Even though Final Fantasy 15 is always hated on, I really love it. The characters the world. I understand the downsides too but damn its such a nice adventure.... and it really is insanly pretty
My issue with FFXV is the tonal dissonance in the game with it suddenly becoming lighthearted after what happened in chapter 2 until Altissia. Oh and how each character is limited to 1 technique equipped at a time
yeah i love ff15, it hit all the notes for me. Don't understand why it gets mega hate from the community like ff13 does. They be talking like it was the worse game to ever exist like. saying it was average is fine but calling ff13 and ff15 trash is pretty extra.

Regarding Ring of Lucii, I put that in favor of NOT breaking the rules; the two spells you actually have consume MP which in my books falls under definition of using magic so that’s my two cents. Great run though.
I would just do the death spell, not holy, as holy trivializes most fights one you get it (wich isnt that many fights afterwards, but still doesnt seem that fair to me)
@@dragobane4728 When you say holy, were you perhaps referring to Lux Aeterna? If not, I don't remember seeing anything that resembled the holy spell throughout course of game.
I always think that in challenge runs in games if you’re forced to do something with no way around it, it’s still fine. It’s all about having fun and I would rather see more of a game done under a arbitrary self imposed rule set than say a run failed cause the game offered no other way around.
Seeing this playthrough I can't forget to mention that on my run back in 2017 Prompto got stuck underground for half of the game, which was very funny cause he woulp pop out of the ground to perform his team attack then get immediately sucked back into the earth 😭😭😭

Lol thanks for this run. Never expected people to have these kinds of challenges for this. I do wonder how Noctis appears to the NPCs with his cowardly but magical tactics. 😂
Same with FFXIII, I loved this game too and they both get notoriously bad wraps. It’s just different strokes for different blokes at the end of the day. Ofc I wished they had done certain things but that was down to personal taste. I did still end up balling my eyes out the end which is a good FF game to me. Sank loads of hours into it which is also another thing I look for in a good FF game. And congrats on the video that’s mega impressive 🎉
31:28 Magitek troopers tend to drop if you stay in an area for too long so I think your car ride finished and your characters just stood there for awhile, triggering them. Exceptions exists such as heavily forested areas where dropping troops down would be a bad idea
Honestly FFXV is bittersweet to me It has some of the best worldbuilding and story beats of any FF title before it. But for some reason, all of that is kept hidden via the movie, the anime, the friggin MOBILE GAME, and random story books found in bus benches. It could have been the best FF to date if it had just embraced its story telling in a more honest and singular, easy to digest format
So that's what happened... I kinda stank at the game and I got that. I thought that's what was supposed to happen.. makes me feel really bad now that I realized it only happen if you reallllly runover the time limit.
A challenge on my favorite game ?! Need to watch ! No sleeping early for me tonight I guess... Also I must be one of the rare weirdo to actually enjoy this magic system and using it through the whole game, the effect looks awesome and it can be very useful when you manage to throw the right spell at the right moment. I might be tempted to try this challenge myself, Never tried something like that before. Honestly throwing a strong Ice spell while in water never fail to make me giggle like a child.
How often do you play the game??? As i discovered if you plow through the arena and get the most expensive price it gives you unlimited fuel and comes back on newgame+
"Don't think about it too much" is the best approach to take for the game's story overall. I do like the Noctis solo run in the Imperial capital, if only because it's a straightforward homage to the horror genre. That bit was crafted with love.
I mean honestly to each his own but that chapter is in my opinion, objectively dogshit, and Squenix knew as much too since they adjusted it. First half is correct though, story might not be good but it's about the journey not the destination
Really appreciate the ffxv challenge for once someone is playing this game I actually really like it (or at least what it was first supposed to be) Edit : my tip for this game is get founder king’s sigil and regalia f , the game really gets fun then
Regarding XV’s story becoming super linear after Altissia, I actually don’t mind it that much. I spent DOZENS of hours being sidetracked on the mainland, and by the time I got in the boat to leave, I felt pretty prepared. And with how much the action and the story ramps up, I kind of appreciate having to hit all the story beats one after another, to avoid me inevitably getting sidetracked again if it had in fact remained open world. So overall, I don’t mind
For me, it did kinda bother me. I hadn't completed the open world section, I had moved on ahead wanting to progress the story a bit before resuming some open world'ing... Aaaaand that never happened. It's kind of the opposite dynamic of regular RPGs, as in the world normally gradually opens more the more you progress, and you get to do all the end-game optional stuff before entering the final dungeon, whereas here the world closes the more you progress, making all the optional content missable beyond a certain point.
