Final Fantasy 8, a game most people just stay low level to gain stat bonuses later on, sure you can reach max stats that way with junctions but thats puny and weak. what if you wanted to actually be the most overpowered monster in existence?

Qualty content 👍
Keep pumping out FF8 content an I'll be here every time.
Do you know that you can get the Lionheart early in Disc One before Edea?
For 100k Legends of Dragoon playthrough?
I lost all my friends and family to the grind. It was with it. 👍
My favorite thing about FF8 is how balanced it is.
gotta love breaking the game before the tutorial
Jason but you don't actually love it. Amirite? Har har
🤣🤣🤣 still one of my faves
I missed ifrit help
My favourite thing about FF8 is how unbalanced it is.
Imagine Seifer defeating countless enemies in the Dollet mission while Squall & Zell eat dirt for hours on end then being denied to become a SEED. xD
I always thought it was crazy, It's implied Seifer had already had much more combat mission experience, and Squall Zell and Selphie were on their first combat mission in the field. So he technically had done this he just wasn't a team player. Honestly I think Seifer should've been the main character, I love Squall, but a total extrovert asshole would be an awesome main FF character. I mean he even changes by the end! Rinoa could've even saved him from the Sorceress' mind control, kinda like Tifa saves Cloud and Marle saved Crono. I mean Zidane was extrovert, but he was also like a dashing rogue Han Solo type, not really a "mean" spirited character. Lightning was too stoic and boring and Tidus was too nice and annoying. This is partially why 6 and 9 are the best, to me. Characters+story. But everyone's different.
lmaoooo
@@GG256_ 6 was phenomenal in terms of the main protagonist and main antagonist. Kefka is a villain witb quite the colorful personality (no thanks to being a court jester) and Terra was still a bit mysterious even as you recover her memories. Among the old gen FF, 6 and 2 (imo) deserve a remake. I still want to see Ricard Highwind, the last dragoon, in a 3d model.
OMG lmao no wonder he flips the fuck out
@@fralion0714 The sarcastic vibe of final fantasy got lost between the 7 and the 9 and it never came back. It's an emo franchise now and it has nothing to do with what it had. There are some redeeming narative stuffs in FF XIV but it's well under a big pile of shit that most player skip.
I like how you speak to us like we're all insane enough to actually try all of this ourselves 😂
I kept making note of this as well.
I've done it. But I didn't follow this one. I did one that had me farming adamantorties. Its just boring is the worst part. (Basically a part of this was running alongside near cactuar Island too. And fighting them for gf abilities.)
@@mariawhite7337 I did similar things as well with emulation and speed settings. Never would I on a old-school ps1, but I did BEAT the game first on ps1 and love it
I followed his Zodiac Age and FF7 videos
*hold my beer* imma try this!
God Bless Primal Liquid. Incredible content of an eternally cherished decade of gaming. May no squal or cloud hinder your good fortune!
Much appreciated!
It would be nice if you just showed us some random battles or even the final battle itself to see the real max power of that team in this video! that hard work you've made needs a show
Good comment
"I don't like Quistis" Never have I heard more offensive a phrase muttered
Try writing you "do not like Selphie" in a FF8 forum and you can expect an army of simps aiming at your throat.
@@fralion0714 Oh I know, as I don't like Selphie
What if I dont like quistis or selfie?
@@watchthischannel331 that, is a really good question.
@@fralion0714 ok well just to clarify: do I like Selphie? No not really. But do I depend on her Full Cure ability to get me through every boss fight? UNEQUIVOCALLY YES. Lol
This is the most painful thing Ive ever seen someone do. You absolute madlad.
I hope to god he does the strategy, enough to make a video and show it, and then proceeds to get the rest of the items using cheats instead of grinding out 500 hours in a game for a video :P don't get me wrong, I love grinding and might do something like this, but making a youtube channel out of grinding 100-500+ hours once or twice a month plus other videos is... insane.
dont worry he cheated the entire time.
I totally agree.
He did it so you don't have to.
You ever watch a runescape video?
Alt title: "Guy shows how tedious FF8 stat maxing can be and goes insane doing it."
you can do it in less than 5 hours with the remaster.
