    5. Be specific with your focus (Don’t be too broad)
    4. Don’t compare yourself (it’s you verses you yesterday)
    3. You don’t market your podcast (build your audience. Clear niche & message. Build relationships. Be a guest on other podcasts.
    2. Define what a successful podcast means to you. (What are your goals for your podcast? Show up consistently)
    1. They give up too fast. (Be patient. Market yourself & be consistent)

I'm not sure if this helps, but I've found releasing shorter episodes (20-30 minutes max) has brought me more listeners. People only have so much time in the day and a two-hour podcast will be very off-putting. A shorter one means a better chance of consumption.

This is true, when I consider listening to a new podcast, is if it's more than an hr, I probably pass. However it also depends on what kind of podcast, if it's deep conversation, an hr is the sweet spot for me.

I’m so GRATEFUL that this video hit my feed this morning. My podcast is just starting to ever so slightly uptick. My niche is an audience of people who, like me, have someone else they care for who is severely disabled or medically fragile. Like special needs parents, caregivers of elders etc. I am a Mom to a 24 year old disabled son, his condition turned our lives completely upside down. This is the inside journey on how to adapt. So I named the podcast “The Adapted Life”. I think the biggest challenge I face is trying to stay consistent, which in itself is antithesis to the life of a caregiver of severely disabled medically fragile person. So it is.
My intuition led me back to tips and strategies from exactly guides like you Pat. I love doing what I do. I am truly on a journey to rediscovering myself after 20 plus years of extreme adversity.
Life is beautiful. Joy is possible, even when your child is born with a deformed brain.
    ❤️❤️❤️🙏Thanks for this video!!

Thank you! I've just started my podcast for teachers and their mental health (Teacher Mindset with Marisa E) and I really want to interview teachers because I feel that this would be the best way to gain listeners. I love Sophie Turner's advice. Even though I am only starting out - everyone had to start somewhere and my ultimate goal is to add value to the lives of teachers (I taught for 20 years) because it's really tough for them right now! I feel like your video showed up at the right time. :)

Great tips Pat, thanks. Idea for a future video- how to reinvigorate/grow a podcast that has no growth.
Coming up on the 7th anniversary of my podcast, my niche has seen a lot of changes and I’m considering a rebrand to expand the topics discussed to reach more people.

This is actually quite nice, I have an audio podcast which is doing great even after considering that I live in a country where English isn't there main language but I make my podcast in English, I have people from different continent's reach out to me, but what can I do to reach the people within, also I just opened up a RUclips channel for the podcast and I have only put out 3 videos.

Being a ex DJ and now producing music, while being a sports fanatic and into sports Wagering, DFS,and Fantasy lineup info from decades of experience. My niche is combo of artists as guests at least once a week, and their picks and sports views and picks for the night or week. While allowing them to plug their projects briefly on the show. Local artists first and then branching out. Musician's and hip hop artists and DJs love sports mostly and let's then be themselves and see another side of them, while talking sports and bets they've made or will make for that time periods games. Depending on the season of year
