I’m so grateful I grew up poor in asia that my parents can’t afford snacks/candy or chocolate. I grew up eating vegetables cooked fresh daily so I grew up having no addiction to sweet stuff. I don’t like candy or chocolate cake or any deserts...unless it’s dark chocolate. I’m actually watching this video while snacking on almonds and blueberries
When I grew up I did not eat a lot of candies my mom wouldn't let me and forced me to eat vegetables lol But sometimes I got candy and chocolate and I loved it but it was like a treat. I do love cholcate milk though and I drink that when I workout or cleaning my apartment for hours but I try to not get it all the time but I feel it gives me an energy boast and pick me up personally and rehydrates me
I have been following this diet now 6weeks . My skin looks flawless and I have lost 12 kilo. I feel now more confident, thankful and happy with my life .
Avocado smoothie with Spirulina. Blueberries, pomegranate, grapes, carrots. You name it, I love all those. Especially raw carrot juice. I drink it on a daily basis. Salmon fish, yummy twice a week. No processed foods. And I love water. No soda or caffeine. I’m 42 years old and some say I look 30 years old. Also, having a positive mindset and meditation helps a whole lot. Thank you Doc ❤️❤️❤️
Maybe wild caught salmon. I don't drink, smoke or eat sugar, just 75% dark chocolate and eat healthy and yet I have too may wrinkles around my eyes because I have insomnia problems from time to time.
I don't have the time or money to smoothie everyday and I don't really like fruit it upsets my stomach a lot of times for some reason than vegetables don't really have a taste or good taste to me but I eat them anyways. The only fish I like is tune fish all the other fish I tired I don't like the taste. I mostly drink water and unsweetened tea but I drink milk and chocolate sometime too sometimes off and on. Soda I don't really drink anymore unless I'm having pizza than I will do soda or sweet tea. But growing up my mom did not allow sweets or junk food so I feel when I got on my own I went crazy especially with the sweets lol So I don't think it is good to completely restrict a kid and they see all their friends getting to eat it but they never get to but on the other hand not good to always allow junk food. I know someone else her mother would never let her eat sweets and she went crazy too like me on sweets when she got older lol So I'm not sure that is so good either to never treat yourself or let your kid have sweet treat sometimes
But we do need to eat more healthy in America. Growing up I eat healthy though because my mom cooked healthy and with a lot of vegetables. I didn't drink any green drinks or stuff blended together though. We need to eat more vegetables on the side and in our food and cook more healthy and drink water mostly. And exercise
Americans don't have a "diet" lol There is no specific diet you can eat whatever you want. Growing up my mom just cooked healthy and I hardly ever got candies or sweets so when I grew up and moved out on my own I felt like I kind of went crazy lol And a gained a lot of weight but I was so restricted with my food and never hardly got sweets and stuff. Then I became like a sweet addicted and still it is hard for me but I feel it is ok to let kids have a treat sometimes. Mostly only on my birthday I got treats and could eat sweets
I appreciate that you’re not trying to sell anything or present any “miracle foods.” A balanced diet can be so helpful with so many factors of life, including the skin/aging!

