Going into the DLC I was kind of expecting them to address it but all we get is a few credit scenes of after he gets caught and the implication that at some point Ardyn decided to snatch the precious chocoboy during his journey to meet up with the others, so I was disappointed that Episode Prompto didn't really explain what happened there.
Monte Logan you mean the entire journey? I have heard a theory that Areana was actually Ardyn, so that would be pretty interesting. Prompto does suddenly end up in a blizzard with winter clothing too.
I was disappointed about that bit as well, though it was a minor gripe considering the awesomeness of the rest of the dlc. I think part of the point of the ending scene with Ardyn humming the victory fanfare and then cutting to prompto's capture is to articulate just how much influence Ardyn had over the events there. I mean, without him, none of that would've ever happened, meaning he's essentially responsible for prompto learning all that he did, helping the gang through zengnatus and being able to find the crystal. This is a running theme throughout the game as he obviously sets up Noctis's trials and indirectly sets up Gladio's trials by setting up the first run in with Ravus that made Gladio feel like a jackass and go to Gilgamesh. like the entire point of that seemingly nonsensical scene was that Ardyn set it up. Seeing the teaser for episode Ignis, I'm going to assume that he set up Ignis' trials as well, and after all that, plus the events in Niflheim before the game even starts, and it's easy to see why basically every little weird thing in the game points to Ardyn just playing games with the entire world. Long story short, I think the reason this scene and many like it panned out the way they did is to exemplify just how much power and influence Ardyn has for the sake of the plot.

I'm just typing these as I watch, so: The reason they're taking 6 months for Ignis is because it's going to be the biggest, most important DLC. They're releasing them in order of main-story relevance. They had a small team working on E: Gladio for three months, while also concentrating their main team on E: Prompto and starting dev at the same time as Gladio's DLC. So Gladio took 3 months, Prompto took 6 months, and Ignis' will take 6 months.
i actually love prompto’s characterization here. in the main game, he was kind of overbearing sometimes even if he was my favorite. but here, stripped down into nothing but himself, he is absolutely amazing. honest, pure, and real. i love it.

I'll be honest, I'm waiting for all the patches before I playthrough this game. Love Final Fantasy ever since I was a kid but with the way things are now in my life I don't have the time to play RPGs more than once.

One thing I hope they do once all the DLC comes out is have it pop up asking if you would like to play the DLC when they would fit into the story on a playthrough. It would flow a lot better and make it feel more cohesive. Reading a book vs Reading a book and then the Appendices if you get what I mean.

this dlc reminds me of winter in the last of us. both were such good changes in scenery and were really high points of the game for me, emotion-wise. and that’s why those are my favorite parts of their respective games (even though this one is a dlc).

Fake Name agreed it was so simple In E: Gladio Gilgamesh even he was not what I expected I was on my seat trying to survive like it was an actual test which made me feel great after I bested him. (But I wish we could've kept the aura around the it kinda looked cool) but in Prompts it was just an shoot it up the big dad worm thing which I know I had to fight him but I was expecting a fight that involved him in a (in his words) Glorious mix between human ingenuity, Daemonic power, and whatever good adjective you can give for machine but no it was so lame too I have never fought a boss so disappointing since Jak 3!

Took me over 7 hours to complete this DLC, had a lot of fun just driving around with Arianna grinding CPU points to fully upgrade the snowmobile... No real reason to really but it was fun, i saw things I could upgrade, knew how short and underwhelming it would be if I finished it without doing any side content so set out to upgrade the snowmobile, before I knew it I had been playing the DLC for hours and made it to 6 and a half before continuing to the finally. It wasn't amazing but it was fun, i like playing as Prompto, I like Arianna, I like lonely drives through the snow and I like captivating, compelling yet also relaxing music while doing it. Can comfortably say it's Sooo much better than Episode Gladio, best thing about that was the incredibly difficult fight with Cor and the battle music.
The Ignis DLC is going to feature Caligo, the fourth guy in that cutscene you showed at 7:45, so they will have featured everybody with a decent amount of screentime finally when it comes out.
what'd be great for the Ignis DLC as a finale is it to be an epic tale of him overcoming all the odds stacked against him; and then right in his moment of triumph... ...he loses his sight in the most anti-climatic way possible; like his knife slipping in a victory pose.
after episode ignis comes out there is no reason to have an option to pick who you play as in the base game. just buff promptos gun to match up with the rest of the cast or allow different guns to be equipped

I'm not planning on playing again until all the DLC is out, but that off-road regalia actually looks like a lot of fun. Do you know if that unlimited gas engine upgrade (you get it in Altissia) is applicable to the off-road regalia? Because it would actually be worth getting now I bet.
*sigh* and i uninstalled all of the patches last month. at this point i might as well just wait for the season pass to finish, set aside a week for the 25+GB worth of patches and DLC to finish downloading, and play the complete game.
I'm in the same boat. But, honestly, even after watching Buns' review, I'm still finding myself wondering if I really want to go through the rigmarole of installing everything again just to play the extras for a game which ultimately seems to fall short in general, in my opinion.

