    LeBron earned the MVP but he was orchestrating the offense and just seen a stat where he went 27-30 at the rim. That's insane. I think Bron deserves credit for continuing to try to get Steph going in the first 4 games when he just couldn't buy one. That's going to get overlooked but go watch those games ... Bron is the only one while Steph is 0-3 and etc still calling plays for him and setting him up. Steph's run in that 4th was probably the best 2-3 min stretch Olympic basketball will ever see. INSANE

    I think that we forget how the game is being played now... the league has gotten so into the entertainment phase with everything being about offense. These world games are different as far as how they allow defenders to get into the offensive guy.. that makes people who aren't use to that play a bit different. These aren't 120 point games.. so we seen plays that are normally fouls in the nba weren't called in the Olympics. It caused to's and tough shots.

    • @Earl_E_Burd
      @Earl_E_Burd Месяц назад +6

      They basically are 120 pt games. USA scored over 100 in the first four games. With it being 40 minutes instead of 48, the math would be 100pts * 48/40 = 120.
      The 122 they put up on Brazil would be like 146 points in a 48 min. game. Everything else I agree with. Foul merchant behaviors like when Embiid would revert back into his flopping habits weren't working. Some entitled superstar behaviors were put in check. LeBron crying to the refs since he's used to running the NBA.

    Bill Simmons missed on a very specific point in his assessment of players adjusting when their physical peaks degrade, regarding Stephen Curry. The off ball movement IS what Curry figured out to maximize his longevity after he couldn't move like he used to. Sure his ball handling is pretty, but we rarely see him beat someone with speed like we used to before 2017. So no, Steph doesn't have to figure out how to get by without that. This transition is the same one Ray Allen made after his injuries and old age. He was 39 running the same plays Steph is now, albeit playing less minutes per game. We saw the transition before our eyes. Every year, handling the ball less, not relying on those explosive changes of direction a guard needs to create separation. He gives a few dribbles and hands it back to the Forward on duty so he can relocate now.

    USA better watch out in the LA edition for Serbia and France. Jokic should still be at a high level then with a developed Jovic and possibly Topic as his helpers. Bogey can be the veteran sixth man.

    The thing I find most interesting about curry’s Olympic performance is the fact that the team as a whole avoided passing him the ball in the early rounds. Go back and watch the early games, the games that the outcome wasn’t in doubt and look how many times curry is wide open waving his hands calling for the ball. It’s obvious that the team was intentionally keeping the ball out of his hands which in turn has the idiots in the media saying he struggled. If you know anything at all about curry you’d know the brother can go 2 for 11 and erupt for 9 of 10 threes at any given time. He didn’t struggle they intentionally passed him up when he was wide open unguarded.
    But when the game is important when the rest of the team is struggling in the medal rounds who do they look to to bail their sorry butts out….curry of course. When the rest of the team thought “ we’re about to get eliminated” than they pass him the ball and let him do what he does. With supposed to be super stars, supposed to be goats, and self proclaimed greatest who ever lived can’t get it done “who you gonna call”? Not ghost busters they call a real Goat not Durant, not lebron, they call the real MVP to do what they can’t do so lebron ought to be ashamed and told everyone the truth the real MVP the one who got it done when it was needed not 1 time but both important games was Curry. Congratulations USA and congratulations to the true mvp the one and only true goat of shooters Wardell Curry !
