback and tell you if it really works, but I think it should do okay.
Hahahaha, thanks, I can't wait, i didn't test any 2 cores CPU.
@@RespawnPC I realized and it didn't even perform all that badly that's why I am very optimistic about this.
I'll be waiting for your verdict on it then
Hello. What settings should i use?
Laptop i7 9th Gen
GTX 1650 (4GB)
32 GB RAM
SSD
Definitely at high at 1080p
I recently had to downgrade to a $200 Wal-Mart computer since my old computer started crapping out so it's nice to see that this PC can actually run BG3, albeit, on super low settings. It's got a GT 1030 with an Intel Core i5 3470 for CPU.. so yeah, not great for a PC.
Oh WOW, $200 USD?
@@RespawnPC Yeah, my partner and I both got the same PC since $400 was all we could spare and our old PCs died (My old PC was 14-16 years old, and his was 10 years old)
That's a nice deal.
Yeah, it's even got 16GB and two slots still free for the taking @@RespawnPC
Even better
How will it play if at all on ""NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB" "Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz"
ruclips.net/user/shortsigeCDo6IyQA?feature=share
Video I made with the GTX1060 3G with even lower CPU.. you can
16 gb RAM
Quadro M1000M 2 gb VRAM
i7-6820HQ 2.7 GHz (4-x cores)
will work?
Yes it will, my guess will 720p medium-high or maybe 1080p low-medium settings
Need some help, tempted to buy the game but i need 30fps
Got an I5 4460
Gtx 960 2gb vram
16gb Ram
Is it possible?
I want to try this game sooo bad... Do you think it will run ok with i5 10300, gtx 1650, 4 vram?
Yes, and with settings on medium-low, and 1080p, if I get my hands on a GTX1650 I'll do a shorts video and post it.
It will, but don't expect to be at 1080p high, at least in act3. But it will run .
System requirements are always so arbitrary.
But I'm sure that devs are leaving lots of forgiveness for people who have suboptimal conditions of their OS and PC.
I.E 1066 high latency DDR3, HDD, lots of background apps, and so on.
That's true. At least I hope lol. I should do a test with a PC clogged with apps in the background. See how bad it can get.
Will my 1660Ti 16GB ram, intel core i79700k run this? Elden ring is alittle choppy
I'm running a 1660ti and 16g of Ram, CPU similar. Run perfectly at 1080p high.
Is it playable at all with no external gpu and just the intel i5-6500 w/ HD 530 integrated gpu??
I made a video about the UHD 630 ruclips.net/user/shorts4mFL_-WgsgE?feature=share
It's not great
I meet every system requirement of baldurs gate 3,other then 4gb vram (I only have 3 gb vram) Does anybody know if it will run smooth still?
What's the card? If it's like the GTX 780 3gb the driver isn't supported.
Also want to know this!
@@RespawnPC Its gtx 1060 3gb
I have a #short video coming tonight with a GTX 1060 3gb
@@RespawnPC no way! That's what I've got! Cheers mate
So, sorry to ask, the game is playable on my "i5 3470 - GTX 1050 - 8G" if i understand correctly ? (Not at max graphics of course ?)
Yes, and now you even have FSR 2.2 available, you can put it at ultra quality FSR2.2 you'll be able to play at 1080p low/medium. When you reach act3, you might need to down the resolution to 720p.
Can it still work??
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit.
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM)
Memory: 6\7 GB RAM.
Graphics: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
Direct X: Version 12.
Storage: 452 GB disponivel (at the moment)
Unfortunately i cannot answer. I don't have an Iris Xe graphics on hand and never tried them. I don't know how it will fare, sorry 😐
anything under 60fps is an etcha-sketch
I know, but it's not a requirement to be able to play. And not everyone can afford even the most recent budget friendly GPU. I have viewer who still playing on a i5-2400 or similar and a GTX 750 or AMD variants. I consider first person shooters actually need 60fps because it's normally high pace gaming
So I should be okay with i5-4590 16GB and GTX 1050 4GB? 720p medium or 1080p low?
That's about right
Noob question: Are these with stock settings or has any overclocking been added to these cpu/gpus?
Stock, test was done like if a dad bought a second hand PC or office PC with a GPU and gave it to his 13y. Not everyone knows how to overclock
How would the game run with vega 10 and ryzen 7 3700U? Is there a website to say
I don't know for Vega card sorry. But there's this website I use that gives you a little idea www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri keep in mind it's not a perfect check up. And based off the studio minimum requirement.
I'm playing it on a geforce 650 gtx right now.
Hahahaha nice, it might be playable right now, but when you reach act 3 you're going to struggle quite a bit.
Hi! Do you think the game could run with intel core i5 1035g1? It's what I have on my laptop, and this is the first time ever I'm checking this thoroughly to play games. I'm planning to get an external SSD (as my laptop doesn't have enough storage, and I'm planning to get other games too)
What is your GPU?
@@RespawnPC it should be "inter(R) UHD Graphics" if I've checked correctly
ruclips.net/user/shorts4mFL_-WgsgE?feature=share
Here, I made a short YT video with Intel UHD, and I have bad news for you unfortunately, UHD launched the game, but playing is horrible.
@@RespawnPC damn :( that's a bummer
I know, sorry for the bad news 😔
Do you think it would work with intel Core i5 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M?
It will, you'll probably have to settle at 720p low, maybe some medium
How does this run on the i5-11400H and RTX 2050 with 16GB ram?
It will run quite decently, the RTX 2050 mobile is about 20%-30% better than the proposed minimum requirement GTX 970. But run GDDR6 compared to the GDDR5 of the GTX. My guess will be around the 55-66FPS on medium-high. You can lock the FPS also if you want to make the game more stable.
@@RespawnPC thank you for the reply!
You're welcome :D
What software is used to return the specs and values in the upper-left corner?
MSI afterburner
can you run this game without gpu?
Good question. Here I've tried the Intel integrated GPU. ruclips.net/user/shorts4mFL_-WgsgE?feature=share
But I didn't try any AMD APU. A video I'm willing to make to see by myself.
I have a i5 10500t . Rx 580 and 32gb ram . I get like 60-80 fps on 1080p ultra settings . But in act 3 I’m getting like 10-20 fps and the fps stays at 10-20 even when I lower it
Did you try enabling FSR 2?
what about g4560 and 1050ti combination
That's quite on the low end, specifically for the CPU, the game is quite demanding for the CPU in act3. You should check at least to upgrade it.
Hey there, is my spec enough to play this game?
GPU = 940MX (2GB)
RAM = 8GB
CPU = i5-8250U
@@RespawnPC Alright man, thanks for answering my question!
You're welcome
So could I run this intel core i7 12 gbram gtx 970
Yes, definitely.
@@RespawnPC thank you so much this is super reassuring !!
