For all those about to start or just discovering Pat and his wealth of knowledge. I took his advice just over 2 years ago. Now have a podcast in the top 1% globally , over 3 million downloads and now its own app. You can not go wrong following his advice .
Congrats Martin. Just wondering how much you focus on diet, nutrition and clean eating in your calming anxiety podcast. Just an FYI I’ve suffered level 5 anxiety attacks since about the age of 5 to 49 when I went whole food plant based eating and eliminated processed foods, dairy, animal protein, and sugar from my diet. Anxiety attacks dropped about 98% over the course of 6 months to a year. Also doing a lot of endurance training which may help. Just an FYI. Cheers.
I started my podcast Next to Me 3 months ago because of your videos. Now I have 9 episodes and I have so much fun every time I record one. It was a great decision and I wouldn’t have started without your videos so thank you very much!!!! I hope I stay constant in 2022 and I will try to post an episode every week!! And to everyone starting or with already a podcast I wish you nothing but the best ❤️
Watched previous videos you created and got the courage up to start my new Podcast Gang Life Redemption on RUclips, Spotify, Audible and Apple, now I’m going into 2022 strong. Thank you!
Holy Crap Pat! I first discovered you back in maybe '09. I had lost my plumbing business during the crash and just about everything else. Taught myself to build a website with Wordpress, built one that sold fence products online and made good money off of it. I learned A LOT from you back then. Fast forward 12-14yrs, I am back in construction and am a General Contractor now with a successful home building business. I've been tossing the idea around about starting a podcast aimed at contractors (maybe some realtor type stuff too) and cover marketing, SM, and even using AI to help your contracting business. In my searches, here I am. I watched the "Watch This Before Starting a Podcast" and nabbed your podcasting cheat sheet from there, and followed a link to this playlist. First thing I noticed about you is the beard, and the gray in it! You were such a babyface back in the day. This is a compliment, not an insult LOL, I've got a ton of it in mine now and my daughter wasn't even in kindergarten then and she is graduated from high school and just turned 18 now. Anyway, as part of my marketing plan this year for my own business, I have started acquiring stuff to get footage on job sites and new homes we are building. That includes a couple of GoPros (Hero 10 and 11) and a DJI Mavic 2. I've started collecting accessories for the GoPros and one important thing was a wireless mic. I went with the DJI Wireless Mic. 2 questions: For just starting out, with the right accessories, will the Gopros and the DJI mic suffice to get started, I am not broke and not afraid to invest in my podcasting business (that's what it is for me), but was curious on your thoughts. As always, just like over a decade ago, thanks for always being so open to share information! Keep the beard!

Thank you Pat Flynn. Only 1 week ago I explored the overwhelming thought of a podcast. I began this video, ordered the products, created my artwork, description and content list while I waited. I unboxed yesterday afternoon and this afternoon have posted my 1st podcast on FB, Tweeter and updated my directories list. Your video does a great job of breaking the steps down into bite size accessible content. I will check back for more videos after I upload my next two podcasts on the schedule. Why? Hey Nancy! It's 1 year since you posted this and I'm curious about how you're finding your podcast? I'm a teacher and make youtube videos, but I'm thinking about diving into some interview style podcasts with colleagues. Wondering if you have any tips or advice?
I did some podcasting back in 2008 and 2009. I regret not sticking with it. That said it was painful to push them out with the feeds etc. other than smartphones that make listening super easy, the most magical development is the ease in which services like buzz sprout distribute the podcasts. Amazing.
I don't plan on podcasting but am taking piano and voice again after 40+ years and the equipment and software info is so valuable! A mic set up I can afford! So glad I stumbled across your channel when looking for something else OR I should say glad I was LED to your channel - there are NO accidents! Thank you!
I've been podcasting with a colleague for a little over two years but she's moving on to new opportunities. I am keeping the brand and content, and your videos are extremely helpful as I make the transition. Thanks!
Ok, so I'm thinking about starting a PodCast...seriously, this is the first video I watch...I already have three pages of notes! I think I found my guy! Great content, love your style and what great content...I feel already ahead of the game! Thanks Pat!