MOst of the stats are overrated as Fuck.
You only need HP Strength, defense and magic defense everything else is garbage and waste of time
@@vollkerball1 Yeah, when you consider the fact that you can turn Tents into 100Curaga literally right after the Dollet mission it not only makes other stats seem meaningless it really makes them irrelevant altogether. Why bother junctioning when you you could just win through attrition because you just have so much HP? Music is still great, though. lmao
It's far less tedious than the shit you have to do in FF7 at least.
@@nintendogamer3227 I'd argue its more tedious, Triple Triad isn't hard, but getting good cards super early is damn infuriating, in FF7 there's usually a spot recommended to grind AP for materia on each continent.
@@bayardkyyako7427 True but FF7 doesn't have a system that lets you use your inventory to great affect like FF8 does. Once you've gotten the Refine abilities it gives you more options to acquire items & such for stat boosting etc. other than just drops & mugging.
Simply wow. I genuinely didn't think that there was anything more I could have done in my playthroughs. You are a monster and deserve the title of the final fantasy king.
For real
This has probably been mentioned, but GF's can still gain xp and learn abilities on a dead character.
And they gain it faster, if you have 3 GF on one character and get 3AP each GF will get 1AP, but if each GF is on a separate character then they will get 3AP each. Basically the character get the AP which is then divided by how many GF that character has equipped
@The Monster Under Your Bed I apologise, you are right I was thinking of exp for GFs, sleep deprived mind just remembered there was a reason not to stack GFs on Siefer, best to give him Ifrit tho as he needs to be lvl 10 to learn ammo refine same as Siren needs to be lvl 100 to refine dark matters (although I've been told that has been changed in the remasters)
FF8 was actually my first FF I ever played, so it still has a special place in my heart.
But as "fun" as this sounds, I feel like you are OP enough if you just get all junctions to 3 characters and max all stats (or get them as high as possible in case of Eva), and you still just run over every boss in the game... and that takes enough time already.
Yes, trying not to level, gathering some cards and junction magics make for a chill game experience and you are still op. The benefits is you don't need to have random encounters and can go from boss to boss battle. only thing necessary is the grind with seifer to max your gf, and some carding of enemies.
Imagine Cid in real life berating Squall and Company for spending literal days on that single mission in Dollet. He definitely would of failed all of them from becoming seeds.
Sure, but in real life this strategy wouldn't be necessary to improve as a SEED candidate.
"If you happen to still be alive while Berserk is unfinished please DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS"
Irvine's quick shot doing 9999 damage per shot with a turbo controller on OG ps in 1999. The best times.

"I iz hardcore player?"
I absolutely love FF8. I wish the "remaster" had actually been worthwhile.
I can recite this game and it's secrets from memory. But holy hell... 500 hours is... Unhealthy.
What are your thoughts on making a video of you fighting the final boss with this party? I would very much enjoy watching her get wrecked!
I was thinking this too! All that time spent getting OP and then never showing how OP you got.
That would probably be a very short video :P
i did consider showing off some fights but i figured there wouldnt be a whole lot of point given people have probably fought with max stats using junctions ect before because honestly this is probably the one 1 FF game where max stats dont really do much compared to say like 180 in stats
@@Primalliquid92
I haven't played a lot of the games you make videos for. I watch them because I like seeing the manipulation of mechanics you're doing to become OP.
So, seeing the payoff would be appreciated, at least for people like me. :P
@@Primalliquid92 Would have been fun nevertheless ^^
I used Devour + Lvlup/Lvldown for most of the stats.
I had a sticky note on the wall behind my pc titled: "SeeD Diet"
In it was a list of permanently gainable stats with devour, which monsters to eat and at what monster level range, and the areas to find them.
Do you recon that that strategy is faster? Asking for a friend.
Another Overpowered video? Is this my Thanksgiving present?!
think of it as a special run up to christmas that ive been preparing for all year :)
Want to be even more overpowered :
-Get 100 Holy Wars by Refining Gilgamesh Card 10 times, now you are officially Invincible ^^
I've done that also!
Damn, that is so overkill. Lol
I've got just one word for you, Primalliquid:
Game. Shark.
