I'll go further and state that nowadays offensive positioning on the floor is so fluid and expansive that the old "five position" BB descriptions hardly apply -- you know -- point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center. Nowitzki and others pioneered the big man 3-point shot...Steph made a new kind of guard...Pippen first, and then LeBron charted the "point forward," and so on (Man, LeBron can play any position!). It makes it hard to compare NBA eras and determine "top 5" or "top 10" players ever. Shots made from behind the center court line should be worth at least 4 pts, maybe even 5. How can it still be 3 pts when it's way beyond the 3 pt line? I believe this should be the next rule change, or evolution, in order to make the game more exciting. Suddenly, a 4 or 5 pt lead isn't a two possession game any longer. Imagine all the insanity this would create in the final seconds of a close game. We'll see how guys & coaches adapt to it, especially Steph.
People who say Steph isn't a Goat are clueless and definitely not real basketball fans. The only other players that had such an immense impact on the game itself were Jordan, Kobe and LeBron. And now Steph is one of them. Steph turned GSW into one of the most profitable teams in the NBA - a frigging dynasty from a team that used to be mediocre at best! Steph changed the NBA single handedly. Steph changed the frigging game of basketball, again - single handedly. How many people can you name that have done the same throughout the history of basketball. Yeah that's right - Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
I remember when we played the clippers in the playoffs like five, six years ago and he had zero points in the first half and finished the game with 33 points and we won. I’m telling you right now that man is not human
I've watched both Magics and Currys whole careers. Magic was my favorite player growing up and Curry has been my favorite since Magic retired. The craziest thing is that they both completely revolutionized the way the game is played. Magic was the greatest passer that has ever played and Curry is the best shooter. The 2 biggest things that comparisons impossible is that their playing styles are so different that you can't directly compare stats, and also the rules have changed so much that the game is completely different. I mean imagine Magic running showtime now, that would be crazy. On the flip side, everybody thinks the old NBA would have been to tough physically for Steph, but I disagree. There were lots of really successful off the ball shooters then. Allen Houston, Dale Ellis, Ray Allen... but the thing that they were more Klay Thompsonish. I think about what would have defenses done with Steph runnin around knockin down 38ft'ers off the dribble at 40% in the age of the dominant big man. There wasn't anybody even close to that level of shooter in the league then.
He’s on top of the mountain and that is one hell of an accomplishment, for his size, but the doubters motivated him, would he be so great if he was bigger idk? I think his size was his biggest strength, he stayed humble and that’s a super power, being a good man to go with it means more then the stats
He is working harder now than he did 10 years ago. I think Steph has a deep respect for basketball history. He undestands it may be decades before some of his records are broken. He is embracing longevity and no reduction in his drive, determination, sacrifice. All for the good of the team. Team First. Championships. Relentless. He will likely get another.
The only short guy in the top ten. Mostly six foot nine and above. The only exceptions: Curry, Jordon and Kobe. Really really tough for a guy six foot two to dominate in today's NBA.
Steph is still so underrated .. this man is the best shooter god ever created .. he’s done it all and it’s past time people put respect on my man’s name
Steph is the greatest player at the pg position of all time. Not the best traditional point guard but he’s most effective running off the ball. He can facilitate but he’s the greatest shooter to ever exist with a motor that we’ve never seen before.

Well it is the same like saying Curry is a top 10 player...... why? best defenders in GSW team first championship, first green, second Klay and third Iguadala, according to GSW fans Iguadala stopped Lebron and that's why Iguadala won finals MVP, because if Iguadala didn't stop Lebron, Cavs would have won, then Iguadala gave Curry his first championship right there. Second and third GSW championship, best defenders , first green, second KD, third Klay, fourth Iguadala Curry has been carried defensively his whole career. What is the most pressure playoffs series? the finals right? the whole basketball world have all their eyes on you and also it's the championship series, Kobe's fans AND Curry's fans try to diminish, finals MVP, why? the most pressure playoff series it's the finals series and it's the championship series a d Kobe only won 2 MVPs on the most pressure playoff series, the finals and Curry only won one MVP on the most pressure playoff series and championship series that diminish their legacies, both Kobe and Curry.
I’ll never take anything away from Kyrie , to me his game is more like AI , than Steph’s is . But to me Steph is just special , his shooting ability is a given , but his passes are insane , his worth ethic , his ability to stay in control during chaos , he’s humble , classy , and an all around good dude . What more can you ask from a person ? Kyrie is great , Steph stands alone .
