Great video! If I may give some feedback for anyone that wants to do this but doesn't have 600 hours to spare: 1) extended W-item glitch can max out your stats in a couple hours. 2) materia grinding in the weird swamp area in the Northern Cave can max out all your materia super fast. Just use Vincent to kill everything here to rack up his kill counter 3) once all your materia is maxed, back room in the mythic cave with Vincent + mega all + as many sneak attack deathblow (with the sniper gun so you don't miss) can rack up the kill counter super fast. All in all, this will save you hundreds of hours and cut the time in half if not more. Happy grinding!!
duplicating the sources would be ALOT faster than morphing monsters... you can grind AP with any of the 3x ap weapons and the movers in the northern crater...
For those who want to max strength relatively early, just finish the temple of the ancients and don't forget to grab the transform materia. Then go to gongaga and transform the tank monster for power sources until you're maxed out.
Even better, you get sent to Gongaga immediately after finishing Temple of the Ancients... And the game isn't balanced around having max strength at that point in the game either, so fights all the way up to Jenova death are ridiculously easy since you will be doing 3k+ damage for normal attacks when it doesn't expect more than 1500 to 2000 for MP heavy magics.
I did this first, it allowed me to use morph with multiple characters without relying on Yuffie's conformer; this made getting sources a lot quicker for me
In all sincerity, i would very much like a longer version. Along with the nostalgia it's extremely relaxing to watch. Having it on in the background cleaning or laying down in bed and getting ready to sleep is ideal time to watch for me. The longer the better and i thank you for the videos man. Hope you like a small insight into possibly some demographics.
Me too, it'll be interesting to see everything and we may be mental wanting to, but we wouldn't watch the ledge if we wasn't, and he may also be mental but that's why we love the guy
A few note because I've been thinking about this way too much. There are variations on the item duplication glitch that include morphing. So, you could cut the time to collect most if the source items significantly. Also, be sure to max out vincent first, so he can take yuffie's place as your party morpher and get more kills. Additionally, while the mythril cave looks pretty good for grinding out kills for him, the woods across the river from the nibilhiem mountains are home to an enemy that can show up as many as 6 at a time called 'battery caps'.
You're right that the Battery Caps fight is the only one in the game where you face six enemies at once. However, more than a third of the battles in that forest only features two enemies; but in that part of the mythril mine, all fights have either four or five enemies, so the average number of enemies per fight is still higher there.
My mind is actually melting... the effort, time and dedication this must've taken is beyond my comprehension... saying "thank you" seems lame in exchange for this video but the gratitude is real. I agree that a longer version would be awesome as I love watching this sort of video... very calming and enjoyable. Hope the therapy is going well!!
Your FFX OP video inspired me to start that game again, and I tried the Zanarkand and Kilika boat leveling tricks. That headstart got me to where I could finally beat the Dark Aeons and Penance for the first time. So yeah, I don't mind longer videos, especially if there is also information for people who don't want to go completely all-in OP. Those leveling tricks actually really helped me enjoy the game more.
I would opt for the longer version. You spend such an incredible amount of time doing these runs, a 15 minute clip simply doesn't do it justice. And all the steps are super fascinating to watch!
8:04: If you're going for kill count and AP, sleeping forest/coral valley is better than sunken gelnika side-room (though not as good as magic pots in north crater, but you need elixers for those). There's one screen in sleeping forest/coral valley (just before city of the ancients) that spawns exclusively 4-5 mob encounters (Malldancers and Boundfats) for 200-225 AP per fight. Whole groups can be insta-killed even at low levels, and as long as you're immune to darkness they can't hurt you.
As a child, I grinded a set of master materia for each of my main three party! I farmed the little orange ball guys using the apocalypse sword in the northern crater I’m interested to see if he does the same thing
Now you can get 2 KOTR materia (2 of all summons, actually) using the newly found materia duplication glitch using Yuffie's side quest. Its an insane process kinda, but that can save you hundreds of hours. And w-item dupe sources will shave off another 200 hours.

also idk if its just on the PS1 version but sources can go above 255. the number doesnt display higher but you definitely get stronger. also with w item glitch you can dupe hero drinks and those stack, but only for one battle only in combat. i fought ruby weapon solo with cloud with the buster sword. his ultima spell hit cloud (when it didnt miss due to mystile) for like 9 damage. yes single digit.

For the love of God, Bless your grinder loving heart! Such a short video doesn't do justice to the amount of literal work you do behind the scenes. Im not bitching at all. Im just amazed and can't get enough of these type of videos. The only thing I'd change is to make the video longer and thus more detailed. Good work Primal! I love all your content because it is so relevant and that is hard this day in age but you do it friend!
