0:40 - (Skip Intro)
9/24/17 - An entire train of brand new Postal Service trailers heads east through Robesonia with an increasingly rare H1 BNSF Dash-9 in the consist. Seeing a solid TOFC train of this size is reminiscent of the 90's and early 2000's, but is a practice that has disappeared around here in the post-Conrail days.
0:40 - I4Z - Chicago, IL - Croxton, NJ (Special section)

BNSF ES44C4 7923
BNSF C44-9W 1054 H1
10/01/17 - A rather loud SD60E leads 15T under a rising moon at Robesonia. No wonder SD60E's have been nick-named "thunder cabs" by crews.
2:20 - 15T - Allentown, PA - Birmingham, AL
NS SD60E 6915
NS C44-9W 9058
NS ES44DC 7605
10/23/17 - A GP38-2 from the local pool leads 33A east toward Allentown on a blustery evening. This train would be re-symboled to 30A in 2018.

NS GP38-2 5304
NS C44-9W 8971

10/24/17 - 15T rounds the bend west of Richland through the fields in some of the sweetest evening light I have ever seen.
5:25 - 15T - Allentown, PA - Birmingham, AL
NS C44-9W 9012
NS C44-9W 9704

NS SD60I 6744

8:30 - 17G - Morrisville, PA - Conway, PA
NS SD70ACe 1116

Later that morning it starts to rain, as coal loads cross form 1 to 2 at Prescott with a ratty former AC6000CW second out.

NS SD70M-2 2706

On the way home, a massive "blood moon" started to rise over the fields, so I decided to grab some shots with some lite power for the audio.

Thanks for Watching! Авто/Мото
Thank you very much for the film work you do! I love your films and since I suck at it, it is a pleasure to watch yours!
Thanks for sharing, as always! Enjoyed the farm shots too !
Where do I begin?! :-D
Your farm shots cannot be beat. Wow. Stunning shot at Annville. Great attempt with the blood moon.
my cousin was the President of GREX before they got bought out. Pretty cool to see their cars rolling around all the way up there

Another winning combo...great photography skill and stunning eastern scenery...plus even real weather (it never rains in Southern California).
Any word on the next 4k camera? Btw, I bought the Panasonic G9 with 4k/60fps (at least for 10-minute segments).
Right now I am borrowing a Panasonic HC-X1. It's quite a different game, and I am not sure I am sold on the DVX-200 based on this camera (and other feedback I've read). The explanation is long, but I will take the time to learn this camera before making up my mind. I'd love to get a GH5 (or the next one that comes out) as a B camera to supplement a larger camcorder, but right now I don't think the 4K-60p is all there in a all-in-one camcorder for under $4,000 range. The primary issue I see with the Panasonic pro cameras 4K-60p is that the resolution is very soft (even when properly focused) compared to what my Sony shoots. I'm not sure if this is because the sensor tech is from 2015 (my Sony is from 2014 and it's better?) or if they were going for more of a cinema look right out of the camera, or both, if that makes sense. I found the 4K resolution barely greater than the HD my Sony was putting out, which to me would not be worth shelling a few thousand for. Others noted you could achieve a better 4K output recording to an external recorder, which really dampens the run-and-gun capabilities of an all-in-one camera, not to mention more $ and time for post-production. Maybe this was by design, who knows... but I might finish out the year with my Sony AX-100 and see just what is on the horizon before making an upgrade to out-dated tech. I will watch the BMPCC4K to see how it performs, some have noted that this camera gets extremely hot during long recordings (I don't know what the definition of long is?) Probably not an issue for trains...I think that's the reason the G9 only records 10 minute sessions, because it needs time for the internals to cool down to maintain the shot. You can wear a camera out very quickly by running it hot all of the time. Aside from cameras, I'd like to expand into sliders and other add-on tech to make some creative shots. I think a slider, with the proper use, could make for some interesting shots, as I am getting bored with a static tripod set-up haha.
You have some of the sharpest and best color in the arena of train videos. Regarding the G9, the 10 minute limitation is totally arbitrary since I can immediately go back to recording (no heat problems).
The last good year before the PSR bs storm began at Norfolk Southern
