I just want to say I love your videos and thank you for taking the time to do walkthroughs for this game. I beat this game when it first came out but i HATED the card game aspect. I also didn't understand the junction system. I got bored with the game about disc 3 so i just finished the game using a Game Shark, sad to say. Since I didn't truly beat the game like I did the others without cheating, I didn't take the time to understand the plot or explore so I just rushed through it. With these videos it really put things into perspective about how much that really went into this game. Now I enjoy playing the card games and junctioning magic. FF8 is a great game in this series and it sucks that it took me this long to realize it. Better late than never I guess. Cheers!
I want to say im the complete opposite of you. First time playing the game when it first came out Hated the game, hated the story. (obviously i was expecting another ff7 sense i was only like 13 or 15 at the time.) But i loved the Card Game. Only reason i kept going back to ff8, but after the 3rd or 4th play through of the game. (Thats how much i like that mini gamne.) I started to enjoy the game for what it was and not what i wanted. Now i love the CardGame and The story and gameplay. Both of us Loved and hated the opposite parts of the game. But eventually learned to enjoy and love the game as a whole. So Yea. Triple Triad FOREVER. LOL
For me I like to double and triple cast demi when fighting Malboros it deals 29997 hp per turn so it's super fast. Or double or triple casting meteor for 28-43k damage a turn.
You can actually obtain Doomtrain while Edea is in the party - I always play LLG/NLG and I always get Doomtrain while I have Edea so I can get Doomtrain to 100 as well. Also, make sure to remember that you can speed this up by spreading the GFs out - they gain XP even if the one they're junctioned to is napping.
When does that happen? I'm right at the area for this, but unsure if I should do this, or wait till I get DoomTrain, as I don't know when is the best time to do that. Please help.
I recommend junctioning only Diablos to one of the knocked out characters and the rest Edea isn't using to the other, all in order to maximize the EXP Diablos gets. That's because Diablos' GF attack (Dark Messenger) does %-damage of the opponent's max HP (or the damage cap) and that percentage increases with Diablos' Level. It doesn't work on most Bosses, but it's great against opponents with high defense.
@@IlleMagister Diablos' Dark Messenger does percentage-based damage just like the other gravity-type skills, but that percentage is a function of Diablos' level. The higher Diablos' level, the more damage Dark Messenger does. Gravity damage can't break the 9,999 cap, but it completely ignores the target's defenses.
Hey Fuzz, love your videos!!! I figured out a neat rng trick to this farm that was getting me the 10x cursed spikes every battle! I have only gotten this to work on the ps4 remastered version. 1.) Make sure Edea is lv. 100. This is to ensure that the Malboro enemy is at least lv. 50. My dead squall was lv. 29, and my dead Quistis was lv. 22. I am not sure if their levels made too much of a difference but the Malboros’ I was fighting were all lv. 60 after Edea got to lv. 100. I guess just make sure your other character levels are high enough to make the Malboro at least lv. 50. This is so it only lakes one LVup cast to make the Malboro lv. 100. 2.) Have 100 of each of pain, sleep, confuse and break junctioned to Edea as well as having her attack/strength at or really close to 255 with junctions/abilities. I also had 100 firaga junctioned to her elemental attack, though I don’t think this will make a difference at 255 attack/strength. 3.) Save, then exit via the exit option on the in game menu to reset the rng counter and return to FF8’s main menu. 4.) Load the save and make sure you put on 3x speed and mighty (clenched fist) boosters before you start moving. 5.) Here is where you need to be quick. Run around to initiate the rng battle with the Malboro. It should be your first battle no matter what because of the rng manipulation you are using in your video. Now you must be quick and cast the LVup ability before the Malboro’s first bad breath! This must happen!!! 6.) You’re done, sit back and watch as Edea goes berserk (also ignores all other bad side effects besides berserk) and rips the Malboro a new one! Voila!!! I got 10x cursed spikes EVERY time I did this! I don’t think it’s faster than tri-face farms in the underwater research center but for beginning of disk three it’s pretty awesome!!! I was able to get 4 dark matters about every hour this way!!! When I hustled and timed it I was able to save/reset, perform the fight and save/reset again in just under 70 seconds! Have fun bruddha, I hope it works for you!!! Thank you for all your videos and your time!!!!!

