    Im 51 years old... One of life's biggest regrets was never seeing this amazing man & musician live.. I had my chances & thought next time.. Unfortunately its not the first time ive said next time & next time will never happen.. There is a lesson to be learned from this comment people..

      I was lucky enough to see him in 2009,probably the loudest (in a good way) gig i've been to! You could not only hear it,but feel every single heart breaking,face melting,glorious note he played.one of the few "famous" people who passing truly hurt me.

      I hear ya. Hurts everytime we lose a great player. I wish so much this gentleman was still around. I guess in a sense he is. I have many memories as well as the cd’s that keep his music living on. So thankful for that fact.

      I agree completely. There is no such thing as the best or greatest player - it is all in the mind of the individual listener.
      I've had the oddest emotions running through me when listening to Gary, already in his Heavy Rock era, like the title track from Victims of the Future, which sends shivers down my spine every time.

    I think you have to be able to play the guitar too truely appreciate just how good Gary Moore was ,the tone the subtle touches the timing and the share skill and talent , i have been playing the guitar for forty years,and if I could go to my grave saying I was as half as good as Gary Moore I'd die happy .but alas I'm not there yet.

    He puts his heart and soul into this song. He was a great fan of Peter Green, who made the song famous in the late 1960's. This song is one of my favourites, and Gary Moore does not disappoint me. He was ne of the greatest guitarists that ever lived, and a great inspiration to guitarists like me.

    Wow, what a theme and interpretation! I think this is the only song with my beloved unchainned melody, that can touch my heart very deep. I have been a guitarrist for many years, and the outro is unique, it is the only guitarrist that has made me drop a tear in each of the main parts of his solo. What a feeling, what a heart, what a vibratto ..... i thank God that Gary was sent to the Earth to share his feelings with us. A big hug from the earth to the heaven!

      No, Green offered the guitar to Gary for sale as he felt that it needed a custodian, somebody who would do the instrument justice.
      In fact, after Gary's death, Green had been offered the guitar back but declined, stating "Oh god no, look at the state that thing is in!" Peter Green likes his guitars in mint condition.

      @@RastaSaiyaman The story i read in an interview with Gary Moore is that Peter gave it to him for nothing. Gary visited him when he was reclusive and Peter says I want you have my guitar. He said no way I can take it from you.. After his visit he got home and found the guitar in the bots of his car.

    What an emotive player. As a pro guitarist, players that can make the instrument cry like this are SPECIAL. Additionally, Gary is LIGHTING FAST and can mix blazing speed with that soulish cry of the guitar. One of the truly GREATS!

      I do. He had great vocal range and presence. If (in some parallel universe) he'd not been a guitarist, but was a blues singer, I have no doubt he would have been regarded as a legend.
