That wasn’t the fist time coz the same happened when we went to a furniture shop and other places. I love food and I eat almost everything only in smaller portions now compared to when I was younger.😊

My grandmother was stunning... Softest skin ever. She passed in March 2018, just 3 weeks shy of her 107th birthday. She used rosewater and had a strong cup of coffee every morning ... Just one. She took a multivitamin. And had lots of water. 💞 My papa passed December 26, 2008 at age 97. He had his two cups of morning coffee with a tablet of saccharin.... I just do what they did. It really is in my favor that genetics play a big role. My paternal g-father died in a fire before my birth. But my paternal grandmother died in 2004 at 89... And she had a hard life. Raised 10 kids. Dipped Railroad Mills snuff DAILY but never smoked a cigarette. Sipped on vodka often. And ate fried chicken and homemade biscuits and gravy with bacon AT LEAST twice a week! She was on dialysis the last two years, sadly. So I have made improvements to my diet and quit smoking 3 years ago in Feb. Got my seriously high blood pressure under control. And I aspire to have nice long life. 💞

Growing up I had a terrible time with acne. The medical community at the time firmly established that there was no connection between diet and acne. Enter two decades later and going on a vegan diet for health reasons. The first month of no dairy and my skin cleared up in a month. I never had issues with lactose intolerance, so this occurrence was rather surprising. Some people may be lucky enough to eat anything and have amazing skin. Lucky if you are One, I was not one of those. Now in my mature age I have amazing Skin, with all of the great skincare products out there, plus my diet devoid of meat and dairy no kidding in some ways I look more vibrant than when I was much younger. I don’t drink soda and I like green tea, but I’d say that cold brew fruit teas are a great swap from soda drinks, as some actually taste like soda, just without the fizz. The only difference I see with old and young is the level of body hydration. My granny is 90 and she just looks dried up compared to my mom. The old wrinkled look is similar to that of a plum verses a prune. It’s oxidised and dried out. So staying young would seem to work the same way. Keep oxidative stress/damage low and stay hydrated by any means necessary. Anti oxidants, water, sleep, stress free, breath work to bring oxygen & blood flood through the cells and definitely agree with the fermented foods thing. Stimulate autophagy and reduce glycation and increase growth hormone.

Now I only get pop when I go out to eat and even then it's less likely for me to. I drink water, tea, or coffee, but mainly water because it's safe to drink out of the tap. Juice is purely if my body sugar is low which is normally after an anxiety attack or a lot of stress. I never crave pop anymore!

  • @cannibalvegetableyt

Dairy, specifically fermented, actually helps me with digestion- but I'm descended from long lines of dairy-consuming people; it makes sense that the opposite would be true for those from cultures where dairy is absent.
Also, sheep and goat milk are far easier to digest than cow's milk, and from what I've read, are less likely to cause acne or inflammation. If you're like me and benefit from dairy, or you love it and have issues, that may be useful to you.
PS: I've gone through extensive food elimination diets (I have medical issues) and dairy was not a trigger, seemingly.
My point is that, statistically, given that so few cultures use dairy, but dairy products are popular in Western Societies, I can see it being a common trigger when a variety of people are tested. Try eliminating it and see if it makes a difference, it very well might, but it also might not. In my case, it helps, but it needs to be fermented.

I love milk. It’s one of my favourite foods. I have always drunk high quantities of milk (plus all the yoghurt and cheese I been eating) since I was a child, so I guess my body remained used to it.

You’re so lucky. I grew up having diary in my diet but looking back I showed signs of intolerance. Now as an adult my stomach can’t handle it at all, so I’ve cut it out. The only downside is trying to avoid it when it’s a stable part of American diet.

well said! I drink milk in my coffee every morning, as a latte, and I also drink things like mango lassis or make smoothies with yogurt. I don't have any reaction to it that I can tell, unless its some kind of invisible compounding thing. But regardless my dermatologist says I have perfect skin and I'm almost 40, so I don't believe the idea that dairy is bad for everyone.

I drink about 300 mg of (skimmed) milk per day at least. Since years! Some years back, I drank about 2-3 liters per day for about 4 months (I was pregnant then; I had no drop in calcium levels), it was like my water 😂. I have never (not even as teenager) had any problem with acnea, no problem on my skin (I am 40 alread but I still look about 10 years younger).
I am not saying that it's thanks to the milk. Not at all! I just point out that, in my case, milk did no harm. And I love milk! I dislike and avoid soda and alcohol. And I cannot stand staying in the sun, since I was a kid - therefore I always avoid it as best I can.
As about the weight, my BMI is around 22. I do my best to eat healthy.
And, yes, I do IF since 1 year now.
