@@fdisciple7634 I haven't played and I don't know exactly what you're referring to, but that doesn't sound like a bug at all, if it's just "no saving in combat" and "autosave isn't after every event". It adds to the challenge of the game. Many games have spent decades like that before modern age gaming pampered players more. if you want an easy experience, play on easy mode. Debatably they should add extra save functionality for easy mode, but you'd probably have to be pretty damn bad to mess that up.

I'm playing a single player campaign as a Half-Orc Ranger and a MP with my brother as a Dwarf War-Cleric. The racial and class differences have already made some major changes and it's already felt like a completely different game several times now. Also in my SP campaign I defeated a miniboss with some positioning and cheesing and knocked them into a cavern. I got the XP, they certainly died, but I didn't get the loot. It was early on and I figured meh, the XP was the real reward here because I was probably slightly too low of a level to be fighting that and winning anyway, so I let it go. 3 levels and hours later I found the body in the underdark, and got the loot. My characters even commented about how it looked like it fell a LONG way. That's some attention to detail, most games would just say meh it's gone, delete the NPC, but not in this game.
Can someone tell me is this some kind of MMO like world of warcraft ,or its a single role playing game like elden ring , final fantasy , conan exile etc ??
Hard for me to get a table top DnD session going. Hard to do with with a busy life. A game like this that virtualizes that experience without needing to trouble a DMaster? Perfect! Can do it with friends too? Even more impressive. The fact too that you can romance characters and approach situations in so many different ways makes this a very entertaining game!
It's hella crazy they've predicted that much outcome and choice for the purpose of a legit dnd experience. It's even considered as an immersive w/ that scale of writing.
Didnt even need a "before you buy" for this game. The fact that other AAA devs were bashing the game because of its grand design told me all i need to know. Instant buy
i found out about the game because of the other devs and immediately wanted to buy it when i saw it was dnd inspired (although i probably would have bought it regardless just to piss off those devs lol)
I've never played a game like this but from the great reviews to seeing the freedom of choice and honestly if nothing else to support a developer that believes in giving a full experience from the jump with no micro transactions is enough to purchase the game. After seeing so many devs complain about this game as an anomaly and not to be expected from other studios makes me want to support it that much more.
Couldn’t agree with everything you said more! I know absolutely nothing about D&D lore, etc, so perhaps I will have to do a little bit of brushing up, or just do some exploring at first. But the absolute insane love the devs have shown to be pouring into the game, ESPECIALLY no micro transactions, requiring online, DRM, etc makes me so much want to jump in. AAA studios that exist just to milk players can keep malding. ;)
I am in the same boat as you. Thought of giving this game a try just to see what's the fuss is about and support good folks. But as it turns out, fuss is fire. Absolutely addicted to my first ever CRPG
Same here. Just picked it up and downloading now, and know basically nothing about D&D and haven't played a game like this before. Looks really cool though and I'm always down to learn something new.
I debated whether to get this game because I never could get into Divinity Original Sin 2 (only played an hour or so). A friend told me that if I didn't like Original Sin 2, then I wouldn't like Baldur's Gate since they were almost the same type of game. I also was never into turn based games at all. But after seeing so many glowing reviews, I had a gut feeling I may like this one. And I was instantly hooked from the beginning. One thing I noticed right away and love are the viewpoint options, you could move in the traditional overhead/isometric angle or via third person perspective (outside of the combat). The turn based combat system took a little bit of a learning curve, but I've come to appreciate how it gives you time to strategize the best moves for your party to defeat the enemy. After a lifetime of third/first person real time combat action, it's a very welcome and nice change of pace. I thought the dice system for determining dialogue and action outcomes was very fair, in that you know exactly what you need to accomplish in order to succeed (get a higher roll number than what is displayed). I'm amazed so far at the sheer amount of content in this game, and I've only played about 10 hours. Each area opens up new possiblities in meeting different characters and different missions, all wonderfully acted. So now I am obsessed with this game!
Honestly after three hours it’s just wild to me how many choices there are and how impactful they can be. The amount of stuff you can just walk passed and not even look at which actually was important is so cool
@@ravenna6543 lmfao I'm a hoard goblin that picks up everything and just sells everything for gold. I'm that chaotic where idgaf about the quest or anything, all I care is gold and rare items.
I love how much the combat system rewards thinking a bit, without even entering exploit or cheese territory. Sneaking around for reconnaissance, splitting the group for flanking, using the high ground, funneling people into choke points, none of those are abusive but standard, common sense ways of approaching fights. Last time I played a CRPG (many years ago) you just had to make sure your tanks stood in the way to protect your casters.
One thing I'd recommend to newer or casual type players in a game like this; don't be shy about the easier difficulty mode. These games tend to be pretty tough and are more than happy to kick the crap out of you for not understanding everything about them. If you're new and just want to have a fun time in this massive world- turn the difficulty down and use that to learn at an easier pace. *I have learned that Multi-classing is for some silly reason turned off for default Explorer mode. There's a super easy workaround if you still want to multiclass though, just play on the CUSTOM difficulty instead- turn down everything that you think you might want toned down to a lower difficulty but turn ON multiclassing. Takes like a minute to set up. :D
