I am an Asian he is right about we looking at how our parents, grandparents aged. My mother’s parents died in early ages but my father’s side lived little over 100 year’s /o my eating habits is good. I looked a bit younger than my age ( I was told) I am still running and play soccer with my grandchildren I exercise regularly I thanks God every day…!
I'm a nurse and I always see Asian ppl come to the hospital at very old ages like 80's and above....first time ever in a hospital, never had any medical problems....I'm always like what yall be eating ? Lol
I only clicked on this podcast because I have been an avid follower of Dr Youn for 10 years. Finding out that he rescues elderly dogs and cares for them just warms my heart for him and his wife even more❤ Out of my five doctors that I have been following, he a bit different because he is so silly and fun in some of his videos. I adore his sense of humor. 😅
Omg! He’s is just amazing I just can’t believe much I love this guy! He is super human! How did I get this far in life without all his wisdom! Ok, Let’s just kiss his butt a bit more.
so much more respect for this doctor - first after hearing him on this podcast but 10000000x more after hearing what his wife and him do for elderly dogs 💜 amazing
Where we live, there's been six (6) dogs dropped off right beside our in the past two (2) years. We've re-homed all of them except the last one, I kept him. He was the worst. He was starving, had lost his fur and was very weak. He thanked me for his food (by giving me his paw), and still does every time I feed him ❤
I am disabled, 53 years old, and live a very sedentary life. I have used a fat tracking scale for 2 decades. I informed my doctor my muscle mass was dangerously low. They responded with: “since you can’t exercise there is nothing you can do, so maybe you should stop tracking” I ignored that and figured out how to maintain the muscle mass I have without using hours of exercise. I’m actually up 5%.
@lih1352 I have learned to use the knowledge a doctor has a not be to upset when they have no idea what to do. I have been doing well finding the treatments that work for me. So I manly use doctors to verify there is not negative side affects I have not acknowledged. I researched what they do for people in the hospital for 6 weeks.
One of the few interviews where the guest gives so much free information without asking to buy his book. My favorite part was at the end, when he mentioned that "we must be grateful", "what motivates you in life, what gives you fulfillment in life", and the fact that he and his wife are rescuing senior dogs says how kind he is. I've been vegan for about 43 years, way before of this boom of plant-based diet. Now I'm reaching my 60s and feel great, go to the gym, feel full of energy,...Everybody thinks that I'm in my 30s, lol Thanks!
Wow ive been pescitarian almost 5years, And you is vegan how do you feel your muscles because we are all know we have substitute foods in every aspects of diet, is their any difference of your movement physically strenght like that
@@annhope9255 Currently, I'm 59 yo. I don't have any muscles issues. Last year, there was an icy patch on the streets and I stepped there, I twisted my ankle very badly. The doctor (I was affraid that I broke something) said that I didn't have any fracture, just the joins suffered and that if I won't recover in about two months, I might have to go under surgery. I said to myself, NO WAY! I started taking some glucosamine/chondroitin supplement (750/600 mg) and I started recovering in about two weeks, full recovered in a month. Some people said that these supplements don't work, but it worked for me. Regarding my exercises, I had never tried to gain muscle mass, but I like to keep my muscles' tone. Nothing wrong with a jelly-like body, but it's not for me. I feel in good shape, light, and move without any issues. My diet: I eat a lot, A LOT of salads (kale, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, crucifers, sprouts, avocado (if seasoning),...I don't put salad dressings, just lemon, sometimes balsamic vinegar). I eat a lot of legumes (lentils, black beans, chick peas (in hummus),...). I like potato salad (cooked potato in pieces, celery, lemon, and salt, YUMMY, YUMMY). Nuts with raisins as snacks (if I have time I made cookies with them). MY BEST SECRET: spirulina and/or chlorella in vegan yoghurt, the best supplements for hair growth and skin tone. We all will age, but the thing is how we will do it. Diet and exercise are the key to have a healthy life, but been grateful and help others (humans and animals) are the most important factor to live a fulfilling life. Best wishes in your life journey! Possibly the section beginning 14:00 is the most valuable. Sugar in the diet is destructive to the skin. Don’t wait to learn this until you’re my age (73)- give up sugar NOW, whatever age you are. I’ve had some help from PRP treatments (Vampire facial), because I saw what it did for my doctor. Dermaflash is nice for maintenance and it gets rid of those annoying hairs that so many older women get. I’ve never been one to put my faith in face creams, although I am currently experimenting with castor oil. Months of collagen powder did nothing. My skin currently is looking pretty good. Carb restriction minimizes acne.
@Into_the_Woods77 Fruits are great for skin health.I would think the same for honey its natural not added sugar. Processed sugar is the worst and so addicting.
@@SaraZadroznyit depend how much honey and fruits you eat. What exessive that not healthy . Keep carbs low, natural sugars eat a bit, no processed sugar and you'll be rescued of diabetis and followed health problems.
The concept that darker skins don’t need sunblock or sunscreen is so ridiculous. Glad the Dr talked about this. I am olive skin Latina and I get blisters if I don’t apply sunscreen or sunblock so yes regardless of your skin color it is important to put it on!
LOL I'm white, reddish brown hair and with some freckles. I ever used sun blockers. When the sun was too much, I went in the shade or in the pool or ocean. My skin wants sun light to stay healthy.
Is it just me, or does Dr Youn seem much more passionate about health + longevity, than what almost seems like the "vanity industry" that he's in? Just seems like his heart strings are pulling him in a more quality-of-life direction. :)