I agree to your list! I have read some health books, and my first and the most eye opening is 'the miracle of enzyme' written by dr. Hiromi Shinya. He said dairy is the worst food for your gut and we have to avoid processed food. I think dr. Youn and dr. Shinya are on the same page!
Thank you so much for the information. I am 37 and starting to see my bad habits reflect on my skin. This info will absolutely help me clean up my act.
Dr. Youn you're absolutely right about your topic today. I was having hormonal issues years ago my face/jawline have massive pimple inflammation that even when I shower I take ibuprofen because the shower water that drop on my face was so painful . Anyways to cut it short I went to derma and gynaecology they gave me topical creams/light treatment and the other dr. gave me birthcontrol but I still have no relief for almost a year, so what I did was finding my own way and changed my diet I was making raw vegetable and fruit juices for breakfast and lunch and cutting out my meat diet (eating it only once a week but the organic meat only) and I cutting dairy and just using almond milk for my coffee. What my new diet t did not show change overnight but I certainly see change on my skin and my energy approx. 2-3 months. I was left with pigmented scars but I used home treat it with raw honey and plain yogurt and now I don't have visible scars and the pigment had lightened. And again you're right about what's being discussed here ;) thank you!
@@thelmagarciaperalta9782 I leave it on within reasonable time 20mins. The honey I used is raw honey (manuka) I mean raw by saying that the honey is not been thru heat process. And basic 101 yogurt (no flavor) good luck!
My husband grew up in a small farming community in Croatia. They grew healthy vegetables and ate lots of canned saurkraut, some eggs. They ate very few meats, maybe an occasional chicken dinner. Most were sold at an open market. For Breakfast typically the family ate bread dipped in coffee. I am a typical American from a middle-class family, but I ate poorly. Pizza, coke, fast food, and very little exercise. I became overweight about 20lbs. Now I am at a good weight. I still crave prepackaged stuff. Who is better off? Well, I guess my husband is. I am going to try to eat more vegan foods.
Absolutely. I battled with acne for more than 10 years when I was younger and never realized it was the dairy causing it. In schools they taught us that milk is essential part of our diet. They actually said that we will break our bones if we don´t drink it.
I spent some time with nomads from Mongolia across Central Asia. They all heavily eat meat and use dairy. They have the most amazing hydrated skin and the elderly have beautiful skin thanks to their daily fatty diet. They use horse milk, goat milk, cow milk, and yak milk depending on the area. Most importantly everything is full fat. They are out in the sun daily and no one uses sun screen. Their skin was truly healthy, and shiny. When milk is taken from properly grazed animals and used raw with full fat, can be remarkable...but I cannot say the same for non nomadic cultures.
1. Eat the rainbow -Fruits and vegetables bc of the antioxidants and they’re often the actual pigments that make up the color of those fruits. So the wider the array of colors that you eat, the wider the array of pigments and antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals, which are 1 of the things really prematurely age us. Free radicals participate in the process called oxidation. Eating fruits and vegetables can help neutralize those free radicals to slow down that aging process 2. Don’t eat sugar -The world is addicted to sugar and sugar prematurely age us in 2 ways ==Sugar will spike in our blood that causes insulin spikes because your pancreas will secrete insulin as a reaction to the sugar spikes, and when you get insulin spikes you can get inflammation. Chronic insulin spikes = chronic inflammation and inflammation is 1 of the driving forces of aging ==The glycation process: during glycation, when you eat sugar, those sugar molecules will actually bond to the collagen of your skin. It can cause collagen to become more kinked and cause your skin to actually to become prematurely aged -avoid desserts, sugary sodas, sweet drinks, white bread, white rice, white pasta bc these are also turned to sugar in our bloodstream 3. Eat good fats -2 types of fats: good and bad. Some people believe that all fat is bad for you and you should eat a low-fat diet and that’s not necessarily true. Not all but some fats are bad for you and some are actually good like omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids. -Omega-3 fatty acids in cold water fish, monounsaturated fatty acids in nuts and seeds -Good bc they will actually reduce inflammation and they can even moisturize your skin from the inside out 4. Avoid dairy -The issue is that it’s not made for people but for cows. This does not apply if you’re a baby and you’re drinking breast milk - that’s the perfect food for human baby as breast milk. -Regular dairy is not necessarily good for humans bc we react to it and we create inflammation in our bodies from that. A lot of people react to casein, which is in dairy. And so many people in the world are also lactose intolerant. -Not recommended if you’ve got acnes and the 1st thing want to do is going off of dairy 5. Eat fermented food -Basically food that are chock full of probiotics, which basically are beneficial bacteria for your gut. The gut skin acid and there’s a connection between the health of your gut and the health of your skin. So unhealthy gut often will find inflammation and issues with the qualities of their skin -Healthy gut = healthy microbiome. The microbiome are the trillions of bacteria that live inside our gut, sometimes microbiome can be unhealthy if you’re been on a lot of antibiotics or been eating a lot of bad food -> shows in your skin -Fermented food and probiotics will bring in healthy good bacteria to your intestines to your gut and that can then show in a healthier skin -Eat kefir, sauerkraut, miso, kimchi, kombucha,.. 6.. Don’t eat processed food -They're trans-fat in processed desserts and baked goods and they’re basically industrially modified vegetable or plant oils that are really inflammatory for your body and skin -So many processed foods are filled with sleeping oil and that is endemic in processed food. GMO food may have residues of glyphosate which is a potential carcinogen in them. -Also filled with different types of sugar 7. Eat dark chocolate and red wine -Dark choco good but dark and milk choco are very different. Milk choco is not good bc there’s too much sugar in it. Dark choco ideally more than 70% cacao to have a lower amount of sugar and higher in antioxidants which is great -Red wine: only 1 glass a day. The good thing is red wine contains resveratrol, 1 of the most powerful anti-aging that you can ingest. But when you start drinking more, the toxic effects of the alcohol start to outweigh the beneficial
I find for me that listening to my body is key. I don't like the idea of restricting myself completely of something. I believe in moderation. For example I do love cheese, but I don't overindulge or I will have gut problems, I've especially noticed this after the age of 50. This way I don't limit myself completely on certain foods I may like that aren't the best for me. Most of my food intake is the good stuff you mentioned, so my main focus is on that, but will sprinkle in something not so good here and there on occasion. :) Thanks for this video, it's very informative!
Sugar binds to collagen, which makes the collagen more brittle. Sugar also binds to testosterone receptors especially in Leydig cells thus preventing them from producing testosterone.
It also helps if you have fabulous genes. I am often mistaken for my daughter's sister and she is mistaken for her children's older sister. My aunt didn't look old until she was 90. She is currently 104 and she looks 80. We eat oatmeal, yogurt, meat, fish, wild game, all kinds of vegetables and loads of water. We do eat chocolate and oatmeal cookies. I would say moderation is the key.
I'm amazed at how much knowledge this Dr has about nutrition! I think he's possibly recommending an Asian diet? The old way of eating, not the westernised Asian diet is what I mean. Thank you Dr Youn, I just found your channel and have been watching all night long, your advice is appreciated!
'Gut skin access sounds like a magical word. Your skin reflects your gut health. It makes perfect sense since all the nutrients are released during digestion and are absorbed into the gut before they reach your organs and skin.
Dark chocolate used to be my fav. Now I can't tolerate it anymore after eating Amul dark chocolate. Now I get sick if i eat any chocolates, even the smells make me feel headache or nausea feeling.
I haven't had white rice in over 2yrs. I switched to quinoa mixed with brown rice. I put a little bit of garlic and lemon grass in there or anise seed for fragrance. It was rough staying away from rice but after that I'd say ill never go back to white rice again!
Excellent tips and advice. This picture was taken when I was 66. I dont have a single wrinkle due to healthy eating habits, exercise and 7hrs of sleep. 🙋♀️🌻

