    Much appreciation for the detail! This is my first camcorder and I bought it to record long-session painting videos. Great camera but wow too many functions to figure out on my own, so I really appreciate the detail you gave for almost every function. I'm pretty well clued in now and will be back to take a tutorial on audio next. Thank you! 🎨

    Thanks for the video. You put a lot of work in it and I learned from it, especially about the G50. One tip: if you don't know what a certain function means, do not make anything up. That's not necessary. Plus you could bring confusion to the viewers. Subjects like Non Drop Frames, Color Bars, Timecode, 1KHz reference tone... Just admit that you're not familiar with those and skip it. Users who need these functions will know how to handle with them.

      Thanks for your constructive criticism, I always welcome that, and if I make a mistake in a video I usually mentioned the corrections on the description. As I am not perfect and I learn new things everyday. I am glad to have a kind and informed critic like you to encourage me in making better and more informed videos. Be safe my friend!

    DF and NDF after the timecode option means Drop Frame or Non Drop Frame timecode. In DF Drop Frame the time code will drop one frame after 33 sec if I can remember well. This is to compensate the 29.97 fps. In NDF Non Drop Frame mode the timecode does not drop a frame.

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  3 года назад

      Thanks for your input, that is very important to know since the DF will give you a natural motion blur for cinematic footage.

    You mention in this video about doing a part 2 specifically addressing the custom buttons on the HF G50 which I was really looking forward to. Even with the manual I've been unable to figure it out. Have looked through your history and can't find that vid. Have I missed something? Hope you get around to doing that as I have come across no one else who has either. Thanks for your great stuff.

    Just like your other videos, very helpful in getting me to understand the functions of this great camera. My only question is what do you think of the stabilization feature. I have walked around while recording and it seems jumpy. Did I miss something (i.e., how to turn it on, etc.). I find this camera is nothing like my GoPro when it comes to stabilization.

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  Год назад

      I agree the GoPro has better stabilization, but that is optical Stabilization by using a Wide Angle lens on the GoPro. Most GoPro cameras don't have any Mechanical Gimbal stabilization. So to get the best result from this camera to mimic the GoPro, you can do two things:
      1. Don't use the Zoom Function on the Camera and let the image be as wide as possible.
      2. For even more stable image add an Add-On Wide Angle lens on it

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  2 года назад

      You are very welcome. About the LCD/Viewfinder, I know it is a shame. My older Canon VIXIA could do it, but not the new G50 or my G60. I think they did that to reduce battery load, since you can only use one or the other. However it should allow people to use both if they are operating the camera through an AC Adapter.

      Hi, the battery which comes with this is a joke, it only runs the camera for an hour at 4K, and maybe 1:20 at 1080P. So I bought the extended battery which gives me almost 4 hours of 4K recording time. This is the one I bought from eBay, www.ebay.com/itm/383888605996

  • @derronhopkinsstudent3655

    Great video, when you are recording and you hit the start/stop record button does it reset the time? If I need a 5 minute or less video for a presentation, will the person recording me have to remember the time whenever they hit that button during filming because I messed up or whatever. I never know how long my videos are with my Sony 4K until I edit the video because I wouldn't remember the time when I had to stop filming.

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  3 года назад +1

      Every time that you record it gives you the time of that specific clip that you are recording it does not count all the previous clips that were recorded before. In other words every start/stop resets the timer. The only way for you to see your total recording time is to see how much time is left on the memory card which is a rough estimate. The smaller the memory card the more accurate remaining time estimate you will have.

      Sorry I missed that, so you playback your recorded footage you need to slide the top switch to Media and then you will have the play control buttons on the LCD Screen.

      The average DSLR today will have an ISO range of 100 to 25,600 or so, but there are some that top out as high as 409,600. ... Gain on a camcorder is usually just three levels (low, medium, and high) that allow varying sensitivity of the sensor, which is essentially exactly what ISO is.