Please to meet you! I have worked in health care all my life, I am a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Which mostly takes care of the elderly, but also different departments depending where I have worked in. Hospitals, Nursing homes, private homes. Well one Hospital I was at, my agency sent me to take care of a 93 yr.old lady. (She was having brain surgery the following day.) I noticed as we were walking, that her skin was so vibrant and taunt,it was absolutely beautiful!! And I said to her," forgive me, but I have to tell you your skin is absolutely beautiful!!" YOU must have good gene's" (I had already been with her for 6 months prior) So she had told me, of course it is diet. But that her father was THE ONE WHO INVENTED THE FORMULA FOR " PONDS COLD CREAM!!" And this lovely lady was 93! But didn't maybe in her 70!!! Now I will tell you, my mother also told me to NEVER TO WEAR MAKE-UP. Maybe a little eye makeup and lipstick, but you don't need foundations. And DON'T PULL DOWN on your skin. And use PONDS COLD CREAM. So since I was 12 I use the PONDS CLEASER "CREAM" and then the "PONDS COLD CREAM". I have used these faithfully EVERY DAY. My son will come visit now and then. And he will get close to my face and say to me" when are you going to age??" I AM NOW 69! Granted I am now just getting the "little lines" not wrinkles though. And I think I could use a little tuck! Lol but I'll never forget that beautiful lady who's father invented the formula for "PONDS COLD CREAM" When I have gone in the hospital myself, I have a chronic illness now. I have been asked what do I use on my skin because it's so soft and healthy looking, and I tell them POND! I have had alot of C.N.A. say they have switched to PONDS COLD CREAM! ( I was amazed) Now, there is something I must also share with you. So as I was saying, I am a retired CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT. And one of the main goals in health care is SKIN INTEGRITY FOR THE ELDERLY. Well in nursing homes I used to see that they would use BAR SOAP. Which would leave the skin dry. Some patients are on blood thinners. So during morning care I would wash with warm water and lotions to the skin. But the other aids just used soap. So one day we had the administrator come and was observing the care and she noticed the skin of one lady and she asked, who did the care? The nurse said I did. She called me to the office and said" I noticed your patients skin is always so Healthy and clean looking. What is your secrets for this. And I told her SOAP THAT IS USED HERE IS DRYING OUT THESE PEOPLE'S SKIN.I SIMPLY USE LOTION! ( the homes can't afford lotions so EVERYTHING FROM SOAP, SHAMPOOS, TOILET PAPERS IS VERY ROUGH AND DRY!) EVEN at bed time they sleep better.( I have worked all shifts) . People don't realize ,that THE NURSES HAVE BUDGETS where ever they are needed. And that ,for the most part isn't in there. So my administrator, PUT IT IN THE BUDGET! Thank you for your time.
full disclaimer, I think Dr. Youn is a pretty good person (how good I d k but over the years he has been a good guy) and being good really just help ppl stay healthy.
Great interview. I recall reading a study where the conclusion was that a lot of the difference in collagen study results was down to the size of the collagen used. Smaller being better if i remember correctly.
Can vouch anecdotally for hydrolised collagen peptides. Started taking it on doctors advice for a skin condition - solved that problem, and improved the overall quality of my skin a ridiculous amount. I'm 48 and I feel like my skin "de-aged" about 15 years in a couple of months.