-For Source farming it's much quicker to dupe. You can do this by placing a single consumable at the top of the item list, and then using it right before Yuffie morphs something. That will put the source at the top of your list so that you can use the w-item glitch to get 99 at a time. Power Sources and Guard Sources are better farmed from The screamers in Mt. Nibel, and the Spiral in Mideel respectively. AP farming is MUCH faster when farming the Magic Pots in the Northern crater. I get that you were trying to multitask and add to Vincents kill counter at the same time, but it sacrifices everything else. -Barret does need 8 Mastered Knights of the round to Overflow, he can do it with as little as 2. along with 3 Bahamut zero's, 2 W-items, and a Quadra Magic. AP wise that's closer to 5, but It's much easier to max those other materia. However to Overflow the final boss it takes a little bit more. Somewhere between 2.5 million, and 2.8 Million, or over 5 and half KOTRs. Exactly 5 and half didn't work, so I had to equip one magic counter for the extra 500k. -Also for Final materia setups, Personally I would give 4x cut materia to Cloud, Cid, Red XIII, and Cait Sith. Along with the ultimate weapons they will be able to do 39,996 damage just by choosing attack. It's definitely not the most overpowered that you can get, but it's way quicker than trying to W-summon KOTR in random battles.

You sir, are insane, and it is amazing! Thanks for the video. Also, prefer the longer version.. you take so much time into the grind and i enjoy watching the process.
I like to use the movers and magic pot to grind my 3 sets of master materia. Also master 7 sneak attack and 7 morphs add yuffie's conformer. Run around the heli room, mashing x and watching someone else. W-item the luck and speed 3x speed take about 10hrs to max stat for 3 characters
My brother was really into FF7 when it first came out in the PS. He got to the point where we was able to cast knights of the around table like 5 times in just one turn. It was wild.
No, you've never used it And Bahumat Zero so many times throughout one turn that such long timed summons are horrid. Easier to repeat Bahumat Zero I believe due to Knights of the Round not really working with a paired support materia I used with Bahumat Zero, no problem.
Sorry I just really wanted to end Ruby straight on instead of using dazers and hero drinks. But I thought the stats go past 255? But that might be one of those misplaced memories cause I know I was annoyed when it went past that max.
FF6 was terrible about it too. Locke with Atma Weapon, Valiant Knife, Genji Glove, and Offering could hit for 9,999 16 times in one turn using quick. Theoretically, at least. Nothing could survive the first salvo so it was effectively limited to 8 times. It was *a lot* easier than the stuff in this video too. Just being high level with 4 specific items.
great vid as always and since you asked us, i personally like the longer, more in-depth vids as long as it's final fantasy stuff. can't get enough. but any vid is better than no vid. keep up the good work
The RUclips Gods have done good in recommending your videos. I love FF, I don't care whatever challenges you do, as long as they're FF games I'm happy to watch them all
I haven't seen your older style videos and gotta admit this one is pretty condensed.. But having played the game over a 1000hrs around the 2000's everything is making a lot of sense. Going into this I was thinking there's no way you're gonna beat my old set-ups.. couldn't have been more wrong, you're a different kind of beast XD hats off to you sir!
TL;DR you can use Morph to transform certain enemies into items that grant a permanent stat boost for different stats. So if you're really that hellbent on it you can max all stats for everyone. Otherwise all you really need to faceroll everything in the game is W-Summon, Knights of the Round and Mime. Also IIRC there was a glitch that let you dupe items using W-Item.
Good video. Worth noting there is a way to use the w-item glitch to duplicate the source items that give a stat boost- probs takes about 4 hours to max stats using it. There's a video on RUclips which explains how to do it, but you have to get into a battle with an enemy that can be morphed into a source, have a consumable item at the top of your inventory, use w item and use the consumable, have Yuffie morph the enemy into a source, then the source takes top spot in inventory, and you can duplicate as normal using W item glitch as long as one enemy is left alive. As for AP grinding, stack a triple AP weapon, then go to Northern Crater and find Magic Pots. Dupe elixir with W item glitch, then give the elixir to them. 1000 AP per pot, so if you get 2 pots, it's 1000 x 2 then x 3 from the boost AP weapon for 6000 AP. It takes about 1 mil to master KOTR. That would be about 166 battles with two Magic Pot's. You probs run into them about 1/3rd of the time compared to other enemies, so I'd say about 500 battles required to do so. If you want 8 mastered, call that 4000 battles. Probs take 5000-6000 battles total using this method to master everything required. I think the above would be a much quicker way of farming the stats and AP that might only take 50-70 hours. It also sorts out Barrett's overflow. Props on doing the requirements for Vincent's overflow. If you want to do it automated, setup your party with only Vincent, put some good materia on that will allow self healing and mp absorb if required, then get him to stand in the midgar zolom spawn. It'll keep respawning, he'll keep killing it, and after a few days you should hit the kill cap required for overflow.