Steph Curry is on the short list of greatest of all time. For now on the greatest of all time list needs to be in position categories. PG, SG, SF, PF, C. He is the greatest PG of all time.
As much as I love Magic, I can't not put Steph above him. Steph is one of the 5 greatest players I've ever seen. Take any bad NBA team you can imagine from any era and, if you could replace only the PG, would it be with Magic or Steph and for me it's Steph 100% of the time. There's few other players period I would take in such a situation and that list includes the likes of Shaq and Jordan.

I saw a video a while back (I think it was an older @bballbreakdown video?) about how Steph's shooting mechanics are remarkably consistent and pure just from like the diaphragm up. Ostensibly, his lower body can be doing whatever, completely off balance, kicking his legs; he can be drifting. His follow through can be just crumpling into a ball. But he has this uncanny practiced ability to get his shoulders square to the basket mid-shot like he has a gyroscope in his torso. It was interesting.
This is (yet) ANOTHER thing that sets the ORIGINAL Dream Team apart from every other Olympic basketball team. Michael Jordan didn't NEED to put up crazy numbers for them to win.
@@antonquirgst2812 It doesn't matter how much "better" they've supposedly gotten. The original Dream Team would STILL dominate over these Olympic teams today. Everyone always seems to want to claim that players now are all better than they were back then, like players (now) are breaking all kinds of records that were set by previous generations. Need I remind you that the original Dream Team had the NBA's ALL-TIME Leader in both steals AND assists? The original Dream Team had Michael Jordan. No need to say much else about that. The original Dream Team had Magic AND Bird. In fact, think about the caliber of talent on THAT team and tell me which modern team could (HONESTLY) match up with them.
@@kalon511 this dream team could most certainly go against them. And for the first part of ur argument: you dont know that. This dream team had the all time leading scorer on their roster. You don't know that the original dream team would dominate. Thats an assumption.
@@antonquirgst2812 Then, I'm guessing you wouldn't mind explaining why Steph Curry had to bail them out by HIMSELF? I'm MORE than sure that if Michael Jordan had spent more than 20 years in the league, that scoring record would've been a bit difficult to beat. There's no telling how many more championships he would've won. The original Dream Team beat the teams THEY were playing against by rather large margins. Magic Johnson wasn't exactly a "trash talker", but Bird and Jordan were. They could ALSO - BACKUP their "trash talk" for the most part. With guys who had the ability to tell you BEFOREHAND where they were going to shoot from or how many points they'd score on you at any given time, how can you (HONESTLY) make the claim that this team would stand a chance against the original Dream Team? Did you even take the time to watch and notice how THIS Olympic team was playing defense? How do you think they GOT in trouble to the point whereas Curry had to save them? If I'm not mistaken, those French announcers said CURRY was "the devil that kills them", not that team.
@@kalon511 once again: the fact that the original dream team beat their opponents by rather large margins is due to the fact their competition was weaker rel. to them. (Thus the large margins!) Their comp. was weaker rel. to them than the recents dream teams competition was/is to this dream team. You calim this is due to this dream team being worse than the original one. I am claiming this is due to this dream teams competition being stronger (aka the world has caught up a lot since the 90s in terms of skill. Anargument furhter strengened by the fact that there are more europian players in the nba than ever before). I am saying I dont believe the original dream team was so much better if at all than this team and the fact that they were struggeling is not the resault of this teams weaker line up, rather than their competition being better. (for example Serbia having the best all around BB of the world on their roster).
Its hard to compare steph with the greatest point guards, cause its not what we see a point guard doing. In the traditional sense he is not. If he plays the classic PG role he is too turnover prone and is not strategic enough. However he does it the gravity way. He still gets a ton of players indirectly open, while shooting on an insane clip. Nobody ever done it this way, so a comparison is hard, but i would say he is top 5 in PGs… but probably him and Magic the best in uniquely incomparable ways.
Listen, and listen real good. Steph Curry is by far the best player period.I don't understand why some rank Magic Johnson above Steph Curry. Magic, at 6'8", doesn't fit the traditional point guard role due to his height, whereas Steph, at 6'2", excels and makes other players appear amateurish. But the thing is a small guard, who is smaller and weaker than most manages to be in the convo for GOAT or top 10, shows how good of a player he really is.