I used to play DOS2 on explorer mode and I thought it was a bit easy. Which difficulty will you suggest me to play at on BG3 in order to really immerse on it? Im still downloading the game tho
You're definitely right about that; there have been 2 cases where I dropped the difficulty to easy and had a better time learning the game, one of them I'm fucking amazing at and knew like the back of my hand at one point. Anyway I'll try BG3 on normal and see how it feels; given my past experience with DOS2 it probably won't be as bad now.
As a non D&D player I am so hyped for this game. Since I was never lucky enough to gather people to play D&D this seems like the best chance you can get to play it by yourself. Definitely going to buy that when I can spare the money ^^
The game not autosaving often is actually one of the best feature for me. That way i can quicksave before engaging key moments and try different dialogue options. Best game of 2023 and one of the best RPG of all time, hands down.
If im being honest , I don't get this sentiment. Just to put this in perspective I started really gaming in 2017 and have played nothing but good to great games and even some masterpieces. Maybe its because I only play single player games but I really don't get some of the negativity I see. Feels like what I'm playing and what people are saying is two completely different worlds
Playing this game with friends is a shockingly accurate recreation of playing Tabletop Dungeons and Dragons with friends. Especially the tension of watching each players' turn, knowing every player's decision gives an important nuance to the situation makes group play really dynamic. And the satisfaction of finding where you're useful to the group. And when you're playing solo, masterminding a solution using your tools, environment, and party is so satisfying.
@@InfernalxDevil i put six hours in a session with a dnd pal of mine yesterday, its fantastic to play with friends, just be ready to either be pulled along or pull the others along--i still started a fresh singleplayer save since a lot of the story can be missed if your companions start the dialogues. you get the ability to listen in almost at will when your friend starts a convo, and you can also pick which dialogue options you want to suggest them say, but for the full experience, a single player game is better for that. the good news is you can split off and do your own thing for the most part, while my monk friend was gearing up and talking to people, my bard made some coin by performing for the locals and caught a young pickpocket before we met up again and continued along the critical path.
@@quinnmarchese6313 okay I definitely think having a solo save would be good to see everything, but it's also kinda cool it gives your party the freedom to split up if you really wanted to, just like in D&D. Hopefully we can all agree to stay grouped up as much as possible, which is generally a good idea in D&D anyways.
"Just one more minute" I cannot describe how true this statement is for me. Now this is coming from someone who had NO dungeons and dragons experience and in fact I despise most and every RPGs I've played. This one couldn't be more different. I cant stop playing it, it feels so great to be immersed in a world FINALLY. I could never see the appeal when its just a boardgame and thought it was lame AF to have an entire boardgame around thinking about almost everything and total imagination. Seeing it in a video game world completely made me fall in love with the genre and I keep saying to myself just one more minute. Had this gameshared with me from my brother who's friends bought him the game. We have almost complete opposite schedules so I can play his games and he can play mine basically whenever. He told me about it and I downloaded it (Took me 6 hours due to insanely slow internet which is also why I rarely like trying new games especially those within a new genre). Couldn't be more hooked and I wish everyone to at least try the game, even if you think D&D is lame or boring or nerdy or whatever give this game a try and then give a final opinion because if you can't get immersed into an RPG with this game then genuinely there might not be anything to get you into the genre. Genuinely people try this game I HATE medieval (Skyrim, chivalry, etc. I have always been a shooter / BR guy for a lot of my gaming years) I HATE fantasy, I HATE RPGs, anything this game has I hate but playing this game made me change my opinions on all this stuff and I am hooked on a genre and game I wouldn't have seen myself playing in a thousand years. Thank you for listening to my ted talk y'all, it just feels so good to finally be passionate towards a game considering how seemingly difficult it is to get totally enthralled in the game like when you're a kid. I haven't felt this level of passion and joy towards a game since H1Z1: KOTK (Best gaming experience ever hands down) and that game has been dead for over 5 years now. Thank you Larian for making this game and I hope this game gets all the recognition it deserves.
The characters are what impress me in BG3. Your companions are ALL very interesting, clever and have very strong personalities and even individual mannerisms. No copy/pasted animations. Even down to their minute facial experessions. I don't think I've ever had a hard time deciding who to romance, theres usually only one option I really like. I have some tough choices ahead (lets be real it's gonna be Astarion)
Not gonna lie, Astarion was one of the biggest reasons I refunded before 2 hours, I ran into him on the beach and his voice sounded like knives on a plate. The absolute worst voice I’ve ever heard. Sounded like he was in a hall and not outside.
@@KevsShwaShwaoh yikes, what were the other reasons you refunded? I once tried to refund but the cut scenes had been too long so I couldn't do it 🫠 scares me away from trying this game.