Hello Pat, I just discovered your channel today. I randomly searched on RUclips, and for some reason, I chose you. I want to start my own podcast next year, in 2023. And I had no clue how to go about it. I will keep watching more of your videos, get informed and hopefully I will come back here and post an appreciation post. I am so glad I found this!! I am in my 50's and have been listening to podcasts for quite some time. I have some friends that are quite a few years younger than me but we all share the same love of Hockey. So I contacted them last night and asked them if they want to be co-hosts with me on a podcast for our local ECHL hockey team. It is going to be so much fun and your info is so valuable. Thank you.
Hey I'm starting a podcast and by far the hardest thing for me is acting natural during recording. Everyone always tells me how charismatic and naturally gifted at conversation I am, and I agree! I'm frickin great at it, but when I hit record I start to get performance anxiety and honestly I'm just not myself, and if I'm not being me, I don't feel comfortable sharing what I've made. An ytips on how to work through this anxiety?
I had the same issue starting off. Super natural when face to face but simply talking to a mic feels different. Just record, simply recording doesn't have to mean publishing. As you record it's get more natural feeling and smoother. Hang in there!
Depends on subject your podcast is on. If it's on a topic you just love and have for many years.( Then for me,and I'm only on episode 3 mind you) I sit back and just shoot the sh## as I would be with my friends kicking back. I actually go wayy over time, and make sure I cut it to no more than a hour . My dogs sit by me,and well they see me talk to myself a lot anyways lol
Thank you so much for this information. I am nervous to start my podcast but it is something I need to do. I learned so much from this video, which took some of the tension off. Again, thank you
yo thanks, you have helped me out a lot. I finally stared my podcast called "The Webinar" and only 3 subs so far hopefully I can get more soon!! really excited about this journey, so happy I finally got it off the ground!!
Wonderful Pat as always. My daughter has a podcast I believe she has 20 episodes already and I will make sure she knows about you and this video. Thank you just for being you.

DELOREAN. I've bought the mic, watched a few of your shows, made my lists, got my artwork....and soon I'm going to start recording. Thanks for the advice. BTW are those Nike Air Mags in the background with the Zelda shield? Lee
Thank you for the tip on the mic and having it really close. I bought what I thought was a very good mic. When I went to use it, it did not sound good at all. I thought it was the mic, because it is strange to have the mic right on your mouth. But now I see that that is just the way you do it.
Thank you so much for creating this video and dropping so much knowledge in a straightforward way. I'm starting a podcast but didn't really know how to get started. I've watched a lot of videos where they give way too much detail and way too many options. I truly appreciate how succinct your information is.
Thank you so much. this video was so helpful. Answers all my question to creating my own podcast. I was feeling overwhelm until I watched this whole video, beginning to end. So helpful. Thank you again.
Thanks for this, I'm about to start my first podcast called "How Haunted?" And your videos have made me far more confident about being able to do this, than I was when I first had an idea to do one

One way to make sure that the spot that needs editing is visible on the wave form is to use a dog training clicker. Hold it in your hand, click when you make a mistake, pause briefly, then re-state the last sentence and keep going. It is always easily seen, and editing is usually just a matter cutting out a small piece.

Great info, thank you! two questions: 1. what equipment does an interviewee need on their end? 2. Should they sign a release form giving the okay to publish and is there a standard template for this?
I just came across you Pat and I'm really gaining,I never knew I could do a podcast,I tried RUclips channel but it didn't work well for me coz I'm shy,but was told I have a gift talking to people and also a voice for podcast,so I'm so excited to use this information I learnt from you to start my own show... really helpful thank you 👍
So I don't know why this is, but I use Studio One 5 (I'm used to it for music production so I may as well use it for podcasting too) and I can adjust everything post recording to keep it from peaking. I can peak like crazy during the recording and then just add some compression or adjust levels afterwards and then it's fine.
Perhaps you are recording in 32 bit floating? Which would probably mean your files are massive. That's the only thing I can think of that would allow this.
Love the info so far, but being new to Podcasting. I started to glaze over at the 8:11 minute mark. I'm sticking with it though. Good info. Just had to step away for a half a minute. Carry on! Time to learn. Here we go. Um yeah. Sorry. A little hyped here. Okay, I'm done now... Why am I still here I have to watch the video. For real. Bye! :)
So good. Appreciate this video. Decided I wanted to start a podcast for my super niche hobby, got a few thousand followers on Instagram so this felt like a good time to do it. Not really knowing much if anything prior in terms of equipment or distribution so this was absolutely perfect. Excited to get rolling :) Thank you.

