Your voice quality is very clear…which one you use ? We want on initial stage of setting of podcast studio. Please guide on audio…we are from video background 😊🙏
Very good video. Being on a big budget and more of a hobby, this is way out of my price range. I have been looking at other videos, but shopping Amazon for good deals. I have seen solid mic set ups for 40 bucks. Also there is software that can be had for cheap to help with a usb set up. I have liked and subscribed since you have some solid advice and the radio voice is awesome Sir!
HEADPHONES: How do you feel about the Sony MDR 7506? Light weight, flat signature, very comfortable and half the price of the 50x's? Used for broadcasting for decades. Great Video!!
Whoa, no kidding on the future proofing. No wonder your podcast is as great as it is, helps the host and guests are great too ;) I only really listen to two podcasts. Yours that I follow the best I can and Conan O'Briens pod that I listen to on and off at times. Super cool seeing a little behind the scenes here.
What audio equipment would I need and I’m the 14 year old that wants to podcast what audio equipment would I need for a podcast I know a microphone is that all I need and thank you so much for all the help I really appreciate it 👍🙏
First guest I ever had I had the same thing happen, I was so nervous I just didn't click record. The guest (Bog Otter) was super gracious and said, "let's do it again then"
@BillFairchild Haha that's great! I think it will honestly work out and give us the opportunity to restructure the episode to be better for the viewers! Thanks again for the great vid!
I have seen so many people talk about equipment, mic and mixer and all the other stuff.. that’s great. But is there any video that actually talks about how to record (audio) the damn thing? Once it’s all set up.. what software? And if you do video… how does that change the mic
Hi, having watched your videos (and others) I have decided to try my hand at podcasting. I am, as you may have surmised, a complete novice and beginner and, initially at least, I'll be a solo podcaster. I have decided on an MXL990 mic, but which mixer is still puzzling me. I have the option to get hold of an Alto ZMX862 for a very reasonable price. Will this work for me, and can I then link it to my computer for editing? Lastly, for now, what headphones would you recommend? Many thanks for your help and advice.
I use these headphones. www.amazon.com/dp/B00OP93VI0/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_PZC3TCDD97KXNF53FEYN?linkCode=ml2&tag=runj-20 As for your mixer I’m not familiar with that one in particular
Question from someone considering getting the Rode Caster Pro II: Do you record inside the device, or is it connected into a computer with a DAW for post production?
I have a budget of $7,000 to 8000. What equipment should I buy for lighting, camera, lenses, microphone, and accessories? using 2 camera including the sony a7iv
Hi Bill. Quick question. If using Ferrite, do you also reord onto it directly or do you record elsewhere and edit in Ferrite. I have a decision to make and i'd like a bit of guidance. ipaad pro m2 11 inch, so i have the screen real estate and the power to edit, just not the work flow, or maybe the mic? using a zoom h2 to record, then transferring. Shane, Tipperary, Ireland
I think the Zoom H2 will have better audio quality, than if you were recording into your iPad. I'm curious, does the iPad recognize the H2 as a device?
I recently invested in the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and mic. When in the same room hooked up with two macbooks we keep getting feedback and cannot figure out why. Any suggestions?
Hey man I’m 14 looking to do a podcast I’m getting a mic and I still don’t know if I want to get a camera or use my phone and get a tripod or something and do I need a control panel for podcasting or no like a road caster pro 2 or I don’t have to get one trying to make it under 400$ or 500$ I’m getting a mic for free from someone though. I don’t know a bunch about podcasting like editing and stuff and control panels but I know every thing else. but any help will be very very appreciated
Take it one step at a time. Start with audio only so you can learn how that works. Once you have a handle on that then bring in video. Your phone probably has a great camera.
Hi. I'm in the process of starting a podcast but I need some help I'm on a meager budget I'm Fixed income on a minimal budget. My problem is I'm looking for a good interface that supports two different types of mics. I'm using an XLR Microphone And my cohost is using a USB microphone. So I need to know what kind of interface would I need to support those two different types of microphones. Please help.
Are you going to be in the same room? If that’s the case, then you’re probably better off getting a second XLR microphone. As far as the interface you could probably go with the Scarlet duo. If that’s outside your budget, then I would recommend recording your podcast remotely because that will simplify a lot of tech issues you might run into
@@BillFairchild I think I misstyped its the HyperX Quadcast i think i jumbled it all together in my head lol, is that a bad mic? its the type S by Ngenuity
@@BillFairchild in the live stream it was echoing so bad no one could understand me and I never heard what they heard. I did get a new computer because its time and I am very serious about this but audio is everything
If every RUclipsr spared me the prompts to like and subscribe and watch to the end, it would save me years of lifetime, sorry, man, I just can't hear it anymore
@@BillFairchild You're probably right, but I don't know - never do it on my own channel (perhaps it expains the lack of success😆) but this "please like me" ... I would never say it myself, would make me feel desperate. If someone likes me, great, if not ... would they do just because I ask them to? That's why everybody says "click the like button", but it means exactly the same.
Obviously monetizing your channel with below rating gear that’s too expensive for what they offer. Better deals out there. Careful folks…. This guy is selling you expensive gear you really don’t need to get started.
Solid video dude. I used to pod a few years ago just jusing a yeti and audacity. Ill definitely be picking up a few of these pieces you suggested
You have the perfect podcast voice!
All great advice!!! Love the subtle gaming background and great looking beard!
Actually have the mics and Duo. Need to get some of that lighting soon.

You can use audacity for free, or Reaper for $60 I think.

I've seen a lot of people use them so they must be pretty great, the earcups look so thin though, I personally really like thick pads on the ear cups

Everyone starts making podcast should watch this video first! Would be our Tank3 microphone a great fit for podcasting?
I don't have any experience with that microphone, does it sound good to you? If so then it's probably good.

Is something like the Rode USB Mini incompatible with the Scarlett Solo?
the Rode USB Mini hooks directly up to a computer, no need for the Scarlet.
Good stuff, very informative
Glad it was helpful!

Both. It has a built in recorder, you can export that to your computer when you're done

Great video. To the point and good recommendations.
Great Video Bill!
As a total newbie to podcasting, what is the difference between a video podcast and "just" a RUclips video ?
Nothing really outside of hosting, a podcast is available via RSS, a RUclips video is not.
I recently invested in the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and mic. When in the same room hooked up with two macbooks we keep getting feedback and cannot figure out why. Any suggestions?
Have the microphones at different angles lower the gain and bring them close to your face.
Great video, any tips on how I can get a video clip say from youtube while recording my video podcast
I'm not sure I understand your question.
Very informative and simple, great job
Thanks for the great tips!!

When you say riverside edits it. What fo you mean exactly?
Riverside can automatically switch the camera to the person that’s talking. It’s not something that I have to do myself.