Great to see a CRPG doing this well in 2023!! The fact that Larian is continuing to make these while Obsidian is making 3d games like outer worlds makes me happy at least.
It should be the other way around, Larian doesn't have the talent to make CRPGs and Obsidian doesn't have the funds to make compeling 3D game with the depth Obsidian is known for.
@@kissrings Its a really, really, REALLY old term used to distinguish computer RPG games from their tabletops counterpart. Games evolved so much that the term is a little weird, but it stuck. Nowadays its used to describe a RPG that uses some sort of tabletop mechanics.
I never liked turn based combat in games but this game seems so deep in everything else that I'd probably forgive the combat and just play the game for what it is. Looks like you could get deeply immersed in to this game.
Right? Turn based is not my style but I’m kinda down based on all the cutscenes and lore. Just so much decision making before every attack and movement lol I feel like it could irritate me. Sometimes I just wanna spam the attack button yk
@@lilkittykitt yeah that's why I never liked turn based games. It's like why do we have to take turns to fight lol. I'm just big in to hack n slash action games like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Nier Automata, Ninja Gaiden, even God of War.
I am not a fan of turned based combat... I love the turn based based combat in BG3! It's on such a wild and fun level. You literally can do so much with charter combinations and builds to become very very OP
This game is so deep and complex, I can choose from12 spells and thirty scrolls, cantrips, weapon actions, movements, throwing stuff, and envionmental weaponry- there's so much to stop and think about, if it wasn't turn based the entire battle would be over before I made my first attack!!!!!!!!!
Don't know if this one is for me but I always appreciate a game studio that doesn't forget their main audience and water down the game that made them in order to "appeal to a wider audience". Everything doesn't need to be for me and I'm cool with that as long as people who are into it are happy.
As a guy who almost exclusively plays fast paced and hardcore shooters like cod csgo and arma this game has been amazing so far. They made turn based combat fun with a ton of cool story and shit
@umayle07 lol... what? Diablo 4 was fun but they absolutely killed all the hype for season 1 with the nerfs and the "end" of diablo is hardly enjoyable. Diablo hardly compares to this game.
I bought this game as soon as it came out in Early access. I played through the early access version by myself and with friends COUNTLESS times. When this came out as a full release I don't think I've ever been more excited for a game than this one. I am a big DnD fan as well so having a pretty true to life game version of its current 5E rule set (with certain tweaks) is really enjoyable. I have recommended this game to friends who have never played this type of game or probably normally never would. However every single one of them has continued to praise it and played nothing else except this since its been released. I would easily say this is one of the best releases of the year, and definitely one of the top CRPGs ever made. Larian did an exceptional job with this one, and the fact they actually are ACTIVELY listening to fans and their feedback to make improvements/changes shows they truly cared. If only this level of commitment and care was a standard across the industry,
Actually I think the controller support for this is one of the most impressive parts, I would never even consider playing a game like this on controller, but its a really good implementation especially if you are playing on a TV and the UI is too small for you
Honestly, I have some qualms about it. Can't find group stealth keybind on controller, and I cant find the area search that controller has but on keyboard. Otherwise, its very user friendly, and comfortable to use. Moreso than the divinity games, and magnitudes better than I expected for controller support, even with console launch coming soon.