I’m in my 30s, vegan last 7 years (vegetarian before), teenager son, and I’m still asked to show ID when trying to buy beer ocassionally ( 18+ in my country). My diet is not perfect, but thank you for this video, I will improve it :)
I feel like Im in a Zoom class and enjoying it for once.
Dr. Im 47 and I look amazing 😉! Thanks for the great advice 🙏🌺🌺
How amazing? Still you have picture with a filter

I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. I watch all of them (not in a row 😳) they’re so informative. Thank you so much! 🙏💕
And again you're right about what's being discussed here ;) thank you!
youaremysong how do you apply the honey and the yogurt, do you leave it all night long?
@@thelmagarciaperalta9782 I leave it on within reasonable time 20mins. The honey I used is raw honey (manuka) I mean raw by saying that the honey is not been thru heat process. And basic 101 yogurt (no flavor) good luck!
youaremysong thank you! 😊
Please just have grape juice instead of red wine

Yes,your skin is wonderful, right teaching, its good that you are not fake.thank you
Totally agree about dairy. Avoiding dairy has changed my skin a lot for the better!
Absolutely. I battled with acne for more than 10 years when I was younger and never realized it was the dairy causing it. In schools they taught us that milk is essential part of our diet. They actually said that we will break our bones if we don´t drink it.
@@pumppuhaulikkomies My acne also became less inflamed since I started limiting soft drinks and dairy intake
Soda and oranges, got it. Thanks doc
"Don't eat: White rice"
Africans:
Morning: Rice 😀
Afternoon: Rice 😀
Night: Rice 😀
I know the feeling, Asians eat rice too, I suggest cutting down on it
Haha
Liar!!! Am African & we have lots of food stuffs besides rice. Infact rice in my country is considered kids' food🙄