That’s two... is he supposed to pick one?
he obviously picked the game. xD
i love both of these replies haha
Imagine if Squall and the others had kids in the future and they ask how they got so strong. By playing cards and using monsters that mess with your mind.
Though fun fact about the card ability: It counts as a kill towards the Tornberry's Everyone's Grudge.
I think that's what the ability was called as it dealt more damage to the character the more enemies they killed.
I had squall card every enemy and no one else do when it used that skill on my other members, it did 0 damage save for Squall who was hit for Max damage.
Dude, this is insane. I wish I had that time and patience.
"...and you've probably lost all friends and family due to your grinding condition. " ...died laughing at that little gem.
WOW, huge respect for making this dude.
“This grind is over 500 hours”
Runescape players: hold my exp lamp
im one of those weird people who never played runescape haha
Lol you should check out the falador massacre
No rs here either. I played FFXI and loved every year of it. Best Endgame of them all imo.
Absolute madness, nice job! 8 was my first Final Fantasy; I've played through it a dozen times at least, and I'm certain this one OP playthrough had more hours than my entire combined playtime on the game
FF8 has been my favorite Final Fantasy for the longest time. Even though 10 is now my favorite, 8 will always have a place in my heart.
i think 8 is honestly quite underrated given the "dislike" it gets online
Finalmagus I can appreciate it. It has its high points. But it 75% of the game is made pointless by the fact that you have to avoid all exp until the end of disc 3. I felt like the story was awful until ellone let's squall see rinoas memories.
I don't know why but the Scan ability showing little pokedex entries for the monsters really sealed the deal for 8 being my favorite when I was younger.
@@alanlee67 You DON'T have to avoid all exp until the end of disc 3. I never did.
@@scatterkeir Word, I always hit Lvl 100 as soon as I could. The island closest to Hell was my bitch
Being Lv 100 makes you weaker in this game, even with max stats your are weaker than max stats and being lowest level sadly.
Only against random battles tho isn’t it? Because bosses are locked at their levels.
@@eliminoh_p7877 No bosses are level scaled too except Omega Weapon.
Love your channel! Final Fantasy has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was a kid so seeing these videos are always nostalgic for me!
Glad you like them!
i love the fact that square was willing to go so different and innovate their systems so much for ffvii
but the execution of the details was not so good.
junctioning 100 of each magic is insanely boring, even when sped up in an emulator. you're not told your magic stat helps draw more each turn, which means it should be pumped the highest and asap. and you're basically encouraged to never cast your best spells since each one Ultima or Curaga spent drops a valueable stat by a LOT. then if you do use a spell, guess what? time to go hunt down the source of it to get it back to 100...
FF8 is my fave game of all time and seeing how deep all the mechanics are in this game makes me extremly happy 😭❤
@@akiinmoonlight79 underrated game mechanics… far ahead of its time
Cottages is pronounced Cottajes, just an FYI.
'apart from omega weapon because you actually still need to know the strategy for that fight'
ahaha holy war go woosh
@1412 Or put 2 character in Defend, they'll take 0 damage from Terra Break, or put Zombie and Protect to divide damage of Terra Break by 4.
@1412 Omega Weapon has a set pattern the only thing random is his normal attack, the rest is set as follow :
-LV5 Death
-Meteor
-Megido Flame
-Gravija
-Terra Break
-Ultima
-Light Pillar
Back to meteor.
the ultimate cheese is actually using a potion on him every turn. for whatever reason this stunloops him indefinitely. but obv you need a character who outspeeds him
@@Bramhallthefifth Yeah I know about that but I think this is just a cheap tactic, and it look more like a glitch than anything else.
2:12 Right off the bat, you're doing it wrong. Everyone assumes that Guardian forces only level up on people who are living, That's wrong, and you're cutting your effectiveness of grinding to 33%.
except for the fact i didnt care about the exp, i cared about AP which as an fyi the character needs to be alive for them to gain, cant remember if it was that way on the original but it is for the remaster
I hope you didn’t actually max your luck on all characters. It doesn’t even do anything for squall.
yes i did because thats the point of being the "most overpowered possible"
@@Primalliquid92 Absolute madman.... but absolutely awesome
@@Primalliquid92 you have unrelenting patience then.