All in all I was involved in some way with some 37 projects during the almost 4 years I worked for "Runecraft", sadly the company went bust and we all lost our jobs, I've never had a job anywhere near as great as that job was, I loved every minute of working there. They let us do extra things, I did some level design, and they listened to us mere "testers" and if we had good ideas if time allowed they'd implement them into the games we were making. The cool thing about it is Larian have been actively seeking this project for years. After Divinity 1 they approached WotC and asked if they can develop Baldurs gate 3. WotC said we like you but you dont have enough experience and games in your portfolio for us to trust you yet. Larian said okay Bet. Made Divinity 2 one of the greatest rpg games every made and then WotC approached them to make this game. Theres a lot of love in this and it shows.
@dangerfly eh, I kinda see your point, but I still think it's good that those options are there for people to have fun with. If people want to make a goofy character or go for a certain aesthetic they should be allowed to do that. A few of my friends did a one off DND campaign because I was curious about it and I wanted to play. It lasted about six hours and I honestly really enjoyed it. I thought DND was more of a really hard to understand takes months to get into sort of game and I personally never cared but after that, I got really into it the possibilities the imagination it was honestly just really cool then I heard about baldurs gate three DND taken into a video game world. and coming from a gamer I was immediately intrigued. Then I found out that the entire campaign was playable multiplayer and I got even more excited. I decided to play with one of my friends after we convinced each other that the game was worth $60 We are currently playing the entire campaign together and from my experience, not knowing a lot about DND or playing really any games like this. It’s extremely difficult in the beginning, but given four or five hours you pretty much understand the entire combat aspect and from that point forward, you’re just having a blast. The story is absolutely mind blowing. The characters are funny spicy and so full of life. I recommend this game to anyone with the money and anyone with even a little bit of interest, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
A few things that I really liked when I played the beta was that combat encounters weren't necessarily fixed to be combat encounters. In the gnoll fight at 6:37 you can use your mind flayer abilities to persuade the gnolls to attack the people in the cave. Afterwards the gnoll leader comes back to you saying they're still hungry, in which you could persuade them to attack each other. Once the other gnolls die, you can persuade the gnoll leader to canabilize itself for food. An entire fight avoided thanks to 1 spell, Crown of Madness, and the mind flayer leech.
Don't usually comment on your channel, but after watching this video, I did another thing I've never done. So thank you for that! And keep up the good work!
As someone who finished the BG1 and 2 back in the day, this looks awesome. My main worry is that I don't have enough time to meaningfully play it, as it doesn't seem like a very casual game and I have less time then I used
Play pillars of eternity 1 & 2, divinity original sin 1 & 2, Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, planescape & icewind dale, path finder 1 & 2 all on your ps5/ps4 while you wait. 👍
I was on the Beta. I'm super happy with how it's come out. The prologue level is much shorter, so you're in the actual game proper sooner. The new items and the proficiency bonus skills allows for a lot of variety in combat. I love having the option to play the NPC characters. I'm super excited to see what's beyond Act 1.
Yeah, I only played the beta once when it came out and I noticed now that the prologue has a whole missing section where you went outside and had a bunch more fights against imps.
@@LordBaktor Yeah, but honestly it was more tedious than fun. It really just sets you up with more loot to sell later. Streamlining it makes way more sense, and the way they did it still gives you the basic mechanics you learned in the extended version.
I played Early Access and the game has changed in so many ways. Even going from the final EA patch to this release version, I am noticing so many changes. The game looks even better. Some balancing. Quite a few QoL changes (mostly from the early days of EA, but some new ones too). This game is a masterpiece and I can't wait to explore as much as I can. (I'm also so interested to see how the game changes now that it is released. Sure there will be some stability patches. But in the past Larian has included some surprises as well).
It really is an amazing game. I haven't been this pleased with a game in a long long time, it's been so long since a game just totally sucked me in. The amount of replayability in this game is INSANE. From character builds that have subclasses that you can multiclass that you can subclass. The fact that those builds affect dialogue. The choices you make the can really affect the game seemingly every 5 minutes, including main characters dying. Like there are multiple Wrex moments, some quite early in the game. Just the branching paths of branching paths of branching paths. Its truly the most impressive thing about this game. No game has ever come close. I mean I always thought it was crazy that people played Mass Effect 3 with Talia when she died for me at the end of 2 but in this game its like, "Oh all those things that did or didn't happen to that major character in your playthrough? Interesting... I barely remember that guy. I killed him in act 1." Again the branching storyline tree would be a mile wide if you wrote it out on a wall. I swear 50% of the development team spent the entire development time just writing. The variations a single dialogue can take.
I played DnD 5e for about a year, and I am so excited for this title. It's been a really long time since I bought a game close to launch and even paid full price for. What I especially love is how Larian puts so much money into BG3 and don't shove MTX down our throats. I hope it sends a strong signal to "treeple a" studios that this is what we want from them.
Started playing since yesterday night and yeah, a few hours in, it’s pretty awesome. I know there are some discussions out there on whether it’s really an heir to BG2, but when it comes to how it makes me feel, it’s like being thrown back 23 years.
I already bought. I don't normally do CRPG's, I tried Divinity and haven't been able to play more than a few hours into a campaign before getting overwhelmed and disinterested. I bought this game on Aug 3 and I'm 52 hours in so far, I can't put it down. One of the best games of the year by far, HIGHLY recommend even if you don't traditionally play these kinds of game, ESPECIALLY if you don't