The problem with pain is if you cover too many status ailments the malboro will wind up spamming bad breath every turn. I believe they nerfed this farm, because when i did it (2021) the break timer starts at 6 and with pain junctioned I have to spam remedies every other turn as break is the only status bb affects me so the malboro just spams BB because no statuses land.
If you have a Black Hole for Quistis to learn Degenerator, a Rosetta Stone already, and all the Bonus abilities on Ifrit/Siren/Brothers/Carbuncle/Leviathan, you can also start leveling up Quistis at this point too, using her Degenerator limit to just insta-kill the lv100 Malboros!
Damn this surprises me. Whenever I get a new character in an RPG the first thing I want to do is try them out in battle. I'm surprised to hear that people never have used her.
Final fantasy games are always a tough choice. They make it very easy to over power through the game, but where's the fun in a super easy game? Conversely, they always have a mega optional boss so really there's 2 choices, don't do any extras or do all the extras to prepare for the mega boss......It's hard to choose.
You could opt for a bit of both. Stay relatively underpowered throughout the story to get a decent challenge. Then when you hit endgame territory, ramp up the farm and powerlevel to get strong enough to do the optional bosses :)
It's an easy choice for me. If I haven't completed pretty much everything, I don't feel like I've finished the game. Just getting to the ending sequence isn't really a major accomplishment. That's only the bare minimum.
Man, that speed and those textures... the characters seem out of place in this game. It has an indefinable quality that I just don't appreciate. I think the Steam version with the Roses and Wine music patch is still the best way to play this game, for a number of reasons.
Its Latin. 'Mal' translates to 'bad', and 'boro' translates to 'breath'. They used it as a pun in reference to cigarettes and bad breath. In the Japanese version of Final Fantasy games, they're called 'Moruboru', which translates to 'Molbol' in English, which isn't as interesting. In FFIX and FFXIV they actually went with the 'Molbol' translation.
I see you haven't used Amnesia Greens to remove superfluous abilities, like removing the basic Status or Elemental Defense Junctions once you get the x2 or x4 Defense junctions.
@Ze TheGame Some GFs have so many abilities that unless you delete some, you can permanently miss out of abilities. I remember doing that on my first playthrough, by learning the useless GF HP and Summon power abilites.
@@LSB001 which GFs and which abilities are you talking about? I've got a lot of early game GFs already maxed abilities. If I delete some will new ones appear?
Why not go near the Cactuar Island and get some AP from the continent of Centra side? Great way to learn abilities and Cactuar don't give much experience anyway.
Because you can't get Edea there. Her accessibility is after fisherman's horizon when you are taking Rihnoa to Ester. When you get Edea you can't return to FH and you loose her when you get Ragnarok. Only way you could do it, is if you mod the game.
Can. You can use balamb garden to get on the continent next to the island and if you run right along the edge of the continent right next to the cactuar island you can actually fight cactuar that way.
@@davidmills5756 but Edea won't join your party until you go to Ester. When you get to the station on the continent and it spits you out on the world map, you can't go back after that.
There ia another place, were you can level Doomtrain. To the east of Tears Point at the fence, hug the fence a little north from the middel and get a forced Malboro spawn. Right after leaving Rinoa to Odine.
If you do this, you'll get mesmerise items from mugging the mesmerise monsters, use gf ability "Recover Med-RF" on the Gives you 2 mega potoins per mesmerise, sell these to get 1.5 million gil per 100 mesmerise, Works on the original version ff8 Should work on the remastered version, not sure though.
@@Nonlifting_breezy buying certain GF Ability items that you then refine into other Ability items and then refine into Stat Ups to max your stats. Tedious but effective.
You've probably already covered this other truck with Edea where you can get money from selling her letter. How it's supposed to work is that you sell it then go back to her and tell her you lost it then she'll give you another. Sadly it's only worth $125 or gil or whatever the currency is called in FF8, and the other problem is that it takes a long time to do before you get a substantial amount
@@thumbsupbut1041 it will but I’m wondering why not just use the berserk stats from the malboro? Status junction break, pain, silence and sleep and just wail on the thing
Agreed, the game is already easily broken on disc 1 as others have stated, why use these modes to make breaking the game easier. Furthermore, this is a low level play through? Sure why not break a fan based challenge while you're at it.
Thanks for saying this, I was looking through the comments to see if anyone noticed. It makes for a bad video if he doesn't tell people how to account for the malboros being able to kill Edea easily in a non-cheating game.