Nobody can be compared to Steph 'coz he is miles away from them. Nobody comes close.
curry evolved from where he started he keeps getting better and better plus he's really fit on off the fittest players check his movement with the ball and without the ball and how fast he goes
4:31 Lebron: eyes on Steph, not the ball 😂
The best 3-point shooter in nba history.
When Coach kerr asked Ant man to do stephens work out. He nearly passed out.😂😂😂
STEPH CURRY IS THE GOAT!!!🔥🔥🔥
True and they cant accept it specially the media and the big.men
I heard Curry was 6-4? That's not short by today's NBA! Especially for a point guard or a shooting guard or a combo guard!
i will say he is THE SHOOTING of GOAT
Curry is the best in his generation period
Enough already guys! Steph is the greatest shooter n point guard period
Steph is the greatest shooter of all time without a doubt. No debate!
It's absolutely hilarious how when LBJ scored the last 11 points in the earlier games they was saying LBJ is the best player outta all of them and he's 39 carrying the U.S. team 😂😂😂😂😂
CHECK THIS OUT!!!!
When Steph scored 36 points 9 rebounds 8 assists all the media was saying how " Lebron and Steph" saved the U.S. in the semi-finals like WTF!!!! Are u fucking kidding me???? WTF DID LEBRON HAVE TO DO WITH THOSE STATS STEPH PUT UP AND HE SINGLE-HANDEDLY WON THE LAST 2 GAMES FOR THE U.S. BUT ALL THE HEADLINES HAD LBJ NAME ALONG WITH STEPHS NAME AND LBJ WAS THE LOWEST SCORER OF ALL THE STARTERS IN THOSE LAST 2 GAMES AND HAD MULTIPLE TURNOVERS SMMFH
YOU CANT MAKE THIS SHIT UP!!!!
living rent free. LMAO calm down kid. if LBJ was not there those last 2 games wont even happen. stop being insecure mf. steph is a legend, end of the debate.
I said the same thing but that last shot in the Olympics will go down in history all over the world. From what I hear France thinking taken their curry sauce away about ta
Media people is all for lebron all the time.i dont know why they are praising him so.much...
@@piningrosal7632 me either frfr
Well it is the same like saying Curry is a top 10 player...... why?
best defenders in GSW team first championship, first green, second Klay and third Iguadala, according to GSW fans Iguadala stopped Lebron and that's why Iguadala won finals MVP, because if Iguadala didn't stop Lebron, Cavs would have won, then Iguadala gave Curry his first championship right there.
Second and third GSW championship, best defenders , first green, second KD, third Klay, fourth Iguadala
Curry has been carried defensively his whole career.
He makes his guard dance like a swan ballet dancer
"Nuit Nuit" was that part the French hated the most
Curry made me love basketball
He is someone i want to do like
4:20 so true…you can’t get mad at curry for being as good as he is
I’ll never take anything away from Kyrie , to me his game is more like AI , than Steph’s is .
But to me Steph is just special , his shooting ability is a given , but his passes are insane , his worth ethic , his ability to stay in control during chaos , he’s humble , classy , and an all around good dude . What more can you ask from a person ? Kyrie is great , Steph stands alone .
Steph🐐
Steph Curry is on the short list of greatest of all time. For now on the greatest of all time list needs to be in position categories. PG, SG, SF, PF, C. He is the greatest PG of all time.
shump wild for saying it like that.
Steph or Magic is like LeBron or Jordan argument... can't go wrong with either. All about what individuals value or the team they wanna build.
Steph a better shooter, Magic a better passer/rebounder.
Both the 2 best point guards who lead their teams completely differently.
I mean, we are seeing another version of Magic in Lebron, and even Luka is looking like that. But we have not seen another version of Steph like ever. People liked to push Trae to be the "next Steph" but he aint even close.
@@tigera6 no Trey does not have the “drive” like Steph or the work ethic.
2:35 I wanted to hear what Marcus smart said
Greatest Points Guard of all time. There’s a difference. Changed the game. It’s a shortlist of people who did that.
Mikan
Russell
Wilt
Kareem
Magic
Michael
Lebron
Steph
Jokic? TBD on him
SC30 THE REAL MVP & GOAT💪👊💪
2 more rings and he's permanently in the goat conversation.
Steph is the GOAT in his division, as he is the only player besides MJ to have changed the paradigm of basketball. Before Steph, people thought three-point shooters were boring. Now, no one says that.
