Thank you making this video! I was following a text tutorial to no avail, but said tutorial didn't mention setting the Wii U adapter for all 4 controllers, rather than just for the one port you'll use. Seeing you do that instantly got things working!

Thank you for the guide! For anyone who has a different adapter just find its name by either looking at your connected usbs or on the drop down list it should name "Gamecube switch adapter/Wii u/etc". (The usb ID should be the same as in the video: 057E 0337)

Wasn't working normally like it did on windows 10 but zadig fixed it for my new pc that's on windows 11

@@GamingForst1 It's gotten genuinely usable recently but still isn't perfect. Retail mode is as easy as navigating to a webpage in the browser and external storage is supported now. Still much room for improvement but we're in business now.

This worked! I think I fucked up one of the first steps and ended up getting a Code 10 on my keyboard, but a system recover fixed it
I use the adapter from Mayflash for the Wii U.

my gamecube controller worked until now and since I used zadig, my gamecube controller does not work at all :/
the controls are not working with this zadig. The gamecube contoller goes crazy in the game and doesn't work properly . then the left side of the joystick won't work. Worst of all once I downloaded this software it won't let me uninstall it so I can just go back to the old setting like before
Great video. I attempted to use zadig to use Wii Remotes with dolphin for my own LozTP HD experience, but Dolphin would consistently crash with that setup after 10-20 minutes of gameplay so I gave up on it.

Hello! HELP PLEASE! Whenever I launch a game, it won't detect the adapter but when there is no game running it is detected. Am I doing something wrong? How fix?

Are you using an official adapter? These steps aren't for a third-party alternative.

@Archades Games I followed these instructions, but there was never a WUP028 that showed up, just "Controller Adaptor" and it didn't have the USB ID that you showed. This doesn't show up when unplugged so I know that it's the correct one. It timed out when I tried to replace the driver. Now it only shows the current driver to overwrite the current driver and asks to reinstall instead of replace. What should I do?
Are you using a Wup028 or a clone
@@ArchadesGames It turns out that the device must be in Wii/Switch mode when plugged in to be detected as Wup 028. If in PC mode when plugged in, it will just register as 'Controller Adaptor".
Flip the switch to 'PC' after installation.

Hi sir, we have a Hyperkin GC adapter. An acer z3 aspire 600 PC, the GC adapter is in WiiU and still in Zadig the WUP-028 doesnt show up when you go to all the listings... What do i do?
Could this get updated? I'm a little lost... WUP 028 is not in the list now and the ID numbers are wrong.

Is it normal for only one USB to work? Only the black end is detected both by my Switch and my PC, the grey end won't be detected by either.
I do have a switch for PC/Wii U on the adapter, and if I plug the black end into my pc and select the Wii U mode, it stops tetecting it as it should, but my Switch still won't.
I have to keep plugging just the black end in and out of both devices for it to work.
Official Nintendo adapters don't have a PC/Wii U switch

Then you can try it in Wii U mode but chances are this guide isn't for you.

You can't. This tutorial has nothing to do with Mac and can't be applied to it.