You can get upwards of 9k AP per batter if you fight the 3 dots that appear in the marsh areas in the Crater. Put the materia on a weapon with triple growth, loading up on Enemy Lure helps as well. Also throw Elixar at the Magic pots for 6K each. The other thing you can do is spam Omnilash on a boss. Basically you go into battle ready to use it. Have mine materia equipped. NO COUNTERS or auto healing or anything that will cause anyone to do any action. Use Omni, then skip the other 2 characters turn (don't even defend, just skip) and then use Mine on Cloud, he will Omni again. Repeat till dead. If you need to heal or anything, wait till the Limit bar is ready, heal up or regen, and start again.
Insanely impressive! I'm glad someone did it, I'm equally glad it wasn't me. Also, I've heard Gelnika mispronounced as Gelinka before, but this is the first time I've heard Gelenkia.
I did this the first time I played FF7. In the first disc you can max out guard and power source by morphing some monsters on the continent. Getting omnislash from Gold Saucer and ribbon by morphing Ochu if i remember correctly. In disc 2, as soon as you can access the under water sub, then you max out the rest of stats. With this you don't have to worry bout bosses and focus more on the story content. The game becomes very easy, if you do this. Then you can do other play through and add challenges to the bosses.
Grinding inefficiently became the way for me, I was a kid so I had the time. My first playthrough, I got stuck on the cosmo canyon boss, discovering that my friend, who I thought was better than me at the game, also struggled to beat the boss on my save file, really shined a light on the glaring contrast and just how important leveling up and xp was, this was my first rpg, I honestly didn't know. But, I made it a rule to never run from a fight again, and I honestly never did. Years later I crushed this game and everything it had to offer, except for some gold saucer prizes, I truly didn't have the time for some of that stuff you could buy with gp
I am a first time viewer, but I can tell you, this was an amazing video. I think 10 to 15 minute videos are where you need to be. But I love what you guys are doing, thank you so much for doing!
Great vid man. I remember maxing everyone’s stats way back on PS1 and once cid was maxed, his highwind limit was doing 9999 per hit (give or take one or 2 hits per cast). That made for so much faster of a ruby weapon kill. Good times.

It's definitely not the most overpowered that you can get, but it's way quicker than trying to W-summon KOTR in random battles.
you need to have morph+final attack on a dying yuffie if you fight single enemies though
I look forward to these videos every time, thanks again dude. I like the longer form videos
having watched all of your videos so far, i must say that i do enjoy the longer versions, as you put that time into i enjoy seeing the progress. Thanks for the upload bud! keep em coming! Also can you do an Overpowered video on Breath of fire 4 please :)
never played it so im afraid i wouldnt be able to do BoF4
@@Primalliquid92 Darn :) that would be a great video, may i suggest giving that game a playthough? its amazing im sure you will love it
I definitely started watching you for the longer ones. I hope they are the norm for future vids.
Coming soon: How overpowered can you get in real life
wish there was a clearcut metric to gauge that, like in games
You're looking for SpiffingBrit at that point. Dude showed off how to get everything from xbox pass forever for a single dollar.

I really enjoy the longer videos, you should also try making polls for people to vote on. According to the smiffing brit it helps move people to your channel.
You sir, are insane, and it is amazing! Thanks for the video. Also, prefer the longer version.. you take so much time into the grind and i enjoy watching the process.
Respect the commitment! Love nerdy in-depth info in the videos. Cheers!
Spend 900 hours in the first reactor and get to level 99 first off
it actually only takes 350 hours
It's been done too
@@Primalliquid92 lol well that's almost nothing!
@@drake128 not sure many people are capable of doing what Primal does
Thats easy. This guy made the math to max level on Dark Souls tutorial area and It would take like 20 straight years
I like to use the movers and magic pot to grind my 3 sets of master materia.
Also master 7 sneak attack and 7 morphs add yuffie's conformer.
Run around the heli room, mashing x and watching someone else.