@Santiago Comics It's not a good example though if he's not showing a way to do it without cheating. If Edea's going to die every battle with a Marlboro, it's kinda moot to tell us to use this method to power her up. It would be possible, but players would have to be a very high level and constantly switch between damage and healing (if they haven't got Treatment... which to be fair, they should have by Disc 3 anyway. Not sure why he hasn't...) just to survive against a Marlboro or most enemies.
There’s no need to cheat against Malboros, just use your imagination. I used Edea to hunt them in Esthar on the Playstation; with the right setup you can do it fairly consistently. Give Edea some GFs that open up all her slots, but don’t give her more GFs than necessary for it; spreading them out helps them level more. Put Siren on another character by herself so she can reach 100 the fastest. Give your third character the remaining GFs. You can go ahead and let Edea go Berserk, it’s okay since all you’re doing is auto-attacking anyway, and the attack boost is helpful. Protect her from Petrification instead. For St-Atk, give her Drain instead of Death because Malboros can’t be OHKOed, and Edea’s rapidfire attacks with her junctioned Speed boost will keep her health constantly high, especially if a Malboro turns her Berserk. Edea won’t get outlevelled by enemies either since the others aren’t levelling. It took awhile, but this got Siren easily up to 100, enabling me to make my very first Dark Matter from the Tri Faces I farmed at the end of Disk 2. It also gave me well enough Malboro Tentacles needed for Quistis to reforge her weapon, and to unlock Doomtrain at the earliest possible moment in the game. The Sorceress Memorial just so happens to be right there, inside the fence.
I dislike that Square put in cheats for instant overdrives and max healing at any point of the game. I never use any of the extras options except speed boosting in FFIX cause I’m doing the level 1 challenge.
James Corey Yeah trust me I know. I’m very familiar with the game. That has nothing to do with what I’m saying. Notice even though Edea is taking poison damage yet her HP doesn’t change?
If you have played the original games the boosters are a godsend to help with farming. If you like farming without the boosters all the more power to you I guess, although it is pretty pathetic to be throwing your life away like that tbh. Complaining that some option is in the game that is not mandatory to use is just absurd since you can just toggle it off.
@@zemm9003 Disliking something isn’t the same as complaining. It’s just stating something. Once. I’m not sure how it’s “throwing my life away” either, when I’m so busy I hardly get to game as it is. You can say that’s true of any past time. Gaming, reading, watching a show. I like doing challenge runs because of the mental stimulation involved. Having to approach problems with a new perspective. But to each their own.
When I did this, I used this time to get a ludicrous amount of healing items. I kept upgrading the mezmerize thing to mega potions and X potions. Did something similar with high and high +. Once I had everything healing wise I could get from them (including all upgrades), I just ground my mega potions for free money.
Did you know you can get hexadragons in the southwest corner of the eshtar area after you leave the city? If you cant counter bad breath that's a good option for 4.5k exp per kill.
I'm surprised how many people feel the need to pay any attention at all to their level, or rather to intentionally not leveling. It's extremely unnecessary if you're junctioning and getting all the good weapons, cards, and items. If anything higher level enemies gives u access to higher level spells to junction, so it really evens out. You guys are gonna make the game WAY too easy. I beat the original 3 times and grinded a lot with no issues.
I’m not getting the Malboro first time. The horse creatures pop up maybe 10 times prior. I am doing this without the built in cheats on the PlayStation Classic Console. I use only 2 status defence (as it’s all I have for now). Berserk and confuse. Then death for attack as it KO’s the horses. It’s time consuming but wait for bad breath, wake up, treatment, regen, level up, double, Demi and repeat. Gotten from 15 - 84 taken 2 hours so far. Have tons of tentacles and a few curse spikes
You can petrify Edea team if you don't like to kill them. Edea junction: St atk : drain St def: pain, sleep, break, & whatever Element atk: firaga Element def: flare + whatever
Love your content, up to this point now, not sure if you’ll read this, but I found that you can force blue dragon spawn with rng save/exit/load while hugging the mountains to left of Marlboro spot (Esthar- Nortes Mountains), there’s also a tornado draw point at the site also. Find it way easier than dealing with bad breath if you don’t have 4xST-Def. odd thing for me is, Edea always does two normal attacks, then third is always a critical.