@@DaikoruArtwinif I remember right you can talk to umbra and get sent into the past just before altissia to go back to side stuff. Mind you it should have been much more visible since many seem to have missed it.
@@christianmaestas4435 I do remember that NPC, but I thought it was just in case we weren't ready for the upcoming challenges and wanted to grind a bit more. I really thought we'd go back to open world after this arc, so I moved on ahead anyway.
the only magic thing about it is the ore. honestly its not casting magic, its just throwing grenades. the WEAPONS have more magic to them then that... i mean i still love the game but what the hell...
WOW! That was a ride, thanks dude! The mandatory warp strikes only mean that it is impossible to finish the game in a really puristic view. I would say that it is A-OK to complete the run this way because you played the game using the challenges rules where POSSIBLE, which makes it totally viable. Well at least it was amazing! Great work!
That reasoning doesn't work though. You could even go fight an enemy to get a rare item and since it isn't possible to defeat them with magic you can start attacking them or using any other source. This could apply to a boss where you simply can't make magic strong enough to progress as well.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Yes, you are right; which would mean the run failed, as it does using a mandatory warp strike if the rules forbid it. So to finish a "failed" run in the spirit of the challenge is A-OK to see what else the playthrough has to offer is what I meant. To keep going even if the challenge is not doable using the basic rules is way more fun than just saying "done, isn't possible" halfway through. You've got a really valid point there. I might've just written my message too misleading, sorry ^^
@@eredkaisernow you can kill an endgame superboss with it lol. It misses a lot, but the black hole spell works eventually. That’s how I dealt with super hard quests.
This was a really good watch, and honestly this game was so much fun to play with my partner. We had the ultimate weapon by the time we fought Titan (We like side-quests..) Regardless insane to see you do this at level 1 haha :)!
It's a shame bc the magic in this game does actually look so insanely cool, and the crafting to get multi casts with enemy drops is a cool concept. there was just too many hoops, you didn't get nearly enough casts for your effort, oh and yeah it didn't do enough damage, they obviously added the Duscaen Oranges as a peace offering.
Why would you do this as a level 1? Please don't destroy your sanity with a stunt like that again. A magic only run by itself would have been plenty entertaining.
April Fools Day = Maximum number of restrictions :) Also, because some people were complaining that I just grind to a higher level every time I hit a roadblock, so this was my way of telling those people to sit down! XD
Lmao! I already know this is going to be a troll for April Fools. But I'm actually excited. I've been looking for videos on people doing magic only for FFXV.
I don’t think forced warps fail the run. There’s a difference between a forced warp and doing it intentionally for an advantage, just like how there’s a difference between running sections of FFX as no sphere grid in solo runs and actively using the rest of the party to win battles when your solo character is available.
FFXV was my first Final Fantasy game, and dispite the flaws it quickly became one of my favorite story focused games. It made me absolutely fall in love with Final Fantasy as a whole, dispite only having played a few of the games. The worlds, the writing, the characters. It all just works in a way that doesn't always make sense. Recently i started playing FFXIV and the story is really bringing back the feelings i had when i first played XV. And to top that off they just reran the XV crossover event so i got a nice hit of nostalgia from that too. I cant wait to play 7 remake and rebirth! And i really want to play 13!
Your content is hitting way above your weight class. I've binged all you videos so far and I can't wait to see your audience grow and balloon as time goes on
I see there is no rule for outfit change rule so you could have maybe tried out different outfits where it could help maybe? It'd cost you the extra hp from the default outfit though. There is also some incredibly strong ingredients that could help as well from the Zu hunt at Ravatogh, but grinding for them might be a bit much. I had a blast watching, love the game. Spoiler: From my understanding, the timeskip is basically because of Noctis being trapped inside the crystal till he can accept his fate and the role he needs to play going forward. He needs to come to terms with his responsibility as the chosen king of light. After playing Episode Ardyn it also feels like it is a repayment towards the torment Ardyn had to go through at the hands of the Astrals. He was trapped for millennia and forced to play by the rules of the Astrals as the host of the scourge.