Thank so much for this video. I've dreamed for years of doing my own podcast. Your informative and inspiring words will now move me to take the steps necessary. A big confusion has always been whether or not a podcast has to have a video component and for that matter is it still called a podcast w a video component. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Glad you're here. Take Pat's advice; no more crappy podcast audio, please!😉 7:19 seems Zoom and Skype audio usually sucks; please do better, e.g. Squadcast.
I literally liked before I got really into the video, I just had a feeling you were going to deliver exactly what you said you would. I sifted through a lot of videos and I'm glad I picked this one. I'm only half way but I'm feeling really motivated to start, thank you, Pat!
Just kicked off my very own podcast “leaders legends legacies” on June 8. I am super pumped about it and landed up getting to know Pat through a YT video around the Top 5 podcast boo boos. So glad I found Pat and his advice seems so easy to listen and follow.
Graham's words are practical and enlightening. It's so helpful to listen to him, and understand some tough concepts in an easy-to-receive message. Thanks again, Graham Cooke and team!
Audient EVO 4 or 8 is the most affordable audio interface worth getting for podcasting. Great warm preamps and the ability to record computer audio, my microphone is in Input 1 (my microphone) and Input 2 is the computer audio (Zoom/Guest interview)
I love you Patt!!!! Did you know I used to work with JLD in 2015? ahah that's where I found you... and until now... still loving every stuff you have..
My dream, as is many other, is to become a full-time content creator. I would focus on my specific niche in the beginning and then if I get big enough I could talk about totally random stuff such as Deloreans.
PAT.....I am new to this....I'm 56 with a lifetime of knowing. Thank You so much for this Video!!! 1 question....does it cost to put the podcast on those different sites?...or only from the host???
This is very helpful. What really caught my attention was not scripting, which I was already starting to do but I now that I've heard your tips and all the positive reviews about you and your channel, I'll be going with an outline format.
Thanks Pat. I'm just starting SmittyOnLocation podcast. I appreciate the part that you said, to be yourself and not script everything. Thanks again for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us.
Making the commitment! Thanks for the links for equipment. Ordered each item needed to get started, created Buzzsprout account, Chose title for show. Now just to prepare out line for tops and run of show for “Soap Talk with Karen”. Spent many years at the Daytime Emmy Awards, After Parties, was featured annually in Soap Opera Weekly and even reported on the fashion & parties for Soap Opera Weekly (not to mention I have been a loyal fan since childhood) and watch the soaps from the inside out! Thinking that qualifies me as an expert with enough content to fill years worth of shows!
OMGosh! This was so very helpful Pat. You explained all the steps so it's so easy to understand. Super excited to see more content and rock this new podcast. Already ordered a mic, boom arm, etc, and am on lesson 1. Thank you SO VERY MUCH! Just need to pick a launch day! :0)

Calming Anxiety seem to know
Maybe try recording in front of a mirror so your essentially talking to yourself? Like literally look at yourself and record
I'm so excited I just got so inspired to start an idea I've had for years...!
Thank you so much for this information. I am nervous to start my podcast but it is something I need to do. I learned so much from this video, which took some of the tension off. Again, thank you
Great advice for aspiring podcasters, Pat. When I started my podcasting journey a few years ago, I really appreciated your content.
it is true. I love how he talks about many details things.
I’m planning to start my podcast in May, nervous and excited, Loved how much your episode informative is, highly appreciated 🙏

If anyone is curious, the mic adapter at 5:12 fits perfectly into a Blue Snowball, allowing you you suspend the Snowball directly if you want
Thank you so much for creating this video and dropping so much knowledge in a straightforward way. I'm starting a podcast but didn't really know how to get started. I've watched a lot of videos where they give way too much detail and way too many options. I truly appreciate how succinct your information is.
While in quarantine i decided to learn a new thing since i am intetesting person and i had fun listening to i thankst
Hi Pat, this is great. You covered many things anybody needs to know at the beginning. Thank you sooo muuuch.