I think it's really easy to say why episode ignis is going to take so long come down to one thing: *Finishing Altissia* As you all know Altissa is tiny right now, yet if you played the timed events festivals or glitched out of the map, you know it's a whole lot larger, i mean their are solid surfaces everywhere. That isn't just a fancy background and map, you were meant to explore more than half of all Altissia. That's why the episode ignis going to take so long, it's not that their making a whole new map, they are finishing a much larger and very important one.
I loved this dlc so much I would be happy to play a full game with the same combat mechanics. It was something so different and fun. $5 for a bunch of fun. Try fighting the lvl 99 minibosses in the side quests as a lvl 35! Fun as all heck.

The final boss for Prompto was pretty bad. The battle mechanics were as simple as it gets.

The Ignis DLC is going to feature Caligo, the fourth guy in that cutscene you showed at 7:45, so they will have featured everybody with a decent amount of screentime finally when it comes out.
what'd be great for the Ignis DLC as a finale is it to be an epic tale of him overcoming all the odds stacked against him; and then right in his moment of triumph...
...he loses his sight in the most anti-climatic way possible; like his knife slipping in a victory pose.
aranea became one of my favorite characters in the game after just the campfire scene. just... so adorable. ssso fucking adorable!!!
after episode ignis comes out there is no reason to have an option to pick who you play as in the base game. just buff promptos gun to match up with the rest of the cast or allow different guns to be equipped

When I fist started to play Noctis was my fav/bae but then Prompto stole the show...this DLC just made me wanna hug this man, with all this emotional stuff!

I sold my copy after beating it. I was really disappointed with how it turned out, and said I wouldn't play it again. Is it worth getting again if I find it cheap with all of the newly added free stuff?
Played it for the first time last week and I completed my first few quest with the Regalia Type-d, absolutely incredible

I really liked Episode Prompto. So much so that i have started speedrunning it. It is really fun to play through,even after like...8 playthroughs
If Dirge of Cerberus had combat like this and maybe a bit more spice added to the story, it could've been one of the most unique FF games out there

As someone who has finished new game + and both dlc eps, i utterly ad o r e d ep prompto, and the serious situations he was put into in the few hours the dlc got outta me. That being said, Ignis has always been and will always be best boy. Bring on episode Ignis in December, I'll catch my best guy there 😍😍😍😍

Question: If I were to play through the story with the DLC installed, would I suddenly play episode Gladio and Prompto when I got to the appropriate part of the story?
I was thinking of finally trying one of them out after Episode Ignis came out. So far... I definitely do not want to try Gladio's episode first since I heard a lot of complaints about it XD

I was a chapter away from beating the game and my save got corrupted even though I had hmm 3 backup saves. so I'm conflicted on whether to restart or give up and I now have a lot of feelings about ff15

This whole game sounds like a work in progress with regards to the story. If it ever makes it to pc, I wonder how it will look as a complete package.

It just now occurred to me that Prompto was concerned about Noctis not accepting him due to his weight...did he not think about the fact that he had a barcode on him? Being property of Niflheim might be a bit more important than being judged on your weight.

Jinx z-AB go through the playstation homepage (im assuming playstation bc i have it lol) there is an icon on the far left thats the playstation store. click it and search the main game, go to extras (i think its called) or add ons and it should be right there!

I'm not planning on playing again until all the DLC is out, but that off-road regalia actually looks like a lot of fun. Do you know if that unlimited gas engine upgrade (you get it in Altissia) is applicable to the off-road regalia? Because it would actually be worth getting now I bet.

*sigh* and i uninstalled all of the patches last month. at this point i might as well just wait for the season pass to finish, set aside a week for the 25+GB worth of patches and DLC to finish downloading, and play the complete game.
I'm in the same boat. But, honestly, even after watching Buns' review, I'm still finding myself wondering if I really want to go through the rigmarole of installing everything again just to play the extras for a game which ultimately seems to fall short in general, in my opinion.
well, episode ignis isnt out until December, so hopefully by then, the gameplay burnout will have worn off. until then, i have plenty of time to platinum a remake of a much better open world FF starting this coming tuesday, twelve million HP super boss and all

Tabata has said before that Episode Ignis is last because it's the most story heavy one.
I think it's really easy to say why episode ignis is going to take so long come down to one thing:
*Finishing Altissia*
As you all know Altissa is tiny right now, yet if you played the timed events festivals or glitched out of the map, you know it's a whole lot larger, i mean their are solid surfaces everywhere.
That isn't just a fancy background and map, you were meant to explore more than half of all Altissia.
That's why the episode ignis going to take so long, it's not that their making a whole new map, they are finishing a much larger and very important one.
I loved this dlc so much I would be happy to play a full game with the same combat mechanics. It was something so different and fun. $5 for a bunch of fun. Try fighting the lvl 99 minibosses in the side quests as a lvl 35! Fun as all heck.
Episode Gladio gave me the worst case of blue balls in history.

Great video. 🤘 Played this game when it first came out and beat it in about a week. Never picked it up again. Now I'm playing through again and doing all the dlc too. Just got done with gladio and am continuing on in the main story at the vesperpool. I was also pretty unimpressed. Don't remember when I'll be playing this chapter but it looks better.