Such a quality play through and an amazing tribute to a fantastic game! So glad you kept going to the end, I would deffo say using the Ring of Lucii in those later chapters is still classed as magic (so totally fine to use it) but well done for only using it a couple of times! Absolutely love this game, loved this video, thank you for your dedication and looking forward to your future videos too, have a great day 😊❤
I have most of the achievements for this game,I've completed it but I remember literally none of the game it made such little an impact on me. Watching this was far more entertaining
I actually think the story was emotionally investing at times with its characters but it’s definitely not the best story or gameplay of ff but definitely not the worst.
i will never stop applauding your creativity.... and also tenacity! another great video :) 100 hours is A LONG time to spend on one video, but the time spent is obvious in how high the quality is!!!!
Don't care about online reviews, chapter 13 is great, and so is the rest of the game. The ONLY problem this game has is being too easy. There are way to many exp quest rewards, the only way to not be over leveled is to skip every side quest. This game also had the BEST fishing mini game ive ever played😤
First video of yours i have watched and I am damn hooked. Sadly can't watch your Persona videos cause i intend to play through them myself so don't want to be spoiled but god damn i will once i have beaten them. I enjoyed FF15 as It was the first game I have played of the series which got me into all of FF and more jrpgs. Keep up the amazing work and can't wait to see what you get up to next.
Thank you very much for the kind words - it really keeps me motivated!! :) Hope you enjoy the Persona games. I'd highly recommend Persona 5 Royal first - it takes a couple of hours to get going, but the remaining 98+ hours will be some of the best gaming you've ever experienced. Enjoy!! 😀
I don't think warping counts as failing because technically you are using some sort of magic to a degree so I think the run is just fine if anything you made it harder buy not doing it
To answer the question about how I feel about the late game: I personally got a little frustrated because I realized (very late in the story) that I missed many missions and was missing some of the weapons from tombs. I took a long break from playing it and re-started the game and took my time. It ended up with me being over-leveled for most of the fights that I originally had trouble with. This made my eventual arrival to late game a lot smoother, and I was more attentive with how to use my team. The post release patches that were all implemented by the time I got back in the game also helped a lot. To give a bit of an idea of how long my break was with this game: I started it on the PS4, and left it, only to return to it on Xbox series S YEARS LATER cause the whole bundle of dlc etc was on sale for 20$ 🤷🏽♀️ hey, I eventually beat it, and enjoyed the game more with hindsight in play knowing not to go too far story wise before I complete side quests. Learned that if you keep up with the side quests, you can over level yourself. Also got to take a group photo with Aranea which was nice to add to the photo album. A bit sad that I didn’t get a full open world, but I enjoyed the game. I was a big enough fan to watch the anime and movie etc so I got to enjoy the intertwined story elements. I can see where people would just dislike it though. It’s still a favorite of mine, mostly because I’m bias and adore Prompto and Ignis. 😂
This run really brought back memories that i havent thought about since highschool. I really need to replay XV one day cuz the music and characters seem to age like wine
Thanks a lot! And yeah you definitely should - if you haven't played it since release then all of the patches etc make the experience very different to what it was.
Much respect. This is one of my very favourite games and I love doing challenge runs. I've only ever done a pure mage in a NG+ so I can make use of the ring, because I feel doing a mage WITHOUT the ring is insanity. I may give this run a go but I am not quite masochistic enough to have all those rules in. I'd have to put on the royal raiment, use the ring of resistence and grab some decent magic buff meals. I'll gladly do lvl 1 and no items. Unsure about the no weapons, I wouldn't use them but things like the trident of the oracle and sword of the father give a huge magic boost when equipped. Fascinating seeing you win the big fights without doing the QTE's. 27:08 One of my fave fan theories that kinda holds a little water is that THAT is Prompto's mother and the baby she talks of, is Prompto
I wanna like spells more in base FFXV but the system is so clunky and inconvenient that melee weapons just feel better to use. They actually do have a way to make magic better because in the multiplayer expansion there's actually a really good system for using and casting magic by giving you something basic for offence and defence before letting you pick out specific weapons to give you spells which is actually a really good system.
@@RPGchallengeruns If you have a friend(s) or people who are willing to go through it with you I'd say yes because otherwise you have A.I partners. Otherwise I'd say it's only really worth trying out for like two hours because I do think it's legitimately fun to go through because you have a weapon and stat system that is fun, but it can be extremely grindy. Especially if you don't have the Multiplayer loot multiplier.