I love Quistis TwT
FF8 was my first FF and kinda the most favorite, closely followed by FFX
Same here. 13 year old me was absolutely blown away. It was my first ever JRPG too. Seemed like nothing short of a masterpiece. It gives me chills thinking about when I played it for the first time
SAME
@@chrismac4441 dude same here. I was about 12 or so when it came out and I remember seeing the art style and character design and being floored by it, but at the same time not understanding what a JRPG was. So I started it up, instantly falling in love with the opening cinematic. From there I skipped all the tutorials (I have ADHD and get easily overwhelmed by too many instructions without any context) thinking they probably weren’t too important. I stumbled through Ifrit’s cavern, then proceeded to Dollet, where I got all the way to Elvoret and was defeated every time. I tried this battle no less than 80 times, sometimes starting over from the beginning of the game, skipping the tutorials every time. But I was always puzzled by the fact that any screenshot I saw of the game showed the characters having more command options than just Attack. So eventually I started the game over again and thought, you know what, just for the hell of it let’s actually check out the tutorials this time. A lot of the stuff still went over my head but the most important thing I learned was how to junction GFs, allowing me to summon them against enemies and use multiple commands including the ability to heal through magic spells, items, or draw. You can imagine how eye opening of an experience this was as I already loved the game when I thought it was limited to Attacking or Escaping. Now I could take on Elvoret with ease and the rest was history....until I got to Adel. Was stuck on her for months until i figured out how to kill her without destroying Rinoa
I started doing this on the remaster when it came out and after 100 card games to get Irvine’s card I was like wow I’m 29 I have better things to do lol
Man the time and grind you put into making these videos is crazy! My hat is off to you! Have been playing Final Fantasy since I was a kid and have never even thought of doing something like this 😂
Glad you like them!
Primal back at it again with these overpowered videos! FF8 did not get enough recognition considering how amazing it was. Good story and gameplay, just unbalanced as all hell. Still a unique and fun experience every FF fan should have.
Your dedication to the FF series is unreal
I never stat maxed an ff game. But my first time playing 7 I missed the bit about getting a chocobo and ground until I could kill the giant snake in the sand. Rest of the game was pretty cake.
Awww I was expecting an actual fight with some major boss just to show how overpowered this is 😆
Same... that was basicaly a waste of a grind, if he did grind and just no cheat engine to get all items.
I knew immediately you were about to create stat boost items, that's something I did myself (except for Luck and Speed). However, I had no idea that I could card mod the Eden card for Strength, I did that with bought items too, so TIL. What I don't understand though, why do you teach your GFs Junction abilities for stats that you already maxed, like, where's the point in that? Or is that just completionism? :D
its just completionism pretty much, like theres no reason to but theres also no reason not to and this is all about being over the top haha
Always love seeing these. Any chance we could get a crono cross video at some point? I might be the only one asking though
Seconded Chrono Cross! Don't know how breakable it is, but I'd love to find out.
Third Chrono Cross vote.
The most I've ever down is a no leveling game, and I don't EVER want to play that many games of cards again!
When a duck goes quack, the planet moves one inch forward.
Final fantasy 15 overpowered series
Just wanna add that you can also junction Death as status attack to everyone. Additionally, you told us not to get Odin earlier, but you should definitely go back and get Odin after you're done stat-maxing. Also, I know this video is about stat-maxing, but since you gave all the GFs their magic junction abilities, you could save potentially hundreds of hours of grinding by just using magic to cap out all stats and then use the Stat-Up items to bridge the difference and bring them to 255. Brings you to the same result in terms of capability. Could also use the StatBonus abilities mentioned in the intro to further reduce the number of Stat-Up items you need to grind for.
Change the title to " The worst way to get full stats in FFVIII"
Why be min lvl if the only important thing is max stats?
Junction a GF with atrib up(Cactuar), kill the other 2 and get to lvl 100. THEN and ONLY then do all the atrib farm until max lvl. You'll save hundreds of hours.