They probably live a stressfreel life
1. Eat the rainbow
-Fruits and vegetables bc of the antioxidants and they’re often the actual pigments that make up the color of those fruits. So the wider the array of colors that you eat, the wider the array of pigments and antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals, which are 1 of the things really prematurely age us. Free radicals participate in the process called oxidation. Eating fruits and vegetables can help neutralize those free radicals to slow down that aging process
2. Don’t eat sugar
-The world is addicted to sugar and sugar prematurely age us in 2 ways
==Sugar will spike in our blood that causes insulin spikes because your pancreas will secrete insulin as a reaction to the sugar spikes, and when you get insulin spikes you can get inflammation. Chronic insulin spikes = chronic inflammation and inflammation is 1 of the driving forces of aging
==The glycation process: during glycation, when you eat sugar, those sugar molecules will actually bond to the collagen of your skin. It can cause collagen to become more kinked and cause your skin to actually to become prematurely aged
-avoid desserts, sugary sodas, sweet drinks, white bread, white rice, white pasta bc these are also turned to sugar in our bloodstream
3. Eat good fats
-2 types of fats: good and bad. Some people believe that all fat is bad for you and you should eat a low-fat diet and that’s not necessarily true. Not all but some fats are bad for you and some are actually good like omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids.
-Omega-3 fatty acids in cold water fish, monounsaturated fatty acids in nuts and seeds
-Good bc they will actually reduce inflammation and they can even moisturize your skin from the inside out
4. Avoid dairy
-The issue is that it’s not made for people but for cows.
-Not recommended if you’ve got acnes and the 1st thing want to do is going off of dairy
5. Eat fermented food
-Basically food that are chock full of probiotics, which basically are beneficial bacteria for your gut. The gut skin acid and there’s a connection between the health of your gut and the health of your skin. So unhealthy gut often will find inflammation and issues with the qualities of their skin
-Healthy gut = healthy microbiome. The microbiome are the trillions of bacteria that live inside our gut, sometimes microbiome can be unhealthy if you’re been on a lot of antibiotics or been eating a lot of bad food -> shows in your skin
-Fermented food and probiotics will bring in healthy good bacteria to your intestines to your gut and that can then show in a healthier skin
-Eat kefir, sauerkraut, miso, kimchi, kombucha,..
6.. Don’t eat processed food
-They're trans-fat in processed desserts and baked goods and they’re basically industrially modified vegetable or plant oils that are really inflammatory for your body and skin
-So many processed foods are filled with sleeping oil and that is endemic in processed food. GMO food may have residues of glyphosate which is a potential carcinogen in them.
-Also filled with different types of sugar
7. Eat dark chocolate and red wine
-Dark choco good but dark and milk choco are very different. Milk choco is not good bc there’s too much sugar in it. Dark choco ideally more than 70% cacao to have a lower amount of sugar and higher in antioxidants which is great
-Red wine: only 1 glass a day.
Really? Sugar binds to testosterone receptors?
I was feeling so dull but your video just worked like an energy booster for me✌🏻🔥
I’ll be sure to stock up on red wine then. The doctor told me to !🤣

WHAT A PRIVILEGE TO HAVE A PHYSICIAN OF DR YOUN'S QUALITY TO INFORM THE PUBLIC of the DEFECTS in the AMERICAN DIET.
Absolutely generous and helpful advice. Thank you so much. And you provided good examples of what we should eat. God Bless You!
Lol. How can you give tips and then say that it's genes? If it's genes then be quiet and don't pretend as if anything you did is what got you there.
@@ASmith-jn7kf it's a combination of genes and eating real food. No powders, junk food, or garbage. Lots of water.
Love your videos! Thank you, Doc Youn. ❤

Best video out there!! Thanks for sharing, doc!! ☺️
Watching while sipping on my glass of wine 🍷!
I am doing exactly the same thing my friend

Dark chocolate used to be my fav. Now I can't tolerate it anymore after eating Amul dark chocolate. Now I get sick if i eat any chocolates, even the smells make me feel headache or nausea feeling.
How refreshing! A dermatologist talking about DIET!! Thank you Dr. Youn!!
I haven't had white rice in over 2yrs. I switched to quinoa mixed with brown rice. I put a little bit of garlic and lemon grass in there or anise seed for fragrance. It was rough staying away from rice but after that I'd say ill never go back to white rice again!
This is what I was looking for😍