I remember fighting the Malboror first time, and it just wouldn't die even though it got to 0. didn't realize you had to flee first then fight again XD nd I had used MAGIC for it lol
This game has many flaws but I love relaxing with this game. ❤ It was kinda disappointing that it didn’t reach it’s full potential but I enjoyed my time with it.
I got the game when it first came out and kid you not there was like 9 side quests in the whole game. Not only that there was no way to prevent friendly fire. That didn’t come until the update or 2 after. It was brutal.
@@RPGchallengeruns Also, be happy about this, the ring of Lucii in chapter 13 was painfully week. Only way I managed to beat the chapter was by spamming instant death because the suck health ability took years to kill. Also, great video btw.
Fun story about the cup noodle product placement: they werent actually sponsored its just that the cup noodle headquarters was in the building next door and the devs became friends with them so they put it in the game! :)
I'm just confused about the level 1 rule , having such low health , yeah it adds challenge but not in the same way to benefit the video. Still insanely impressive run
Story-focussed RPGs and Open-World are naturally exclusive. Other story focussed Open World games like Horizon show this pretty decently. As soon as you get some story, it is most likely you'll enter a linear dungeon. So the open world is only a giant hub area. Similarly Rockstar open world games lock you into a route on the open world making it a quasi dungeon. In general I have no problem with the giant hub approach, but developers should admit to it and embrace it more. In the end I liked what FFXV did because the story was, in the end, more important than the open world, especially since you really can't interact with it and the open world is just a facade/still a hub area. It doesn't matter which angle you try to engage encounters as they always will play out the same. Additionally, I think the Leviathan fight was pretty much close to perfect. When we entered Super Prince state for the first time, it was the one and only time I got literally chills from a game.
I wish this game had more cities and setpieces in it, each crafted dungeon was pretty neat to go through, but there's SOOOO many cool places that feel more like amusement park attractions with how little you're allowed to interact with anyone/anything. That it took a LONG time for them to make Insomnia any amount traversable is baffling to me. I was brought in by the honeyed words and eye candy trailers of Versus XIII for so long that I don't think XV could ever live up to what Nomura wanted, but the disastrous development hell of this game makes it sting that much worse for me. I like this game, but it's sad to think about what this game could have been...
I know you just did this. But can you beat kingdom hearts either 1 or 2. Only magic. No items. No changing equipment. (If 2) no drive forms And no summons
I really enjoyed ff15 hugely open world, sure, some linear parts, but even ff8 was linear at the end. Everything was stunning, I couldnt give a damn about the main team.. but.. the world was immersive enough that the characters didnt matter for me
fun fact (of pain): I played the chapter 7 dungeon without ANY of my party because they ended up getting stuck in one of the halls early on. that boss was a bitch and i hated it (and the fact that they all acted smug afterwards - they didn't do anything! they weren't even there!!!) it was a lonely road, and i prevailed.
Personally I don't feel the run is over if the game forces one of the rules to be broken and there is no way to circumvent it. As long as the challenge was reasonable to begin with, that is. If you start a FF XV challenge run where you're not supposed to collect any royal arms- for example- the run is moot because that's just not possible. You're not doing a challenge run at that point, you're just playing the game normally. If you were to limit or completely bar the use of royal arms instead however then that would be a totally valid run.
I'm so shocked you didn't have to play that one arcade mini game to make limit break magic. I spent way too many hours doing that since i was playing a more magic focused build myself, not a challenge run like you but my god it was soul crushing.
I have nostalgic feelings about the battle music, but every other memory about playing this game is pretty negative. I mean, it's a Final Fantasy so I have to love it (I'm a FF fanboy) but it is by far, my least favorite. However, I love hearing people talk positively about it. It's so cool getting to see folks enjoy playing it.
regarding the issure of chapter 9 onwards, i'm kinda unsure of my oppinion, after leviathan, i think it should've been an actual run towards the finish line, the problem is how to implement in a open world, if sqaure went with the prototype design style, the world would get progressively bleak towards the run, however that would create the same problem in which you kinda yearn to see the world bustling and peaceful once more but can't go back, maybe if there were more quests that needs to have you going back and forth between the past and present, it would seem more natural and less weird, like, say that in the present there's a broken piece of tech that you need to open a door, making you have to go back to the past and ask cindy to repair, especially if they were part of the main questline, that would make the system feel like a part of the game and less band-aid like
Guy your´re mad, once read a comment of this game if one get done this at level 7 would be their´re personal hero. So what you are, well a mad hero I guess. Never thought one could do it. THX for share this.