Sneaking in Andrew Bogut as one of the Goats Richard Jefferson has played with is crazy work lol
Stephen Curry is more of a combo guard than a point guard
Steph is the Goat of Basketball.
Win another championship 🏆
You got life and bullshit mixed up. Why does he need another championship? He has 4 already… plus every other NBA award except defensive player awards. He punked Wemby, who is more than a foot taller than him. Quit playing 😂
@@TheMmi43 more than LeBron ..... What will they say now? 🤔
@@shrenikchopra1921 yep I wonder as well….what will they say now? My guess is not one dam word. Steph shut them up for the old criticism and future criticism.
@@TheMmi43 you mean 2 and 2 mickey championships? he needs to have another championship to prove that HE can do it without mickey mouse.
@@kouani1995 same argument goes for lebron with dwade, chris bosh first 2 ; doesn't mean he couldn't win without them but did he look at kd man without curry
If you don't care about scoring more points than your opponent, then choose Magic.
Curry shot definitely look better than ray allen
Facts. Beal was absolutely trippin lmao
He ain't have to proof sh** he is the greatest point guard and the greatest shooter in the history of the league period
He's the best player
Steph is hands down the greatest PG of all time.. you can teach magics passing. You cannot teach what Steph does
You need to add Allen Iverson to that conversation as well
Curry's 402 3pt record shouldn't be broken because shooting 3s that much isn't basketball.
How many people literally change the way the game is played? The only one in my lifetime is Steph Curry. Enough said.
@@YerchMcYerchikins that’s a fair argument. Debatable. You can say the same thing about Dirk. Single leg post fade. Stretch 4.
Steph is the GOAT!!!!
People don’t realize that Steph has been the best player in the league since 2016
Curry is the all time best in the NBA,nobody is even close to be compared my guy
This isn't even an argument anymore. He been had that title.
Ppl always comparing steph and kyrie. They're both good players, why don't u just love every player instead of hating one and comparing others.
I haven’t heard someone compare Kyrie and Steph since like 2017.
NBA should make a rule that whoever guards Steph gets a $10K incentive for the frustration.
2:53 Jefferson haven’t played yet with Thannanis thooo
If he gets fifth ring, he will undoubtedly become the greatest point guard of all time.
If he won’t get it,There should be a conversation.
Curry the best basketball player in the world because he changed the game in NBA
Steph walks in faith first, that's why he's so good. 😊
This is (yet) ANOTHER thing that sets the ORIGINAL Dream Team apart from every other Olympic basketball team. Michael Jordan didn't NEED to put up crazy numbers for them to win.
european BB has gotten better
@@antonquirgst2812
It doesn't matter how much "better" they've supposedly gotten.
@@antonquirgst2812
Then, I'm guessing you wouldn't mind explaining why Steph Curry had to bail them out by HIMSELF?
Stephen Curry goat of basketball
The greatest shooter of all times!!!
Kyrie dribble 17 secs before he shoot or pass.
And he has 1 rings under his belt
Its hard to compare steph with the greatest point guards, cause its not what we see a point guard doing. In the traditional sense he is not. If he plays the classic PG role he is too turnover prone and is not strategic enough. However he does it the gravity way. He still gets a ton of players indirectly open, while shooting on an insane clip. Nobody ever done it this way, so a comparison is hard, but i would say he is top 5 in PGs… but probably him and Magic the best in uniquely incomparable ways.
His the goat of the shooter and his my idol
Steve from another planet is the best of all time
I’m good with it. Agreed.
Going with Steph Cury head to head, what’s like?
River’s answer:
That man the way he moves without the ball is the worse part. 🤣🤣
Steph has been the real mvp for ten years
Tons of Goats, Andrew Bogut! Hilarious!
He really threw andrew bogut in that crowd lmao
Listen, and listen real good.
Steph Curry is by far the best player period.I don't understand why some rank Magic Johnson above Steph Curry. Magic, at 6'8", doesn't fit the traditional point guard role due to his height, whereas Steph, at 6'2", excels and makes other players appear amateurish.
Steph Curry is my favorite player, and LeBron James is my second, not just for what they do on the court, but also what they do off the court.
On ball Magic and Steph are great. Off ball Steph is the goat and Magic is Ben Simons ...
That Draymond Steph, 1,2 is something serious.