Also so respectful. Definitely subscribing this channel is good!❤
Excellent information. I grew up in South America and many people age well, my own siblings are aging well. My mother and grandmother used pure gelatin as part of their diet for the skin, and I use to take some up until I left home. I am in my late sixties and my skin looks ok for my age, but I will start consuming it again. I am still thinking about getting my eje lids done.
Fabulous! This doc is ahead of his time and way ahead of other, med-slinging docs. Don't be afraid of grass-fed beef! GF beef is loaded w fat soluble vitamins, B vitamins, minerals, electrolytes.
Beef isn't an healthy meat at all. Grass-fed beef contain anecdotical amount of DHA/EPA, so this isn't even a good source. Red meat increases your chance to develop colorectal cancer. Chicken and fish are better options to get a load of proteins and nutrients.
I started carnivore diet in December and never felt so good 🙌🏼. Grass fed and finished is a whole other level of amazing meat ♥️. Gonna be 57 in August and I feel like a teen now. No more knee pain, brain fog, aches and pains either. I can sprint now to target any visceral fat I have. Lost 30 lbs too 🙌🏼.

@thenomadicpople The Zena liquid Collagen ..has 2500 mg of Varisol Collagen Peptide (from Europe) dble blind Clinical tested.. is Muuuch Smaller than hydrolized collagen so it goes to cellular level..ie. waaay more effective than any "powder" which is usually "incomplete protein", powders usually have at least 10-20x Sodium (can cause water weight, BPressure issues) & do NOT dissolve, Very poor absorption into body. Trying to dissolve powder in hot coffee destroys the collagen (& yr coffee) & waste of $$. (Zena is avail in most Costco at amazing good price..$30 for 3 mos supply) Amazing results w hair, skin, nails, also noticeable lubrication, improvement & regeneration of all joints, flexible, ligaments, injury (prevention) in areas like shlders, rotator cuff, knees, planar facitis, etc.
If you haven't done it before, and you wear makeup and/or physical sunscreen or any sunscreen really...try oil cleaning first and then wash with your regular cleanser. I have very acne prone skin but i have not had irritation with any of the various cleansing oils i have tried. I recommend asian skin care products especially sunscreen😊
Okay this made me want to book a consult with Dr. Youn. I would LOVE to hear what he has to say about my skin. I think it needs work, but I get so many compliments on how clear it is.
I lived in South Korea in 1984 and 85. I lost 40 lbs without even trying. The only fast food there at the time was Pizza Hut and Wendy’s. I rarely ate at these places. When I returned home the weight started coming back. I really started paying attention to what is in our food - we shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to eat healthy. It is sad that so many addictive additives are in our food. Our bodies don’t know what to do with it. So it gets stored in our liver and tissues. I hope at some point we return to nature. Thank you for this interview. BTW I’m 59 and prescription free. 😊