I loved the game. I'm actually on my third playthough (second run on LV 1) but yeah I didn't done the Only magic run. On my first LV1 run I did manage to destroy Omega (that was a pain in the ass) The only thing I didn't done in my previous run was the Menace Beneath Lucis sidequest. Anyway that was a really nice video man
i like FFXV, the late game is a little bit "meh" but story wise it's great, sadly, the worst thing that happened to it is that it was never finished xd what happens when you expect the dlcs to finish the game -.-
Hats off to you man! 🎉 I think Noctis' blink strike is intended to be the main combat type of the game; magic only supplementary. So your goal of using magic only was really difficult, taking much effort and dedication. But you pulled it off. It was so entertaining to watch the entire vid. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was another fantastic run Boss, can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. You asked how we felt about the open-world/linear crossover after Chapter 9 at 48:17 . I persanally liked the changeover, kinda gave me the feeling of "There's no time to mess around now, we gotta get this done". I did feel that this point of the game felt kinda "Rushed", and especially since there was a LOT of content/story/lore missing out of the base game that was only included later, such as Episode Prompto, since that had a fair bit of story content and lore. Though, that point could be made for the entirety of the game, it's just a shame this game was rushed for release, and even more so that they cancelled some of the DLC Episodes. Still, FFXV is one of my favourite games of all time, and was one of the first games I managed to get the Platinum trophy for. Solid 8.5/10
I'm currently doing a "Dark Souls" challenge in ffxv just for fun. It's weird. Mostly the rules are just no warp striking or airstepping, only 5 heals, downed counts as a death/reset, and only roll dodges. Wish I could limit my bros so they cant use guns and too much damage, but can only do so much.
This is the first video I've ever seen from you, but I'll say it's a pretty safe bet to think the rest of your channel must be great! Trully a man of focus, commitment and sheer fuc*ing will; and also quite funny jokes (the name your wife chose for your chocobo is perfect!)
I haven't finished watching yet, but who would ever think magic is underpowered or even useless? Magic is extremely unbalanced if not "spiffing Brit" unbalanced if you know what to do. Like If you're allowed to use one Artefact - it removes friendly firer - literally A lil exploit - reloading a chapter via select let's you farm invinit magic flasks. Element sports respawn infinity if you just camp or reload the area.
Huge discount for it on xbox recently so I finally jumped in and I'm having a blast. The auto drive function has been amazing for me specifically because it allows me to smoke a few bowls and chill looking at the gorgeous world design between hunts. I can already tell the moment I'm on the main story track I'm gonna be running through it straight to NG+ in no time =D
Hate to say it, but I think the names are one of the areas where it shows the game needed to ship rather than have care put into it. You have the royal family and their connections with the regal-sounding names, but Prompto is a commoner. And then you have the patriarch of the family in service to the royal guard, and his name is "Jared." You have the leader of the Hunter's Club (a pretty milquetoast name as well, given how important they are), "Dave." Square went to their LA office and was like "What's some American names we can use?" And they picked Dave and Jared.
Honestly I never really understood the hate with FFXV, considering it is one of my fave games ever. Although i do understand how ppl didn't like how linear late-game was. I wish the game was a little more open during late-game but the story and climax honestly satisfies me enough to not care at all LOL
FF 15 is such a cool and wierd game at the same time...The concept alone was new ground for a FF game, a semi open world with real time action gameplay... And it works good...more or less sometimes. The thing that disapointed me the most was the Storystructure and progression. Alone that we spend no time at all with Luna feels really bad XD It they changed a lot from the trailers we've seen before. It had could have needed some more time in the oven. But hey, some of the FF15 we never get, might get into KH4 XD after that resembling Trailer.
Nice video, but I think the biggest achievement this video showcased was documenting what the game over screen looks like on video because no one has ever seen that before.
Well speedruners already abuse magic since it's busted, but you add your personal twist on it with some rules, but I came here to have FUN lol! (I'm surprised to see someone else than me saying that 😂).

Most of the hate is misdirected grief. The game radically changed during production, and some people just couldn’t get past that.

I always think that in challenge runs in games if you’re forced to do something with no way around it, it’s still fine. It’s all about having fun and I would rather see more of a game done under a arbitrary self imposed rule set than say a run failed cause the game offered no other way around.
Well said, I totally agree with you.

