I've got invaded by a girl (maybe a guy, but the name and the character was feminine... whatever) two times this week in Dark Souls II. What a weird person, wearing clown like clothes and using a dagger, a staff and a moonlight greatsword. I killed it at the first time, but at the second, the battle endured for quite some time it got boring. Why? dude was just running around doing nothing, and I could not progress in the game while he/she was there. And when i was about to do something, the dude trolled and attaked, but when I went to fight him, he just got away to do nothing again. I ended up dying, cause he used some weird ass magic.

This brings back fond memories of terrorizing new players while invading at soul level 1. If they were polite I would drop them goodies, but most just got a face full of lightning axe
I used to invade like this when I was bored. I'd just invade to watch someone clear a map and then wave them before the boss fog gate. It would not do anything _menacingly_
I really wish Fromsoftware had just made upgrades not matter in PvP. Just set the damage parameters to a default upgrade level for all armor and weapons, and early game invasions wouldn't be nearly as nightmarishly balanced as they've been. That, and the Estus use upgrades in future games, where the host may have 3 charges healing 200 HP and the invader 7 healing 1000 HP, were such easy things to make more balanced....

Its genuinely astounding how in 15 years fromsoft's blithering incompetence at balancing their multiplayer hasnt improved a SINGLE iota, even in Elden Ring twinks can still grab endgame DLC items SL1 with no upgrades and harass players starting in limgrave. 7 Max Flasks All 4 Talisman slots unlocked all with the most powerful talisman varients, like Shard of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield Late Game Flask of physic combo's A nigh unlimited arsenal of consumable items, Like frenzied flame stones that can just heal you for free, golden vow, lulling branches, starlight shards, boiled crab, perfumes, giant pots, and ashes of war that are toxic regardless of your level like swift slash or whatever flavor of the week is haunting the latest patch. vs Players with like 5 +2 flasks 2 talisman slots (probably 5% HP and whatever random cave talisman they found first) a flask of physic probably still dedicated to restoring half their HP at best because they havent fought any avatars has maybe 3 firepots if they even acknowledge crafting in the first place, the one exalted flesh they got from alexander, and ruin fragments they dont know what to do with. And still using their default ash of war.

And I wanna say, even normal invasions are already cancer enough while in open world, but this was just abominable. Thankfully I know how to play the game a little bit so I could fight an uphill battle against the juiced invaders while my buddy just watched, but it was so insanely long and boring that we were better off just doing whatever as if the invade wasn't happening, or just jump off a cliff to get it over with faster. Needless to say, we really quickly switched to seamless, which was an altogether more enjoyable experience with no invisible walls, no latency, and no invasions. And then these guys wonder why online on pc is dead.

If an invader has upgraded armor and 99 humanity you can barely even scratch him without upgraded weapons. And his DLC spells let him one tap new characters at low levels and without upgrades. That's why you should never be online in DS1 unless you are playing on a completed PvP build.

You do know that invasions are paired by level? Some of the spells he wielded were ng+, meaning he beat the game while staying at a low enough level and weapon reinforcement to be paired with players at the beginning of the game. One of the spells he used was also locked behind Artorias which is considered one of the harder bossfights in the game, even more so when you have very little stats, since you can't knock him out of his damage buff.
@@skye6184You actually can stop artorias' buff even when underleveled, because staggering him is based off the (flat) poise damage of your weapon type, and not actual health damage.

Yeah, made that mistake too many times myself One time I was trying to help a friend through the place, then we get invaded by a twink But not as friendly as this one, he immediately ran towards us with the Lifehunt scythe and did that "Well, what is it" shit after we both died in one hit
This is why DS2's soul memory is almost a better system than level-based matchmaking, all it needed was to lose soul memory when you die and get it back when you pick up those souls so you don't end up with higher soul memory than someone who's used and who has the same amount of souls as you (and probably some numerical tweaks)

As a guy that has over 1700 hrs in ds1r i can understand the invaders position wanting to do low level invasions with a character you built to be lvl 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and you go through new game + with him and are bored.

can't be two-handed normally like here and thus is gliched out (hits at the start do no damage, endurance isn't lowered when hit, however backstabs still work with it), useful against gankers used this way
Thanks to the great invasion system of this beautiful game, I can run around at level 20 and one-shot backstab noobies in plague city. I destroy about 50-60 noobies a day.

Get a really strong weapon early on (Great scythe, Black knight halberd, black knight greatsword, uchigatana) or don't go human to interact with these pos. Some red dudes can be nice to new players, some are asses.
@@LuisCarlos-oo9im if you wield a weapon which can be 2-handed (but you're currently 1-handing it), roll, press the button to 2-hand and switch to dark hand (all during the roll), you can also wield it in both hands. Damage still goes through like with 1 hand (80% damage reduction all across the parameters) but you don't get any stamina damage at all, great for gankers with twop

This is why DS2's soul memory is almost a better system than level-based matchmaking, all it needed was to lose soul memory when you die and get it back when you pick up those souls so you don't end up with higher soul memory than someone who's used and who has the same amount of souls as you (and probably some numerical tweaks)

Omfg people in this comment section who are saying that the host "deserved it" are such fucking losers. So you are saying that host shouldn't have attacked the invader because the invader was "probably friendly", really? A friendly invader wouldn't fkn kill him.
Invader's entire purpose is to kill the host, do you want to keep this guy in your world? If he isn't attacking you now doesn't mean that he isn't going to backstab you in the moment he deem funny. So of course you want to get rid of this guy.
And here, this guy is a newbie and the invader didn't start attacking him immediately, so the host didn't know how much damage would he take from him. If I was the host I would have assumed that the invader have some kind of vitality build. I wouldn't know that I am actually at mercy of this invader from the very beginning and the only hope I have is maybe this guy will decide to not kill me.
I wouldn't know that because I am a noob who doesn't know what pvp is like in this game, what the meta is etc.

As a guy that has over 1700 hrs in ds1r i can understand the invaders position wanting to do low level invasions with a character you built to be lvl 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and you go through new game + with him and are bored.

Right yer. I’m sure that guy just plays around with everyone… specifically new or low level players while he is completely twinked tf out. Telling people to just play offline solves NOTHING. Being online has a lot of positives like seeing player ghosts and messages/bloodstaines. The world feels more alive with those elements. Sad zit covered geeks who just twink themselves and have a 100% chance to kill players like the ones in the video ultimately ruin the game and are part of the reason why pvp is so divisive in these games.

can't be two-handed normally like here and thus is gliched out (hits at the start do no damage, endurance isn't lowered when hit, however backstabs still work with it), useful against gankers used this way

Thanks to the great invasion system of this beautiful game, I can run around at level 20 and one-shot backstab noobies in plague city. I destroy about 50-60 noobies a day.

this game is so hard they should make it easy to win i cant believe your opponents can be so much stronger than you thats way to difficult no one can win against enemies that kill you so fast this game will not be popular if they dont patch this out or add boosts to the shop
Get a really strong weapon early on (Great scythe, Black knight halberd, black knight greatsword, uchigatana) or don't go human to interact with these pos. Some red dudes can be nice to new players, some are asses.

no cheats here, only a little glitch that allows dark hand being wielded in both hands (accessable for everyone)
@@MrMashroom What glitch is that? One day I ran into someone who did the same thing but he was taking the fair damage.
@@LuisCarlos-oo9im if you wield a weapon which can be 2-handed (but you're currently 1-handing it), roll, press the button to 2-hand and switch to dark hand (all during the roll), you can also wield it in both hands. Damage still goes through like with 1 hand (80% damage reduction all across the parameters) but you don't get any stamina damage at all, great for gankers with twop