If you want to eat fruit to replace sugar. Try eating fruit with a low glysemic index. Your best foods you can eat are non processed foods. I.e. fruit and vegetables. Refined sugar is an empty calorie. This means calories with no nutrients. Vegetables are the best thing to eat. I wonder if Marijuana is as bad for you as alcohol? A lot of people substitute alcohol with it!
In terms of fruits berries is the best sub for sugar craving. I can’t totally avoid it but I don’t use white sugar I use good grade of brown rock sugar.
fruits are great in moderation compared to other sweet foods but if your issue is sugar cravings, I would focus on maintaining a stable blood sugar instead to reduce cravings
Kudos on a very informative podcast! Thanks for all the great info! So super that you rescue small dogs! I'm actually more afraid of the yippy, snippy little ones & prefer the bigger calmer dogs, lol 🐕 Although, I am thinking a smaller dog might be easier to exercise as I get older...🐩 Where I ride horses with my friends, I do see people running their big dogs in a large area besides their cars... Not fond of that method however! My neighbor bought an electric bike to run his dog, that might work better. I think you can better gauge how tired the dog is because you're closer to them... 🏃🏻♀️🐶 🐕 ❤️

Now I'm reaching my 60s and feel great, go to the gym, feel full of energy,...Everybody thinks that I'm in my 30s, lol
Thanks!
Thank YOU!

Wow ive been pescitarian almost 5years,
And you is vegan how do you feel your muscles because we are all know we have substitute foods in every aspects of diet, is their any difference of your movement physically strenght like that
@@annhope9255 Currently, I'm 59 yo.

Do you mean processed sugar? I like to use honey.
@Into_the_Woods77 Fruits are great for skin health.I would think the same for honey its natural not added sugar. Processed sugar is the worst and so addicting.
Castor oil❤
Dates!❤
I also love microneedling for pigmentation, collagen stimulaniin etc
This was great!! Thank you Dr Youn. I bought your book & just started reading it. I love your dog rescue!❤
For everyone reading this, finding the banned book called “the hidden herbs” by anette ray should be your top priority
started reading it yesterday too
I finished that book 2 weeks ago and I can say that is amazing book. Would also recommend it.

(She was having brain surgery the following day.)
I noticed as we were walking, that her skin was so vibrant and taunt,it was absolutely beautiful!!
( I was amazed)
Now, there is something I must also share with you.
@@EverForwardRadio Chase be honest, you think doc is looking great. Don't worry actually be more wholesome you will get there too ;)

Team grass fed all day!
@@EverForwardRadio
Damn right!

What’s the collagen brand Dr. Anthony recommends?
@thenomadicpople The Zena liquid Collagen
..has 2500 mg of Varisol Collagen Peptide (from Europe) dble blind Clinical tested.. is Muuuch Smaller than hydrolized collagen so it goes to cellular level..ie. waaay more effective than any "powder" which is usually "incomplete protein", powders usually have at least 10-20x Sodium (can cause water weight, BPressure issues) & do NOT dissolve, Very poor absorption into body. Trying to dissolve powder in hot coffee destroys the collagen (& yr coffee) & waste of $$. (Zena is avail in most Costco at amazing good price..$30 for 3 mos supply)
Amazing results w hair, skin, nails, also noticeable lubrication, improvement & regeneration of all joints, flexible, ligaments, injury (prevention) in areas like shlders, rotator cuff, knees, planar facitis, etc.

Can I substitute sugar with a fruit when craving sugar??? I have difficulty in getting rid of sugar completely?
Substitute with Monk Fruit as for sweetener.
I'm actually more afraid of the yippy, snippy little ones & prefer the bigger calmer dogs, lol 🐕 Although, I am thinking a smaller dog might be easier to exercise as I get older...🐩
Where I ride horses with my friends, I do see people running their big dogs in a large area besides their cars... Not fond of that method however!
My neighbor bought an electric bike to run his dog, that might work better. I think you can better gauge how tired the dog is because you're closer to them... 🏃🏻♀️🐶 🐕 ❤️
It's sheer laziness to run a poor dog at the side of the car.

Raised in the Midwest from midwestern parents and grandparents. I started my health journey in my 20s after moving away to a healthier outdoorsy state. You would never know I am related to my parents due to my choices in diet and lifestyle. People think I look 10-15 years younger than I am.
Too many people in the Midwest drive everywhere. Even just to go a few blocks. I need to get out. What state did you move to?
Yay for MICHIGAN! What town??
@EverForwardRadio: Many thanks😊