Never played this type of game before and I can say I am with you on this one. Really difficult to leave the game and I've been lacking sleep for a few days. Hope more people pick up the game and have fun. Before anyone else say there are lots of other games that are fun to play, yes we know that. Just saying this game is also really fun to play. For a lot of reasons. Here's to more hours of fun!
I never got into D&D, but I've dabbled in a few CRPG's. Those didn't really click with me, but the choices you can make in the story plus the in-depth combat really makes me want to try this game. Plus, it's basically a giant middle-finger to AAA gaming, what with missing all the microtransactions and such. Still on the fence, but it looks good
I've played a few of Larians other games, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, and Dragon Commander, but neither Original Sin just did not click with me for some reason even though I liked them, it feels like a chore to play, and it's the same feeling that I get with Baldurs Gate 3, and it doesn't help that I just do not like the party members so far, especially Gale. It makes me feel miserable that I'm not enjoying it like everyone else and I've been made fun of for not being as into it as they are by saying that I have no soul.
@@ProfessorHanger I played it for a little bit and quite enjoyed it. I don't really have the time these days to give it a full playthrough, but I enjoyed what I played. But I understand it's not everyone's game. Whoever is making fun of you is just plain dumb. I personally did not enjoy Elden Ring more than Bloodborne at its launch, so I've been there done that. In other words: it's okay not to like a game lol
I've already purchased this game for console to have it as a proper sit down and play for a good few hours type game, but this game just looks and feels perfect for the Steam Deck! Also now that it is verified on the Deck, it opens up so much versatility to the game! Maybe having a full on roleplay character for my console, but then having a more jokey cliché character for my Steam Deck playthroughs would be a nice idea!
Im usually a life simulation/casual farm game girl and i have 50+ hours and three different campaigns, all still in act 1 and i keep finding new ways to approach encounters and situations. I love this game and its characters so much
11:31 Welcome to dungeons and dragons, or literally any TTRPG/CRPGs, where the next step is so open ended you have no idea what to do next. It may be a drawback for some, but this issue is actually the greatest feature of DnD and other TTRPGs, so really Larian embraced it and gave made it tangible. I only see this as a success
God this is the first game in years to make me want to play on pc, been too comfortable playing consoles for the last years that my pc probably can’t run this
Tbh I looked at the specs & they’re very reasonable. You can run it with graphics card from several years ago, just not on the highest settings of course
Just started playing this recently after never playing a CRPG or a single game of DnD, and I pretty much agree with everything Jake says here. It can seem a bit daunting at first, but once you get a hang of the combat, everything clicks. I also realized pretty early on that this game is so dense with stuff to do/check out/explore that there's no point in trying to get through it quickly. I highly recommend it.
I got early access day one.. loved every minute of the near 200 hours spent in early access. Finally it here and I can’t think of a game I’m more pleased with.
it is truly difficult for newbies, who haven't played even one second of Dungeons and Dragons? I feel enticed to buy the game, however, I am afraid of not adjusting my game pattern which I have never played any type of CRPG before, do you recommend for someone who is enticed but dubious with the purchase? haha
@@gustavrusi’ve never played D&D or CRPGs before, hate turn based combat yet I still bought it, the story of this game seems to good to pass on and AAA companies bashing this game for how well made it is justifies the purchase even more, I haven’t got to play it yet because the download is taking forever but I say you buy it anyways as you have 2 hours available on steam to try it for, if you don’t enjoy it or it’s not your type of game you can just refund it, from what i’ve heard it teaches you everything you need to know, don’t be scared to buy it and try it.
@@gustavrus It's really not too hard. The beginning of the game (probably peaking late Act 1) is harder than the rest IMO, so if you're concerned just play it on easy mode at first. The later parts of the game you pick up very powerful items that make the encounters easier, even though the enemies and encounter complexity definitely rises later in the game, offsetting this. You can change to a harder mode at any time so long as you're not actively in combat I think (so just reload an earlier save if you keep dying, and change it) 😌 .
I have been great watching people play the game on live streams, with all of the great voice acting and character interaction, then the dice rolling. People in chats get very invested in the outcomes etc. I think BG3 will probably have a very good lifespan.
This was my first hardcore RPG, I played a bard. Honestly you will stumble a bit with the combat at first, but pretty quickly you get pretty good at using the most of your team
I wish! But I personally think there would be no clones cuz of how unattractive from the shareholder perspective the zero ingame monetisation looks like. Unfortunately this might be the case of a once in ten years occurrence. It's just too expensive to make without implementing ways of milking millions of dollars from players in a cash shop.
@@sexypixels988It's much easier to monetize than you think, unfortunately. Cosmetics, powerful items, unlockable characters, unlockable dungeons, unlockable quests; Larian just decided to ignore all of that and made the game they wanted to make. The clones won't have the same quality but they will exploit the playerbase into the ground.
This is simply put, the best RPG ever made Full Stop. The amount of love, work and care that has obviously gone into this, puts EA, Ubisoft and all the others to shame. The new standard of how RPGs need to be made, coming from an Indy Company. EDIT: Indie means "Independent" not "small company".
I bet the relatively short length is to facilitate multiple playthroughs. You can load up 3 different characters in 3 different games and no single playthrough will feel the same. That’s the impression that I got from what I’ve played so far
Dude that sounds amazing in my eyes, I have other things to do and more games to play, plus I have no issue playing a game more than once so the shorter the better lol.
My friend and I spent an hour and ½ trying to take down the introduction boss you're "not supposed to defeat". It was somewhat of a pain, but if you're running a barbarian you get a sick flaming great sword that will last quite a few levels.