Same lol
It's not? I thought this is a high production april fools joke run ngl
Perhaps
As a person that doesnt give a damn about April Fools (mainly because I dont have friends to fool or be fooled by), I didnt even think about that 😅
Lol thanks for this run. Never expected people to have these kinds of challenges for this. I do wonder how Noctis appears to the NPCs with his cowardly but magical tactics. 😂
Yeah I don't think they'd want to see a man become a king when he's shaking in fear behind a rock! XD
I definitely agree, mandatory warp strikes don't count
Same with FFXIII, I loved this game too and they both get notoriously bad wraps. It’s just different strokes for different blokes at the end of the day. Ofc I wished they had done certain things but that was down to personal taste. I did still end up balling my eyes out the end which is a good FF game to me. Sank loads of hours into it which is also another thing I look for in a good FF game. And congrats on the video that’s mega impressive 🎉
Agreed, every FF game is amazing in its own way. You're right, it's just down to taste. And thanks, I appreciate the kind words! :)
31:28 Magitek troopers tend to drop if you stay in an area for too long so I think your car ride finished and your characters just stood there for awhile, triggering them. Exceptions exists such as heavily forested areas where dropping troops down would be a bad idea
Honestly FFXV is bittersweet to me
It has some of the best worldbuilding and story beats of any FF title before it. But for some reason, all of that is kept hidden via the movie, the anime, the friggin MOBILE GAME, and random story books found in bus benches.
It could have been the best FF to date if it had just embraced its story telling in a more honest and singular, easy to digest format
100% agree with this. Supplemental media should ADD to a game's story, not replace it.
That was so cool what happened to Titan. I never new that event would happen if you wait long enough.
And it’s “cooler” than regularly fighting it.
Totally agree. When Gladio is forced to relent against Titan when you fail to point-warp it's a very scary moment!
Haha yeah that's a really good approach to have!
if that's the best approach to take then the story is shit ?
I mean honestly to each his own but that chapter is in my opinion, objectively dogshit, and Squenix knew as much too since they adjusted it. First half is correct though, story might not be good but it's about the journey not the destination
One of your best so far. You did a great job utilizing the area to give yourself enough breathing space to fight a lot of these bosses.
Welp, here's my sign to start a new run of this game lol love the dedication to these challenges
Really appreciate the ffxv challenge for once someone is playing this game
I actually really like it (or at least what it was first supposed to be)
Edit : my tip for this game is get founder king’s sigil and regalia f , the game really gets fun then
Yeah it's a super fun game, I'm glad there are lots of people out there who also really like it. Thanks for coming along for the ride! 😀
It's the most sold sp ff game
All of your different approaches revealed pretty interesting cutscenes, like with Arenea staggering when crashing into the metal. So cool!
Yeah it was really interesting to see those kinds of things!
Thanks for coming along for the ride! :)
That makes sense, yeah! 🙂
Yeah, it's not a problem for me. Now FFXIII on the other hand... Corridor simulator.
Yeah they could have done so much more with magic in this game.
I loved chapter 13 so much because it was like a horror game. The mood was set really well and the ring of the Lucii was so OP!
I think we might be the only 2 in existence.
The issue is that the ring is too powerful. Once I noticed I could just squeeze the enemies to death it took away all the tension of the setting.
@@antoineguerrier2965the jump scares though and some strong enemies spawning made it tense still.
I still need to replay this game one day. I've only ever played the day 1, prepatch version and the ring was utter garbage then.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
So happy this wasn’t an April fools joke lol
Final Fantasy 15 is one of my favorite games it’s great to see a challenge run of it!
dont lie. everyone loves Arenea dominating us in fights.
Still don't know what the backstory with that Naga is. Why does it talk to us? What does it want?
That chapter 7 fight made me quit the game too. I wasn't even doing a challenge I just didn't like losing 2 hours of my life.
Yeah that's fair, it's certainly a nasty one!
Why would you do this as a level 1? Please don't destroy your sanity with a stunt like that again. A magic only run by itself would have been plenty entertaining.
April Fools Day = Maximum number of restrictions :)
Also, because some people were complaining that I just grind to a higher level every time I hit a roadblock, so this was my way of telling those people to sit down! XD
Nah the mandatory warps are not a fail!
Thanks, that makes sense! :)
Lmao! I already know this is going to be a troll for April Fools. But I'm actually excited. I've been looking for videos on people doing magic only for FFXV.
Hope you were pleasantly surprised then! ;)
@@RPGchallengeruns MASSIVELY!!! lol I still can't believe it though. I'm glad you didn't give up!
