To be fair dogs/wolves are absolutely awful to fight in every game and I have a lot of traumatic fights to prove it: Dragon age Origins: got ganked by 30 wolves while traveling to the mage tower. Lost all progress because I forgot to save. Kingdoms of Amalur: stunlocked by a wolf while fighting and Ettin which made me die in the most stupid way. Dark souls trilogy: the Capra demon. Any other fight against dogs. The four legged skeletons in the tomb of giants (they're dogs in my book). Sif broke my heart. Sekiro: the stupid ninja that summons dogs in the second memory of Hirata State. I hate those ninjas as much as I hate videogame dogs. Elden Ring: The Red wolf in the moonlight altar. Most fights against dogs. CoD world at war: a friend got the dogs kill streak and completely annihilated me. Dragon's dogma: the hellhounds are the most horrible dogs ever made. Can describe how infuriating they are.

As I played thru elden ring and saw the monster dogs and monster birds. I kept thinking about hybrid dogs and crows from bloodborne. I wanted to see a giant hybrid dog
Well the other dogs are from a dying world of a fading flame, while the abyssal dog comes from the strengthening and growing abyss, so it makes sense it looks relatively normal compared to its undead counterparts

Interesting thing to note about the Hunting Dogs in Bloodborne is that the spikes don't seem to be emerging from the dog but instead is bound to them by rope and cloth. It's as if the few yharnamites who regularly hunted the beasts tried to give their dogs a fighting chance by making it difficult for a beast to grab them or bite them as they would be met by a mouthful of spikes
I tried once to compile every souls dog, in Bloodborne there are more dogs, there is one different model for the dogs in yahar'gul, the dogs with crow heads, the invocation dog (the red ones), the darker dogs from the dlc and the fish dogs also from the dlc. You could also count the watchdog. In ds2 I would count the dog-rats. (yes I spent more time with this than it deserved)
I would also count the wolves from DS3 and any dog/wolf boss in the games like Sif, Royal rat authority, Aava, Lud and Zallen, Gravetender's greatwolf etc

The fire attack dogs from Blight Town were always my favorite. They were always the most creepy and most immersive monsters to me. But it was always a drag to fight them. Because they never really breathed fire too much. The one thing that made them truly threatening and aesthetically terrifying was their fire breath and they just preferred to lunge at me.
I was thinking to myself that the Sekiro dogs look the most normal and the shinobi dog is even kinda cute, but I was not prepared for the monstrosity that is the palace dog. I don't remember ever seeing those. Maybe I just never saw them close up?

In the elden ring DLC, i’d like to see a well-fed dog. Just one well fed dog.
The red wolves look pretty well fed. And because they belong to Radagon/some champion they are effectively doggos.
And one mimic chest, just one.