This year's been the year of the remake/remaster but this game is interesting and seemingly sprawling with effort.
Love reading DnD books/novels. But I Haven’t really played a legit DnD game ever (not counting KoTOR) The rules always seemed confusing to me. But I am looking forward to getting into this in my old age. The next couple of months are going to be frothy for game releases 🙏
I've been playing multiplayer with my buddy and I've had a couple of crashes so far, and the autosave feature doesn't go as often as I'd like. But beyond that, this game is amazing
I sadly never got the chance to play the other BG games back in the day, but I DID read a shit ton of Forgotten Realms books when I was in High School, so seeing some of those old lore memories being jogged is really part of the fun of watching others play this. Sadly, my laptop would explode if I tried to play this right now, so sadly I'll have to wait until September when it comes out on PS5. But hey, I loved Divinity: OS 2 so I know Larian did a great job with this one.

Thank you Jake and the gameranx team! Before you buy is probably one my favourite series on youtube, informative yet entertaining. I watch every single one of these videos, doesn't matter if I'm interested in the game or not. That being said, I think I'm getting this one on my next pay cheque!
Been playing since 2020 and I have seen some tweaks for the better. This game is awesome. Hats off to Larian they have made a fantastic game. Full of amazing characters and dialogue and etc, etc. The list goes on, they have packed so much into this. You do NOT have to play the 1st two games (even though I have) to enjoy this. Some characters pop up here and there and there are a few easter eggs, but NEW players can jump straight in. It helps to either watch or read up on DnD structure if you have never played that type of game before. Have fun fellow adventurers

I’ve always been intrigued by DND but I’ve never been able to find anyone that I could play with which was sad so I never really got to experience that table top game. I never played any of the other DND video games before I had been intrigued by this game, but when I learned it was for PC I was like oh yeah not gonna play because I’m not a PC gamer, but I had watched other RUclipsrs that I like including this channel and then when I found out it was gonna come out for the PS five🎉 I have been planning to buy a PlayStation five, but had not done it yet, because I was waiting for the price to go down some but then I was kind of disappointed at the time when I bought it that there was not physical copy of this game, but I couldn’t wait for one because I had been studying learning all that stuff about this game and the high praise it was getting so I had already saved up enough to buy a PlayStation five also extended memory storage device as well and enough to purchase this game digitally. I was going to have three days off of work the moment I got out of work I went over and got it, and I have been loving itso much😊 I was planning on doing a Dragonborn barbarian, but then I ended up picking a warlock and forgive my spelling tilfling then later, I picked my Dragon barbarian, and then a Drow vengeance oath paladin, who was also a dark urge