I always do a similar strategy to this but using Selphie instead and as soon as I got her, I level her up to 100. You can switch her in and out of any battle and get level 30+ enemies automatically while the rest of the party stays at initial levels. She absorbs all exp gain including the mandatory battles. I use Selphie because I dont care about her. Not really worth it to do this with temp character because they dont carry over to another character like FF9 temps.
I was doing this today and if you put confuse, sleep, berserk, and pain on status defense lvl up the Marlboro and then use madrush it seems to stop the petrification timer. Plus it speeds the process up
I've just been using this method, but instead of using treatment I used Mad Rush, and as long as I got the lv up in before it used bad breath (which I ignore) I was getting guaranteed 10 curse spikes! Just farmed 4 dark matters and 100 spare curse spikes!
So I wasn't the only one who does this. Only I do this AFTER I get Doomtrain and Learn Alexander's Recovery. I basically put in Attack / Level UP / Item / Recovery and make sure I've got plenty of REMEDY+ to take care of any STAT issues with the Malboro. I make sure to junction Confuse and Berserk too. This is a great video, I'm happy to see this method has been going around.
Which part/when does that happen? I'm already at this point in the story where I'm about to head to that Salt Lake, but when I saw the comments, I wanted to try to wait until I get DoomTrain before doing so. Just unsure on when/which part of the walkthrough I'm following it is at. Please help.
@@arkavalon5347 Hi. This should take place right after you arrive at the train station while carrying Rinoa on your back. If you want to get Doomtrain and Recovery first just do all this BEFORE you enter the Esthar Presidential mansion because that's where you lose Edea. Just leave Esthar as soon as you can and wander around the wilderness to take advantage of this hack.
@@coralreeves4276 Eh? So it'll be right before going to the presidential residence then? So I can head out to get DoomTrain first before going to the presidential residence? YAY! So that means that I have a bit of leeway since I currently wasn't able to get 100 Ultimas, or get Curse spikes enough to make a Dark Matter. My luck with Draw points are horrible (Only getting 5 Ultimas, or 13 at best; even with over 100 in Magic, even if I were to reset). If you have tips for quicker replenishing of Draw Points and other things, I'm all ears. Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
@@arkavalon5347 Hi! Yeah, you can totally farm curse spikes and get doom train and shop around the city before losing Edea just make sure you never enter the presidential palace. Actually you can do this as long as Edea is in the party. She leaves your party after you leave Rinoa at the palace. If you haven't learned Tonberry's and Alexander's Call shop and High magic/medicine refines yet you should totally do that already. You can also use this time to abolish Lunar rules before going out to space so you can get the Laguna card and Alexander cards easier. About the Draw system it would be best to Junction Siren and Quezacoatl. They have high magic so anyone with them draws higher amounts of magic. the higher your character's magic stats, the higher draws he, she gets. When taking magic from draw points make the person with the highest magic stat draw from the draw point after making sure they don't have that magic maxed out in their spell inventory.
@@coralreeves4276 I got the Call Shop and the Refine while grinding. Curse Spikes? Those seem to be a rare drop from Malboros, and I don't get those often. Not to mention that Malboros are rare encounters too. I've only gotten that drop twice, and Edea is now 100. The GFs are still quite low, with the lowest in the 47/48. So I decided to just grind/farm with the Mesmerize with their blades to turn into Mega Potions to sell off until I could grind for more Malboros. I haven't modified card rules yet, but I will do that after I get my GFs to 99. I noticed that RNG for changing rules are different in the remastered, so the guide I followed back then are no longer the same. As for Draws, it seems to be RNG as well, even if I had the same high level Magic. I tried resetting when I got 5 Ultimas from the Shumi Tribe, and another time, got 13 Ultimas after resetting, but it doesn't seem fixed either, as there are some that are stuck at the low amount. I made sure that there are no one with full stocks of Ultima yet, or more like I don't even have one character with 100 Ultimas yet.
This comment section broke my brain. Gonna try this when just get around to playing the remaster. Although, I just want to play normally. Ugh, I really dislike this exp system. Probably why i never bothered. I want to fight everything...
Basically, cheat....battle enhanent is cheating bro. I basically constant limit break, unlimited health. At that point just run through the whole game with it on an admit you just wanna watch a movie. There is nothing at stake there, no challenge. I played this game when it came out, I was level 99 through hard grind in disc 3. That made for really fun battle. Especially against Ultima weapon
Can you do a video. Explaining which GF abilities should have Amesia Greens used? I had to use to remove Draw ability for Siren so she could learn treatment.