You can skip camping at the beginning, so run invalid, restart. (but seriously, this challenge seems like it was painful, absolute madlad)
I love FF XV but I really hate its 'bomb' magic system. Honestly the Comrades has a way better system. Thumbs up for your patience. Good job. 👍
Totally agree, and thank you! 😀

"Ugh, ugh! Ah! Ugh! Ahh! Dun dun dun dun dun da da da!

Thanks a lot! I hope to keep improving the videos over time. Honestly, looking back at my older videos makes me cringe! XD
Spoiler:
From my understanding, the timeskip is basically because of Noctis being trapped inside the crystal till he can accept his fate and the role he needs to play going forward.
Same for me
I actually think the story was emotionally investing at times with its characters but it’s definitely not the best story or gameplay of ff but definitely not the worst.
This was ffxvi for me
i will never stop applauding your creativity.... and also tenacity! another great video :) 100 hours is A LONG time to spend on one video, but the time spent is obvious in how high the quality is!!!!
Did you know? The game actually wasn''t sponsored by cup noodle. They just ate so much of it, they decided to throw it in for free.
Wait, really?!!
I really liked ff 15 but hated the last few chapters.
I'm with you there! The rushed development really started to show towards the end.
Hope you enjoy the Persona games. I'd highly recommend Persona 5 Royal first - it takes a couple of hours to get going, but the remaining 98+ hours will be some of the best gaming you've ever experienced. Enjoy!! 😀
I really never thought i'd ever see an high quality ffxv Challenge run with good editing.
next do final fantasy 12 zodiac age guns only
That's actually a really good suggestion!!
I don't think warping counts as failing because technically you are using some sort of magic to a degree so I think the run is just fine if anything you made it harder buy not doing it
That's a good way of putting it. Thanks! :)
That ending still hits different (although I think I'm just a sucker for bittersweet endings)
For me its a bit too much on the bitter side
@@Tony_409 "everyone died, the end"

To answer the question about how I feel about the late game:
I personally got a little frustrated because I realized (very late in the story) that I missed many missions and was missing some of the weapons from tombs.
To give a bit of an idea of how long my break was with this game: I started it on the PS4, and left it, only to return to it on Xbox series S YEARS LATER cause the whole bundle of dlc etc was on sale for 20$
🤷🏽♀️ hey, I eventually beat it, and enjoyed the game more with hindsight in play knowing not to go too far story wise before I complete side quests.
I think this is the video that made me realise that I want a cooking tutorial series voiced by Ignis.
Yes!! This needs to happen!! XD
You keep saying we, who are we?
Sounds kinda plural to me ngl.

This run really brought back memories that i havent thought about since highschool. I really need to replay XV one day cuz the music and characters seem to age like wine
Good stuff bro , your patience is incredible, but the game is def amazing , been wanting to replay it.
Mate, I randomly came across this and just 2 minutes into the video I appreciated the effort that must have gone into this 👏🏽
Thanks, I appreciate you checking it out! :)
honestly if you can get to earning the ring you deserve to be able to use that f this challenge run this would drive me insane
Oh don't worry, it drove ME insane!! XD
Thanks though. This was a really tough one!
That's good to know, I never got around to playing the multiplayer expansion. Is it worth giving it a shot?
@@RPGchallengeruns If you have a friend(s) or people who are willing to go through it with you I'd say yes because otherwise you have A.I partners. Otherwise I'd say it's only really worth trying out for like two hours because I do think it's legitimately fun to go through because you have a weapon and stat system that is fun, but it can be extremely grindy. Especially if you don't have the Multiplayer loot multiplier.
I had that ignis invisible glitch too. He wasn't completely invisible. He was like an ethereal ghost
Ooh even more spooky!! 👻
I remember fighting the Malboror first time, and it just wouldn't die even though it got to 0. didn't realize you had to flee first then fight again XD nd I had used MAGIC for it lol
Yeah the game's instructions are very unclear! XD
This game has many flaws but I love relaxing with this game. ❤ It was kinda disappointing that it didn’t reach it’s full potential but I enjoyed my time with it.
Well said, I totally agree with that sentiment.
I got the game when it first came out and kid you not there was like 9 side quests in the whole game. Not only that there was no way to prevent friendly fire. That didn’t come until the update or 2 after. It was brutal.