God damn that’s nuts

If only this level of commitment and care was a standard across the industry,
Actually I think the controller support for this is one of the most impressive parts, I would never even consider playing a game like this on controller, but its a really good implementation especially if you are playing on a TV and the UI is too small for you
I play keyboard for this game I'm not sure anymore, the left and right cameras are annoying to deal with
Honestly, I have some qualms about it.
Can't find group stealth keybind on controller, and I cant find the area search that controller has but on keyboard.
Otherwise, its very user friendly, and comfortable to use. Moreso than the divinity games, and magnitudes better than I expected for controller support, even with console launch coming soon.
@@sagewynngames4222 I had this issue as well. In the input menu, it shows party hide as (hold) down d pad, I haven't tried it yet.
Im VERY happy they did full controller support, now i can play with the deck docked on the couch
Group stealth key bind on controller is the down pad, hold it down. Hold up to jump. I'm using controller on pc. It's great.
IT'S AMAZING. I played the pre-release and it's different enough I'm not bored. The story is MUCH better. I love it.

I bought this game a few days ago and I am absolutely in love with it. This is my first D & D game and I normally don't like turn based games but the story and quests so far are freaking amazing. Took me a bit to get used to the combat system though. This is gonna go down as one of my all time favorite RPG's. Absolutely amazing game.

I had no idea BG3 was made by the same people who made Divinity 2. I LOVE that game and it was extremely reminiscent of D&D. Now that they made a game officially backed by D&D, I cannot wait to play it!

I worked on some really great games during my time with "Runecraft".
Kinda like living a dream it was back then, I'd imagine it's not as great being a tester nowadays.

Pretty crazy that with just a couple of games Larian has easily established themselves as the best CRPG developer in the history of the genre.

@dangerfly eh, I kinda see your point, but I still think it's good that those options are there for people to have fun with. If people want to make a goofy character or go for a certain aesthetic they should be allowed to do that.
Some more lore appropriate options would be cool though to still make it feel like it makes sense in a fantasy world. For those that want it of course.
This game is slower than a game from the early 90s.. pushing the mark? More like devolving the mark.

As someone who finished the BG1 and 2 back in the day, this looks awesome. My main worry is that I don't have enough time to meaningfully play it, as it doesn't seem like a very casual game and I have less time then I used

It's a reskin of DOS2 - nothing more.

Still on the fence, but it looks good
yeah matter of fact this is an AAAA game. still great
I've played a few of Larians other games, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, and Dragon Commander, but neither Original Sin just did not click with me for some reason even though I liked them, it feels like a chore to play, and it's the same feeling that I get with Baldurs Gate 3, and it doesn't help that I just do not like the party members so far, especially Gale.

Larian is really setting the standard for RPGs. Prepare to see tons of clones down the line.
Been playing since 2020 and I have seen some tweaks for the better. This game is awesome. Hats off to Larian they have made a fantastic game. @@glentaker early access doesn't carry over to full release because the beginning is a little different I believe and there's a few things you'll miss out on
I almost bought MW3 to play with my friend and ended up buying this instead, it's already one of my favorite games ever.
it's not TOO challenging if you play on explorer/story mode! just like DOS2. I love being able to relax in combat and experience just mostly the epic sprawling story and characters. battles are an afterthought for me now that I don't have a lot of time to play for combat headaches.
Make misteaks, I see what you've done there 😂
I’ve always been intrigued by DND but I’ve never been able to find anyone that I could play with which was sad so I never really got to experience that table top game. I was going to have three days off of work the moment I got out of work I went over and got it, and I have been loving itso much😊
I was planning on doing a Dragonborn barbarian, but then I ended up picking a warlock and forgive my spelling tilfling then later, I picked my Dragon barbarian, and then a Drow vengeance oath paladin, who was also a dark urge
I bought the game already, just gotta buy a decent PC for it, planning to go as Paladin, Oath of the Ancients.
As I understood the by the time it happens, game will be much more different comparing to the one that was released, but I am not discouraged, I am excited to play Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 before that and learn more about the world.