About any non unique abilities. Any stats junction that you have in excess (Exemple having 3 GF equiped on the same character all of which have HP-J). Any +20% support and later on +40% since you can easily replace them with +60%. Don't unlearn things like Luck-J, Eva-J. There things are in finite amount. If I'm not mistaken you can only have 3 GF total with each of these junction abilities. Once you are level 100 with everyone (Or you are dead set on staying at starting level) you can all safely remove every single Bonus support (Str Bonus, HP Bonus, etc...) of all GF. Oh and in case it's not clear the part about +20% and +40% apply the same with HP. Later on when you have +80% you can safely remove lower HP +% support.
You can junction break to Edea and attack the other two members, keep them in break status throughout the rest of the farming, and they won't gain exp too. 😉
I level my GF on the kaktor island. its possible to get to the zone where kaktor can spawn when you get the garden. When you get a group of 4 kaktor its 80 AP.
My problem with ff8 is that if you're kinda proficient with the system, mini maxing is pointless. Like doomtrain invalidates all the status junctioning
actually farming to level 100 is a double edged sword, your stats do get stronger, but its best if your characters the Plus stat features from GF abilities, just like the Plus stat features in ff6 with espers where if you level them they get increased stat from your plus stat.
So my party is squall, zell and edea, I've been doing a no leveling up til this point so they're level 7, 8 and 100, edea junctioned cerberous 4x st def so bad breath is nothing, but I noticed if I use level up one time, bringing them up to level 90, they drop 10 curse spikes every time, so 10 fights gives a dark matter
Heya, f8estly just want to say your ff8 guide videos are brilliantly vlear and extremely useful! Ive done this with Quistis using Degenerator and Str/Vit/Mag/Spr bonuses and you can power level her to 100 and get the 92 bonus stats for all 4 main stats (because HP is easier to max with junctions). It's much quicker than doing Edea because Quistis literally just uses Lvl up until the Malboro is 100 and the Degen it for an instant kill. I think it took about 20-25 minutes in real time. I'm interested to see how the rest of the game goes with one level 100 character because as far as I remember you can always pick and choose when Quistis is in your party for the rest of the game, right? So you can dictate when enemies are higher level or not, I think. It'll also mean I can power-level 2 other characters at once on the Islands because I can have Quistis set up to Degen the enemies and the other 2 both having Str/Vit/Mag/Spr bonuses. Thanks very much, and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
If you petrify the other two members of the party instead of killing them they will still get no exp. after battles but enemies will often waste attacks by attacking one of the petrified party members.
@@CPTDOOMED No, "Petrify" And "Death" Are 2 Different Status Effects. "Petrify" Basically "Stones" An Enemy. The Way It Works Is It Prevents All EXP, AP, And Items. Good I was trying to figure out how I was going to get a perfect game done usually only level up one character at a time and I didn't really want to kill the other two as it would go against my stats
When I was using this strategy, the petrify timer didn't count down when I enabled the battle assist. It would always stay on the same number. I wonder if this was changed in a patch recently.
see i do this but i just use drain status atk and pain on on status defense with high atk it dies fast even the berserk status helps add damage to it so no real danger just remember hp as sometimes if you have wrong element on atk you can heal it and drop your own hp
Great video on a low level play through. Quick question, early in the game, like before the SeeD exam. How do you farm AP for GF abilities without levelling up your characters?
you dont, farm during the seed exam with only seifer, keeps your lvls at the minimum(you can beat ifrit with just shiva and/or some ice casts, just draw them and flee) and you can have high lvl gfs after the exam.
you and void miss the point, it's not about the ap for abilities.. it's about levelling the GFs in a low level game, specifically ifrit and siren as both need to level before some of their abilities become an option to use. If you're running a low level game like fuzz is, you don't want any exp, but the GF need exp to level. You can only level GFs at the start of the game with seifer, and at this point in the game with Edea.
@@jenniferhamels1176 Ifrit and siren need some levels in order to learn ammo r and treatment respectively. That's the only reason to level them. awsome! im going to do this in my next FF8 play through. Just wondering..how is Edea staying at 9999HP? shes takiing damage from the acid and the poison and yet the HP never moves, what are you using that is allowing Edea to ignore the damage?

I beat this game when it first came out but i HATED the card game aspect. I also didn't understand the junction system. I got bored with the game about disc 3 so i just finished the game using a Game Shark, sad to say.