The point was facerolling everything. Since enemies scale with level, its easier to faceroll them at level 7 as opposed to 100
clearly missed the ENTIRE point of the video
There is a complicated way to do angelo search. Based on what you get you can cycle through turns to speed up the next search.
Its tricky and you need to look at a 200+ item list and there are multiple paths per item. If you know what your doing it can be cut down an item every minute or so
this is my way of life now
You are amazing, thanks for all the great videos
why would you get all the junction abilities fir the stats that you've maxed?
Man, doing this on a ps1 without the remaster x3 speed or emulation xspeed would be NUTS
I personally liked Kwurstus as a character.
FF8 is weird because there are so many ways to get READY to break the next cool toy you get. You break the game but you're always missing just a little something all the way to the end. It's pretty cool.
My favorite game of all time. Mastered it before reaching age 25. After maxing out all of my stats and stuff, It dawned on me that once you can kill omega weapon in 7 minutes, there is no longer a threat in the game. 5 lion hearts, of course. Lol. Still, this game was my first Final Fantasy, and I got it in a trade for WWF smackdown 2: know your role. Best trade ever!
FFVIII is in my top 3, come fight me.
I'm actually working on doing this myself, for a perfect save file. However, also in the save file, I can't let any characters die or escape any battles (other than the forced one) since those are tracked. So, I had to eat a few level ups, until I learned Card and got Tonberry for LVL Down. Also in my file, I have to get Gilgamesh, so I'm on Disc 3, until I've received the Angelo Search items and can run off to get Odin. So my run is a bit different, but still quite insane. I did get to LV 100 with the bonuses equipped though, just to save myself time maxing out those stats with items (since I had to get to LV 100 regardless). Cool thing I found though, you're always forced to have a party of 3, except in Balamb Garden, if you go to Squall's room and tell him you want to be alone. Then he can go to the Balamb Training Center and get to LV 100 by himself. That way, he's at LV 100 and the other 2 characters with him can level up with the bonuses and nobody misses out (since I can't KO them).
I'm doing an FF8 perfect save file at the moment where I have no characters dying. Here I was thinking that nobody else had ever thought about that hahahahaha, I googled it and couldn't see anyone mention it anywhere on the internet til I saw this comment now
You can farm curse spike from Triface in the garden battle. Farm on the hall before you face Ede for the final time. Use Move-Find to reveal a save point there. Reset everytime after you encounter Triface (don't forget to save first). You'll guaranteed to encounter Triface everytime. Though you'll still need until you get to Bahamut before you can refine them into Ultima. But at least you can get Quistis' ultimate blue magic earlier.
You're a mad lad. Personally, I'm OK with "time saving." E.g., instead of playing Dice Poker 200 times in the Witcher to get 20,000 Orens, I have no qualms about just editing the save and giving myself 20,000 Orens; it's not "cheating" as it's completely possible to do in game.... it's just tedious and repetitive enough I have no problem just giving myself the reward and saying I did it, because I've already logged hundreds of dice poker games over the playthroughs of that game as it is.
see im the other way around, for me i have to have that feeling of "i earned this" whenever i do it
@@Primalliquid92 And I often wonder how you have a life given the content you do. I love your content, but better you doing the grinding than me lol 😀
been waiting for this one haha. just picked FF8 up again...this time on switch lol
I did the exact same thing a few years ago and that took me around 2 years to complete (not a straight 2 years) but it is more like a daily/weekly grind when I feel like it. Because let's be honest, every manual part is extremely boring except for maybe the shop exploit (which you can technically use programmed macros with the right controller or emulator)
It is very satisfying but I agree that you'll still need a strategy for Omega
Found this video late....but I've done this before but not to your extreme.
Everybody is 255 stats. Triple/Tornado to Eva or Hit depending if it can be junctioned.
Counter, Auto-Shell, Auto-Protect, Ribbon for everyone.
I junctioned Meteor to HP to start with limit breaks without maxing HP out.
Ultima, Full-Life, Life, Shell to ST-A/D Stats
Slow, Death, Pain, Holy, Reflect to EL-A/D Stats
Character levels:
Squall 16
Irvine 14
Zell 14
Selphie 12
Rinoa 11
Quistis 10
It does look like I forgot GF abilities and taught them the OP stuff but I'm not sure about this already.