W-item the luck and speed
3x speed take about 10hrs to max stat for 3 characters
"Oh hey! Primal uploaded"

*"Oh no.... for the love of exdeath..."*
Also, i prefer the longer videos
Awesome, look forward to checking out the rest of your vids
@@RavinerPayne master summon attached to w-summon works, so...
Only 5?! Hahaha. That's newb numbers, buddy.
@@RavinerPayne Use Mimic and Knights of The Round thats maxxed out, you can infinitely use the summon
I'm glad someone is willing to ask and answer the questions that matter..
It's insane to think that a game from 1997 had this much complexity and this much freedom to become this overpowered, even exists.
So you mean every JRPG ever? Dunno why you’re specifying FF7 with your rose tinted goggles
@@Lanoman123 Because its far better than most other JRPGs dingus, duh.
it was crazy its no surpize path of exile players where hardcore ff 7 players once alot of the time.
cuz ff7 did it much better than most jrpg@@Lanoman123
FF6 was terrible about it too. Locke with Atma Weapon, Valiant Knife, Genji Glove, and Offering could hit for 9,999 16 times in one turn using quick. Theoretically, at least. Nothing could survive the first salvo so it was effectively limited to 8 times. It was *a lot* easier than the stuff in this video too. Just being high level with 4 specific items.
The longer videos are nice I think, it helps me chill while doing other passive video things
this was my exact original build i had for killing ruby without even being there
I like a mix of short and long form vids; this worked well as a coffee-break length while others make great feature films!
Wizard Bracelets are not the best armlet. You're thinking Mystile.
Yup and you can make mystils my morphing cactaurs. And there is a 3rd ribbin in the frozen mountain behind a secret pathway
Great video mate. Would love a longer version of all your videos!
Amazing ! I wonder what kind of damage you do with overflow against ruby weapon.
How did you manage to keep you sanity ?
I prefer the longer videos.
you cant overflow ruby, its defense is to high so its completely impossible, sanity? i lost that ages ago xD
@@Primalliquid92 the fact that you didn’t capitalize the x but capitalized the D annoys me to an unhealthy level
@@Primalliquid92my man did it 255 strength 8 mastered deathblows on Vincent's death penalty 65k plus kills curse ring and gigas armlet too easy 😂😅
I actually did the 100 hour overpowered grind from your Cosmo Cayon video, it was pretty long but super worth it.
“How overpowered can you get”
Great question, but first you must ask yourself how patient are you?
Definitely the longer version, I like the in-depth thoughts behind the choices. Keep up the awesome work buddy
Make your videos as long as you like. You spent 6000 hours getting there, so you may as well go over every detail, right? Thank you!
great vid as always and since you asked us, i personally like the longer, more in-depth vids as long as it's final fantasy stuff. can't get enough. but any vid is better than no vid. keep up the good work
Long ass versions all the way, love seeing you losing your mind in all its glory
The RUclips Gods have done good in recommending your videos. I love FF, I don't care whatever challenges you do, as long as they're FF games I'm happy to watch them all
Mime materia + Knights of the Round Table is broken
Started playing the Remake and this video came up in my feed... respect homie and continued success.
This man doesn’t know how to duplicate sources. That would have saved at least 60 hours.
That's illegal
I'm pretty sure no one will care.
Glad I found your channel while on my FFX Remaster play through. You are a true gentlemen! Thanks.
How about both versions?
I myself prefer the detailed one :D
Just started following your overpowered cosmo canyon guide yesterday and just left Midgar so I'm swapping to this one from there! :)
Sorry to be that guy but repeatedly mentioning Gelenkia when it is called Gelnika made me want to correct you!
Thanks for all the vids. I’ve had a blast going back and beating the crap out of these classics after grinding.
I remember one play through I maxed out Clouds STR and VIT stat, and gave him a mastered Cover and Counter Attack materia, before the end of disk 1.
Subscribed out of respect for the grind and time commitment.
I like the longer, but if you have the content, can you make a cliffs notes and a full length?
These shorter ones are great! You already put in so much work into the game itself
All the work you do is appreciated!!
you put so much effort and time in this stuff.
you can do the in depth videos ^^
Amazing my friend, thanks for producing content for us.
I enjoyed the short Vid, but I like the longer more in-depth ones so far.
Good times.
Def long form video style 👌..got into these Games for the length and to see a man so committed to the grind..deserves to be enshrined!
This is the first video of yours I've seen and it blows my mind lol. I've built up pretty strong on FFVII but this takes the cake! Amazing work