Since I didn't truly beat the game like I did the others without cheating, I didn't take the time to understand the plot or explore so I just rushed through it.
With these videos it really put things into perspective about how much that really went into this game. Now I enjoy playing the card games and junctioning magic. FF8 is a great game in this series and it sucks that it took me this long to realize it. Better late than never I guess. Cheers!
Learning the junction system is a beauty on its own. Satisfying when you finally know the stuff about it.
Triple Triad in FF8 is better than the Tetra Master from FF9, which is my first and favorite FF, as I've not been able to get good at the latter.
LOL
Smoothbrain child suddenly loves VIII after they grow up. Many such cases.
I hated the card game the first time I played it, about 20 years ago. Now I love it. Perceptions change.
I just can't help searching for ff stuff without finding you lol. good on you man, you've worked hard, and your vids are helpful.
For me I like to double and triple cast demi when fighting Malboros it deals 29997 hp per turn so it's super fast. Or double or triple casting meteor for 28-43k damage a turn.
There is also a spot after you leave Esthar where Malboros spawn. NE of Lunatic Pandora Laboratory. So, you can use this to level up Doomtain as well.
So Diablos is best when at max level? Why is that?
@@IlleMagister Diablos' Dark Messenger does percentage-based damage just like the other gravity-type skills, but that percentage is a function of Diablos' level.
The higher Diablos' level, the more damage Dark Messenger does. Gravity damage can't break the 9,999 cap, but it completely ignores the target's defenses.
not a lot of people use GF anyway.
Farm Mystery Fluids > Meltdown -> Spam Renzokuken seems more effective

I don’t know what’s I love more , the videos you’ve made or the Accent you have
Hey Fuzz, love your videos!!!
The first time I played FF8 in 2001, I learned the hard way exactly how Cid must have felt when Edea suddenly left him and took all his sh*t!

I got Edea via the GameShark. I used her for battles with Adel, and the bosses of Ultimecia’s Castle and my final battle with Ultimecia.
My team are currently working on it
@@TonyChurch112 Many thanks! I managed to use Edea with a save editor, but the additional party members screwed up Ultimecia's Castle, almost to the point of being unplayable. Still managed to beat it with a little finesse, lol.
I use pain in the place of blind. Pain protects against 4 different status ailments. Blind, poison, silence and I can remember the fourth
I think the fourth is Curse, which prevents a character's Limit Break from activating.
Thanks
Same...
@@jprec5174 I could be wrong but pain made my fight with the malboro easier, and more manageable
Black Hole for Quistis 😂
I've finished this game about 20 times over the years. I've still never used Edea lol
I don't think I had until this playthrough lol
I thought it was the best part of the game lol
same. I'm an Irvine guy, myself.
Damn this surprises me. Whenever I get a new character in an RPG the first thing I want to do is try them out in battle. I'm surprised to hear that people never have used her.
I mean.... you have to use Edea though... while Zell is the party leader when Squall goes to space.
Reminds me of how you use Seifer to level up early in the game.
I leveled her and seifer a lot thinking I could keep them
Haha same for edea only though
you could just edit the save to do so with HYNE...
@@elliotlecaille Some people played this game when it was originally released. ;)
I lvled them knowing they would not stay... you don't actualy really get beter with lvl in this game anyway.
I played Seifer in disc1 for Lvl100 lots of fun
@@leadbones agreed
Man, that speed and those textures... the characters seem out of place in this game. It has an indefinable quality that I just don't appreciate. I think the Steam version with the Roses and Wine music patch is still the best way to play this game, for a number of reasons.
I always wondered if Marlboros were called us such because of the chemicals in Marlboro cigarettes
What blows my mind is that its spelled MALBORO
@@isaiahsmith8379 the naming is so close though, and I’m sure they have Marlboro cigarettes in Japan
@@MikeYeary that is a pretty intetesting fact!
Malboro translates into "bad breath"
I see you haven't used Amnesia Greens to remove superfluous abilities, like removing the basic Status or Elemental Defense Junctions once you get the x2 or x4 Defense junctions.
I started to remove a couple, but no you're correct I have not mass deleted yet but will do in the future lol :)
You can even start removing Draw, item etc. You only need them one per character
@Ze TheGame
Some GFs have so many abilities that unless you delete some, you can permanently miss out of abilities. I remember doing that on my first playthrough, by learning the useless GF HP and Summon power abilites.