As always Pat Flynn, this is a terrific lesson. I have been following you for over 10 years now and you are so good. Thanks for being there for us.😎!
Thx Pat, you have cleared up much of the confusion.
TREMENDOUS VIDEO FRIEND. I Have Made 67 Videos on UGETube and Now Am Ready For The BIG SHOW! I Have Been Blessed To Run Into Your PODCAST SERIES AND I AM SO STOKED ABOUT STARTING. Thank You So Much. Your tips have helped! Starting to get between 10-15 views a pod! We are getting somewhere!
This is the best video I have ever watched on the topic of starting a podcast from scratch. Thank you!
Great info, thank you! two questions: 1. what equipment does an interviewee need on their end? 2. Should they sign a release form giving the okay to publish and is there a standard template for this?
Appreciate the help. Working towards getting my DeLorean.
@@ORyanMcEntire
Nope, project files are actually quite small. The size doesn't get big until after I export.
For real. Bye! :)
This is so helpful (seriously from the beginning thanks)

What a great instructional video. Thanks so much for doing this. I have not decided yet, whether I’ll do a podcast, but your video has made the idea sound so much less intimidating! Thank you!
What an amazing podcast/video/ I so much appreciate the things you do for others. You make the world a beter place. I will be uploading my first podcast very soon. Thank you for your advice and tutoring. Outstanding.
All the best, Craig
DELOREAN?! Great episode Pat, thanks for sharing!
This is fire and really helpful. Thanks for the help and already subscribed. I love every video you post Delorean 😅
🔥
Love your videos. They have really helped me focus on my Podcast idea and hopefully will publish soon!
Glad you're here. Take Pat's advice; no more crappy podcast audio, please!😉 7:19 seems Zoom and Skype audio usually sucks; please do better, e.g. Squadcast.
This was such a detailed podcast video. Thank you Pat you answered so many of my questions!
Dude…. Thank you for these! I’ve been sitting on a few shows for a while and now I’m pushing the dream of mine to the foreground. 🤘🏻
it is very useful information.
DELOREAN! Love your trainings!
I literally liked before I got really into the video, I just had a feeling you were going to deliver exactly what you said you would. I sifted through a lot of videos and I'm glad I picked this one. I'm only half way but I'm feeling really motivated to start, thank you, Pat!
Thank you so much for showing us how to start a podcast. Absolutely completed tutorial.Definitely you didn’t miss any point.
Thank you for your tutorial. I plan to use it for my students. Many of them will create a podcast for their final project.
Great video Pat! I know how much you love the DELOREAN, so figured I'd mention it in the comments ;)
I've watched a lot of videos for this topic. This one hit just right.
omg.. this is so useful, especially on the part where needing to record podcasts solo. it is so difficult really.
Awesome... Thank you... I got a real big picture of what it is to create a podcast and how.
I will!
very helpful am starting now thank you…. you really managed to motivate me
Audient EVO 4 or 8 is the most affordable audio interface worth getting for podcasting. Great warm preamps and the ability to record computer audio, my microphone is in Input 1 (my microphone) and Input 2 is the computer audio (Zoom/Guest interview)
Top man I'm in prep stage great advice looking forward to more vids and advice thank you,
I love you Patt!!!!
Did you know I used to work with JLD in 2015? ahah that's where I found you... and until now... still loving every stuff you have..
Great video! Thank You! I've felt led to start a podcast in the near future & HAD NO IDEA how to get started!
I write All the tips you said in my note, too simple but like a secret ❤️
Good luck! You got this!
Pat Flynn is the king of podcasting! Thank you.
Thank you for the tips Pat. Great content; just got my Samson mIc. Cheers!
OMGosh! This was so very helpful Pat. You explained all the steps so it's so easy to understand. Super excited to see more content and rock this new podcast. Already ordered a mic, boom arm, etc, and am on lesson 1. Thank you SO VERY MUCH! Just need to pick a launch day! :0)
Wow, that is so great! I'm encouraged by your resolve. What will be the name of your podcast?
I LOVE THIS Pat. As I am going to start my podcast, i REALLY need some good advice and your chanel was recommended to me. I am excited for this new venture and where it is going to lead me .😊