Yeah this game on launch day was... not great 😅
@@RPGchallengeruns Also, be happy about this, the ring of Lucii in chapter 13 was painfully week. Only way I managed to beat the chapter was by spamming instant death because the suck health ability took years to kill. Also, great video btw.
Would love to see more Final Fantsy content, especially 10 and 10-2!
Coming up!
Still insanely impressive run
awesome content once again RPG Challenge Runs :D MASSIVE DAMAGE never gets old. your dedication and the fun you have is contagious
Thanks! Kind comments like yours keep me motivated, so again, thank you! :)
Yeah totally agree that the Leviathan fight was amazing. There are very few moments as good as that in gaming!
Ignis can't see you, you can't see Ignis
I know you just did this. But can you beat kingdom hearts either 1 or 2.
Only magic.
No items.
No changing equipment.
(If 2) no drive forms
And no summons
Yeah we definitely need to see some Kingdom Hearts on the channel. Stay tuned! :)
I really enjoyed ff15 hugely open world, sure, some linear parts, but even ff8 was linear at the end.
Everything was stunning, I couldnt give a damn about the main team.. but.. the world was immersive enough that the characters didnt matter for me
Yeah the FFXV world is really something special.
fun fact (of pain): I played the chapter 7 dungeon without ANY of my party because they ended up getting stuck in one of the halls early on. that boss was a bitch and i hated it (and the fact that they all acted smug afterwards - they didn't do anything! they weren't even there!!!) it was a lonely road, and i prevailed.
Hahaha that's hilarious! XD
Yeah the AI are pretty stupid in this game and love to get themselves stuck.
That's a good way of putting it, yeah. Totally agree. 👍
That's really admirable of you to dislike a game but still enjoy seeing other people liking it. Thanks for checking out the video! 😀
regarding the issure of chapter 9 onwards, i'm kinda unsure of my oppinion, after leviathan, i think it should've been an actual run towards the finish line, the problem is how to implement in a open world, if sqaure went with the prototype design style, the world would get progressively bleak towards the run, however that would create the same problem in which you kinda yearn to see the world bustling and peaceful once more but can't go back, maybe if there were more quests that needs to have you going back and forth between the past and present, it would seem more natural and less weird, like, say that in the present there's a broken piece of tech that you need to open a door, making you have to go back to the past and ask cindy to repair, especially if they were part of the main questline, that would make the system feel like a part of the game and less band-aid like
Guy your´re mad, once read a comment of this game if one get done this at level 7 would be their´re personal hero.
So what you are, well a mad hero I guess.
Never thought one could do it. THX for share this.
You're welcome. Thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate you coming along for the ride!! :)
Brilliant video - my main question is why is Prompto spanking Noctis at 1:03:46 - there's a time and place and that seems like neither...
😂😂!!
Anyway that was a really nice video man
Thanks a lot, and congrats on beating Omega!!
If you really want to struggle Maybe try something like beating nocturne solo on hardest difficulty with no items in Japanese lol
Hahahaha! XD
i like FFXV, the late game is a little bit "meh" but story wise it's great, sadly, the worst thing that happened to it is that it was never finished xd what happens when you expect the dlcs to finish the game -.-
I don’t think it’s pronounced Quezt-ul-COAT-al but COT-al
Ahh right, thanks!
You can use Cup Noodles to craft healcast
That would have been wise! I tried not to do any self-healing for the whole run though. :)
Hats off to you man! 🎉 I think Noctis' blink strike is intended to be the main combat type of the game; magic only supplementary. So your goal of using magic only was really difficult, taking much effort and dedication. But you pulled it off. It was so entertaining to watch the entire vid. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
13:58 im always a fun of savage moments like this especially when they include making fun of tik tok :]
Ah you caught that one, huh? 😉
You are insane, and I tip my hat to you for it.
Wow that sounds awesome! You definitely get points for originality. Good luck! 👍

Alone that we spend no time at all with Luna feels really bad XD
It they changed a lot from the trailers we've seen before. It had could have needed some more time in the oven.
But hey, some of the FF15 we never get, might get into KH4 XD after that resembling Trailer.
Some of the most positive coverage of this game I've personally seen lol. Great run as usual though ^_^
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Hope to see you next time. :)
Thanks, that's great to hear! :)
@@RPGchallengeruns it was really entertaining and before the middle of the video I already subbed, you deserve 👍🏼

In all seriousness, thanks. I really appreciate you! 👍

Appreciate you!!!! :)