If your doing 9999 damage, wouldnt it be easier to lvl up that malbory then have madrush as a third ability to use ?
true, would save mashing the button.
Brilliant add on to this strategy!
Would mad rush work with berserk being junctioned to status defense?
@@thumbsupbut1041 it will but I’m wondering why not just use the berserk stats from the malboro? Status junction break, pain, silence and sleep and just wail on the thing

I don't get that either, seems to cheapen the experience
Exactly, if you're gonna cheat, then just go God mode and spank the game, or just do it naturally
You start at level 7
James Corey Yeah trust me I know. I’m very familiar with the game. That has nothing to do with what I’m saying.
Notice even though Edea is taking poison damage yet her HP doesn’t change?
Yeah, I honestly hate how they do that with all the remasters. The only one they did properly was 12 Zodiac, since all it had was a speedboost.
Im glad u gave a real description in the description section. I subscribed for that
When I did this, I used this time to get a ludicrous amount of healing items. I kept upgrading the mezmerize thing to mega potions and X potions. Did something similar with high and high +.
Once I had everything healing wise I could get from them (including all upgrades), I just ground my mega potions for free money.
Would have been awesome to know what you used as far as GF’s and such! Helpful video nonetheless
Edea junction:
St atk : drain
St def: pain, sleep, break, & whatever
Element atk: firaga
Element def: flare + whatever
If you got em. Esuna Holy and Reflect on status defense for 40%+ resistance to every status effect in the game
Sorry, hexadragon
Great tip, thanks for sharing.
I leveled her up a lot but it was just because I was doing a loyalty challenge. I was grinding the AP for Tonberry's shop abilities with her.
Edea is sooo selfless ....xd
She is awesome asf that's why lol. She is hella fun.
I was doing this today and if you put confuse, sleep, berserk, and pain on status defense lvl up the Marlboro and then use madrush it seems to stop the petrification timer. Plus it speeds the process up
thats smart! but try max level at the garden in the start its crazy fun
I've just been using this method, but instead of using treatment I used Mad Rush, and as long as I got the lv up in before it used bad breath (which I ignore) I was getting guaranteed 10 curse spikes! Just farmed 4 dark matters and 100 spare curse spikes!
Wish I knew about this earlier because I went back to an earlier save just to farm curse spikes at Galbadia Garden at the end of disc 2 XD
No matter how many games I play and enjoy I will always come back to ff8
Ah yes. "For fun."
YAY!

He is not running through the game. He is farming. The boosts were put into the game precisely to make farming a LOT easier.
Later on when you have +80% you can safely remove lower HP +% support.
dean baker draw, magic, items, GF.
Thanks for the video :) but still not sure the advantages of Edea getting to lv 100 in the first place. Did I miss that?
Oh my... Another piece of my young memory. RUclips really wanna push me over the edge now huh?
Your videos are amazingly helpful.
If you petrify the other two members of the party instead of killing them they will still get no exp. after battles but enemies will often waste attacks by attacking one of the petrified party members.
Hmmm That Might Be A Better Idea. Would Save Time Killing Them! Or You Could Just Junction "Death" To Edea's(Or Seifer's) Status ATK.
If you petrify does that count as a death?
@@CPTDOOMED No, "Petrify" And "Death" Are 2 Different Status Effects. "Petrify" Basically "Stones" An Enemy. The Way It Works Is It Prevents All EXP, AP, And Items. Great Against "Human" Enemies Like Soldiers In This Game As They Cannot Be Carded. "Death" Is Insta-Kill As It Says, But It STILL Gains You EXP. They Work The Same, But In Different Ways.
Stop capitalising every word. It's horrible to read.
Good I was trying to figure out how I was going to get a perfect game done usually only level up one character at a time and I didn't really want to kill the other two as it would go against my stats
You should of used the ability "mad rush" to auto win that fight quicker ;)
Thanks this really helps
why did fuzz teach quezacotl status gaurd x4 when he has cerberus on squall who has status guard x4
When I was using this strategy, the petrify timer didn't count down when I enabled the battle assist. It would always stay on the same number. I wonder if this was changed in a patch recently.