Wtf....I did GF affinity as well...
Things to improve.
I didn't get my Minotaur card back, and I don't have all cards.
Strategy for omega weapon ehehe
Selphie : use The End , to one tap Omega ....or anything really ...except RubRumDragon lv 99 on island close to hell cause it's bugged and you always miss 😅
Yeah, that's sick. Way to go, Primal, you're officially one of the most patient people I've ever seen!

The sheer amount of items and features that underly this game, just blows my mind.
its like that with alot of FF titles tbh, so many under used items and systems
@@Primalliquid92 when I played as a kid I honestly never used items or played the card game I just kinda went at it, hack and slash style. It’s a massive learning curve for sure
My friend played through the almost the whole game with 2 characters dead, only Selphie fighting. Using "The End" on every right till her TE skill was almost 100% success rate. Only story enemies were immune, every one else was 1 hit.
Back when I was a kid, I found that myself hehe, but gave out immediately after realizing the sheer amount of time that I would need.
i remember having all my characcters on lvl100 9999 and 255 STATS on my ps2x emulator but I didnt able to finish it coz on the final boss when I defeated i the game crashes. haha

It's a way to get a hard challenge or it's easier? Also do you get better stuff without lvling up?

Brutally impressive videos. I love these. Would you consider doing Chrono Trigger/Cross? I imagine the latter would be insane.
Possibly!
I want to ask: "How can you not gaining any experience from the fight at Missile Base ????? "
You may gain a little bit of exp which is not to the point of leveling up from that fight but in the video, your digits in "Current EXP" and "Next LEVEL" of every single characters are so round and perfect !!!!
Does the Randomizer mod do that ?????
I am new to the channel so tell me what I don't know , I will be appreciated about that !!!
Why do you talk that way?
I don't know about FF8, but FF7 Sephiroth did 0 damage to my entire party through all his forms. Is that overpowered enough?
The ONLY Final Fantasy I ever stat-maxed, and made OP weapons and armor in was FFX. I also maxed all the blitzballers on my team: Tidus, Brother, Edgar, and 3 of the other original Aurochs, but not Wakka. I wanna say Keepa and Jassu were 2 of them, blanking on the 3rd.
I'm waiting for the speedrun of this.
can destroy everything but omega weapon lol, yeah he's a beast that takes a lot of strategy.. can't remember how many retries i had to beat omega.. at least 15-20.
I just found your channel, good stuff man. FF8 and elden ring are my favorite games, definitely a fan of your content!
Bro, I can't believe you maxed all to 255 without junctions. Madlad. I just refined for a single +1 str and was like, "There's no way anyone has actually committed to this." I was wrong.
Stat up farming is a pain in ff8 but I did max out all stats in ffx and I don't know why. The easiest stat up farming was in ff7. I think they are the only 3 ff games that have stat boosters that can be maxed out. IIRC ff6 has one but its esper based.

Good video, and I don't mean any harm by this, it just sounds silly given the situation.
it would essentially just be an extra 20 health healed at most hence i dont even bother to refine the life and reflect magic needed
If i understand it right, you have stat max every single Value to Max with X-Plus Items... Man if yes i really really salute to you... just brutal... now next level, maybe do it on PSX-Original with no SpeedUp-possibility... no no just kidding, this is the most incredible stuff i see in a long time... just ironic, that Omega weapon can still kill you easy... again... respect and big bow to you....

No but seriously. There’s no way I’m spending 500 hours to do this when all you really need to do to overpower every enemy in sight (with two exceptions) is draw and refine like hell and just junction the most powerful spells for every stat, while consolidating all your GF’s and their abilities to your three best characters.
I never got to get ribbons so for the guys that dont want ribbon junction
Esuna, Holy and Reflect on the status resist for 40% resistance to all stats and add shell and life to elemental resistance for 90% absorb... which does nothing with Curaga slotted to Spr cuz 200+ only Omega can hurt you with magic. Meltdown for vit... beem a bit tho but i can't remember for magic what works surprisingly good for it
I'm confused, why give them the junction abilities if you've maxed stats?