Currently playing. It hasnt been parched 😅
@@sagachaos Maybe I got it wrong. It's been a while since I last played this game.
see i do this but i just use drain status atk and pain on on status defense with high atk it dies fast even the berserk status helps add damage to it so no real danger just remember hp as sometimes if you have wrong element on atk you can heal it and drop your own hp
Great video on a low level play through. Quick question, early in the game, like before the SeeD exam. How do you farm AP for GF abilities without levelling up your characters?
Learn card from that bird GF and card the monster on every fight. You will only gain ap and not exp.
you dont, farm during the seed exam with only seifer, keeps your lvls at the minimum(you can beat ifrit with just shiva and/or some ice casts, just draw them and flee) and you can have high lvl gfs after the exam.
What's the point of this if using the enhancements? Defeats the objective of grinding.
Status attack + zombie + recover, anyway. Two turns needed.
Hmm Ribbon sounds nice to get then.
You can level gfs without leveling yourself just card the creatures in battle and you receive no experience, but all the ap
Like you say, thats a great way for GFs to earn AP and learn new abilities, but they won't actually level up.
Cactuar island.. Farm all gf abilities in 30mins
you and void miss the point, it's not about the ap for abilities.. it's about levelling the GFs in a low level game, specifically ifrit and siren as both need to level before some of their abilities become an option to use. If you're running a low level game like fuzz is, you don't want any exp, but the GF need exp to level.
You can only level GFs at the start of the game with seifer, and at this point in the game with Edea.
Waraila wildrunner
The game is literally easy mode by doing a low level run. There’s no need to level GFs at all. xD
@@jenniferhamels1176 Ifrit and siren need some levels in order to learn ammo r and treatment respectively. That's the only reason to level them. And the reason to do a low level run is so then you can take advantage of having the boost abilities. Gives you a nice boost when you do start levelling if you can have a character gain all the stats :P
I see it like my free time is being rag dolled around like a masochist in the bedroom.
What does that battle enhancement thing do?
Her outfit is so awesome
awsome! im going to do this in my next FF8 play through. Just wondering..how is Edea staying at 9999HP? shes takiing damage from the acid and the poison and yet the HP never moves, what are you using that is allowing Edea to ignore the damage?
if you had not yet found the answer and since noone gave you an answer, the remaster has a cheat mode that lets you stay at max hp
@@EldarianLegend oooh ok thank you
@@EldarianLegend Does that only apply to those that are alive, or will it end up reviving the dead too when it's enabled?
It's actually called "grinding" or "Power-levelling." Farming is what you do when you're out collecting stuff.
The point of this is to keep the bosses at a low level but you gfs deal high damage? Effectively making the game easier?
@Jonny Croxville you can still die though. It is not like ff7 remaster where you were straight invincible and god mode. Here you just restore your hp instantly and have unlimited breaks, but I understand your point.
@Jonny Croxville the remastered version is pretty much the same as the original so what is the problem m
Great vid, You have a new sub.
Hi, just stumbled on this.... I was trying to do this lately and faced TONS of Mesmerizes, but for hours not even ONE Morbol/Malboro (excuse me I am german :D) . To note I am not playing "remastered" right now, because I have waaaayyyy too much fun exploiting chocobo world :D. Is "not remastered" the problem here? or am I doing something wrong?
Every time I play I always 100% it I love it
She is so awesomely fun!
Hmm, can't seem to get 5k exp points though. Wondering what am I missing
How is the doom countdown so high? mine starts at 6 and it destroys me
Why does petrify start at 17 seconds for you? Mine always starts at 6 seconds..
It is probably related to your spirit stat as that governs your magic defence and abnormality/buff durations.
Weird, my edea was lvl 100 with 255 strength and still had a VERY fast petrify from malboro / death from vysage in the salt flats also she wasn’t hitting 9999 on malboro like your character here. I noticed you’ve got a red icon on the bottom left of your screen(its a fist). I wonder if this one helps with hitting for more damage
In this game level is nothing you got to link petra or other magic to status defense (i don't know the name in English but i hope you can get my point)
Why wouldn't you want to level up your main party instead?
Because leveling up is boring. Junction covers it so why bother. I played this game again because of the no lvl up method and i hate grinding exp. I believe many peoples are the same.
@@davidtogi5878 No, in this game grinding Exp is too fast (only cost 1.000 exp) but the enemies are in your level, so if you are in level 100 with bad stats you're fucked up
Is Edea immune to ANY status ailments? I really hate Malboro.
Why is your hp not changing when you take damage?
